Welcome to the Ubiqtorate! I know that not everyone has Skype, so hopefully this thread will help keep us all in the loop without blowing up a dozen VM walls. If you do have Skype, drop me a VM/PM with your username and I'll add you to the group chat. It isn't exactly super exciting just yet, but it will be soon.

If there's something you want to see added, be it a mission or a question on the FAQ (public or private), post it here. If you have questions about the faction, again, post 'em here and we'll figure it out together. (Or I'll laugh at you and tell you to read the FAQ) And if you need someone to do a mission with, you can hope/beg for senpai to notice you in this thread. Magical!

I'll bump this with announcements as needed, so you may want to hit the subscribe button, just in case. Other than that.. uh, thanks for taking part in this not-so-silly spy stuff, and I hope it's a lot of fun for us all.

I suppose I shall be the first to attempt drawing attention to myself.

I'd like to do an IC "recruitment" if possible. I understand the Ubiq doesn't truly recruit its members, its more a planned thing due to skillset, so I think it'd be interesting to do a form of acceptance with my character Laang considering his newly joined status. I still need to iron out some details and need some information as to how the Ubiqtorate operatives could be involved.

Thus far, I have two ideas; the first is that the operative has been sent to observe Laang's movements after first coming into Imperial Space, and using his near-holmesian deductive skills, Laang sets a trap for his pursuer. There can be some combat, and other goodies, but the end result would more than likely end with a blooded Laang and a use for him in the Ubiqtorate for matching an operative for wits. However, I know not necessarily everyone would want to have their character be a discovered spy, so the other is Laang was arrested shortly after his entrance into Imperial space and is currently being held on the Imperial Prison Barge The Cage while he awaits trial. Here, he orchestrates an escape plan and breaks himself out of captivity where his skills can be seen by an investigating operative upon his successful escape, he can be tracked down, and eventually given the option to join of which he gladly accepts. Thoughts? Comments? Alternative ideas?

I can always skip all of this, but I would love to take the opportunity to do something different considering this group operates differently than the rest of SWRP as is. I always feel much more attached to my characters when there is some backstory behind their actions as well.

I'm a fan of this, and if Bee is too I'd be willing to RP your assigned pursuer.

Is there one idea or the other in which you would prefer? But awesome, thanks!

EDIT: If it is possible, I am preferring the prison break just because of its extra intricacies, the opportunity to form contacts, and the entertainment value, but both ideas are being fleshed out to give an option.

You guys can definitely go ahead with either plan. I'd love to read it. :D

Lovely, thanks Bee! If you'd like Pete, I am leaning on the prison break as I said. I can write it up in mission format for you, if Bee would allow this to be considered an "assignment" for your involvement. As an added note, I have asked Livgardist to take part with us, albeit in an entirely non-Ubiqtorate manner as a simple accomplice to the prison break.

Essentially, I will be writing from the perspective that Laang has been captured for a reason unknown to him and has been imprisoned for two weeks before the breakout. You, Pete, have been the nearest Operative reached by Cipher Four (Csilla Sector) to interrogate a traveling Chiss Exile that was involved in both Chiss military and political affairs and gather what information you can from the Chiss Exile before ensuring he can cause no trouble for Imperial Operations.

That's the general start I have for it, just making sure all my thoughts are documented.

EDIT: Here is the general outline I've constructed for my basic rundown of events. Make note that roleplay and the randomness of such things, not to mention everyone's right to request different actions and Bee's rulings on all Ubiqtorate operations, can change it and it is just a rough draft.

- Begin Scene, Laang in his cell. Provide description of prison barge The Cage, description of initial plans. Cut to NPC of Cipher Four 1 week earlier relayed information to provide to Pete’s character, indicating mission information.
- Allow for Pete’s post, preferably detailing receipt of information, and departure for Prison Barge. Allow for Liv’s post, regarding his actions and presence on the Prison Barge
-Progress to scene, Laang’s plan to escape revealed; stage 1, get access to guard datapad; stage 2, use recruited character and datapad to help reach guard control panels; stage 3, Laang hacks security systems, releasing inmates across the prison barge who severely outnumber guards, beginning riot.
-Pete’s character can arrive at this moment, or have just arrived, giving him the chance to take part in action scene regarding rioting prisoners. If Pete prefers, optional objective can be to contain riot and prevent prisoners escaping, capturing Laang as his initial target for questioning; I think it’d be a cool, suitably spy-like idea to have Pete’s character disguise himself and ally with Laang and Nasif during the escape, using his personal shuttle as the escape vehicle, ditching Nasif at a designated location, before commencing with interrogation.
-After discovering Laang’s hand in planning his own escape during questioning, Pete can contact Cipher Four, and be given orders/take initiative to have Laang indoctrinated and screened for Ubiqtorate Candidacy.

EDIT 3: Due to the fact that whoever plays the agent won't necessarily have an active role until a bit later, I'm going to go ahead and start the thread so Liv and I can begin working up to the buildup. I just ask that you get in your arrival before the riot ensues, as there would be no chance of you successfully docking with no handlers inside to operate any controls :p

LINK TO THREAD

Hopefully that's detailed enough for you to go off of :33

OK, so another idea, apologies for the double post.

Now that Laang has begun his escape and I have a solution for recruitment, my next focus will be on indoctrination into the Ubiqtorate. For this role, I have begun writing a thread where he has been brought aboard the Sphinx to begin going through a form of spy boot camp based on my own knowledge of the military system.

However, following that, I'd like to undergo some structured training. Is there any thoughts by the other operatives what they'd like to learn? I plan on teaching a few to Laang, including Teras Kasi, Nagai knife fighting techniques, perhaps some darkstick combat knowledge (little razor boomerangs), and some other specialized techniques regarding spy needs. Is there anything anyone wishes to learn or study as well that I can try and help put together?
