Vagabond Armor

An armor base popular among pirates and freelance mercenaries. No two armor sets are cosmetically identical as almost everyone chooses to adorn their armor with their own personal touches, be it war paint, trinkets, bone, leathers, furs, or some macabre combination. It's not quite a heavy armor, rather it is designed to protect the most vital areas without limiting freedom of movement too much. The design is utilitarian and simple in nature, the armor is made of the same military-grade plasteel all-around, so nobody using it needs to think too much about where they're being attacked and with what. The undersuit, while enough to offer limited vacuum protection (supposing the user has a helmet) will not protect the wearer from damage.

Functions

.

Function 1: Security Spike
  • A two-time use (per thread) item, this spike extends from the forearm and is used to unlock sealed containers, doors, or computer consoles. The time it takes to force its way through security depends on the strength of the encryption. A military-grade lock would take considerable time to breach, and most certainly would require the attacker to have friends to protect him.
Function 2: Mag Boots
  • What's a good raider without a set of mag boots? Incredibly useful in case there is a loss of gravity, or the user needs to climb a ferrous surface that would normally be at too steep of a gradient. Not so good for stealth, however. Luckily they can be deactivated when not needed.
Function 3: Limited Vacuum Protection
  • With a helmet, the armor and undersuit can offer limited protection in a vacuum. There is little in the way of heat regulation, so EVAs are advised to stay out of direct sunlight. Further, there is only a 5 minute air supply, so jaunts outside or between spacecraft are advised to be as brief as possible. Still, it is better than nothing and can prove to be a life-saving measure.
