Hey all,

Since we're all rarely online at the same time (much less available at the same time), let's do a majority of our chatting here. If we have outside discussions that are relevant, we should post a quick synopsis here.

This thread should be for brainstorming and broad planning- planning specific threads/missions could have their own threads for the sake of organization.

We should all be on the same page. For geographical reference, we'll use this map:

http://terminalvelocitygames.com/goodies/Star Wars Galaxy Map.jpg

As of 10/11/2010, the rough outline is that the Hutt Empire controls the Outer Rim, with most of the fighting occurring on the Mid Rim. Our innermost outpost is Iktotch.

The two plans that we're about to implement are the Invasion of Bothuwai and the Invasion of Denon. Denon will cut the Republic off from a major section of space, and Bothuwai will give us a launching pad to raid the Mid Rim. We'll have to capture specific key planets- these planets as best I can figure are:

*=Completed
-=Planned
High Priority Targets-
-Bothan System (close to Hutt Space, sizeable fleet)
*Manaan (Kolto)
-Denon (Trade Planet- Hydian Way/Corellian Run)
Yag’Dhul (Shipyard, Trade Planet- Rimma Trade Route/Corellian Trade Spine)
Sullust (Shipyard)
Vergesso Asteroids (Resources)
Nkllon (Resources)
*Mustafar (Resources)
Fondor (Shipyard)
Ilum (Force Crystals)
Bilbringi (Shipyard)
Brentaal (Trade Planet- Hydian Way/Perlemian Trade Route, close to Coruscant)
Coruscant (Capital)
Dubrillion (Resources)
Kuat (Shipyard, Culture)
Duro (Shipyard)
Corellia (Shipyard, Culture)
Alderaan (Culture)
Naboo (Culture)
Carida (Military, Culture)

There is no specific order to this, just clockwise starting from Hutt Space. I believe the Shipyard and Resource planets would be a good place to start, cutting Republic power to shreds.

The best plan of action that I can come up with is currently this:

The attacks on Denon and Bothuwai will occur at the same time. The Battle of Denon will block Republic reinforcements to the Bothan System, allowing us to take the system- the Taung and Bogan efforts at Denon should help them hold. Denon will cut off access, and will be a staging ground to attack Duro and from there Corellia, taking out major shipyards and cutting extremely deep into Republic territory later on. From Denon we can also attack Yag'Dhul, which will give us another Shipyard as well as cutting off another two trade routes to the Republic, leaving an entire fourth of the galaxy open to invasion with only a few fights. We'll round up all the stranded Republic vessels and use them to attack a major Core world unsuspected.

Are there any other ideas, ideas on how to implement the plans, or any comments so far?

Since we're more than a month into it and we've got a victory on the Bothwui Shipyard and we've got an almost certain defeat in the capital of Denon, any modifications of the original plan? And are there any considerations for the future based on the results of these battles in terms of where we attack next and with what personnel do we attack?

I'm assuming we'll win Bothawui, as we've got Darksaber in the air to keep control of the land. Once Land is won, theres no reason for space to continue, and reinforcements should be on the way there as well.
Either way, Bothawui was the original goal. Denon is still a prime target, and we will return at some point, but until then we'll go about with the original plan and move across the Corellian Run to the Rimma Route.

Our new priority target is Yag'Dhul- Sullust is already a Hutt world, so we don't need that. Capturing Yag'Dhul will essentially do what Denon did- we'll cut off a (smaller) fragment of space, and can use those resources to attack Denon again.

As a side job, we also need to take Nkllon for materials for warships. A victory there gives us the justification of new, more ships, while the Republic defending doesn't give them an advantage. As long as we press the attack the Republic wont be able to muster a counter assault, and they have too wide of an area to protect to venture into Hutt Space for the time being.
