Carrick was getting used to having enough wealth to buy such a lovely house because being the Senator for Tinnel IV had gotten him a lovely apartment in the centre of the capital city but being the Secretary of Defense for the ISC got him the funds and connections to buy himself a country house on any ISC world. Despite doing a lot of work on Christophsis, he didn’t rate the locale very highly so he had decided on Naboo.

Specifically some of the mountainous regions of Naboo, out of the way from the cities and the politics because he wanted to be able to come here, come home, and be able to switch off if he wanted to. He wouldn’t be able to do that in Theed so he was half the world away from the planet’s capital city and he was glad of it.

Even if it did make trips to the store for blue milk difficult.

With its private landing pad, however, he could entertain visitors and only one person actually had his address who knew who he actually was currently and that was Reiel. Hence why the Secretary of Defense for the ISC was currently leaning against the railing overlooking the view from the house, waiting for her visit while dressed in pajamas.

They had little lightsabers on them.

Having her own ship meant that her days of hitching rides from Buir or a random spacer kind enough to let her were finally over. Reiel was proud of her purchase, knowing that the credits she saved up during her bounty hunting days and as the chief of security for Tinnel IV's leader were spent rather well. Having her own ship also meant that she could now travel without having to endure being under someone else's scrutiny (and she experienced that a lot while hitching rides) and constant questions along the lines of “off to where?“

On her way to Carrick's house, Reiel made a single stop over at Theed. It was brief, every conversation made while she made a few purchases polite but curt. To any merchant and shop she'd stopped by she probably seemed like an errand Mando, with Reiel encouraging the thought by asking things about her purchases and making subtle comments about certain standards her employer might be looking at before paying for the things she bought. They were all carefully wrapped when she brought them back to her ship, but in the end they found themselves carefully folded and tucked in a duffel bag along with the rest of the small Mando's clothing.

She was glad her destination was practically on the other side of Naboo, far from the bustling capital city and prying eyes.

Getting onto the private landing pad was easy enough after she'd made it past the security features that protected his home. Duffel bag on one hand and helmet on the other, Reiel exited her ship with a spring to her steps. She took a deep breath, marvelling at the nature all around her for a moment, before finally meeting the gaze of the master of the house.

And he was dressed in pajamas, of all things.

He looked so unbelievably cute.

Clipping her helmet to her belt, the small Mandalorian raised her free hand to wave at Carrick and ask him playfully in greeting,

“You're up there, I'm down here... why do I feel like we're going to act out a romantic scene from a famous play?“

A pop-up lit up his datapad as he was just relaxing and he eyed the report that his anti-aircraft defenses had been deactivated by an authorized code. As there was only one other person with those authorized codes, he remained relaxed, not feeling the need to rush to get dressed or otherwise let any of the tension of his day job leak back into himself. He had taken quite some time to get even halfway relaxed and he didn't really want to have anything bring some of it back into his life.

Reiel was unlikely to do that of course.

He pointed to her when he saw her before gesturing to his pajamas and the little lightsabers printed on them. Though she had her helmet on to begin with, Carrick was perfectly capable of telling where she was looking through experience. That and, to be honest, they were probably just that eye-catching.

"Not a word - they're comfortable."

Of course she then opened up the flirting and Carrick couldn't help but laugh a little bit at her chosen route. Going to try messing around with literature flirtation eh? Well she definitely got some points for style that much was for certain, class too. Smirking a little wider, Carrick decided to play along.

"Reiel oh Reiel, where for art thou Reiel?"

Ah, but she wasn't planning on saying something about the pajamas. But now that he talked about it, then there was no way she wouldn't mention it any longer. Reiel held off the teasing comments, however, and let out a bright laugh when he delivered the expected lines from the play while also changing the hero's name to hers.

It wasn't even her favorite play and yet Carrick had easily managed to make her swoon by his delivery.

The small Mandalorian began her approach, following along the stone pathway and up the stairs to her left. She stopped halfway, adjusting her hold on her duffel bag and glancing up at her sorcerer with a grin. When she looked away to continue her ascent, Reiel spoke out loud the hero's response, forgoing the rest of the heroine's in favor of continuing her and Carrick's playful exchange.

As if speaking to an invisible audience, the small Mandalorian wondered out loud, "Shall I hear more, or shall I speak at this?"

When she reached the top of the stairs and was now standing a few steps from him, Reiel dropped her duffel bag on the floor and broke character, rushing forward towards Carrick with the most radiant smile she could muster. Arms wrapped around his middle, and her cheek pressed lightly against his clothed chest.

"Hello, cyare," she greeted him with a happy chuckle, slightly pulling away so she could look up at him. One gloved hand found his shoulder, fingers lightly tracing the little lightsabers on the fabric. "Nice pair. I like the tiny laser swords... might wanna buy a pair of my own in green."

It was the color of his real lightsaber, after all. And she chose the color if only to further tease him.

Ah all the time he had spent watching terribly dull plays while attending them as part of some political scheme had finally paid off - he knew that somewhere, somehow, there had to be someone within the Galaxy who enjoyed being serenaded by such prose. At the time he had found the idea amusing but he was going to take what he could get. Already he could feel how she was feeling from just such a tease through the Force.

Of course when she picked up with one of the further lines from the play he couldn't help the little laugh as he just raised an eyebrow at her as he watched her perform to the audience that wasn't there. He'd have been rather put out to find that there was an audience after all the crowns he had paid to keep them private here.

Grinning when she broke character and ran towards him, Carrick allowed himself to relax even more than he already had done upon seeing her, leaning down slightly to catch her in his arms. Laughing a little bit, he scooped her up into a bridal carry and started to carry her away from the balcony.

There was more of the home to show her.

"You can wear my top when I'm not."
he told her with a smirk, "On you it might feel more like a dress than a shirt though... now come on!"

He hefted the small Mandalorian up and onto his shoulder, patting her pert backside from his other hand as he deliberately jostled her around.

"Lets go see the rest of our house!"

The sound of his laughter was one of her favorite things in the entire galaxy, and while it was still kept to a minimum Reiel knew that it was genuine. Her smile broadened, a laugh of her own ringing brightly within his home as he began to lift her in a bridal carry and carried her further inside. The small Mandalorian carefully looped her arms around Carrick's neck, mindful of the armor still attached to her person.

"I stole one of your shirts, you know," she admitted with a sunny smile, brown eyes sparkling with mirth as she gazed up at him. "I don't call it shirt anymore. I call it dress now."

She did so during that time she got stabbed after her kind of successful beskar'gam hunting on Tinnel IV. The small Mandalorian wouldn't assume that her sorcerer had no idea that one of his shirt had vanished mysteriously, only to find out that his Mando had stolen it.

And speaking of dresses... she'd brought some on her way to his house.

Another bout of sunny laughter escaped Reiel as Carrick began to heft her onto his shoulder, a surprised but amused "Hey!" calling him out for that one wandering hand. She couldn't stop laughing even as he deliberately jostled her around, raising her upper body as much as she could and tucked a stray hair behind her ear.

"The manhandling commences!" she playfully yelled in faux protest, one gloved hand lightly patting his back in return. "'Our house', huh? Must be nice to call your house 'ours'!"

Of course when her mind caught up to what they both just said, Reiel froze for half a moment before struggling against Carrick's hold, a mix of surprise, unbridled excitement, and happiness flashing all at once across her red face.

"Wait– 'our house'...? Our house?"

This time the small Mandalorian didn't 'blue-screen'. Call her exaggerated, but she thought she had almost legit lost her godsdamned mind because of a word as simple and harmless as 'our'.

It was as if he'd told her that they had a planet for the first time.

Of course Carrick knew she had stolen one of his shirts - just like he knew that the reason she had originally stolen it was because it smelled like him. And that she had worn it less and less the more it got washed and smelled less like him. He had honestly been expecting to find it back in his closet so he would end up wearing it again so she could steal it back but, well, he hadn't been spending a lot of time on Tinnel IV and, for the most part, it was actually easier to just buy slightly cheaper shirts every time he needed one.

That felt wasteful to even think, let alone say aloud, but it was the kind of reality that he lived in when he was usually operating on at least five different timezones on a dozen different planets.

"I expect that dress-shirt to end up back in the closet."
he jokingly 'scolded' her with a smirk, "Put it on rotation - you can wear it on days that start with S."

It wasn't about the shirt.

It wasn't about the house even.

It was all about how Carrick and Reiel had found in each other the only person they felt like they could fully open up to. To leave themselves open and naked for and to have that be accepted fully by the other person no matter what. He noted the way she immediately changed how she was struggling as soon as her mind kind of caught up to what he had actually been saying. Thankfully for the both of them, he had already carried her into the large, open plan, kitchen-living space so when she started struggling with more effort he was able to twist as they were grappling so he landed sat down on the sofa with her rest atop of him.

He reached up and brushed a strand of her hair out of the way of her face.

"I couldn't have done all this without you Reiel... well..."
he smirked, "I could. Just not as well, not as stylishly, not as uninjured and not as quickly."

Even with the moment becoming more serious he couldn't resist a joke before returning to the more serious moment again.

"Your name is on the deeds as well Reiel. This isn't just my house that you're welcome to whenever you like - this isn't like Tinnel which was our achievement. No this is actually ours, in the same way it is for every couple who don't have to deal with bounty hunters or senate meetings. Tell me if I was out of line but I... wanted that for us, you know? Just a slice of it, together."

He'd adjusted his hold in accordance with her struggling and before she knew it he was already seated on the sofa while she was on top of him, now gazing down at him wide-eyed. Red bloomed across Reiel's face, creeping up the tips of her ears and down her neck. She'd missed his teasing remarks about his stolen shirt, her attention equally stolen by the fact that he'd called his newly bought house their own. This was far too much than she'd even dared to expect.

She honestly had no idea what to say. At least he'd made a joke with regards to her involvement in helping him achieve what he now had... but even then his own efforts before they met have already made their mark on his path to success.

"Well, that's what you get for flirting back and inviting one particular Mandalorian to dinner," she shot back bashfully with a smirk of her own. Though with the way she was blushing, the smirk looked more like a shy grin.

Reiel gently grasped the hand that brushed at her hair, pressing a soft kiss to his knuckles. Brown eyes shone with unrestrained love for the man who held her, and when he continued to speak – delving from one serious moment to the next – the small Mandalorian was beyond flabbergasted.

Her name was on the deed, too? So he wasn't just saying that this place was theirs for the sake of saying it. The fact that he wanted a place were both of them could be who they were, where they could 'take off' the mantle they wore as a politician and a Mando warrior respectively sent her heart aflutter, her face lighting up in a radiant smile reserved only for him.

"Carrick, I–" Reiel's smile widened, a bright laugh slipping past her lips as she cupped his face and leaned down to kiss his forehead, the tip of his nose, then his lips. "Cyare, this isn't out of line, never–"

She pressed her forehead to his, brown eyes meeting pale blues. She'd asked herself this question countless of times, and right now she couldn't help but ask again.

What had she done to deserve him?

"Thank you. For all these. I–"

She chuckled softly, fingers brushing through his hair. She didn't ask for much, nor would she ever, but this? He wanted this, with her, of all people. It was more than enough to coax tears of joy from her, but oddly enough she didn't feel like crying – not that it would ruin the moment.

"Kad, you always surprise me in the nicest ways that it's almost unfair..."

Reiel kissed her sorcerer again, a soft press of her lips to his.

"You bought us a house, and what have I done so far? Buy a few dresses to catch you off g–" Realizing what she'd just said, Reiel slapped both hands to her mouth and gazed at Carrick with wide eyes. It was supposed to be a surprise!

Di'kut!

Carrick couldn't help but chuckle a little bit about this being what he got for flirting back and inviting a Mandalorian to dinner. If that was all that came out of that mission with the Jedi and the Diplomat then Carrick would consider himself a lucky man. Had he intended things to go the way that they had from that moment? Absolutely not. He had hoped, planned, to have Reiel work for him as a sort of bodyguard but he had never thought they would move beyond that.

He was forever grateful that they had, of course, but the Carrick of the past would have found the idea so foreign as to be unthinkable.

Well he hadn't ever really seen Reiel speechless so he was going to have to preserve this moment in his memories for that alone even if he wasn't also enjoying it as a more tender moment as well. He laughed and grinned as she kissed his forehead and nose before grinning into the kiss she smacked right onto his lips.

"Hey hey no need to thank me for it."
he assured her with a little dusting of red on his own cheeks, "I guess it just felt right to me, you know?"

Carrick was absolutely not going to apologise for treating her so well - he enjoyed being able to surprise her like this. Though when she revealed that she had bought a few dresses, both of his eyebrows raised as high as they would go. His Mandalorian wore a lot of different things... wait... no... no she didn't. His Mandalorian wore her beskar or, in certain circumstance, very little.

A dress fit neither category.

"Dresses hmm?"
he asked with a growing smirk as he teased her, "Wouldn't happen to have any to showcase would you?"

The way he easily admitted that it felt right to him to do all these nice things for her melted Reiel's heart. That, and the way Carrick blushed sent the butterflies in her stomach in a frenzy. Had he any idea how beautiful he looked, how soft and wholesome he expressed his feelings for her? And if he did have an inkling, would he take pity on her poor heart and be more gentle than he already was?

She loved him, so much so that she instinctively knew that she wouldn't want to love someone else.

The small Mandalorian, hands still covering her mouth, watched her sorcerer's expression when she'd accidentally blurted out her surprise for him. The way his brows rise in surprise at the revelation emboldened her, her embarrassment dissipating even as he smirked and teased her. Hands dropping to his chest, she shot him an excited smile and nodded vigorously.

"As a matter of fact, I do!" she replied rather proudly, brown eyes shining with anticipation. The fact that he'd never seen her in one only served to further excite her, and instead of imagining what his reactions would be she could see them right now – after she'd changed out of her armor, of course.

"I bought a couple on the way here, and..." she slid off of him, ever mindful of the beskar and durasteel covering her, before wandering off to retrieve her duffel bag with a thrilled, "wait!"

The small Mandalorian jogged back to the balcony, picked up her bag, and headed back to the kitchen-living space. She unclipped her helmet from her belt and placed it on the sofa beside Carrick.

"Give me a few minutes! I'll do a quick change," she teased him, turned back to leave, then faced her sorcerer again with a sheepish grin. "Where's the nearest room, please?"

It wouldn't be a surprise if she'd stripped and changed in front of him, after all.

She would wait for his response before following the given directions. Once she'd find herself in a room the small Mandalorian wasted no time in picking one dress then stripped off her armor and flightsuit, tying her hair in a loose, low bun. Left in her undergarments, she gave her chosen dress a cursory glance before smiling and slipping it on. The dress hugged her upper body perfectly before flowing into a loose skirt, and she let out a bright laugh at seeing how it flared out when she spun twice.

Immediately she knew she was a fan of flowing skirts and dresses. Something about them made her feel more ladylike instead of the kinds that hugged her curves.

Like a wild foundling out for mischief Reiel stepped out of the room, forgetting that she was still barefooted. The small Mandalorian glided almost gracefully towards her sorcerer, skirt flowing with her movements. She spun again, showing off with another bright laugh before stopping in front of him.

The dress showed scars and skin, but she was unbothered. It gave her the same confidence she felt when she was in her armor, and the thought was a rather pleasant surprise.

"Dress number one!" she proclaimed brightly, hands finding the skirts as she curtsied. "I don't know who made this; just bought it from a merchant in Theed before making my way here."

Reiel didn't know what designer dresses were, and she had no idea if the one she was wearing was it.

"What do you think?"

He had seen Reiel out of her clothes and in different variations of under-armour clothing but he had never really seen her in a dress or something similarly overtly impractically feminine. That wasn’t to say that his Mando didn’t ooze femininity – she did when she wanted to – but just that he had never seen her entertain the idea of anything like this. The closest he could recall was some more risque underwear and that was because she could still wear it under her armour if she needed to.

That she had gone out of her way to get a dress? Or multiple dresses?

Well it was an unexpected surprise but a welcome one to be sure. Especially when combined with seeing the way her face kind of morphed to take on a more confident and excited expression when she caught his own reaction. Seemed that he had played right into her plans – he held up his hands physically and metaphorically.

“I’m waiting don’t worry.”
He assured her with a grin, “Always bad form to peak when you’re about to receive a gift after all… follow the hallway to the right, second door on the left is the bedroom. Has a walk-in dressing area at the back.”

When she scurried off, Carrick busied himself in grabbing a bottle of red wine and a couple of glasses before finding the switch that would polarize the glass of the building, effectively dimming the lights and giving them even more privacy. They didn’t even have neighbours but he wasn’t about to admit he’d done it mostly for mood lighting.

He was pouring the two of them some of the wine when Reiel emerged from their bedroom all dressed up with nowhere to go – and no shoes to help her get there. Watching as she just kind of… frolicked… with the dress, he couldn’t help the wide smile that split his face as he handed her a glass to take a sip of the wine.

“I think you’re enjoying yourself a lot and I’m here for it.”
He assured her before adding, “And I think this is the most colourful thing I have ever seen you wearing – and you wear it well my dear. You look like you’re ready for a party.”

Was it the most elegant dress he had ever seen? Absolutely not.

Did it matter? Absolutely not.

She graciously accepted the glass of wine offered to her and, in typical Reiel fashion, downed the drink in one go. The dim lights and the polarized glass weren't exactly hard to miss, obviously – if anything it prompted a smirk from the small Mandalorian now clad in one of the colorful dresses she'd purchased on Theed.

Brown eyes shone brightly with glee as she nodded in response to his comments. Reiel poured herself another glass of wine, smirk turning into a bashful smile at the praises Carrick showered her with. Come to think of it, the dress did look like it was something ladies wore on parties rather than a normal day, but the merchant she'd bought it from assured her that the female population of Naboo wore long dresses even if there was no particular celebration or important occasion.

Reiel glanced down at the dress' long skirt, the end brushing against her ankles. Only then did she notice that she was still barefooted, and another giggle escaped the small Mandalorian's lips.

"I'd love to wear more when we're here," she admitted with a smile. "I know my Dad won't laugh at me back home on Mandalore if he saw me wearing this – I've been wearing variations back in Sorgan and on rare occassions in our living quarters back in our previous covert on Maldo Kreis. Though I won't dare wear a dress on Mandalore," Reiel admitted. "I'd hate to beat up anyone who'd make the mistake of laughing or scoffing at me."

She might not be the best hand-to-hand combatant in the Citadel, but Wulfric had taught her to be feral enough in a close quarter fight. Even Nirem didn't expect such ferocity when they first met.

Reiel took a sip of the wine this time, committing Carrick's smile to memory so she could add it to her collection of sketches that featured mostly him. Maybe she could even bring painting materials back home next time they returned so she could finally try her hand to paint him?

"What are we gonna do today?" the small Mando asked her sorcerer with a smile. She leaned against him, head on his chest. Looking up at him, the smile on her face morphed into a mischievous grin. "Not taking advantage of the complete lack of neighbors, I hope. Though that would be a good thing..."

Reiel's grin widened.

"Because we're gonna step outside, and if there were neighbors around I'd have to put on the helmet and armor again. Also, we've got a nice space outside... would you mind posing for me tomorrow morning? I've brought my sketchpad with me, and I'd really, really love to draw you... and please remind me next time to bring painting materials. I don't know about you, but I plan on filling the walls with portaits... but only if that's alright with you!"

Part of Carrick wanted to point out to Reiel that the wine she was downing was rather expensive but the rest of him didn’t much care. The wine might have cost a pretty penny but he had only bought it to enjoy with her so however she wanted to drink and enjoy it was fine with him. Carrick was just amused that she was enjoying such a small thing as wearing a dress.

He supposed it was his liberal views clashing with her more formal Mandalorian traditions.

“Well if you ever did get into a punch up over being allowed to wear a dress I know where I’m putting my credits.”
He assured her with an amused smirk, “Perish the thought of anyone standing between my Mando and being able to feel like she’s able to express herself as a woman.”

It was said as something of a joke but he meant it – let all those who tried to dictate what Reiel could wear perish. They had no right to regulate how feminine she could feel and act and he would fight anyone who claimed otherwise as well. Carrick got another reminder of how much he enjoyed her being more in touch with herself when she leaned up against him and when he wrapped his arms around her, he encircled her softly.

Her armour was all kinds of useful and he appreciated it’s cultural significance for her but it wasn’t designed to be comfortable for either of them when she was held. Having her like this, held against him while being so soft, so vulnerable? It meant a lot when it was just a regular woman but it meant more when said woman was a Mandalorian warrior.

“We can do whatever we want.”
He teased her, leaning in to nibble at her ear lobe, “There’s no one around for half a dozen miles in any direction and the walls as high… no one can see us. No one knows we’re here.”

He kissed the crook of her neck.

“Reiel you can do whatever you want with me. Sketch me whenever you like – whatever helps you relax and realize that this is our home. You can do whatever you like and no one will ever see or know but us.”

Carrick's assurance earned him another round of bright laughter from his Mando, her brown eyes shining with mirth when she gazed up at him. Reiel's face was flushed but what she felt was far from embarrassment – in fact the thought of him being pretty supportive prompted a smile that was half-grateful and mischievous.

She leaned further into his touch when he began to wrap his arms around her, blindly reaching behind him to put her glass back on the counter to free both her hands so she could return his embrace better. The small Mandalorian shifted until she was fully facing him, small hands clutching at her sorcerer's shoulder. Fingers traced the fabric of his top, a breathy and amused giggle escaping her when he told her that they could practically do whatever they wanted in the privacy of their new home. Her giggling turned up a notch when she felt teeth on her ear lobe, nipping lightly and playfully.

When his lips travelled down the crook of her neck Reiel gasped before whatever she wanted to say dissolved into more giggles. Not because he just hit the right spot but also because it tickled – he knew full well that she was pretty ticklish. Any time they play-fought, hands grasping at each other, the result was nearly always at her loss because she couldn't stop laughing. Even when they were being intimate, one soft brush of his fingers on her sides would send her giggling almost breathlessly.

Eyes alight with mischief, her hands glided from his shoulders, his back, then to his chest, fingers on one hand lazily plucking at the collar of his top. Reiel pulled away a little to meet Carrick's gaze, brown eyes narrowed with barely concealed seduction as she practically purred out,

“I can do whatever I want with you? That's a dangerous power to give to your chief of security, Mister Governor-slash-Secretary.”

Reiel then leaned up, standing on her tippy toes, to briefly press her lips to his. With a grin the hand that was toying at his collar snaked down to lightly grasp Carrick's hip. She pressed butterfly kisses from his lips down to his jaw, then down to the side of his neck. Her grip on his hip tightened, fingers digging greedily through covered flesh. The small Mandalorian quietly took a breath before drawing her attention back up to once again meet his gaze.

With a smirk, she pressed herself even closer to him.

“Do you want to sit down for this?” she asked him vaguely first, before her smirk turned into a mischievous grin. “‘Cause there's no way I'm gonna sketch you while we're standing up.”

She was well aware that she was playing with fire, but as much as her sorcerer loved to tease the heck out of her she loved doing the same to him.

Dangerous power? If there was any other kind of power in the Galaxy he had yet to find it and that was just the way he liked it. Despite his upbringing as a Jedi, Carrick had begun to notice that he very much enjoyed taking walks on the wilder, more dangerous, side. His choice in partner was just another example of that in many ways - what was more dangerous to a Jedi than a Sith if not a Mandalorian warrior? And when he put himself entirely at the mercy of a Mandalorian warrior, what happened?

He grinned as she purred at him, half straddling him with a look that was pure seduction. This was exactly why he enjoyed flirting with the dangerous things relating to power in the Galaxy. Having a usually armoured warrior woman atop of him was just one of the more attractive aspects of said power.

"Well I think it's safe to say that I enjoy a little bit of danger in my life."
he teased back with a grin, "And if I didn't get myself in quite so much trouble, Miss Crowholde, you might find yourself with much less to do with yourself."

Groaning ever so slightly under her most tender of touches, Carrick had to remind himself that there had been the teased promise of being sketched somewhere in the (seemingly) distant past. He was invested in where this all seemed to be going but he was also curious about the sketch as well so he decided that he was, for once, going to behave.

"Fine."
he growled out lightly before sitting himself down on the sofa again, eyebrow raised, "Is this the part where I ask you to draw me like one of your Mando Men?"

Reiel only let out a soft chuckle at his teasing, her hands still wandering as she followed Carrick back to the sofa. She remained standing even as he sat down, however, one hand gently caressing the side of his neck before she pulled away. Honestly speaking she didn't expect that he would be interested with the sketch right now. Who was she to deny him that?

Another laugh, this one bright and filled with mirth, slipped past her lips when he asked a very specific question. The small Mandalorian was torn between shaking her head "no" and going along with answering. In the end she didn't reply, simply winking at him and shrugging before she retraced her steps back to the room she'd changed in. Sorting through her clothing and digging up her sketchpad and a case of pencils were easy enough, but when she found another small case – this one for a pair of reading glasses – a smile lit up her face.

Buir never liked it when she strained her eyes too much, so the Zabrak took it upon himself to acquire a pair for her. He always complained about how she kept sketching and drawing during her free time, unheeding of the lack of light in her room back on Mandalore. And while there were no issues regarding her eyesight, old Wulfric kept on telling her that prevention was much better than a cure.

And besides, the glasses helped whenever she's drawing something too detailed. She only said that she would be doing a sketch, but Reiel suddenly felt the desire to impress her sorcerer.

Two small cases – one for the pencils and the other for the glasses – in one hand and the sketchpad on the other, Reiel found her way back to Carrick and plopped on the other end of the sofa. Feet tucked beneath her, the small Mandalorian first put the glasses on before retreiving a pencil. She flipped open her sketchpad, pages flicking from landscape sketches, members of the clan in full armor as they went about their businesses, amongst many other everyday depiction of Clan Crowholde's life on Mandalore, until she got to a blank page.

She had another sketchpad, hidden away in her ship. It was filled halfway with sketches of her sorcerer, ranging from his appearances in the holonet broadcasts and those drawn from memory. Most of the sketches were of Carrick smiling, and there was even one with him sitting behind his desk, asleep. She'd committed that peaceful look in her memory and found herself sketching late at night.

What would he think if he saw that particular sketchpad? Would he think she was weird... or creepy? Or would he find it endearing that he managed to occupy her thoughts even when he was away – mosy especially when he was away?

"Not Mando men, no," she finally replied with a light chuckle as she peeres at him through her glasses. Reiel added, teasing, "You're way hotter than other Mando men I know, anyway."

"Alright, cyare, make yourself comfortable. This is gonna take a loooong while,"
she reminded him with another laugh, her face turning red. This was the first time he'd pose for her, and already she was feeling flustered because she knew she would be staring a lot. The small Mandalorian just hoped that Carrick wouldn't be teasing her throughout the... session.

Carrick had to admit that he was curious as to what she would come out of the room with - if it was going to be a sketchpad or if it was going to be the lack of a dress. The two of them were enjoying being domestic but it had been some time since they had gotten a chance to be with each other in that sense purely due to the distances that their work put between them. She was often away doing Mandalorian things while he was often working in his capacity as Secretary of Defense after all.

Still, he waited with no small amount of impatience and excitement for the answer - because both were intriguing to him though for different reasons of course.

Seeing her putting on a pair of glasses was interesting though he would admit that seeing her lover looking the part of a sexy librarian was somewhat distracting from the sketchpad and pencils she also had. When he managed to drag his attention to them he grinned a little bit before deciding to relax on his end of the sofa. He wasn't going to exactly strike a pose for her - it just wasn't in him to be that showy in such an intimate setting. Carrick allowed her flattery without comment - he could take a compliment damn it - and instead just smirked.

"Well then how about the truth?"
he winked, "Draw me like I'm your man, because I am."

He sipped at his wine, wiggling his eyebrows at her over the rim of the glass.

"Nothing wrong with an intimate session with my lover that lasts a long time is there?"

She was getting so much better at getting a read on her beloved sorcerer ever since he admitted that he loved her, too. And while his confession was made bittersweet by her Uncle's passing, the memory still made Reiel blush hard like a schoolgirl – even more so whenever her own assurances about already knowing how he felt for her played in her head. The small Mandalorian didn't have to assure herself nor fuss too much about as to what Dell would have felt knowing that the other Mandalorian was now watching over her in the afterlife. Her Uncle would be really happy for her, and anyone who told her otherwise would no doubt receive a punch to the throat.

Reiel liked how Carrick was looking at her and how he seemed to be distracted by the glasses she wore. She wanted to make a joke about being a sexy librarian but she was too flustered at the reality of him now posing (he wasn't really posing, but still) for her so she could sketch him in person. She wanted to show him right then and there the previous sketches she made of him but decided to save those for later. The small Mandalorian had a dashing Governor-Secretary of Defense to sketch, and even if it was just a sketch she resolved to have it drawn well like its predecessors.

He's just so godsdamned gorgeous sitting on the other end of the sofa and relaxing, and if he would just reach out to lay a palm over her heart she knew he wouldn't be surprised how hard it was beating for him.

Though the red on her face, neck, and shoulders were already dead giveaways, so...

Draw him like he's her man... because he was?

Reiel was torn between punching Carrick's arm or giving him a kiss on the lips. He knew too damn well what he did to her and he was always taking advantage! It was unfair! If it was his plan to make her fall harder and even crazier for him, then he was absolutely succeeding!

And that fucking eyebrow wiggle!

Slowly, Reiel lifted her sketchpad to cover her red face for a few seconds in an attempt to compose herself. While it wasn't exactly successful, it made her calm down a bit. Lowering the sketchpad to her lap once more, the small Mandalorian crossed the distance between them and pressed her forehead to his. With a wicked grin, she lightly tapped his chest with her pencil.

"You're just saying all that because you missed me so much," she teased him, honey browns meeting greys. "And this isn't really a secret, but I missed you so much. Just tellin' you, even if you already know."

With a wink, she returned to her place and began sketching. And while closely and personally taking in every detail of the man she loved so she could do the sketch justice like many that were made before it, Reiel still couldn't help but stare a little too long. The small Mandalorian would shoot her sorcerer a sunny smile every now and again, cheeks blazing, before returning to her sketch. Everything about him was so distracting, she knew that he could tell that she was also focused on the task at hand.

It seemed that Reiel was getting better about him dropping little lines about his own feelings for her. He had been hesitant about his own feelings towards her for the longest time but if he was grateful for his time as a Jedi for anything it was a greater understanding of himself. It allowed him to defend himself politically speaking because he knew his own weaknesses better than anyone who could try and use them against him. Mastering himself was something that was always going to come i handy and once he acknowledged what he felt towards Reiel it was only a matter of accepting it as part of himself.

Seemed she was doing so more and more as well.

Still, he sipped at his wine and allowed himself the belief that he could, truly, relax. It was a belief he knew he would never truly be able to believe fully and he would likely end up needing to remind himself again and again that he was supposed to be relaxing. His mind was not one built with relaxation in mind and his training as both a Jedi and a politician had done their best to remove any idea of true rest from him.

Instead he took his pleasures and his relaxing moments where he could so he was better able to enjoy himself when they came up. Though one of them was teasing Reiel.

"If only I had a camera - I don't think anyone would believe me about how much you blush otherwise."

He paused for a moment, closing his eyes for a second when they pressed their foreheads against each other. Such displays of simple intimacy had been foreign to him for so long that he enjoyed them every time they occurred. Leaning back, he made a show of thinking about it for a moment.

"You're right."
he admitted with a small smile, "I think we need to do more work together - keep you from wandering too far so we don't miss each other too much."

Of course his work often took him away just as much as her's if not more so.
