BOUNTY HUNTER DROID

V-3PO, commonly called Veepee, Vee, and Veep, or more rarely Vee-Threepio, was a black 3PO-series protocol droid with masculine programming. Initially purchased to serve as a translator for a minor Hutt crime lord, named Rooba the Hutt, he was later modified with the intention of serving as a bodyguard droid. However, due to the process having been botched, Veepee became an insane, homicidal droid who went on to become a mercenary.

Biography

V-3PO was manufactured by Cybot Galactica on Affa and sold into the service of Rooba the Hutt on the Outer Rim planet Eriadu in the Seswanna sector. Rooba was obsessed with the late Grand Moff Tarkin, a native of Eriadu and one of the minds behind both the Galactic Empire and the first Death Star, and made it his job to collect trinkets associated with the Grand Moff. Though V-3PO originally served as Rooba's translator, the minor Hutt crime lord had recently become fascinated with a Tarkin Initiative project known as 0-0-0: a homicidal protocol droid that was skilled as both an assassin and a torture-bot. Rooba sought to have the Triple Zero unit reconstructed and placed into his service, and hired notorious droid manufacturer, Todo Frike, to rewire the 3PO unit into a virtual copy of the murderous droid, so that it might act as his bodyguard. But Todo's credentials were dubious at best and his attempts to modify the 3PO unit were catastrophic.

As a result of the mechanic's tampering, in which included substituting some of the droid's components with that of an HK-model gladiator droid, V-3PO's subservient personality (a staple of most 3PO-series droids) was entirely obliterated in favor of a maniacal, homicidal personality that knew loyalty to no master. Furthermore, in his bid to impress Rooba, Todo attempted to program what little he knew of the Triple zero personality matrix into T-3PO, which ultimately failed, though the droid did (briefly) become convinced its name was "Trip," which had been a nickname for 0-0-0 during the Galactic Civil War. The protocol droid believed itself a torture and mercenary droid, a flaw that wasn't discovered until it was presented by Todo to Rooba. Upon reactivation, Veepee proceeded to murder Todo and Rooba, along with most of the Hutt's admittedly small court, before stealing his WTK-85A interstellar transport and escaping into the galaxy.

Programming and traits

V-3PO appears no differently than other 3PO-series protocol droids. Originally manufactured with grey plating and yellow photoreceptors, the droid technician Todo Frike replaced these features with black plating and red photoreceptors to resemble the 0-0-0 unit. Likewise, while Veepee originally had a standard 3PO unit's subservient programming, Todo's botched tampering scrubbed most of this programming clean, effectively driving the droid insane.

Currently, V-3PO is a homicidal, misanthropic, and borderline sociopathic protocol droid, with masculine programming, who believes himself to be both a torture droid and a mercenary droid. Veepee takes an unhealthy amount of pleasure in death, mayhem, and destruction (even more-so if he is the one causing such things). Unlike most assassin droids, which are programmed with some manner of professionalism to prevent them from going on a killing spree, Todo Frike botched Veepee's reprogramming, and, as a result, the droid does not have these restrictions placed on it. The only beings he spares are those with similar levels of homicidal tendencies, whom he shows reverence, while disregarding all others as "meatbags." He also appears to value the "lives" of other droids, whom he believes are categorically better than said "meatbags."

As Veepee grew into his programming, he realized it was advantageous that he appeared as an ordinary 3PO protocol droid, as most other beings did not suspect such units as being capable of murder. He frequently seized on this predisposition to catch his intended victims off-guard. Because he went most of his "life" without a memory wipe, he also gained a rather eccentric (if not dark) sense of humor that most organic beings found disturbing or, at the very least, unsettling. Veepee, for his part, was entirely unaware his sense of humor had this effect on organics and chalked their reactions up to stupidity on their part. Likewise, Veepee was revolted by the concept of having a master and recognized no organic's right to give him orders. He also despised droids that so readily took orders from organics.

Skills and abilities

Like all 3PO protocol droids, V-3PO can masquerade as an ordinary protocol unit by falling back on his Cybot Galactica programming. He is fluent in over 6 million forms of communication, can recognize approximately thirty thousand sentient species, and is knowledgeable in multiple forms of etiquette. However, thanks to Todo Frike's tampering with his programming, Veepee has also become a torture and mercenary droid, obtaining a plethora of new programming to supplement his factory settings.

Veepee is a relentless mercenary who can operate blaster weaponry, fly ships, and is smart enough to masquerade as a protocol droid to lure his targets in before capturing or killing them. He is also a ruthlessly efficient torture droid, and has gained knowledge over time (using his repository of information on sentient species and their customs) about how best to exact the maximum amount of pain from his victims using the tools at his disposal.

Because his base model is a Cybot Galactic 3PO-series protocol droid, V-3PO's only known restriction is that he cannot translate or speak in the runic language of the Sith without significant tampering. He finds this restriction troublesome, but does not lose much rest over it, as the Sith are extinct and he found their language boorish to begin with.
