Rooster's eyes had barely registered the laser blast that whizzed past his head before it exploded on the side of a trash bin. He instinctively ducked and drew his blaster pistol. He heard the Rodian say "Stay down!" before he leapt with superhuman ability to the alley rooftops. The blaster fire had increased noticeably as more sentients drew weapons. Another blasterbolt found its way down the alley, striking the ground near the two Regulators and their prisoner. There was minimal cover in the alley and they were like fish in a barrel. They could turn and run but they'd just be shot in the back. Wishing he had a long-rifle, Rooster knelt and raised his pistol with both hands for the best shot. He saw the muzzle-flash and the streak as another blaster whizzed by.

"Smoke." Barked Kublai as he unpinned a smoke grenade and roll it down the alley towards the direction of the shooter. The grenade exploded, belching thick smoke and obscuring the line of sight into the alley. Rooster sighed with relief and lowered his gun. This had not been the first time he was thankful for the presence of the Whipid. "Come on lets get out of here." Rooster looked left and right, searching for their prisoner who was nowhere to be found in the smoke. "Sith-spit, he can't have gotten far." The Regulators charged out of the smoke cloud and almost fell over the Devaronian who was worming his way out of the alley. It would have been comical if he wasn't a murderer.

The Devaronian had awoken to the sound of blasterfire. He found himself face first on duracrete and he could smell garbage in the air. It took only a moment to realize that his wrists were bound behind his back. Out of the corner of his eye he saw the white fur of the Whipid traitor that had knocked him cold and ruined his plans. He grunted softly as he tried to get to his feet, failing that he began to move his knees under him and pull himself along with his chin. Someone had let loose a smoke grenade that provided him with cover as he inched out of the alley. He was beginning to feel hopeful that his minions' distraction was his chance to escape until a thick white furred tree-trunk of a leg stepped into his line of sight. The Devaronian growled and looked up in defiance before losing consciousness to the Whipid's fist.

Having lifted their bount over his shoulder, Kublai and Rooster ran into the streets, following the fleeing civilians and hoping that local security would arrive. In fact, Rooster was a bit curious why there wasn't any signs of a response even now. Not even a uniformed traffic officer screaming incoherently into his commlink.
