Welcome, and congratulations on being a member of the Jedi High Council!

By accepting this position, you accept that you’re one of the foremost leaders of the Jedi faction, and because of that you have increased responsibilities towards the faction.

This doesn’t just mean performing the jobs within your specific roles on the Council, as that much is obvious. You also need to set an example for the rest of the Jedi to follow. What are some of these examples?

  • Be courteous and kind, but don’t let the louder voices steamroll you if they’re being intransigent. Remember that while you’re not a ruler, decisions do ultimately have to be left with the Council.
  • Be an example. Treat others fairly and be an active member of the faction. Don’t appear like an untouchable leader sitting on a pulpit, but rather RP with other members of the faction.
  • Be a Jedi. Too often we try to badass ourselves up in the complete wrong direction. Don’t act like you’re a member of the dark side, or a Jedi who doesn’t understand other people. You can be a badass Jedi warrior while still understanding the philosophies of the Jedi and the Way of the Force.
This is not a comprehensive list, and it will be expanded in time, but it is a good place to start.

Should anyone forget, the password to this board (and the Council archives) is: mightymouse

Please don’t share that with non-Council members.

Enjoy your time on the Council. Let’s make the most of it!

Jedi Councilor Roles

Below are the descriptions of each councilor’s role. As members you have proven your trust and commitment to providing engaging and compelling stories for members to participate in. Though given much leeway in what you would like to do with your role, ultimately all decisions made fall back on the Jedi Faction Leader. Failure to perform your role or if you are unable to comply to appropriate behavior with other members of the forum then the Jedi Faction Leader holds the right to remove you from your position.

As a Jedi Councilor, the councilor role offers and brings forth a variety of ideas and views of the New Jedi Order faction. Serving as the Sage Master or Watch Master, your role serves as an unique responsibility to the Order, each giving members of the Faction to explore different aspects of the NJO through multiple specializations to immerse players in an enriching role playing environment. While serving as Jedi Councilor teamwork is important for continuous growth and activity within and across Factions. Councilors work together along with the Jedi Faction Leader (and in some cases other Faction Leaders) to create new story plots as well as exchange ideas and suggestions on how to better improve the faction.

Sage Master

As Sage Master, members are the foremost instructor in the Force and its philosophies with an IC and OoC understanding of the dark side, the light side, the basis of philosophies from which the Jedi and Sith emerge from, and the Force in its relation to each Force sensitive sect. Such understandings include the Buddhist philosophy of the eightfold path as well as the general understanding of the New Jedi Order and Old Jedi Order philosophies in Star Wars and SWRP canon.

The Sage Master is responsible for setting up classes and training opportunities for Jedi members, but not required to teach all classes. He or she will also need to be vigilant with helping inexperienced members to set up classes or group training if unable to do it on their own. The Sage Master may also pass down duties of classes and training supervision to the High Preceptor to elevate workload.

Members serving as the Sage Master must be able to direct members to other Jedi in the faction as well as to other resources (such as Wookieepedia or the Archives) for additional help and training. The Sage Master is responsible for the Jedi Archive Board; duties can be delegated to the Head Archivist, the Jedi Archives is still overseen by the Sage Master. Submissions and work completed in the archives may be approved by the Sage Master, but if necessary, the Jedi Faction Leader (Grand Master) may overrule and remove an approved submission if believed to be inappropriate for the archives.

OoC Duties:

  • Archive Board Management: As Sage Master, review articles that are posted in the Archive Board, double check with Wookieepedia if articles are canon, or if Site Lore, double check with site veterans if unsure.
  • Classes: As Sage Master, classes should be focused on understanding the Force: Light Side, Dark Side, Living, and Unifying. The Sage Master can hold classes involving Force powers and techniques to counter the Force, but those classes can be delegated to other members of the faction.

Watch Master
The Watch Master oversees and establishes the network of Watchmen dispatched to systems across the galaxy. Effective observation and reporting of events and individuals who can either help or decay the Order is essential for the preservation of the Jedi and their affiliates. The Watch Master is responsible for general security and alerting the Jedi Council if more aggressive action is required for protection of certain systems and sentients if aggressors become persistent.

The Watch Master will still serve as the Order’s chief recruiter, determining if potential initiates are capable of joining the NJO with the correct determination and without causing intentional harm. Though responsibility will fall mainly on the Watchmen who reside on the systems to seek out new recruits, including Lost Jedi who still search for the remaining members of the NJO.

OoC Duties

  • Floating Enclaves: The Watch Master will help the FL research new enclave locations and help set up missions for setting up temporary Jedi homes. The Watch Master will delegate the missions to members looking to help participate.
  • Enclave Security: With new enclaves, the Watch Master is responsible for writing up and updating the security measures for each enclave. The Watch Master will see that write ups are turned over to the Faction Leader in order to be submitted for review by other Faction Leaders and the Administration.
  • Infiltration & Observation: The Watch Master will oversee the progress of IC infiltration of the Jedi in enemy factions and contacting the appropriate FLs about missions that directly affect factions involved. As well as infiltration, the Watch Master will also help member's characters get in touch with the NJO ICly through the Watchmen if requested.

The Weapons Master is also responsible for teaching advanced combat techniques and non-weapon combat under the example of the Jedi code and ensuring Jedi resolute aggressive conflict by discretion.
