NAME: Varia Shinyuza
FACTION: Five Syndicates
RANK: Scoundrel
SPECIES: Twi'lek
AGE: 23
GENDER: Female
HEIGHT: 5'7"
WEIGHT: 115 lbs
FORCE SENSITIVE: No

APPEARANCE: Varia Shinyuza’s skin is a deep azure like a bottomless ocean, and horizontal stripes colored a lighter blue segment the back of her lekku. Her irises sparkle a brilliant orange even as the outside edges are invaded with tints of sapphire. Despite the fiery appearance of her eyes the expression they hold is cold and distant. The button nose that sits above her full lips is covered in light dots that extended over her cheekbones, giving an impression of human freckles.

Black paint covers her fingernails, which end in vicious looking points, but Varia does little else to modify her appearance. Her legs are slightly longer than average, and being only 115 lbs she looks extremely slim. A long healed burn scar splashed across her right forearm, some slight hints of purple and pink still visible in the affected area. She does feel self-conscious about the area and usually keeps it hidden under a black leather vambrace, that hides a few secrets of it's own.

SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES: Varia’s two great passions are flying and slicing. She was essentially raised aboard a starship and she picked up the in and outs very quickly. Her life in the void gave her some lingual experience, she can speak Basic and Twi’leki, and understand Droidspeak and Huttese. Despite being on a simple cargo freighter her expertise began to branch out to other ships as her father taught her everything he knew about a variety of craft. Varia’s thirst for knowledge led her to study every technical manual she could find on the holonet. That massive interconnected database also introduced the twi’lek to her… less reputable pursuit. While starting only as an innocent desire to know more about the top of the line or even unreleased ships, she soon realized the value that information held to the right people.

Varia stays fit to keep her reflexes fast and mind sharp, but doesn’t do any special training. She never really found a need in her life personal combat, she can hold a blaster in the right direction and has decent aim, but she always feels more comfortable firing a weapon mounted on a starship. Her sharp nails can make a wicked surprise weapon in melee but her slim frame makes it difficult to fight much of anything in sustained combat. If engaged she much rather talk her way out or escape. This is when her slender frame and flexibility come in handy, she can slip away in an instant, and living on a ship taught her how to squeeze into confined spaces to make repairs in inconvenient areas.

PERSONALITY:
Varia seems slightly distant to most people, but that’s just a smoke screen to hide the fact that she’s nervous around unfamiliar people. When she feels more comfortable with someone she’s actually a cheery person, willing to lend a hand or share a laugh. When she’s working intently on slicing she has a tendency to talk to herself, which she’ll always claim is just her talking to R3-N2. She doesn’t always pick up on more subtle social cues and can sometimes end up in embarrassing situations as a result. Varia is extremely loyal to anyone she considers family, not necessarily blood related. Even in risky encounters, she’ll do everything she can to protect those she cares about.

BIOGRAPHY:
Varia Shinyuza has spent most of her life aboard starships, playing with her older sister Shunti. Her parents, Denike and Tula, own a small shipping company, comprised of only a handful of ships and captains. Varia eagerly learned about operation and maintenance of starships from her father and took it upon herself to learn even more on her own. Shunti and Varia would stay up late, reading the collections of starship manuals and pilot guides. When her curiosity couldn’t be sated by the public information available on the Holonet she began to dig deeper. What started simply as a means to access more knowledge soon evolved into a marketable skill. When she realized the value of the information she was accessing she began to pass along bits and pieces for the right price.

At the tender age of 15 Varia received her first payout from a Five Syndicates job and the credits were hard to deny. She saved up almost every credit she earned, not just to hide her illegal pursuits from her family, but to achieve her ultimate goal, her own starship. She worked off and on for them during the following years, keeping them at arm’s length and remaining anonymous. When she was 18, her father allowed her to start captaining one of the family ships along its route as he had Shunti two years before. It was a system that worked out for awhile, day job as a reputable cargo captain and side gig as a remote slicer for hire. However, one horrible mistake brought her world crashing down around her.

A few months before her 23 birthday a vindictive minor Hutt whose secrets she had exposed came after her. Varia covered her tracks well, but it wasn’t quite good enough. The pirates that were sent to kidnap her didn’t attack her ship, they attacked Shunti’s. Without any real proof they figured they had their target and returned to their employer. As soon as she heard the news, Varia worked frantically to track down the pirates. When she figured out who had bankrolled the operation, she knew immediately what had happened. She was crushed, and meandered through her day to day, knowing it was her carelessness that got her sister taken.

During her depressive birthday dinner she admitted to her parents all she had done. They were shocked and horrified, and in a sudden wave of emotion pushed away their remaining daughter. Varia wandered around the streets of Lessu all night with R3-N2, her astromech droid, and only friend in the galaxy. When the pink rays of dawn lit up the Rylothian sky, she decided her course. She was waiting outside the starship yard when the groggy dealer arrived to open. Varia set down most of her savings and took off in her new ISFT-21 with one goal in mind, find Shunti.

Hey there. Profile looks good.

The Personal Cloaking device function will need some sort of armor write-up to be used though. Don't mind if the write-up has no protective coverage but it does need some sort of write-up to attach to as it is an armor function.

When this is taken care of tag me and I'll take a look at this as soon as I can
