DESCRIPTION
Tutaminis - also known as Force Absorption - is the ability to absorb energy directly into the Force. Simple versions of this ability are taught to even brand new Padawans, but more advanced uses are for experienced Force sensitives and have many practical combat applications.

The basic technique involved drawing energy or electricity directly into one's hand and allowing that energy to dissipate into the Force. This could be done with small amounts of energy or with more powerful, weaponized energy.

Tutaminis was most popular as a technique to defend against an opponent's Force-based attacks such as Lightning or Pyrokinesis. This technique is typically only as draining for the defender as it is for the attacker. Less popularly but still viable, some users use it to absorb blaster fire or lightsaber blades. While a single blaster bolt can be absorbed without incredible difficulty, multiple shots or prolonged absorption (as with a lightsaber blade) can be quite dangerous. Even slight disturbances in concentration can cause the defense to falter leading to a detrimental outcome.

While it is possible to "catch" a blaster bolt or Force power with one's hand and redirect it back at the attacker, this is considered even more dangerous and risky. Like blocking a lightsaber blade, it requires concentration the entire time or the user risks the energy detonating in their own hand. This reflection cannot be accomplished against an enduring energy source like a saber blade or after the energy has been dissipated into the Force.

It should be noted that energy absorbed using tutaminis does not feed into a Force-user in order to increase or regenerate their stamina.

INTENT
To flesh out Force powers to comply with the site's new rules without a level system. This is a guideline and should not be used for rule lawyering.
