First Jason Wingreen, Then Erik Bauersfeld, THEN Kenny Baker... and now Carrie Fisher...

This year has not been good for Star Wars actors... this is such a tragedy... it's awful.

This had me looking up who we have lost this year in Star Wars. Besides Carrie Fisher, Kenny Baker, and Erik Bauersfeld, we did lose another Star Wars actress this year: one that is easy to forget but linked to a fairly memorable scene from the prequel trilogy.

Alethea McGrath, who portrayed the old Jedi librarian from Attack of the Clones who told Obi-Wan if Kamino did not exist in the Jedi archives, then it must not exist. She was 96.

For anyone who wants to look up the people we have lost over the years who are linked to Star Wars, Wookieepedia has an article right here.

Not ashamed in the least to admit I shed a tear or two over hearing about her passing. Still kind of in shock tbh.

No shame at all. I did too. She was an inspiring person and a fantastic actress. It's really hard to accept she's gone.

'Anyway, George comes up to me the first day of filming and he takes one look at the dress and says, "You can't wear a bra under that dress."
So, I say, "Okay, I'll bite. Why?"
And he says, "Because...there's no underwear in space."
I promise you this is true, and he says it with such conviction too! Like he had been to space and looked around and he didn't see any bras or panties or briefs anywhere.
Now, George came to my show when it was in Berkeley. He came backstage and explained why you can't wear your brassiere in other galaxies, and I have a sense you will be going to outer space very soon, so here's why you cannot wear your brassiere, per George. So, what happens is you go to space and you become weightless. So far so good, right? But then your body expands??? But your bra doesn't--so you get strangled by your own bra. Now I think that this would make for a fantastic obit-- so I tell my younger friends that no matter how I go, I want it reported that I drowned in moonlight, strangled by my own bra.'

Not only did a STAR WARS icon pass away. It´s someone you´ve "known" for almost all your life....

Players on SWTOR are gathering right now to remember Carrie Fisher. This was at House Organa's main halls on Alderaan.

Today we honor the memory of the woman who showed the world that being a princess did not signify weakness; it signified dignity, bravery and duty to her people even in the face of a powerful agent of the Dark Side. She was every first Star-wars-movie viewers first crush but most importantly, she was a woman who holds a very important place in the Star Wars community for her role in the creation of a beautiful universe in which we now enjoy.

Rest in peace, and yes, Luke was a little short to be a stormtrooper. Star Wars movies will just never be the same again.

Until next time Princess.

Worth noting she was a strong advocate of women's rights here in our universe even during the times when the Star Wars films originally came out.

She didn't stop at coming out in support of women. She has worked on behalf of the Alzheimer's association and the make a wish foundation. She also spoke for issues related to cancer and healthcare reform.

This world, like the Star Wars Universe, lost a hero, and I think it is important to recognize that.

That's amazing. I think I'll pay a visit to Alderaan tonight too, and visit the Organa Palace.

Carrie Fisher will be missed. She was an inspiration to me, growing up, watching the orginal Star Wars series and later on finding out about her strong advocacy for mental health and stance against addictions. Last year when the Force Awakens came out, one of my most favorite scenes to watch from the film was the part where Leia reunited with Han and Chewie.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Carrie Fisher's family and friends.

Debbie Reynolds, Carrie Fisher's mother, has died of a stroke.
