BIOGRAPHY
Valiance Waszylla was born on Obroa-Skai, an offshot of the main family that lived and operated on Coruscant. Growing up during a time when this territory was still part of the Empire, he had been told that the other parts of his family had wronged his parents and to never interact with them. So protective of him, in fact, that Valiance was forced into studies and school at a young age, almost kept locked away. Having an affinity for books and knowledge, this suited the boy just fine. Many say that perhaps this is the reason why his sense of humor and outlook is a bit...askew. Still, he was charismatic enough to make friends during his time studying and was found to be an honest and well-intentioned young man.
Val would then spend much of the wars and fighting working for the libraries on Obroa-Skai, fueling his passion for knowledge and helping any looking to learn. When the system changed hands to the Mandalorians this desire didn't change, offering what he could as he felt that the value of the information kept on the planet could make the galaxy a better place, no matter who ruled it. When the United Protectorate was formed he felt another stirring in his chest, a desire to join the political community that was being formed if only just to make sure Obroa-Skai's interests were met and the planet's knowledge was protected. At first quiet and observant, as the drums of war and destruction began to beat Valiance knew that now was the time for voices to be heard. Fixing his best bowtie and putting on his most charming smile, he vowed to stride into the limelight in the name of knowledge and peace.

Personality
Valiance is an very likeable person, treating acquaintance and stranger with the same level of politeness and respect. He truly listens when people speak and shows empathy that resonates with many. He has no problems in a crowd and his quick mind helps him navigate the treacherous waters of the political battlefield, though sometimes with the occasional pun or strange joke due to his unique sense of humor. Probably the biggest thing about him, though, is that he truly cares about others, especially if they are people that work for him, even going so far as to care for his staffers' families as much as he can.
When in private, he is much the same as he is in public, though perhaps even warmer with others. His mind is always moving, contemplating some odd thing he'd come across in the library to awkwardly come up in conversation when he finally figured out a puzzle or fact. He is an incredibly honest person, something that seems odd for a politician, yet this made him popular among his constituents and his at times blunt speech has been effective at getting his point across. It is for this reason that he gets along incredibly well with civilians and others overlooked often in favor of military or combat-associated occupations. He has never found a paramour, having always focused on his work and studies.
Skills
Intelligence: His whole life spent studying and working in the academic field has given him one of the most intelligent minds any modern scholar could have. The time it took to gain that repository of knowledge, though, has left his mind a bit focused on academics and he misses some common social cues that those more outgoing would have. He's been trying to learn, though this can make him and his humor seem awkward. Nevertheless, in a conversation if someone asks a question and can't think of a word or subject, Val is usually quick to supply it for them with a smile.
Charisma: Valiance's empathy with others and natural demeanor, coupled with his fatherly looks, gives him incredible charisma and draws in others easily. When he makes a promise he carries it out and makes the people who listen to him believe in what he says. Even though he is only a recently elected Senator, his honesty and kind smile have won the hearts of his constituents and made him easy to talk to among his peers.. Whatever challenges he faces, though, it will be with the people in his heart and a smile on his face.
