Welcome to the second event of the eighth timeline, Star Wars: Fires of Rebellion! After a surprise move on Nar Shaddaa, initiated by the Galactic Alliance, Network Access was destroyed—cutting the HoloNet for all of Imperial Hutta off entirely. Now chaos reigns in the last Imperial province untouched by the war!

During this story event, participation in certain types of threads will get you special rewards and allow you to take part in an equally special story that is unique to this event! You don't want to miss out on this opportunity! Please read the announcement below to see all of the details of this event:

What happened?

uwiPj0G.png
Even under the rule of the Sith Empire, Nar Shaddaa has remained the capital of criminal activity in the galaxy. Before the rise of the Sith Empire, it was one of the major centers of the Hutt Cartel's power. After the rise of the Sith Empire, the Smuggler's Moon was one of the banes of Sith rule.

The Empire could never truly reign in Nar Shaddaa. The moon developed much of the galaxy's advanced technology and crime was so numerous that no amount of Imperial troops would ever be able to police it all, as was true throughout the former Hutt Space that came to be known as Imperial Hutta. When the civil war broke out, the province did not send troops or aid; the Imperial forces there needed those resources to maintain order. That fragile order has now been shattered!

During the Galactic Alliance's recent incursion on the Smuggler's Moon, Network Access—the hub controlling the HoloNet for the entirety of Imperial Hutta—was knocked out. Its backup generators were destroyed. Its main generators overloaded. And then Network Access itself was sliced to pieces for good measure. This resulted in the HoloNet for the entire province going dark. Billions of communications in, out, and through Imperial Hutta went silent. Broadcasts went out too. The consequences of this have manifested overnight:

The criminal element that has, for five hundred years, been barely restrained by Imperial rule have been set loose. Without HoloNet communications to coordinate their forces and call for help, the Imperials are at the mercy of the crime lords who have started revolts and uprisings across a dozen worlds or more.

The Setting

ZJLMnZI.jpg
The main setting for the SWRP Hutta Uprising Event is Imperial Hutta itself. This area, seen from the galactic atlas, is located to the galactic-east, below the Old Empire, in what was formerly known as Hutt Space. As the HoloNet for the entire sector is knocked out, it is impossible to know for certain which worlds are most at risk, but Nar Shaddaa, Nal Hutta, Kessel, Toydaria, and Gamorr are all suspect in the list of worlds prime for revolt.

The consequences for losing these worlds would be disastrous. Not only would Imperial Hutta dissolve back into a hive of un-policed criminal space, which would quickly become a bed for dissent and rebellion against the Empire, but the Empire would lose one-third of a galaxy already ripped in two due to war. As a consequence, this event represents something to each of the current factions at war in the galaxy:

    • For Imperial Republica, to which Imperial Hutta belongs, a chance to flex its muscles and show that rebellion and discord will not be permitted in an ordered galaxy. For them, this is an opportunity to crush a large resistance uprising and ensure Imperial Hutta remains in the fold, as well as gain influence over the Old Empire.
    • For the Old Empire, a chance to seize upon an opportunity to absorb some of their enemy's territory. But this does not just represent an opportunity for conquest. For the Old Empire, this is also a chance to prove that it can enact order upon a region of space that Republica could not. If Hutta switched sides, the tides of the civil war would change dramatically, cutting Republica off from most of the Outer Rim and almost ensuring that more Republica worlds will fall under the sway of the Old Empire.
    • For the Mandalorians, there is no better chance to sow discord and chip away at the Empire's power. Turning Imperial Hutta independant could open the province up for later conquest; not to mention, it would rob the Sith Empire of a third of the galaxy, regardless of the outcome of their civil war. It is an opportunity that cannot and must not be ignored.
    • For the Galactic Alliance, this is a chance to save lives and to add countless to their growing rebellion. Imperial Hutta is littered with technicians, starship designers, manufacturers, pilots, soldiers, and mercenaries, as well as a number of high-profile targets that might use the chaos to flock to the rebellion. As with the Mandalorians, it is also an opportunity to turn the region independant and is an opportunity we cannot ignore.

The Event

Starting on February 5, 2019, you will be able to choose from one of the following thread prompts and do a thread based on that prompt. The contents of that thread are up to you and your imagination! The event ends February 26, 2019.

The reward for completing one of the prompts is a single (1) piece of advanced tech and points (see the Rules) for your faction. In order for you to claim the reward you MUST complete the thread by the end of the event. See the Rules section below this one for more information and guidelines!

Imperial Republica Prompts:

    • We need to repair Network Access or Imperial Hutta will be lost to us forever! Unfortunately, several large gangs have seized the shipyards on Nal Hutta and Nar Shaddaa and are using our own ships to blockade both the planet and the moon! We can't call for reinforcements while the HoloNet is down, but we need to get repair teams and supplies to Nar Shaddaa's surface! Smuggle a team passed the blockade and land them on the surface!
    • Pirates and smugglers now reign in Hutt Space. Their ships travel in small squadrons across Imperial Hutta, raiding Imperial installments and fleets, who have no warning they are coming due to the HoloNet outage. Take control of a small Imperial taskforce and destroy these ambushers, or take the fight to the criminals yourself with your own ship! Whichever you choose, do your part to destroy the Empire's enemies!
    • Uprisings on Kessel are dangerous. For centuries, we have allowed the Pyke Syndicate to smuggle spice out of Kessel in exchange for providing us with raw and refined coaxium. But, with the chaos, the Pykes have regained control of Kessel and now hold our coaxium hostage! If we want to have a hope of taking Kessel back, we need to first bring down the Pykes who are holing up in their spice mines! The mines are dangerous and full of traps and other dangers, along with the Pykes themselves! But rooting out the Pykes and reclaiming the mines for the Empire is the only way to teach them who really rules Kessel!
    • Nal Hutta is sprawling with Hutt palaces. These Hutts are in open-rebellion to the throne on Coruscant! Punish them by breaking through the blockade surrounding the planet and destroying their palaces. Destroying enough of them should quell the Hutt lords' rebellion and draw their forces away from our shipyards, allowing us to retake them!
Old Empire Prompts:

    • The Pykes are in open rebellion on Kessel. To oppose them there would be foolish. Let us show the people of the Imperial Hutta that we are the more resourceful Empire, and the one they should owe allegiance, by taking the fight to Oba Diah: the homeworld of the Pykes! Burn Pyke towns. Destroy Pyke palaces. Let them feel the fury of the dark side, which they provoked by rebelling against the Sith!
    • The pigs on Gamorr have fallen under attack but Hutt-led traffickers bent on using the confusion to abduct more Gamorreans for labor in their criminal empires. An Empire that cannot protect its subjects, even the lowliest of them, is no true Empire. We shall show that the Old Empire is the true Empire by killing the Hutt traffickers before they can make off with more Gamorreans!
    • Republica is using smugglers to break passed the blockade hanging over Nal Hutta and Nar Shaddaa. A smart tactic, but we need something more boisterous. We need to show the people of the Empire that we are willing to break the blockade, not just break through it. Engage the blockade! Probe it for weaknesses and destroy ships if you can! Then, return to our fleet and report any weaknesses you uncover!
    • The Hutts pride themselves on their strongholds, taken from the ancient monks of the B'omarr Order, on Teth. Though there are no uprisings on Teth, the Hutts causing the uprisings think they are safe in their palaces there. We will show them, and the rest of the galaxy, otherwise. No stronghold is safe from the Sith Empire! Select a palace, infiltrate it, kill it's Hutt owner, and then put it to the torch!
Mandalorian Prompts:

    • The time is ripe to soften up a potential target for crusade! That is what the chaos in Imperial Hutta represents. If the province collapses and becomes independent, then there will be nothing to stop us from sweeping in! It's time to set this region truly on fire! Incite a riot on one of the worlds within Imperial Hutta and do the most property damage you can!
    • Nar Shaddaa is up in flames, and it's our job to make sure it stays that way! Some of the Hutts kept gladiatorial arenas across the moon, and these were often stocked with the worst beasts imaginable! Set these beasts free to run wild on the streets and feast on Imperial peacekeepers! But beware, you might have to fight your way out yourself!
    • Despite widespread chaos, there are still criminals loyal to the Empire in Imperial Hutta. Some of these, smugglers and vagabonds, are attempting to get coaxium off of Kessel and into the hands of Imperial cargo ships. Destroy these smuggling vessels and show the criminals (and the Empire) that the Mandalorians do not fear the Akkadese Maelstrom and the Maw within.
    • Quesh produces valuable adrenals for the Imperial military using a special toxin that is found only on that world. But the Imperials will no longer be needing these. Go to Quesh and steal shipments of these rare adrenals for the Mandalorian cause! We will use the Empire's own weapons against them; but beware, these facilities are still heavily guarded by Hutt families still loyal to Coruscant!
Galactic Alliance Prompts:

    • The Evocii were once enslaved by the Hutts for centuries. Then the Empire came and enslaved them again. We cannot leave these people to die in the wake of revolts we started. The Evocii make good technicians and can help us in the wars to come! Go to Nal Hutta, slip passed the blockade, and rescue as many Evocii as you can before returning to headquarters!
    • The monarchy on Toydaria has never approved of Imperial rule, nor did they enjoy when the Hutts ruled Hutt Space. For their outspokeness against the Empire, the royal family has been in hiding for years, and we haven't had the resources to get them to safety. This chaos in Hutt Space is our opportunity! Members of the royal family are spread out in hiding across Toydaria! Go and rescue them and bring them into the protections of the Galactic Alliance!
    • Nar Shaddaa is where this all began, and it will all end if we don't complicate the Empire's efforts to restore Network Access! Go the Smuggler's Moon and collapse routes, corridors, and tunnels leading to Network Access! It may not stop them from repairing the HoloNet, but it will considerably slow their efforts, if not outright delay them!
    • Refugees fleeing the chaos in Imperial Hutta have crash-landed on Makeb and are at risk of being rounded up, arrested, and put into slave camps by the Empire! We cannot allow innocents to fall victim to an operation we started! Go to Makeb and rescue as many refugees as you can! They will join the number of beings in open-rebellion against the Empire!

Rules and Guidelines

Please read over the following rules and guidelines for the event! Failure to comply with these rules will result in the loss of any potential reward(s).

General Rules

    • NO REWARD FARMING. There is a limit of two (2) rewards per character. If your character obtains the maximum number of rewards, you can continue doing other prompts/threads with that character, but you will not receive additional rewards.
    • Event threads cannot be considered as missions for faction rewards — this prevents event rewards from being stacked with faction rewards.
    • All threads must be started and completed within the timeframe of the event in order to qualify for any rewards.
    • All threads should have the EVENT tag. Threads submitted without it will be disqualified for rewards.
    • All completed threads that are eligible for rewards should be submitted in the designated thread in the Plot Boards for staff review.
    • Please remember that in-character (IC), the HoloNet is down. That means that long-range communications, calls for help, etc., will not work during your threads. The most that will work are short-range comlinks.
Event Point Rules

    • Each prompt listed here grants its faction +5 points towards their goal if players complete said thread. If a faction reaches 100 points, they achieve a total victory in the event and will receive special bonuses revealed at the end of the event.
      • All threads can be Ask and Dice. However, if a thread is started Open/PvP, follows the Open/PvP rules, and completes its objectives, that thread is worth +10 toward their faction goal.
      • This event is meant to encourage some clashes between the factions. For those not comfortable with traditional PvP, or who want to fight in a more cinematic nature, threads that include cPvP between two enemy factions will be worth +7 toward the goals of the factions involved.
      • If players do not see a prompt they like in the lists above and want to do their own threads in this event, they may. These threads are worth +2 towards the faction goal.
      • Point totals cannot be mixed and matched. For example, if a player comes up with their own thread idea (not one of the prompts) and also includes a cPvP, that thread is not worth +9. It is still worth +2.
    • At the end of the event, should a faction not reach the prescribed 100 points to claim a total victory, the faction with the most points will be declared the winner. How this outcome will effect Imperial Hutta and its worlds, as well as the main story, will be determined after the event and will be based upon each faction's contributions to the event.

All factions should endeavor to participate! The results of this event will impact the main story and a large region of space in the galaxy! How much factions participate will determine what exactly this effect will be! Have fun!

Please make sure to frequently check back to this thread, as well, as the faction scores will be updated here!

Can independents participate in the this as long as they are "working for" the faction they are in the prompt with? Would this be how they are eligible for the tech mod?

Could you be more specific on the advanced tech reward? Thread limit on the item? One thread's worth?

Some of the promts suggest or event state that faction resources can be used by PCs in the event threads. How do we find out what resources are available to us? Should we consult our faction leaders?

  • Ask the faction leader you want to work for first, then yes.
  • One event thread equates to one piece of advanced tech. The only thing you're not allowed to claim with this reward is a capital ship.

Consult your faction leader, but don't expect to be leading fleets if you're not of a fleet-leading rank.
