Corellia, he could feel the tension and the anxiety in the force that surrounded the planet, it was strange how one action through the force could cause ripples throughout the galaxy. When Oren saw the news, he knew that he had to do something to investigate and aide the galaxy where they needed help the most. He called Trys and was directed to the support agencies within the Rangers. They needed help investigating the origins of the sabers and where they came from. The Jedi Master was not familiar with the officer that he would be working with today, but he knew he could count on him to try and ease the mind of those within the galaxy. Oren sat alone within a small park that overlooked the city--his legs were crossed as he meditated on the actions and flowing currents of the galaxy. We must do everything we can to protect the galaxy, this is the Jedi way...

Kal had heard about Jedi Master Oren, the Jedi that had been charged and incarcerated for two years. It didn't seem like the slammer had done much to turn the man into another one of the dregs of society, career criminals with no hope of redemption because they didn't even try. Then again, many systems in place to supposedly help them were flawed, just turning more and more back into the system to cycle through jail and probation. It was one of the things that disgusted the Tiss'Sharl, but it wasn't his place to do anything about it. He was just another cog in the machine, so he'd do his best to make everything run as efficiently as it could. Perhaps one day he'd help wear out the grooves and make things actually run smooth for everyone.

Corellia wasn't a planet he had been to much, but it wasn't foreign to him either. In a way it was a bit like Coruscant, just less crowded in areas. He walked up to where he was supposed to meet the Jedi, datapad out as he skimmed through what reports and information he could before starting. Not wanting to be rude, he put it away as he got close to his partner for this assignment. Giving a small salute, he extended his scaled hand to the other man. "Kal-Zyn-Dross, Sector Ranger, at your service. I wish we could meet under better circumstances. There's too many of these crime scenes these days."

Oren's eyes would open as he turned to face the man, his scars that he bore were on full display for the Ranger to see, his discolored cataract starting towards him, though a soft smile formed on his otherwise rough face. Most people paused when they saw him, their eyes were often averted towards the right side of his face, yet he couldn't see it from that side--it was often a strange sensation, that he secretly enjoyed.

As the man approached him, the Jedi Master would raise his mechanical hand with a gentle wave, "Kal.." He'd say with a soft nod, "Jedi Master Oren Zapan, please..come take a seat." He would peer out towards the park, as he felt the cool morning breeze against his face. "Like wise my friend, it seems these darksiders are becoming more and more brash as the time passes...It's important that we as a galaxy unite together and stand for a common cause. Do you happen to have any footage from your situation, I would like to take a look."

Hopefully any of the footage that remained, could help point them in the right direction, and towards solving this rising darkness that seemed to spread more and more across the galaxy.

"Of course, I have as much as I was able to get from the recordings." Pulling out the datapad he'd just been looking at, he tapped a few buttons to bring up the recordings, having been watching them on the way to the planet. The deaths of the other Rangers made his blood boil, but he used his personal willpower to keep it in check. Having a hot head wouldn't help anyone right now, especially not helping to bring justice to the fallen. He handed the datapad over to Oren, grimacing slightly at the motion. His new wound was still painful and taking a while to heal, but that's how he wanted it. A reminder of his own recent failure, and a promise not to repeat it. If he was disturbed by the Jedi's scars or dead eye, he didn't show it. He accepted people for who they were and to get freaked out by such things was pointless.

Oren held the datapad in his hand, his mechanical fingers sliding against the surface of the pad, as he bit down on the bottom of his lip. He had no idea on how such a contraption even worked, let alone how to pull up the videos he needed. He needed to get trained on this, and would ask Nara for some help eventually, but for now he just store at the screen. "Uh.."

His voice would waiver slightly, as he turned to look back towards the Ranger, "I don't know how to use these things," he'd say with some frustration, "Do you have any video footage from outside the camera," he would ask with some curiosity. If he could see the direction they came from, they would be able to pinpoint the direction and possibly look at more traffic cameras and possibly be able to figure out how they arrived on the planet.

Kal couldn't help but blink once in moderate surprise when Oren had issues using the datapad. Perhaps he had been so used to Max's innate skill that he thought it had translated to all jedi. "It's okay, sorry about that. Here, let's see if I can get access..." Taking the datapad back, Kal's fingers danced across the touchpad, a skill from his days as a business analyst. In that job you had to be both quick AND accurate, which is also where he was taught how to slice a little just from all the immersion in the programming world. He wasn't as good as dedicated slicers, but he could do in a pinch. He usually just liked using his computer spike, though.

After a couple of minutes, the information he requested appeared for viewing. The Rangers had secured a pretty wide-ranging warrant for this case, as the worlds of the Alliance were more than happy to help their defenders catch these criminals. The feeds from the building itself were limited to what they already had, but using street and business security camera feeds, he was able to fill in their arrival points in a somewhat jumpy but accurate collection of images. "Aha, there we go. This should tell us where they landed from, maybe if we're lucky it'll give us a look at their ships as well." He handed the datapad back to Oren, assisting with its operation as needed, trying to be helpful and hoping he wasn't being condescending or patronizing. He really wasn't trying to be.

Oren would scan over the video as it was handed to him, his head leaning forward into the screen as he looked over every pixel that was on the screen, his hand tapping against the screen in an attempt to pause it. He thought he saw something from a few different angles on the camera. His mechanical hand tapping against the screen. "Here.."

He would point out a group of men cloaked in black, that could faintly be seen from a rooftop, looking down onto the crowd below. He also noticed one man across the street, hidden behind a cargo-speeder. "It looks like they came from there, and were staking this out.." He'd hum a bit as he contemplated the findings.

"Let's take a look at the building and see if we can find anything, possible footage or something along the lines." He'd stand up, handing the datapad back to the Ranger.

Kal took the datapad back, already working on seeing what building that was and who owned or operated it. "Are you going to try to pick up memories from the place? I worked with another Jedi who was able to see who a murderer was in a case doing that, which helped identify him and bring him to justice. Really got to him, though, since he saw the thing go down like he was there. I can't even imagine what that must be like...I'll tell you the same thing I told him, I wish I had the Force to be able to do these kinds of things as well. Could catch criminals quicker, prevent more pain or loss of life instead of them roaming free..." This was something that ate at him quite a bit.

Arriving at the building in question, Kal led them to the spot the cameras had picked up the men, still working on getting a better view or feed. "Hmm...looks like its a parts salesman, for speeders and other vehicles. Seems closed, probably spooked by the carnage at the Station. No connection to an outer network..." He looked up at the sides of the buildings, spotting cameras. Good ones. "Probably a closed network. If I could get at the computer, I'd be able to get the recordings."

The Jedi Master raised a brow at the Ranger's assessment, you could see the force through objects, but it had to have a heavy lingering echo, and he doubted that it would have such a thing along the roof. Though his other words seemed to interest him more than anything, the thought of having the force and how it would make things easier. "The Force is inside of you, and all things my friend...but, I understand what you mean."

With powers like this came the temptation for more, and it was one that every single one of them had to deal with, "But, this life is difficult and you wouldn't be the person you are today..embrace who you are, you're the only one in the galaxy." He'd say with a smile as they walked towards the store, taking a peek around.

"Do you think someone could be inside, I'm sure we could ask nicely...I'm sure business has been rough after everything that happened here."

As time was of the essence, Kal was about to just break in and spike the data they needed, though he'd lock up and return everything to normal before leaving. The odds that there was someone even here to open the door for them, let alone use their computer, was quite slim. Still, it wouldn't hurt to try. Going up to the door, the Ranger gave a few hard raps before stepping back and waiting. He was about to take out his lockpicks and other such tools when the big garage door opened, a grizzled old man's face peeking out. "The hell do you want? Can't you see we're closed? Don't want no trouble, not like what happened over yonder." He seemed suspicious, but mostly cautious.

Smiling, Kal flashed his badge while moving in a non-threatening manner. "Hey there, chief. My name is Kal, of the Sector Rangers. This here is my deputy, Oren. I know this is a bit sudden, but we've been looking into those terrorists that blasted up our office as you pointed out. We think your cameras might have some information we could use." The old man's face darkened slightly, not wanting to get involved in what could be a dangerous investigation. That was when he noticed some credit chits for a fair amount start dancing between Kal's fingers. "Of course, I won't ask for something for nothing, that's not who I am. If it's cool with you, I'll pay you for a day's normal work in exchange for a copy of the footage. Sound fair?"

It was more than fair, as the mechanic's eyes lit up at the thought of SOME income for the day. He waved them to come inside, locking up behind them as he gave them access to his computer. Kal copied the footage first, then played back to around when Oren had mentioned in the previous recording. These cameras caught a good amount of footage of the criminals, including where they had come from at the next door spaceport. As luck would have it, their ship had landed in range of the camera, though partially obscured. It was enough to get a make and model, something to ask the attendants of the spaceport by. Thanks, sir. Oren, let's go over to the spaceport, I think that's where we'll get what's left of what we need." He'd let the Jedi lead them there, he was interested to see what kind of diplomatic skills the man had.

Oren would watch the ranger with some interest, as he flashed credits to the store owner. He wasn't sure the legality of such a practice or if it was a common occurrence among their ranks--but, he wouldn't mention it. If anything, it was far better than a simple mind trick, which the Jedi Master despised doing--it felt wrong, and he reserved it only for certain circumstances where it would save that person from their death.

But, it seemed the credit exchange had worked, and the footage from the building had begun to copy over. Oren watched with some amusement at the ease of the man's ease and skill with technology, but did his best to focus on the footage as it slowly began to trickle in. His suspicions were confirmed when he saw from the shop's footage that they had indeed come from that spaceport. It seemed risky, and well rather brash that they would have come from so close, but often the darkside was not something that did things that one would deem reasonable.

He would give a gentle bow towards the shop owner, revealing that he probably wasn't a deputy like Kal had said, but rather some strange diplomat--with a nasty set of scars. The two of them would along the path towards the busy spaceport Security units had been deployed to guard and monitor the area after recent events, and the Jedi Master didn't blame them. "I can do the talking if you'd like."

Kal silently gestured for Oren to take the lead, flashing his badge to the guard to let them know they were here on official business. Said guard seemed suspicious at first, yet when he got a closer look he saw it was legitimate. He'd seen plenty during his time at the dock, being so close to the Ranger station, yet he still didn't fully come off his guard. "Afternoon, Rangers. Something I can help you with? I hope you catch those guys what shot up your office. We were all shocked when we heard, this is a good neighborhood. I can't leave my post, and I wasn't on shift that day, so I don't know how I can help you out." At least he seemed sympathetic in his concern for the well being of the Rangers.

The Jedi Master would peer towards the Corellian with a soft smile, which had to seem odd coming from a man with half his face burned to a crisp, but Oren didn't mind if he looked strange, instead he would focus on giving a gentle bow. "Good Afternoon friend, I am Jedi Master Oren Zapan and this my friend Ranger Kal Zyn Dross."

He would let the words hang in the air for a few moments, gauging the reaction of the Corellian. He knew that they weren't the most liked people during this time, "We're looking into the case of those criminals that attacked the facility, and we found that their starships came here." He'd say with a gentle sigh, "We would like to take a look at some footage or your ship logs to see if we can find any information about the ship."

At the mention of the Jedi, the guard's face darkens slightly. "Jedi? Weren't you the guys wanted originally for all this crap going on?" It seemed he followed the news quite closely, but then he remembered the other broadcasts and the fact that Oren was with a verified Sector Ranger. He was obviously conflicted, not knowing if he would get in trouble for helping, or if he were helping the right people. The galaxy was so difficult these days and while he felt bad for what had happened to the Rangers, he had his own life and well being to worry about.

Kal spoke up now, smiling lightly and shrugging. "Originally, yeah. Funny thing about investigations, as they go on, you learn things, sift truth from falsehood. Long story short, the guys doing all these killings aren't the Jedi. That's why we need everything we can find to hunt them down. I can go get a warrant, waste all our time with the paperwork, but that could hurt your pay and make it more likely these guys get away. What if next time they came back and just decided to bomb everything around here? That's what we want to prevent, and time is of the essence." He wasn't trying to threaten, just reiterate the danger that the Red Sabers posed. This did seem to get through to the man, who looked back to Oren, as if asking what the man needed again.

The Jedi Master would bow his head slightly in humility, it was true that they were not well liked around the galaxy, and it was partially his fault. The man would have most likely recognized his face from the holonews, but that was in the past and Oren had accepted his punishment, even if it was in defense of another. "We understand the situation and the disinformation that surrounds our Order." The Jedi Master would smile as he looked back towards the man.

"We want to leave the galaxy in peace and left to live their own lives, we want to live among the communities like we have..That is why we must stop these men as Ranger Kal said. If you could please show us the record logs from the day of the incident, the whole manifest, we can isolate all the ships that match the footage we have collected. It would be of a great service to everyone if we could get this." The Jedi Master could only hope that this was enough to get what they needed.

The man relented, faced with the sincerity and need of the Sector Ranger and Jedi Master. He told them to wait a moment as he communicated with his fellows inside the spaceport. Once a replacement was there for him, he led the two into the main building and to the computer system they used. Kal needed to have his membership with the Rangers confirmed by the Manager on duty, but that was a trivial thing at that point. Everything in place, Kal began to access the information that they needed, mainly the security footage as well as the ship information once their vessels had been confirmed by the footage. There was no guarantee that the information was correct, as at the very least it would be logical to assume the terrorists had used fake names and such for their ships, but there was information enough in make, model, and other information that couldn't be faked, that could be useful.

Once he was done, a copy of the information created that the Manager approved of, it was time for them to leave. That was all of the trail that they could find, yet it was enough for a start. At the very least, it was a puzzle piece that could be added to others. Kal had enjoyed working with the Jedi, which had been a lot more calm of an experience than he had thought it would be. He was more curious about the order now, though that would be something to look in to when he could visit their planet. For now, there were killers to hunt down.
