Well, there's a couple of things I feel in the Jedi that needs to change. I presonally think that the padawan rank is too drawn out, and tends to be longer than the Knight rank of any Jedi by a long shot. So, instead of teaching one numerous Force powers and such, I believe that a Padawan stage should consist of the Master teaching the Padawan the final stages of their Padawan training and their final trials, rather than their padawanship as a whole. Instead of teaching Force Powers, talk with the Padawan about what Force Powers you think are suitable for their character. MAke it an OOC learning experience as much as an IC one.

So, instead of teaching Force power after Force power, then lightsaber training step by step, instead change it to their final trials - a series of three threads that prove a Padawan worthy of advancement ater the trials of Mind, Body and Spirit, as well as a Preparation thread beforehand to set up OOC information, help with their current profile and way of RPing, and so on. Then, if the Padawan is successful, they will be granted Knighthood. This wil shorten Padawanship, and stretch out Knighthood to a more expectable level, and considering the majority of those who now join the Jedi already have a firm grasp on what they are going to do with their characters, teaching them theory behind Force powers and lightsaber form is somewhat of a moot point, as it's stuff they have already researched.

Plus, it'll make training Padawans less tedious on our side of things, less time consuming, and most importantly, allow a greater turnover and promotion rate of those few active Padawans we have. Of course, if the Padawan wishes it, the 'classic' method of teaching may also used, but only with consent on both sides.

Also, I think removal on the number of padawans a master or Knight may take at this point would be handy, as those with the time to train a padawan are stretched a little thin.

I personaly don't agree 100%. I like training threads where I introduce a character IC into the Jedi. Of course, I've never trained one where it's an exhaustive force-power by force-power. I introduce them to the force, then I have it as 'x' amount of time has spaned, then I introduce them to fighting, 'x' amount of time, while teaching philosophy the entire time. After the entirety, I say an 'x' amount of years, usually one or two, have passed, and then I bring them to the three triles.

I don't want to change the way the training is done either. There's alot of character development that takes place in these threads. However, I do believe there shouldn't be a limit to padawans a master takes on unless that master wishes not to take on more than he/she has.

Currently, my problem is that people aren't posting. Training's going slow because they post once and don't come back for weeks upon weeks. It isn't the training's fault. It's their devotion to their character.
