"...then you have constituent calls from three to five, and then a fundraiser from six through to nine. It's the 'Security Contractors Consortium' annual dinner." Garr Antilles sighed as his scheduler rattled off a collection of commitments he had forgotten had head agreed to. It was lunchtime now, and from what he could tell, he had nothing on "You've done the speech, though, right?" he asked, his scheduler nodding and gesturing to his datapad. He smiled, standing up "See, all in hand." Garr scooped the datapad off of his desk and headed toward the door.

"Don't worry, don't worry. I'll be back for three." he smiled to her, putting on his jacket and holstering his DL-44 on his hip. "Don't look at me like that, pal; this is Coronet City; people expect the Mayor to be packing heat." the scheduler didn't look convinced as Garr pinned on his lapel badge the Corellian flag, and headed down the stairs to his waiting speeder. He wasted little time, stepping inside the J-type, an exotic speeder that was afforded to him as Mayor of Coronet City.

His driver was a friend from his time in the army. A stern-looking man, Clovis and Garr had quite literally been through the wars together. "Let's go" the speeder kick up speed, a second larger speeder containing security droids followed as an escort. They made haste for the lower end of Coronet, just outside the reclamation yards - passing unnoticed, yet with speed, through some of the shortcuts his driver was aware of. Pulling up at the side of the road, where he had asked his two contacts to meet him, he slid open the door to his speeder, and gestured to them both as they came into sight. "Get in."

Yvon had been contacted for a job on Corellia. The source of the contact had been covered up, but after a bit of digging the slicer wasn't particularly surprised to find out that the contact was a member of the local government. Politicians were all the same from one end of the galaxy to the other.

The fact that Yvon found politicians and other individuals with political power to be scum didn't matter to the slicer when it came to credits. If the man was willing to pay for their services, pay quite handsomely, then they would be available. For that reason they had arrived on Corellia some time ago. Upon their arrival they had set about scrubbing records of their own presence on the planet before setting up a variety of safe areas in case things went south. Nothing fancy, just a few empty flats and warehouses that were rented out on the short term by unrelated shell companies. Ever the paranoid.

Yvon waited outside the reclamation yards where they were slated to meet their client. They had come as the enigmatic slicer NoVa, wearing gear to conceal their true identity. After a little while of waiting a J type speeder pulled up, the contact opening the door and gesturing for them to get in. Only a little wary of a trap, but confident in their martial skills and the assortment of bladed weapons they wore strapped to their body, they slid in and looked at the contact.

"'Ello Govnah." NoVa said, their voice slightly amused behind the neutral electronic buzz of their voice scrambler. There was a bit of amusement to the whole thing to the slicer, working for a politician.

Crow set The Blackbird down in the Coronet City Spaceport. He had two jobs today. Get a bead on the mayor, and determine how beneficial he could be to Crimson Dawn. He made his way down the ship’s boarding ramp. He was dressed in his usual gear, but he’d decided to leave his helmet off.

He hopped a transport to the long-term parking lot and went shopping. Once he found a speeder he liked, he discreetly committed grand theft auto and exited the lot. It felt good being back behind the wheel of a speeder. He’d been in space so long developing a system of jumps through the Kessel Run that he felt like he was still reacclimating to being on planet.

The Enforcer pulled up at the rendezvous site and got out of the speeder. He leaned against the hood and lit up a cigarette while he wanted for the politician. A luxury speeder with a discrete tail pulled in. He took another drag on his cigarette before stamping it out. Out of the corner of his eye, he spotted someone moving toward the speeder. He turned to get a good look and frowned when he a creepy little thing moving toward his client.

Crow moved to intervene, but as their path’s crossed the client made it clear they were meant to be there. The Enforcer slid in just after the other being. Crow’s eyes locked on the man in front of him. And his mouth dropped open in shock. This dude was the spitting image of Crow’s father. It was unsettling, to say the least, but he managed to keep it together through the introductions while the speeder lifted up and headed off.

As his guests got in, the speeder door slid shut, and his driver reentered the 'cockpit' before gently kicking the vehicle back into gear. Garr looked the two of them up and down, one a discrete slicer and the other a dashing enforcer. He couldn't quite put his finger on it, but there was something about Crix Dolan that appealed to Garr - he had a face you could trust and wasn't half bad to look at two.

"Thank you both for coming." he smiled warmly at them, a well-practised hand-shake offered to either or both should they accept, effortlessly easy as he introduced himself. "I ain't going to beat about the bush here. Names Garr Antilles, Mayor of Coronet City, and I need your help." he paused for but a moment, allowing time to catch their immediate reactions, before he added "And naturally, here on Corellia we pay good credits for services rendered." hopefully putting their minds at ease that he wasn't asking for a handout.

He looked the two of them up and down as the speeder headed toward the docks proper "Now, I think Corellia deserves better than it's got right now. We've been lumbered with a divided set of honchos at the top, just in the worst possible time for it to boot. We've been hit by invasion, the Killik, and much more - and I think there could be worse to come. It's why I'm thinking about throwing my hat in the ring for the next President of Corellia." he looked out the window as if in deep thought.

"Look, we've all got a choice. We can either sit and watch the planet we love burn or grab a hose and douse that fire. But I cannot do this without your help. I've got enemies; being Mayor gets you a number - be they criminal gangs or rival groups trying to oust me. Some of them do it in a genuine, in-your-face sort of way. Others, it's more discrete. I need you to apply your skills to help me mitigate these issues. So, are you interested?"

Crow wasn’t a patriot. Everyone he’d known and loved had been killed during the first invasion of Denon. So, the politician's plight wasn’t one he cared about. Respectfully he kept his expression neutral. Garr was good. He had that famous Corellian charisma about him, but when he asked for help, Crix just blinked. There’s no way this guy thought he’d do anything without getting paid. Garr purposely waited just long enough to gauge them before mentioning the pay. Crix remained impassive.

Garr took a deep breath preparing to deliver a monologue that would pull on their heartstrings, and galvanize them to his cause and that was exactly what he did. It was entertaining to say the least. Crix wondered how he could get a bet going with the little guy without alerting Garr to what they were doing, but the thought passed

I think it’s admirable that you want to help your planet. But, I don’t have that loyalty. I’m interested in helping you, provided the pay is as good as you claim, and I have the freedom to conduct the job how I see fit.

This could be very beneficial for Crimson Dawn. Corellia was prime real-estate, and having it’s president in their pocket would be the cherry on top.
