DESCRIPTION
The Dread Virus was created by a group of ambitious Guardians and Legionnaires who amuse themselves as the future return of the Dread Masters, a collective once feared in legend as proprietors of chaos and fear. The Dread Virus' designed purpose was to sow chaos and fear into areas unaffiliated with the Sith Eternal, to increase the strains on bureacracy attempting to quell troubles conjured by the Dread Virus entities and pave the cultural shifts into a state of fear, ripe for the Sith Eternal.

The Dread Virus 'entities' are individual virus programs propagated by the Dread Virus, not serving as a hivemind in order to limit the potential for contamination if counter-measures were to be created in order to destroy or locate other entities. As such, while a Dread Virus entity is able to infect a system or droid with the Dread Virus, it will be a copy of the virus itself and not a carbon-copy of the individual entity. This is an intentional design by the makers in order to breed individuality and thus survival of the fittest, to force the Dread Virus entities to adapt.

Despite the prowess of some of the makers, the Dread Virus has yet to assume a major network threat to the Jedi and other enemies of the Sith Eternal, in part due to the strong firewalls of the HoloNet allowing the virus to spread en mass. It has a variable success rate in infecting systems and droids****.

LEGALITY
The Dread Virus is technically illegal in all corners of space, though has yet to formally be categorized as such due to its secretive nature, having yet to be identified/discovered. The Sith Eternal has kept quiet on the existence of the Dread Virus, and its existence is known to some Guardians and Legionnaires, a leak having occurred but the source unknown.

INTENT
I created the Dread Virus in order to serve as the form of two of my upcoming characters, both being Dread Virus entities. Like I noted in multiple occasions, the individual Dread Virus entities cannot replicate their personalities; furthermore, I will be limiting their transfer capabilities to only outside of combat or deadly situations (in other words, the entities cannot transfer to another body to avoid death, regardless in combat or not, e.g. bomb, ship crash, etc.).

While intended for personal use, I am not limited it to personal use. Anyone can use the Dread Virus as a PC, NPC, or plot device. My only request is I be notified of its usage (not for approval; simply so I'm aware, though of course not enforceable).

I am not aware of any tech that mirrors this. As for a physical body, PCs will be required to use a current approved tech droid or submit a new one for approval. NPCs may be generic non-specific droids or systems; limited to story-purposes and what is approved for the plot.

ADVANCED TECH
Present Version: No. The Dread Virus cannot take over major enemy assets nor assume control over droid PCs; my assumption would be that it could not infect PCs' droids without users' permission.

Future Updated Version: Yes. Potentially in future I may work on plots to improve its hacking capabilities and infecting capabilities (largely for story-purposes only and less so for the actual PCs to become OP. Any upgrade would be submitted for review and its usage limited to the approved plots.

NOTATIONS

*Though programmed for loyalty to the Sith Eternal, its directive towards chaos and spread of fear has led to more than one copy of the Dread Virus entities going rogue, even going against the Sith Eternal.

**As like with other viruses, theoretically it can replicate. However, this will be limited by story-purposes. Thus, while a PC could 'infect' a network, it would not create a replica of the character and would not be usable as a replacement NPC or anything of the like. The virus naturally does not self-replicate in every chance it gets, choosing to be selective and thus limit the chances for counter-measures to develop.

***The reason for why it is being submitted as "other" rather than "droid" is because it will not be used everytime in the same droid body. For example, the PC I had in mind would use a TC-SC droid.

****In other words, limited to story-purpose's parameters and prevent it from being OP.

The Dread Virus entity known as Trill was created by a collective of Sith Eternal Guardians and Legionnaires that style themselves as the future return of the Dread Masters, a consortium of Dark Side practitioners from millennia ago who strove for the spread of fear and chaos. The Dread Virus - including the entity known as Trill - was designed to spread their message to the galaxy. The entity Trill in particular operates as an official member of the Sith Eternal as opposed to many of it autonomous brethren. Newly created, just like the virus itself, its programming is in the beta version, resulting in weaker technological capabilities than desired. However, that has not stopped it from seeking to carry out its mission, to stain the galaxy in fear, ripening it for the new dynasty of Sith.

Commonly when operating, it will create different aliases for different jobs. To hinder its existence as a non-sentient, it carves its origin story into less-reputable worlds where identities are more difficult to very, such as Hutt Space and the Outer Rim.

Like many Dread Virus entities, its personality matrix is a paradox. It strives for chaos, yet sows that chaos through meticulous orderly planning (albeit its chaotic nature allows it flexibility to adaptation and even willing to abandon a project all together if deemed likely to fail). When guised as a sentient, it will come off as amicable, even a little cowardly. This particular entity views the Jedi as a challenge, viewing Jedi in disarray and panic as the ultimate success. As such, it has been known to implement projects that may indirectly target Jedi.

While Trill is capable of hacking systems, it will caution against more advanced systems in order to prevent the risk of being assaulted by electronic counter-measures. As such, despite being an artificial intelligence that exists primarily in droids, it is not against using droids to fill in more dangerous roles; in essence, due to droids inability to truly feel fear and benefit from the Dread Virus' machinations, it views droids as nothing more than expendable, even to the point of loathing; this has yet to bleed into self-loathing due to its own nature, but the potential exists.

Trill shares the same capabilities as other Dread Virus entities and whatever droid body it inhabits, which typically is the TC-SC infiltration droid; any instance where the entity is using a different body, it will be denoted explicitly in the first post of a thread. Trill can transfer to another body, but cannot during combat. If the transfer is interrupted, the entity will be irreparably damaged, resulting in logic instability (akin to insanity) before eventually falling into a fatal error in processing.
