Carrie had to have played one of the first truly inspirational female protagonists. In the 70's/80's women didn't just dress up as bounty hunters and threaten notorious gangsters with high-powered explosives after getting traumatized by watching the destruction of her home just to save someone they love.

even if they had to dress her up in BDSM clothes afterwards to counterbalance it all out
