Lightell.jpg

I've been up all through the night,
watching clouds as they pass through the light.
I know it needs to change,
but restlessness has pulled me in,
and won't let go until I learn to live.
I know what I've done.

And I don't wanna wait,
and I don't wanna stay,
but I don't wanna turn my back.
It's never gonna change,
I'll never feel the same,
it's just a hopeless shade of black

And we will soon become,
weightless when we find out this is only one
little fraction of our lives.
And I won't believe, that what I see,
is all the world, has got for me.
It's not the way, I ever planned or ever wanted it to be.
So do we belong?

Pronunciation: Tee-rn Li-tel
Title: Count of Serenno
Faction: Jedi Order
Rank: Jedi Master and Councillor
Species: Human
Homeworld: Serenno
Age: 31
Gender: Male
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 150 lbs
Eyes: Brown
Hair: Brown-Blonde
Skin: Tan
Credits: Suffice it to say the Counts of Serenno are some of the richest people in the Galaxy.
Dominate Hand: Right-handed
Force Sensitive: Yes
Hidden Art Sensitive: Yes

Strength: Medium
Dexterity: High
Constitution: Medium
Intelligence: High
Wisdom: Medium
Charisma: High

Skills:
Having to have to learn to protect himself from power-hungry opposition, outside influences and those who would wish to use Serenno’s industrial sectors for personal gain, Tyrn had to learn from a young age how to use a blaster for self protection in case his guards fail, resulting in him being an excellent shot with any energy weapon ranging in size from a hold-out blaster to a light repeater. Additionally, Tyrn is an excellent public speaker, and he is skilled with squad organisation, having to work with his bodyguard almost constantly.

Strengths and Weaknesses:
Being a Jedi Master, Tyrn is a most dangerous adversary when pushed into combat, theough he is often loathe to do so. Perhaps his greatest strength and weakness is that Tyrn controls and trains in both the Orthodox Force and the Hidden Art, allowing him access to both fields, but being weaker in both because of it. Additionally, Tyrn is a charismatic speaker, and is also a skilled dueler, one of few Jedi to master the double-bladed lightsaber.

Gear:
Hidden beneath his rich tunic, few are aware of the breastplate that Tyrn wears like a second skin at all times. This armor contains a small system of tubes between the liner and the armor plates, and a number of vials of bacta. By activating these vials, Tyrn can make the illusion of rapidly recovering from serious injury rapidly several times before having to refill his bacta vials. Once armed with a vibro-cutlass, Tyrn now prefers the use of his personal dual-bladed lightsaber, though he rarely uses both both blades. When ignited, the blade emits a brilliant emerald green blade of energy. Use of special focusing crystals has created a smoother blade for enhanced control over blaster bolt deflection, though this puts Tyrn at a disadvantage in saber locks.

Personality:
Typically well spoken and well mannered, Tyrn is still a well-guarded person, preferring to keep his cards close to himself. As a rule, Tyrn is very caring towards the suffering of others, and this can affect his own mood deeply, especially if that person if Force Sensitive. Tyrn does not drink, though he is noted to smoke on occasion, moreso when he is stressed, upset or angered.

An Ancient Art...

Thousands of years ago, one Sith Warlock known as Grakon uncovered a terrible power that threatened to turn the galaxy on its head. Unaware of the side-effects these powers had on the physical body of the user, Grakon obliterated himself in his own pride and naivete. Many, many years later a coterie of Sith once again uncovered this power, and in their short period of existance, the amount of knowledge of this art came rapidly, and these Warlocks came to be of increidble might, though their power was their undoing. Officially labeled as Mancery, the Hidden Art was once again placed into secrecy with the fall of the coterie of Warlocks who labeled themselves Mancers, though this was by far the end.

The knowledge of the Hidden Art is known to very few, but what knowledge is known is that the practitioners of the Hidden Art rely on secret wells of power known as 'nodes' to amplify their power. The method of tapping or even detecting this power is, however, unknown, and it is theorized by many that these nodes are in fact hidden versions of the Force Nexus that the Jedi Temple on Coruscant is built above, though there is no accurate way to confirm this information. The art of drawing on a node's power is incredibly difficult and often causes the body to begin to deteriorate through excessive use. There is also knowledge of an 'aftersickness' of sorts which can leave practitioners practically defenceless.

Those who do practice the Hidden Art in the modern day have appeared from the shadows, their past history incredibly varied and diverse, and - even stranger - these practitioners have nothing in common, nor are they even aware of each others existance. One thing many of these practitioners of the Hidden Art have in common, however, is that they all seem to remember or recognize a grandfather figure, many of the more primitive or religious practitioners deifying the Grandfather as a bringer of gifts, a mighty power who has the ability to teach others what many once took decades to learn. The existance of the Grandfather is debatable, however - almost all sources on the topic depict the Grandfather in a different manner, as having different powers and even a different presence in the Force. These variations are unexplainable, and it may be that the infant minds that have seen (or claim to have seen) him percieve the presence of the Grandfather differently. Believers or followers of the Grandfather are collectively known as the Grandchildren.

Witnesses to practitioners of the Hidden Art in use are few and far between, but many records of the Mancers of old still exist, though the authors are often primitive or incredibly misinformed. These records state a variety of powers, from the ability to control and manipulate the elements, the creation of physical barriers and null-force zones, even the summoning of phantoms and horrific creatures in some cases, though it is assumed poetic licence applies to many of these reports. If, however, those who can use the Hidden Art can do as is said, then they are terrible foes, indeed. Furthermore, it is supposed that these practitioners' use of their power is undetectable for the most part to the more orthodox users of the Force, as they are not attuned or trained to detect the nodes these strange beings use, let alone detect the draining of said nodes.

In conclusion, if found, a practitioner of the Hidden Art is a rare and powerful beings and, despite the numerous faults this method of Force usage has, the powerful results, if as accurate as reports claim, are devestating.

Secrets of the Hidden Art:

Skywalk - This power shares many similarities with the Orthodox Force Push, using a telekinetic power to propel an object. However, instead of being focused through the hands, Skywalk is instead channelled through the feet, using a push at a solid object such as the ground or a sturdy structure to force the practitioner in the opposite direction. Once in the air, these pushes are consistently used to keep the user aloft. The most common way of skywalking is through a series of powerful vertical propulsins, then a propulsion in the direction opposite to that which the practitioner wishes to move, consistently used at intervals to keep the practitioner aloft and moving.
Not quite flying - it's just falling with style. - Tyrn Lightell

Deepsight - focusing power into the eyes provides the user to see in many different perspectives, allowing the eyes of sentients to see wavelengths otherwise invisible. It is in fact a primitive form of Deepsight which all those who manipulate the Kan must have in order to 'see' at the different wavelengths of the Kan. Extended use or observation on difficult levels, such as alternate dimensions, atomic or sub-atomic levels, and observing the Kan without interference of the material world may result in serious eyestrain, migraines or even burst blood vessels. Characteristic of Deepsight is the bulging blood vessels around the eyes and/or a faint or even strong light glowing from the irises. Common practice is also to subject one eye in particular to Deepsight for extended periods of time, training the eye to develop to see in a particular way whenever opened. As a side effect, however, having both eyes open at the same time is incredibly strenuous to the body, and taxing on the mind, and cannot be sustained for long periods of time.
A base power, fundamental to learning the Aspects of the Force hidden even to Force Sensitives - Tyrn Lightell

Burst - A common power due to its simplicity and obvious use, a Burst is a packet of Kan energy, created from the hand, mouth and/or eyes as a projectile weapon. Guided by the mind, a Burst locks onto a target and smashes into them, bypassing armor and shields save Force or Kan protections, or disrupted by another Burst. Such focused packets are most commonly delivered in either a single or multiple bolt-sized projectiles, or in a single focused beam. However, variants of this power are known to take form in other ways - a tidal wave, a weapon held in the hand and swung, or a 'familiar' or animal form. However, all Bursts result in the same damage - such focused Force Energy overloads the system, causing havoc on the body, creating internal bleeding or bruising, bloodblisters, boils, bloodied noses, fatigue, and in some cases, stroke, heart failure or even immediate death. Such is dependant on the target, however - while those not attuned to the Force are unable to handle many Bursts in succession without dying or falling comatose, a Force Sensitive is more resistant, and a Kan practitioner may shrug off even a hailfire of Bursts with little more than a bloodied nose. Droids, however, are imeprvious to Bursts, as they are not a part of the Force, being not living creatures.
Basic, but effective. Handy against Mandalorians, Bounty Hunters...and Jawas. - Tyrn Lightell

Shield/Armor - Not a clear-cut power, the Shield/Armor category is a number of powers taking various manifestations that all basically do the same thing - protect the user. Creating anything from a literal shield projected from the hand to a full projected sphere, or even an encasing armor-like field, the Shield/Armor category is all created with a thick wall of energy of either the Upper or Lower Kan, absorbing energy from weapons, Force Powers and even the legendary lightsaber, but also stopping physical attacks from hand-to-hand combat, vibroblades and mass projector weaponry, depending on the way the armor or shield is created. Also a base power, the Shield/Armor category is tought to nearly all those who learn of the Upper and Lower Aspects, and the pupil is often left to their own devices to create a manifestation of these powers that reflects their own needs and persona.
Very handy; a lifesaver. Can also be projected onto others, though at great cost to the creator. - Tyrn Lightell

History:
Tyrn Lightell was born to Cryl and Serra Lightell. The Lightell had a long history of Force Sensitivity, and were a well regarded family on Serenno. Lightells had several times taken the mantle of Count of Serenno throughout the planet's history. Such is the political structure of Serenno that the Counts exist in dynasties. A Count of Serenno is elected into their position, and then their bloodline continues as Counts until there are no direct descendants of that family. Cryl Lightell was elected as Count of Serenno several years prior to Tyrn's birth, marking the beginning of the Fifth Lightell Dynasty.

However, the rival families were unhappy. Serra Lightell had been unable to concieve for many years, and seemingly concieved immediately after Cryl's election. Many suspected tampering, and sought to dethrone Tyrn's position as successor. However, the law was the law, and would not be broken - Tyrn would rule Serenno as an adult. If he lived long enough. The first attempt on his life occured only two months after Tyrn's birth, where a maid turned up dead after taste-testing a serving of milk for the young boy. Only weeks later, Serra fell prey to a poison dart intended for the boy, and died shrotly after.

Tyrn grew up motherless, his only real family a distant father, too busy running Serenno and managing its vast wealth to take time for Tyrn, and so they grew distant. At the age of five, Tyrn was taken by the Jedi Order for training. It was four years until Cryl returned home long enough to notice his son was gone.

From the beginning of his training, Tyrn realized the danger of his position, were other to discover who he was, and so Tyrn Lightell, with the aid of several anonymous Jedi, became Adarris Valorne, a young Jedi Scholar. At a similar point in time, it is understood that Tyrn encountered the Grandfather and was awoken to the Hidden Art. However, unlike most others who were awoken, Tyrn's understanding was far greater in regards to the Art, and he learnt to manipulate it, albeit to only minor extents, at a young age.

Whenever he could take time out of his busy schedule, Tyrn wrote theories on the Art under his alias, taking time to study the Art in both its wilder form, and the refined form that came naturally to him. Tyrn's research would provide the basis for all eventual information on the Art, his studies taking him to various locations across the galaxy, from the ruined Mancer Academies on Yavin, Arkania and Hoth, to locations of Hidden Art importance, such as Lehon, Manaan, Vjun, Chandrila, and Kashyyyk.
