The path of a Padawan learner could be difficult, at times. Dealing with such a monumental change in their lives, combined with the trials and learning that the Jedi Path required, it could be overwhelming. Especially so for those Padawans in their teenage years. The pressure of their training, combined with the general burden of living through their adolescence and growth into adults, could be more than any of them could bear at times.

Of course, there was always support in the Temple. There were Knights who would listen and provide sage advice. Records and holobooks, filled with valuable teachings. Each of them had their own Master, who would support them through their apprenticeship and give them support whenever they asked for it. Though, sometimes, the only person that can help a teenager is... another teenager. A positive relationship with your master is invaluable, but you just need someone sharing your situation now. Just to vent, sometimes. With the encouragement of her master, Nara had set out to make a group, just for Padawans. She'd phrased it as something that would aid their studies and support their training but honestly, having someone to talk to who didn't speak in the mysteries of the Force constantly would make her feel a little less... spaced out.

Off to the side of the Temple's library, Nara sat at a table, staring at a holobook. Her brow furrowed a little more as she tried to concentrate. She'd read the same line twelve times over and it was starting to irritate her. The combined wisdom of thousands of years of Jedi could sometimes be the most infuriatingly dense bantha crap in all the Galaxy. She tried again, knowing that she had important trials on the horizon, knowing that there was something in there that'd help... until she read the same words again. A true Jedi must then take stock of their emotions and not allow them to rule over...

With a grumpy sigh, she shoved the holobook away from herself angrily, watching it skid over the table. Her eyes rolled up to the ceiling as she leaned back, folding her arms huffily. "I think I'm just gonna crush myself under all those books. It'd be easier than trying to read them," she complained to the collected group, as she drummed her fingers on the table. "I swear they wrote all these to annoy us. These Jedi Masters never existed, it's just somebody trying to torture us."

Izel lived for study and rumination on the Force, and so when she had caught word of a group of Padawans designed to "aid in studies and support training" she could not sign up fast enough. Her master was happy to see her making an effort to socialize at the temple, and also grateful to have some relief from her constant pestering and questions. The young Vratix had eagerly joined her fellow Padawans in the library and was deeply engrossed in a holobook of her own when another suddenly slid across the table.

The insectoid alien sat up in surprise, looking to Nara curiously as she made her complaints. "I swear they wrote all these to annoy us. These Jedi Masters never existed, it's just somebody trying to torture us." At that Izel tilted her head and replied earnestly.

"I can't see why they would do such a thing..." She said, not picking up on the sarcastic tone. After a pause her antennae twitched thoughtfully. "Although... perhaps that in and of itself is a test? Maybe our masters intentionally gave us some false information in an effort to see if we can discern truth from fiction..." She perked up suddenly, her head starting to swarm with overly complicated ideas. "Or maybe they are trying to teach us something else entirely! My people have always considered some senses inferior to others. Perhaps we are meant to contemplate the very nature of history and truth. How can we know for certain what is and is not if we do not possess physical proof of what has been asserted?" She put down her own holobook, looking up thoughtfully as she descended into a philosophical quagmire. "This is just the sort of unconventional thinking I've been failing to take advantage of! This group is already helping me to become a better Jedi!" With that she fell silent, seemingly missing the point of what had been said entirely.

Giran had never been the most social of padawan's he preferred to keep himself to himself, that way he couldn't say something stupid. Recently, however, his instructors had been trying to impress upon him that no jedi was an island and that friends and allies were important. So, when he'd heard about these study sessions he'd reluctantly come along. So when he heard Nara's Huff's of indignation and Izel's optimistic reply he knew study was probably over.
Putting down his own holo book (a very interesting account of Grandmaster Rey's training with Luke Skywalker) Giran piped up.
"I wouldn't put it past them Izel but I think the Knights use 'self study' time as an excuse to go get drunk where we can't see them." Giran smirked
He leaned in conspiratorially.
"The other day I saw that knight... Um Ash I think his name is... Pull a hip flask out while we were cooking" he whispered
Of course Giran didn't really think the Knights did anything of the sort but he had seen the hip flask. Plus Giran had been studying diligently for the past two years, a little idle gossip wasn't going to hurt anyone.

Soft ruffling of robes and tunics would betray movement of another Padawan strolling over through the grounds to join the others, just before the tall, thin shadow cut across the table, looming over them.

"Helloo."

Whined out an alien voice as Ke Eoto came to join them, opening his mouth wide to force the word out from within his throat loud enough for them to hear, the joints at his jowls popping lightly beneath the chitinous plates on his face as his jaw unhinged slightly, flashing them a look at the rows of small, sharp teeth lining the inside of his split beak. Ke Eoto wore his usual tan and brown tunics and robes, with wraps over his hands and feet, although even with his powerful looking claws exposed, the Blood Carver made little sound as he moved. In a cradle of his elongated arms, he carried a collection of actual books, and a datapad. The tomes were visibly new, made from synthetic paper and bound in some utilitarian and practical covering, surely synthetic as well. They must have been one of the copies of knowledge kept by the library in low-tech formats just in case of emergencies, or in Ke Eoto's case, in case someone preferred not to deal with technology.

That was the main reason he decided to join the study group: it gave him access to help in dealing with technology without having to ask his instructors. Also having someone nearby with fingers fat and squishy enough to work the touchscreen of a datapad properly was good too.

In fact as he came up to their table, and set his collection of books down, his tight blue eyes scanned over Giran's hands. Yes, those fingers would surely work a datapad without an issue. He rumbled out to himself approvingly as he unloaded a couple of holobooks from the pockets of his robes and looked to Izel and Nara.

"What neews?"

He croaked out as he slipped onto one of the seats and plopped down, joining the study group as he asked what they were just talking about.

Breathe.

Just breathe.

Galen repeated those words inside of his head as he quietly ambled around the library, hands clenched anxiously in front of his chest. He had arrived just a handful of days ago and was still getting used to the freedom that the Temple offered for somebody with the tendency to run away. He barely knew anybody, and those he could remember the name of he wasn't familiar with, even his new master was still another unknown in this uncharted sea.

Just thinking about the connotations surrounding the word 'master' generated a dull pain in his head that he tried to shrug off, now wasn't the time to be thinking about the past. No, for now, he'd continue trying to muster up the courage to join the other padawans who were seated around a table. He had heard about this study group and was anticipative of joining it, but when he had shown up there were already three people and a fourth had just arrived.

He stopped, discreetly peering around a holobook shelve to eye the group again before he began his restless pacing.

Nara tried her hardest to be nice. She really did. One day, they'd write vast chronicles about her inner struggle to stop herself snarking at others. However, hearing Izel miss the point entirely was enough to make her roll her eyes so hard that they could probably hear it on Coruscant.

"I think they're too busy cooing to each other about ~The Force~ to play those kinds of games. They act so wise but they aren't that clever." She clicked her tongue again, thinking back to the Knights she'd met... and the Masters she'd seen from afar. They all seemed too contemplative to be especially quick thinkers.

Nara laughed, however, as Giran described what he'd seen. "Seriously? Oh, no way! I knew they were up to something!" The idea of all these pious Jedi flitting around, slipping drinks out of flasks when nobody was looking, tickled her. "I bet they have a still or something, underneath the Jedi Temple. Jedi brew. That's why they act so space-y." She made a mental note to see if she could smell it on any of them... though maybe going up to the Jedi Masters and sniffing around them was inviting more attention than she really wanting.

The conversation stopped for a moment as someone new joined them. Nara's eyes went wider as the alien joined them, rustling his tunics as he sat with them. She'd never seen someone like his species before... but anyone was welcome. So she shrugged her shoulders and offered him a smile.

"Hi. We're just talking about the Masters. Complaining, really." She teased her holobook back to her, letting it open once again. Letting out a sigh as the words popped up again, the drudgery of the task before her filling her from head-to-toe. "If you need help picking through the thoughts of a dead Jedi from billions of years ago, we're your group, supposedly." Nara had been encouraged to start the group so they may all help each other and seek support from others like them. She wasn't sure how much that was bearing out in reality.

She looked up and saw another, fairly-young looking guy looking over a shelf at them. She caught him looking before he turned off, pacing a little away. Frowning, she stood up from the table she'd been using. "I'll be a sec, guys," she told them as she headed out into the main library itself, approaching the one who'd looked over at them.

"Hey!" Nara said brightly as she approached him. "You uh... looking to study? We can always use more people," she suggested, moving carefully in front of him. Trying not to get in the way, but enough so that she could get a good look at him. "You wouldn't happen to know anything about the role of emotion and peace in the Jedi Masters prior to the Galactic Alliance, would you? Because I sure don't and I'm losing the will to live," she teased, smirking at him.

"we weren't really complaining..." Giran explained as Nara left to, presumably, find another book to throw across the table.
"We were just having a healthy vent 'emotion YET peace' and all that." He looked over at Izel hoping that that might placate her zeal for the order and their mystical ways. It was only now he realised what the newcomer had brought, it was a pile of real books. Real, tactile, synthetic books. He hadn't seen a real book since his childhood on Mirial. They even smelled right!
" Are you doing some kind of ancient research? " Giran asked inquisitively
"I love real books, a datapad just doesn't cut it"
He grabbed one and felt the cover, bound in simple leather with no markings on it.
"Can I help you, truth be told I'm all caught up on my studies but this has to be incredible!" He pleaded
Ke Eoto must have done something really spectacular to earn the right to these books and Giran wanted in no matter what.

"I am one of the guuuys."

Nara would hear the alien croak out in what must have passed as amusement while she left to talk to Galen. The Blood Carver was about to voice his own thoughts on complaining about the Jedi Masters and views towards their superiors, when Giran took especial notice in the books Ke Eoto brought in with him.

"Is recent coo-pies. I think lie-brary keeps them in case there is no elec-tricity, or some cuurse destroys all daata-pads. I loan them bee-cause I cut into daata-pads too often."

The alien explained, raising his closest hand to brandish the black, long talons protruding from his handwraps, extending from the elongated fingers that had one knuckle more than human ones.

"Is Finer Points of Boun-ty Hun-ting."

The Blood Carver informed Giran, tapping the utilitarian cover of the book his fellow padawan took to examine.

"And Hist-ory of Boun-ty Hun-ting Guild, Codices of Jedi Inves-tea-gators, and most recent Laws of the Free World Alli-ance."

Ke Eoto listed off the names of the other three books he placed on the table.

"I feel calling to the waywaard path of the Jedi Senti-nel-Inqui-sitor, but knight-errants need to be fami-liar with pursuit of injust-ice within law-confines- this whole time I haave been saying 'sere-nity yet peas'"

The Blood Carver finished his train of thought, words groan out forcibly through his golden, thin gullet, making the loose skin on his long neck shake with the sounds as he suddenly came to realization of past mistakes.

Izel tilted her head confusedly as Nara and Giran talked, surprised they seemed so amused by the idea of their masters getting drunk rather than attending to their duties. The idea mortified her quite frankly, especially considering it might be the answer to why Master Reev tried to slip away in private whenever he had the opportunity. She would have to ask him about that later.

She was as delighted as Giran to see paper books, something she too had to hunt for. She turned to the Mirialan and reached out to brush her fingers along the cover as well, clicking happily. "I had no idea the library kept these types of copies," She said with genuine shock. "I must borrow some when I have the opportunity. I'd like to learn how to bind them myself..." She looked up with great interest as Ke Eoto described the contents. "You might be interested to speak with my Master, he follows the path of the Sentinel," She explained. "I'm more attracted to the path of the Consular myself. I abhor fighting." She looked to Giran with a curious twitch of her antennae. "Have you thought about what you are going to do once you become a knight Giran?" She asked inquisitively. It seemed the young Vratix had given up on studying as well, finally starting to socialize properly.

Now to say he got frightened and jumped would've been an overstatement, but the boy had been surprised and instinctively clutched a shelf when he had been called out by an unfamiliar voice from behind him. Reasons as to why somebody was addressing him flooded his mind. Did he do something wrong? Was he not supposed to be here? Was he already in trouble?

No, stop being an idiot.

Galen began to calm down once he turned, or rather stayed still as she had moved in front of him, and realized that it was another padawan around his age. A girl with chestnut hair and brown eyes who was smirking at him for a reason he didn't remember until he recounted what she had said to him.

"Uh...yeah-" His voice came out a little higher pitched than usual, which he quickly rectified, "Y-yeah. I heard that there was a group for padawans and I'm...new…" The last word he uttered quieter than the rest, looking a bit sheepish. "As for the role of emotions and stuff in those masters…" Galen smiled slightly when he realized she was joking.

Perhaps talking to new people wouldn't be as bad as he thought.

Somm glanced to his right, yet more padawans were beginning to congregate in one of the study nooks that were offset from the centre of the library. The noise they were making was steadily growing, as they all seemed to be enthralled by something that Ke Eoto had brought over to them. It seemed that he wasn't the only one to take notice, a few of the Knights were looking over in their general direction.

Somm sighed loudly, a passive aggressive move but he hoped that one of them was paying attention. They weren't and Somm stood as the human female with brown hair seemingly pulled in another padawan into their little group. He stood and walked towards them, planning to politely ask them to keep the noise down as there were plenty of other who were attempting to study at this time.

"I'm really sorry to interrupt but, this is a Library and there are some of us really trying to..." He stopped mid-sentence as he finally saw what the Blood Carver had brought with him to the table " Are those real books?"

Nara returned to the group, seeing them leaning in around where Ke Eoto had laid out the copies of the texts he'd found. Actual paper copies. Even Nara, who was about as interested in studying The Laws of The Free Worlds Alliance as she was in mucking out rancor pens, was quite impressed with the presence of real paper.

The approaching Twi'lek had a certain look in his eye that made Nara want to laugh. Something about the grumpy look there. They were about to get told off, she was sure. Until he noticed the books. She grinned at him.

"Oh, are we good enough for your attention now?" she teased, winking at Somm as she looked over one of the other texts, The Codices of Jedi Investigators. Plainly, the conversation had moved onto the paths they wanted to follow in knighthood. It scared Nara to think about everyone else being all so certain of what they wanted to do.

"Don't know if I have the patience to do the whole Sentinel, investigate crimes thing," she admitted. "Anyway, I doubt we'll be called up to do much fighting, whatever path we take. Too many people to help out there before we start poking a saber around, looking for a fight. You might be fine yet, Izel."

"Ideally there should be no fighting once crimi-nal confroonted with the law."

The Blood Carver croaked out to his fellow insectoid first, glancing to Izel while other padawans begun to take greater interest in the collection of books he brought.

"Is mostly screeming about justice until they suubmiit, which I enjoy."

He added with another strange and clumsy vocalization of the words. He did make a mental note to talk to Izel more about her master and see if there's a chance upcoming for him to speak with the more experienced Sentinel. Although, the Council deemed Ke Eoto to fit better with a Jedi from a different path as his master rather than a Sentinel for a reason. Still, it wouldn't hurt to learn more about the duties he will take on in the future first hand.

Either way, by then Nara returned to their table with another padawan in toe, and even Somm who apparently came with intent to trim their fun in the bud was taken with presence of actual books.

"Library keeps them as speecial requests for Jedi who can't use dataapads or holo pro-ject-ors propeerly."

The Blood Carver groaned out to Somm in turn, explaining how he managed to obtain physical texts once more, raising his closest hand to show off the thin, long, hard talons on his hands.

"Or vooice comm-ands."

He added, that one was pretty self explanatory. Although if this is how much attention he would get every time he brought these tomes out, Ke Eoto might decide to just study in his room from now on.

"Fighting is last ree-solve for Jedi."

The Blood Carver croaked out lightly, the words rattling his split beak with vibrations, offering the words as his contribution to the argument Nara was making on how others would do most of the fighting before any of them gets involved. Either way, he reached over to grab his copy of The Laws Of The Free Worlds Alliance, reclaiming the copy as it seemed to have been getting the least amount of attention, most likely because unlike the other books it did not contain any pictures or diagrams, and opened it up. For one, he was planning on getting at least some studying done in between socializing.

It was then that he produced a smaller book from the confines of his robes, a notebook, and a laser-pen. Much like the books others were examining, it was made out of synthetic materials, cheap and easy to replicate in a lab, as opposed to wood-born paper. The pages that the padawans examined would have felt different from paper on Earth, smooth and filmy like thickened plastic, but to them it would have been as real and corporeal as any ancient tome, as opposed to the flickering words on their datapads and holoprojectors they would have been used to.

"Yes they are!" Izel replied to the approaching Twi'lek excitedly before moving over. "Come and take a look, fascinating aren't they?" She turned back to Ke Eoto and Nara as she returned, listening closely as they argued their points on violence and the Jedi.

"I suppose you're right," Izel conceded. "Even so, I'd much rather spend my time exploring new worlds and studying the history of the Jedi than dealing with criminals. The Order has almost been extinguished twice in the last century. It's important we learn what went so wrong to avoid such a tragedy in the future." She tapped the book she had been reading before their conversation started, titled: The Clone Wars and the Failure of the Jedi. "It seems to me the dogmatic rules of the old Order may very well have been the chief factor in their downfall." She chittered in amusement as she looked at Nara. "If you don't like how things are now I doubt you would have lasted ten seconds back then."

"Personally I agree with Ke Eoto." Giran said after some contemplating "Everyone says I'm more of a consular but my master always says there is more to life than books and the force. Then you have the guardians who all seem a little too hard headed for me to really fit in. So I guess sentinel is the only thing left."
Wondered at his own thoughts. He'd not even really thought about it until he said it out load but it felt right. He supposed he wanted to be a sentinel.

He watched the newcomers approach.
"Welcome to the cool kids table, we're talking about what path we want to take when we're Knights" Giran whispered lowering his voice due to Somm's disapproving stare.
"Sweet Izel is going to be a consular and probably end up on the council before I even pass the trials, Nara hasn't said yet but I'd put a million credits on her being a guardian, she just has that scary kind of face and me and Ke Eoto fancy being the awesome ones. You guys have any ideas?" Giran asked grinning at his own jokes.

Nara narrowed her eyes slightly at Izel as she teased her about the rules. She shrugged, leaning back against the table. "You're right. I probably wouldn't have liked it. But like you said, they all ended up dead so... I guess all their rules are a crock then, aren't they?" Of course she'd heard about the Old Jedi. The Republic. She might have read a few things about them too, though ponderous tomes based around the past were hardly her idea of light reading.

"You ever say I have a scary face again, we'll see if you make it to becoming a Knight," Nara said to Giran with a fierce frown, which lasted all of a few seconds before she broke into giggles and stuck her tongue out at him. "Honestly? Everyone I've ever known has called me hard-headed and stubborn, so maybe Guardian is the right path for me. Or not. Who knows? Trust in the Force, they say," she said, with the tone of someone who really, really didn't.

"Ke Eoto and you can go off solving crimes on backwater colonies, Izel can read books all day and learn the 'deeper mysteries,'" she said, complete with air quotes, "and I'll just run around making sure everyone's safe and stop anyone from getting hurt. Gotta watch out with all these books. Might drop one on your foot, bruise your toe."

"I'm not entirely sure what I will be. I'm not even entirely sure of what I 'want' to be" Somm blurted out as Nara finished speaking. "I mean, it seems so tribal, you're either a guardian, sentinel or consualr." He continued adressing the whole group.

"It seems that, even though the Jedi of old are gone, we still hold ourselves to their standards. At what pont do we move on and forge our own paths? Some of the great Masters in history seem to exhibit the traits of all three."

For the most part, the Blood Carver had his snout angled down to his book on the laws of the Free Worlds Alliance, one hand moving along with the text, the other moving the laser-pen over the synth-paper pages of his notebook, writing down his thoughts and important bits of information in a strange languages of the Blood Carvers, seemingly mostly made up of three lines intersecting and repeating in various patterns over and over again to form letters and words. Although it became clear that he was still listening to their conversation when he looked up finally,

"What is wrong with being tri-baal?"

He croaked out in response to Somm's comment, as probably the only one at the table who was born to, and raised in, an actual tribe. The alien did not push the issue further, however, or did not sound especially upset, although reading him might have been rather difficult to those who were not used to recognizing what anger might have looked like on that beaked face. Mostly his expressions just consisted of twitching chitinous plates, relaxing and elongating his face or contracting it in, flattening the snout into a golden mask, almost featureless as the lines of his beak became less visible. For now, still seemed somewhat relaxed, although his face-plates did pull in when he heard the mention of needing to move away from the old ways.

"The three schools are just guuide-lines anyway, they're not as strict as they soound. Some Jedi of old did not even pick one from what I reead."

The insectoid alien reassured Somm, tilting this beak to scrutinize the Twi'lek with those two narrow, pale-blue, inhuman eyes,

"There is no ruuls against Con-su-lors being masters of saber as well as Force, or Guaard-ians taking time to stuudy ancient phi-los-ophy in addendum. Plus there are maany paths, some of which shaared by schools. Is not someething to worry about."

He added in another croak, fluctuating the words through his groans and rasps as he did his best to make the strange, alien sounds that passed for Basic. The Blood Carver turned his head to look to the other padawans though,

"I do think old codes and traa-ditions need to be preseerved. It may be dogma-"

As he said the word he looked at Itzel directly, it became pretty clear that although he stayed silent earlier, the Blood Carver did not agree with her stance on the order of old,

"-but it is dogma the Jedi Order foo-llowed for millenniums. Cooountless generaations stand behind it now. If we aree to for-sake and move on from it now, then what was the point of pree-serving all these ancieent teexts and old knoo-wledge? What was the pooint of fight-ing so haard to revivee this Order?"

The Blood Carver asked and felt silent, although it became fairly clear by the speed of his speech and slightly squawking his tone took on that the thought of moving away from the traditions of the Old Order was giving him some agitation. He let his words sink in, and perhaps a bit of silence to fall on the group as he leaned down over his notes, continuing his process of reading and writing his thoughts as he croaked out,

"It's juust that to me it is not lightsaaber or eveen the Force that make the Jedi. You can haave both without being a Jedi. It is per-se-verance and dedi-caations to our coodes and oaaths, the traditions and doogma of ancieents."

He added as he wrote, his earlier agitation dying down now and calmness returning to his speech as he focused more on writing again.

Izel practically glowed at the mentioned prospect of sitting on the council, though her attention was quickly drawn back to the debate brewing between Somm and Ke Eoto. She listened closely to the Blood Carver's arguments, antennae flicking slightly as she became more thoughtful. Once he was finished speaking she took a slow and measured response to his words. For her own part the Vratix remained perfectly calm, more interested in simply discussing the merits of both outlooks then trying to sway others to her way of thinking.

"I understand what you mean," She said respectfully to her other Padawan. "The basic tenets of the Order: protecting the weak, delivering peace and justice, seeking greater knowledge, these are things we should preserve. But surely you understand that as time passes any institution, just as any animal in the wild, needs to adapt to a changing environment. Your people are famed hunters yes? Imagine you wanted to capture food so you laid a snare, but the snare never caught anything. You obviously wouldn't keep setting the same snare in the same place every day correct? You would starve. As a hunter you would need to adapt to the behavior of your prey. Likewise the Jedi Order must adapt to the changing galaxy, or we will 'starve' as well. For example, the old Order's view on personal connections and love. I am sorry to say it but they are objectively contradictory to our mission. How can one care about the well-being of the galaxy if they suppress all emotions? A level and unbiased mind is necessary to mete out justice yes, but apathy leads to arbitrary and inevitably unjust conclusions. And love? Love does not by virtue of it's existence turn one to the dark side. In fact it is love that can draw out the best in people. It was the love for his father that allowed Luke Skywalker to see past his father's actions and redeem him. You are correct in saying the Jedi are more than lightsabers and Force sensitivity. But we are more than rulebooks as well." She looked at Nara.

"Of course we should not dismiss the old ways out of hand either. We can always learn from our predecessors…" She looked around the table expectantly, clearly enjoying the turn the conversation had taken. The young Vratix was eager to hear what the others' opinions were on the matter as well.

Giran listened to the two talk, they both had very interesting points to make but differed only slightly on there narrative. He'd heard similar points made a few times but rarely so compellingly. They truly were the next generation.

"Would you mind Izel?" Giran asked tentatively taking 'The Clone Wars and the failure of the Jedi' from her. He opened it to the particular page he wanted.
"This is a quote from the Jedi Padawan Bariss Offee" Giran started slowly "she, like me, is a Mirialan and had bombed the Jedi temple. She was not a dark sider."
He cleared his throat.
"I did it. Because I've come to realize what many people in the Republic have come to realize, that the Jedi are the ones responsible for this War. That we've so lost our way that we have become villains in this conflict, that we are the ones that should be put on trial, all of us! And my attack on the Temple was an attack on what the Jedi have become: an army fighting for the dark side, fallen from the Light that we once held so dear. This Republic is failing! It's only a matter of time." Giran recited the text perfectly, to be frank he could probably do it from memory. This particular quote was very popular with his father.
"On Mirial the force is part of our entire lives, we practiced before the jedi's teachings and I think will continue to until there isn't a single one of us left alive" Giran continued "but we chose to follow the Jedi to give up our children to the cause, when someone like that turns against you ... Well something is very wrong."
His father had said much the same thing to Giran when he'd first been told he had potential to become a jedi. Giran did believe in the Jedi but he could never abide by the rules that the previous order had followed so rigidly.
"Morality just isn't something you can make a rule for and by trying to do just that the Jedi were used and betrayed. We are helpers and peacekeepers; not the galaxies moral compass." Giran finished surprised at how much he had to say on the subject. He put the book down and looked around a bit abashed.
"I don't mean to sound anti-jedi, it's just something I've been thinking about, and I do in essence agree with you both. I just worry. Alot of mirialans had a tough time after the purge... There was even a mirialan inquisitor." He shuddered.
