DESCRIPTION​

The VCX-350 light freighter is a model of transport which is manufactured by the Corellian Engineering Corporation. Part of the VCX series, which was intended to replace the popular YT series but instead ended up running in parallel to it, the VCX-350 was introduced just after the Galactic Civil War, and has had an exceptionally long production run, with CEC continuing to produce variants up through the present day.

The VCX-350 has decent specifications. Operated by a crew of 3, it can carry 9 passengers and has consumables sufficient for up to 6 months in space. It can haul up to 250 standard tons of cargo. Sublight performance is average, with a top speed of 45 MGLT, however the VCX-350 does boast a class 1 hyperdrive. The ship is armed with a single dorsally mounted dual light laser cannon, and is protected by a medium shield projector. Like most CEC products, the VCX-350 is highly modular and easy to repair and modify.

The VCX-350 is a popular long-haul transport, used for carrying medium-sized cargoes to distant or otherwise remote locations, often virtually non-stop. Its light armament does make it vulnerable to pirate attack, however, and it often travels in convoy with other freighters and more heavily armed escorts.
