Causally humming to herself, a slight female figure walked along the sand blasted streets of one of the many Rebel settlements that was dotted on Savareen's Sandy surface, despite her hardly noticeable build and stature her hair was more than enough to catch the attention of who ever happened to be looking in her general direction, the various rippling strands of yellow and orange hues casting an illusion like effect as if the figure’s hair was set alight. As the fiery haired female continued down the street her gaze darted from one side of the street to the other, taking every visual sight that the street had to offer.

Still she continued along the street not caring for the fact that whom ever she had walked past cast her a curious and occasionally disapproving glance as she walked by, perhaps not because of her fire hued hair but probably more weighted to the overall dirty appearance of the figure, who was still dressed in her overalls, albeit the upper half was tied around her waist , leaving just a simple black vest top to be seen, in addition to the countless marks of grease and engine oil that adorned her visible skin all the way from her face down to the very tips of her fingers in numerous patches and marks, not that the figure really cared as to how the locals saw her, after all she had more or less just recently stepped off of a freighter that had recently docked.

For the past month she had worked from one freighter to the other, swiftly travelling the length of the universe, in order to keep just one step ahead of the Imperial port authorities based on Roonadan, that is if they were even actively seeking her out. Regardless if she were being persued or not, she was following her dad’s request, for her to keep moving until she could find something that she could settle down within and make a life out of, as of yet she was still to find that something that she would want to actively become a part of, so for now she had simply gone about helping the various rebel cells and going from ship to ship earning her passage by performing routine maintenance aboard the freighters as they carried both her and the cargo between worlds.

Stopping dead in her tracks, her head turning round to double check what she had believed to see through the pane of glass, an audibly excited “ooooooh” sound escaping the young figure’s lips as she pressed herself against the glass pane, her eyes focusing squarely on the long cylindrical object sat at the forefront of the shop display. “Theres a Sale on in the tool merchant” The figure commented to herself, as she regarded the tool that was held on display. “Could do with a new hydro spanner, my FastTurn is a bit battered, and some more sparking pins for my welder” She continued, talking to no one in particular other than perhaps herself. With a dull thud, the figure’s duffle bag slid from her shoulder before falling onto the pavement below, swiftly followed by the figure as she knelt down onto the floor beside her bag.

Rummaging through the bulk that made up the contents of her bag, her hands easing apart the various articles of clothing that had hastily been stuffed into the bag along side various tools, components and grease stained hand towels, until her fingers touched upon the canvas wrapping of her credits purse, situated at the very bottom of her bag. Drawing the small purse outwards, the figure unzipped the small canvas bag, before threading her fingers through the opening to riffle through the contents, the figure quickly counting the cumulative numerical value of the contents before looking towards the price tag that was sat upon the tool that had caught her attention. Keeping the credit purse in one hand, the other took hold of the duffel bag as the figure disappeared into the shop.

Emerging several minutes later, the duffel bag now once again resting upon the figure’s shoulders the sole addition to the figure having entered the store was the branded bag that was clutched tightly within the figure’s left hand, clearly a result of her impulse buying, something that would more or less be understandable for someone of mid teen age, of which the figure would fall under if one were to try to gauge her age by her appearance. Continuing back along the path she followed, her gaze darting from one side of the street to the other as the casual humming reverberated from her lips, her gaze raising as she regarded the gradual change in the type of business operations that were in place, gone were the simple goods stores, now replaced with various bars and inns and the occasional eatery.

As her gaze started to survey the various bars and cantinas that lined the street the young teenager’s gaze fell upon a Tatooinian food vendor selling an array of freshly cooked dishes. Almost as if on cue her stomach grumbled with a dull groan, announcing its sudden displeasure of being empty and insisting that the teenager remedy the situation, by Quing up and waiting to place her order.

Alika fixed her jacket collar and readjusted it over her shoulders as she hopped out of a hovertaxi, landing on the ground with a slight bend of her knees and scanning the surrounding environment with a blink of her eyes. She brushed a hand over the patch on her shoulder, setting off into the crowd while at the same time checking her schedule on a watch. A little time to burn...maybe. Not that she had anywhere to go, as the ship she was waiting for hadn't even docked yet. An inn with a flickering sign sat across the street from where she was, the spray of street water peppering the back of her calves as her ride sputtered away, leaving her with a scowl. The woman crossed the street. She was expecting a ship in a day's time to pick her up in hangar 6--as of now she needed to sit back and relax.

A hand patted her credit pouch to check if she wasn't dead broke as Alika entered the inn, asking for a room to be scheduled for an hour from now ans finding no open space. Figured, with her luck. A finger drummed on her belt as she turned around with a thank you leaving her tongue, setting back out into the masses to look for another place to stay, something to eat, or anything to pass the time. Kaz could sleep on the street if she had to. Not like she hadn't before, and the snub blaster tucked in her shirt was more than enough protection.

A flash of familiar ginger hair caught her attention on the street, tracking her view to a stand full of good food.

The light causal humming emanating from the, slight teenage girl had progressed into a slight on the spot shuffle with an open palm parting against her naval. The combination of the Fiery haired teenagers cheerful mood, sudden hunger pangs and attempts to subdue her grumbling stomach had all boiled down into a singular presentation of what many would consider to be strange behaviour. Though to the teen and those who knew her, this was Eisa's 'normal'.

Pursing her lips up in thought as she shuffled closer to the counter, her eyes scanning over the menu, focusing in on the various dishes that she liked. Somewhat she was glad to be able to venture out into the open beyond being cooped up in a engine room or a dusty hidden Base somewhere, a change of scenery was good. A change in the local meal offers was much more welcomed to the teen, having grown sick and tired of ration packs.

A slight nagging feeling teased at the back of her mind as Eisa continued to wait in line to place her order, something somehow was giving her the impression that she was being watched, as likely as it would be given her impromptu on the spot boogey. But unlike the fleeting glances that were directed towards her this one felt like It was lingering. Narrowing her eyes slightly the teen turned her attention away from the menu back to her surroundings, scanning over the various faces in the crowd around her. Before her gaze locked with that of someone all to familiar, a broad grin crossed the teens features in recognition of the dark haired female. "Next....." a voice rung out from behind her forcing the teen to spin her head back round to see she was now next in line, a slight bewildered look crossed the teens features as she was now visibly torn between the appearance of the dark haired female, and that of food. "Next!!!" the now impatient voice rung out. "Ummm.... Five large boxes of chokie" the teen blurted out mid panic as she flipped her gaze between that of the vendor and the older female "Keep it to the side, be back in five" she added as she handed over a few credit strictly before breaking out of the que and making an rushed beline towards the dark haired woman.

A flash of orange and yellow hued hair, a broad cheerful grin slipped through the crowd before finding it's way to Alika's side and throwing her arms around the older woman. "Kaz!!" Eisa cheerfully exclaimed as she released the fellow rebel from her excitable hug. "You made it to Savareen too?" she added, although the questioning tone was perhaps wasted on the simple fact that the answer pretty obvious. "Been here long? What's new? Have only just got here myself, nobody said it'd be so bright though" the fiery haired teen spoke out in almost rapid fire as her hand moved up to her forehead to create an impromptu visor to block out the sun's glare.

Alika watched as Eisa gave herself a dilemma of ordering food over greeting her friend, a smile forming on her face soon after as well as a smirk. The kid was a pleasant person to be around, especially because of the little funny things she did at random intervals. Her eyebrows raised in surprise as the younger girl ran over and embraced her in a hug, which she caught (barely) and returned, chuckling slightly while she received rapid fire questions from the teen, mainly about why and how she exactly got here. Her eyes glanced back to the food vendor as she ran a hand through Eisa's hair and messed it up moreso than it probably already was.

"Well, let's just say 'I know a guy'. Magical powers to bend time and space and show up anywhere I want."

Alika scoffed.

"No, nothing's new, only been here couple days or so. As for the brightness, welcome to what we call in the galaxy a desert."

It felt good to see people she knew, especially in such high spirits.

A light chuckle escaped the teens grinning lips as Kaz ruffled her hair and spoke about some wonderous means as to how she had gotten to Savareen, her face melting into an inquisitive look. "I don't know about that bending time and space Kaz!" she commented lightly as her bright emerald eyes looked up to the dark haired rebel "Sounds too much like science fiction if you ask me! Hope at least he had beer since you was looking for a guy and beer" she added with a cheeky grin, before spinning her gaze over towards the food vendor to check up on her food order. Fortunately the man hadn't finished prepping the large family sized order just yet, so it wouldn't risk getting cold just yet, then again worst case scenario she could always delegate collecting the food to the hovering droid that was lingering close by trying to track down its owner.

A light grin crossed her features as the droid finally locked in on its owner. "Ditto can you grab my food please" she called out before turning her attention back to Alika. Her bright emerald eyes rolling at the indistinguishable chirps as the droid started to grumble about being used as the teen's pack mule. "You gonna be here for long?" Eisa inquired lightly as she ran her hand through her hair before briefly scratching her scalp, "Been here for a few weeks now, but was over helping at the oil rigs cos some spanner cocked up the pneumatic lines" she continued before trailing off with a light shrug and a giggle. "Foreman wasn't happy about that. But I think it was more cos I showed him up" she added with a broad grin.

The fiery haired teens eyes lit up as Ditto drew close and chirped at the two, her attention moving over towards The hovering droid before retrieving a box of chokie and offering it to Alika "want a box? Don't worry I always order more than I should, everyone thinks I've got hollow legs given how tiny I am" Eisa spoke as she handed a box over to the dark haired rebel, not really giving her much option for refusal as no sooner had it been handed over the teen had grabbed another box and was already opening it up and digging in.

"Sadly, no guy with a bottle of beer. I take it you've been rather unlucky as well."

Alika eyed the droid, Ditto, as it chirped in irritation and went to fetch Eisa's food. Her attention refocused back to Eisa, who asked how long she was planning on being here before explaining her own misadventures here with the rest of the Alliance. She smiled, appreciating that the girl was at least having some ounce of fun here. Kaz didn't have that luck--so far. She had a couple times where she could go out riding, but the main reason she was here was to get her new assignment. She lightly shoved Eisa on the shoulder as she watched the droid return.

"I'll probably be here for a few weeks, maybe less. I need to get into my new assignment, y'know. After that, who knows? How long are you gonna be stuck here, anyways?"

The droid returned with the massive amount of food that had been ordered, Alika's eyes widening a little. There was no way the five foot something teenager would eat that much. Then again, she'd seen a lot of weird things in the galaxy. Alika was about to refuse the box before she found it in her hands, sighing in mock irritation as the teen opened up her own, prompting her to do the same. Good food was good food, after all.

Shrugging lightly as Alika enquired if she had a luck with any of the locals taking her fancy, before rocking her head from side to side with a a curled lip. "Nothing really, there was a cute guy on one of the freighters I worked on to get here, but he seemed more interested in prongs rather than sockets if you know what I mean?" Eisa commented with a light sigh, before picking up a piece of fresh chokie and tucking in rather unceremoniously. Her emerald hued eyes keeping eye contact with the older woman as she intently listened to the latest activities and movements of her fellow rebel.

As the conversation shifted to enquire about her own future movements, the teen gestured for a moment whist she finished chewing. "probably another week or so" she responded initially before picking up another piece of the tatooinian cuisine and hastily eating it. "I tells ya working out in the heat pike this really gives you an appetite" she added going on a slight tangent with a light chuckle "be headed off to tatooine soon to check out some big big machines, but then I'll make my way back here I think" the teen continued before turning her attention down towards her open food container and picking out another piece of Chokie.

No sooner had she finished with the latest morsel of food the teen, pursed her lips in thought. "Do kinda like it here though, got lots of things that need fixing, plenty of ships to repair" she spoke out as the looked around her surroundings briefly. "Might not be able to do as much as you guys in the brigands do, but think can help out keeping things moving at least" she continued with a light sigh. guessing from thier previous conversations that Alika was often among those who got thier hands dirty in combat and other chaotic situations, something that the teen knew she was barely much use in. Granted she had a pistol often to hand, as did most of her fellow peers. But being proficient enough to use it effectively was a different matter entirely, Eisa knew she was better equipped to dive in and quickly fix a ruptured coolant pipe before an engine could overheat and go critical, with greater ease than hitting a moving target.

Alika snickered as Eisa described her own experiences with life as a rebel hitching rides on random freighters and any free ships headed to where she needed to go. She looked out at the crowds before returning her eyes to the tiny teen, opening up her own box of food to eat from. In all honesty, it had probably been a day since she'd had anything substantially nutritious. Maybe a bar or two, some water. She just didn't get hungry often. Not necessarily a bad thing--sometimes. She took a bite of the food and shut her eyes for a brief moment to savor the flavor before she chuckled and continued talking.

"I'm sure there's someone out there keeping an eye on your stern, eh? I don't doubt it, especially with us naughty bunch."

She smiled and listened once more as the mechanic detailed much of what Alika had said about herself. No surprise, this place seemed like a good fit for the redhead. Plus the fighting lifestyle didn't fit for a girl like her. Too scrawny, honest--it wouldn't have gone well. But she could probably hold her own if need be. Alika ruffled her hair again before injecting her thoughts on the matter.

"To me, a mechanic's much more useful than a laserbrain with half a wit in him. Plus, fighting isn't always good for one's health and spirit, y'know. Nor looking for guys. One in the same at times, heh."

A broad smile crossed the fiery haired teens features as she flushed a little in the cheek, "No doubt" she responded lightly before looking down over her coveralls twisting slightly "though I guess the overalls I'm always in aren't the most flattering of choices" she added with a light chuckle as she returned her attention briefly towards Kaz to cast a light grin before reaching down back into her food container.

A light chuckle escaped her lips as Alika ruffled up her hair once again, her bright emerald eyes looking up to the older dark haired woman. Even though Kaz was making her look even scruffyer, Eisa really didn't mind afterall given the majority of her time was often spent marred in grease, having ruffled up hair was perhaps one of her more presentable looks.

Intently she listened to Alika talk about the fact that being a mechanic was much more useful a tole to fulfil, whilst she polished off the remainder of the food in the container. "I suppose" Eisa responded initially as she closed up the empty container and swapped it out for a fresh box and opening it up "But I do kinda feel bad for you guys" she eventually added whilst picking through the food items to pick out one of the more crispyer portions. "You know, you guys are always risking life and limb, the worst I get to deal with is a coolant gas leak or a fuel fire" the teen continued before picking up and eating the selected piece of Chokie, "want to try and do something that will help you all out, like like get somewhere safe set up to hide in or something that keeps you safe" she reasoned. "Do like catching up with everyone and hearing about all your adventures"

Alika let her smile grow, feeling better that she could at least make someone blush. She took another bite out of the street food and was really glad that Eisa ordered so much of it. She honestly felt a lot better than she did earlier, all things considered. She listened as the redhead explained her point of view on the fighting units. Yeah, contrary to popular belief, not everyone was a hero like they were made out to believe. Kaz wished it were so, but sadly there were a lot of bad people who were indirectly doing good things in the Alliance. Hence it was the Alliance. She brought Eisa into a half hug and chuckled softly.

"I take comfort in the fact that you're keeping the freighters I'm stuck on running good and new. Plus, I'd prefer you kept out of the line of fire till you're completely ready for what you're gonna see. I like the innocent Eisa I'm seeing right now. Reminds me of me, only ginger."

Smiling as she ever often did, Eisa nodded in response to Kaz's affirmation that in her own way she did what she could to keep the ship's they all used safe and in the skies. A small comfort to the teen, it was at the very least she could do, afterall the likes of Kaz kept her safe, it was only fair she kept everything that was needed operational.

The smile did soften a little as Alika closed off with her comment about Eisa's innocence reminding the older woman of a much younger version of her self. That in itself made her chuckle., what illicited a frown however was the comment on her hair colour. Teasing a few strands into her hand and holding infront of her eyes, almost going cockeyed in the process of checking the colour. "Aww Kriff! I need to get some more dye, it's faded out again" she muttered in a slight annoyance, well what could be classed as annoyance given the fiery haired teens cheery disposition.

"It's meant to be yellow and orange layers" Eisa explained as she returned her attention back to Alika and her own meal. "Engine rooms are so dull all the greys and metals everywhere, it's nice to bring a bit of colour" she added before grabbing another morsel and eating it.

It was dangerous, ground work in Imperial territory.

Good thing Eisa wasn't completely involved in that stuff. Alika would have died if she found out the girl had gotten into trouble with Imps doing an operation behind hostile territory. Almost ironic, really. As she complained about her hair dye fading, Kaz merely chuckled to herself while the mechanic justified her bright coloring choices. True, she did stand out. It provided a change of pace for things and made her more identifiable. Alika smiled and replied.

"Well I think it looks fine. Better than my coloring, anyways. I blend in with the crowd. Both good and bad, I suppose."
