Padawan to Knight Training

Training in the Jedi has always been a problem, leading to Padawan's being placed under multiple masters, or just dropping off the grid entirely. I do not want this. I want to see as many knights as possible bustling in the order soon. As such, getting to Knighthood is going to be less rigid. The Master-Padawan system that is just seen as a hurdle has been tweaked. As such, It will be done in a new and snazzy way.

While each Padawan will still be tutored one on one by either a Master or a Knight, that teacher character will take on a much more supervisory role in some respects. Each master will be expected to train the Padawan just like old times, in a thread on one of the Jedi worlds, where they will still teach powers and lightsaber forms. On top of this, though, there's going to be a whole new aspect to the training of a Padawan.

This new aspect is Roleplaying. Simply using abilities will have your character slowly develop them. Be it in traditional training situations, missions, adventures with other Padawans, or even social RPs, using Force powers will over time hone them and allow you to work on others. Naturally, trainers should accompany Padawans to gauge their progress although this isn't necessary if the padawan reports in afterwards. It is recommended that a padawan is given some basic training before they go gallivanting off on missions, so that padawan at least have some knowledge of what they are doing. Once you feel you’ve gone through enough threads, learned enough Force powers, and generally finished being a Padawan, either ask your teacher to put you forward for knighthood or do it yourself using the method at the end of Padawan to Knight Training.

If you need some ideas for what to RP, we've got them: holocrons, visiting the Jedi Archives, or even pivotal moments in roleplays where your character *needs* to improve to save their skin. Of course, that doesn't mean we're telling you to go OVER 9000!!!!! When your opponent has their lightsaber to your neck, so we expect you to act responsible. Your imagination is the limit, so take these ideas and expand upon them in whatever direction you want to go in.

Another fancy little thing we’ll be doing is large group training sessions for Padawans or Knights by each of the council members or the Masters affiliated with them. These will occur at the temples that each council member is based at. These can apply to the Rping of the Padawans, and be a nice little boost for you Knights wanting to go into a certain area of Masterhood.

Now, as said before, as a padawan either you or your master can put you forward for promotion. This is done by posting a list of all the threads the padawan has been in (with links), and a brief description of what they have learned since they started training. This application is posted here in the format indicated in the opening post.

Knight to Master Training

Becoming a Master is often the greatest ambition of a Jedi. This is not without good reason, for the Jedi Masters are quite frankly the best and brightest of the Jedi Order. Besides the High Council themselves none can best a Master’s skill with the blade, power in the Force or way with words. They are exemplars of all that it means to be Jedi and as such they are treated with the utmost respect from their allies, and insurmountable loathing from their enemies.

Jedi Masters have several extra privileges and responsibilities afforded them by their position. They are trusted to a greater degree than other Jedi, as the Council knows them to be true in both strength and conviction. From this trust stems the ability to request more of the Order’s resources as needed, and the increased likelihood of such requests being granted. The responsibility comes in the form of special missions that the Council choose to give specifically to a Master. This occurs when they know the task is most perilous and vital, they know they can afford to send nothing less than one of their best.

The criteria for becoming a master are as follows:

- A Master has the same duties as a knight, as well as their own. Therefore those that maintain their knightly duties (going on missions, training padawans, leading and attending classes) are the only ones who can be considered for the rank of Master.

- A Master is an exemplar of what it means to be Jedi. To be considered for the title a Jedi must have mastered at least one aspect of being a Jedi - be it force use, saber skill, lore or diplomacy.

- A Master is a pillar of the Jedi, one who all know they can turn to in times of need. To be considered for the position of Master, a Jedi must be active.

An application for Masterhood looks exactly the same as an application for Knighthood, apart from that it is posted in the Knight to Master application thread. Please provide links to the threads the knight has undertaken, and details of what aspect of being a Jedi they have mastered and how. The link to the Knight to Master thread is here.
