This will be quite a night, Alton imagines. Rangers are here to be bodyguards and protection for a judge. A judge that their intel says that he is at risk of attack by the Black Sun group; for being projected to rule against a lawsuit from a minor ship-building company the the Black Sun allegedly haves ties to.

The judge, Jace Veridan they are protecting seems to be a free-spirit and isn't so fond of having escorts. He doesn't have any ill-will against the Rangers, but he rather didn't have bodyguards and thinks he will be a-okay and nothing bad will happen. Although it's been explained to the judge multiple times that it's just for his own safety just in case, he still doesn't care for the protection, doesn't think he will need it.

The judge is right now slated to be staying in an obscure motel building, at the Rangers behest for his protection until the thing blows over. Alton was driving the speeder with him and his partner (@Insalius) over, but they were late getting to the motels because skylane traffic was jammed. As the Rangers were walking the halls on the third floor of the building, they would be approaching the room "There it is" Alton gestured to it as he'd look to his partner. "Ready? This guy might be a handful" he asked.

Alton is ready. He has his blaster set to stun on his person holstered, is wearing plain clothes with his blast vest obscured by clothing, and Sector Rangers badge visible on his belt.

Hopefully this day turns out to be uneventful and all goes well.

Well, there didn't seem to be any shortage of interesting events happening on Coruscant. This was the world Kal worked on the most, so he was more familiar with some of the neighborhoods and backstreets than most. When he read the dossier of the Judge they were supposed to protect, he couldn't help rolling his eyes a little. Of COURSE he'd be this kind of guy, and of course luck would have the motel assigned to him be right next a gambling and prostitution district. It was like giving water to a thirsty man and telling him not to drink. What did people THINK would happen? "Oh, trust me, I'm about as ready for this as I'm going to be. I'm going to bet you dinner that he's not going to be in there. I'll bet you TWO dinners that he's got his pillows laid up under the blanket to look like he's sleeping when he's actually dipped out the bathroom window." He hoped he was wrong, but he figured that the universe wouldn't be kind enough to surprise him today.

After getting to the door, he'd start to open it. "I don't doubt it" going by the profile of the judge, he wouldn't be surprised. People constantly do the opposite of whats for their own good all the time. When the door was open he could see all the motel room. After turning on the lights, he'd would find what would appear to be a person under the bed.

"Judge Veridan?" he shouted. No movement at all. Alton would stride over and then he'd begin to feel that... it is indeed pillows under the blanket.

It's a good thing he didn't bet against Ranger Dross or he might have been paying two dinners.

He'd look around the room and in the bathroom. No sign of the judge's presence and no clue on where to find him. "Well, this is bad. Jace is missing." he'd look to his ranger partner. "Any idea of where he might be?" he said with a hint of panic in his voice, wondering if his more experienced partner had any clue on where to start looking because glancing around the room, nothing gives any location. "Maybe the the closest bothel?" he threw out a wild guess based on the judge's profile.

Kal hated being right, sometimes. "Figures. And while that's a good guess, I think we should split up to look for him. Keep your commlink on. I'm going to head to Trycks and Treats, a local bar that draws in a lot of 'tourists'. I'll let you know if I find anything." Perhaps he should have had Alton come along with him, but internally he was screaming as well at having lost the Judge. He ran down the street without waiting to hear what the other Ranger had to say, focused only on trying to find where Jace had gone. For all he knew, the Black Sun had already gotten to the man. This was going to be a bad day, he just knew it.

He didn't know how right he was, though. He got to the bar just as some patrons were being thrown out, having been fighting. As Kal tried to get a closer look to see if one was the Judge, the man he was looking at pulled a knife and stabbed him in the gut, thinking that he was about to get mugged by a lizardman. At the very least, though, Kal saw that neither were the Judge. He staggered back, holding his stomach as the brawlers moved down the street, ignoring him completely. He could only stare at the stab wound he had just received. One that wasn't light on the blood, either.

"Good idea" he replied back, and nodded at his partner when he spoke. The Trycks and Treats sounds like a good place to go to given the description of the place and the profile of the man in question. "I'll check the transit station and see if the guy tried getting a lift to somewhere else." he said. If he tried getting off world or to a different part of Coruscant this would be the closest place to go. "Good luck" With that they would part ways with his partner. He also made sure his comnlink in his ear was active, which it is. Alton would sigh soon, maybe if he wasn't late this wouldn't have happened. And who knows where he is.

After making his way to the transit station after driving there with the airspeeder he was using, he was using. Parking close to the entrance, he would make his way inside the building and go to the front desk. He'd then speak to the front desk Twi'lek woman, with a slightly hurried tone. "Hello there, has a Jace Veridan checked in?" the front desk lady would then raise an eyebrow. "Sorry sir, we don't divulge the privacy of...". Alton knew where this was going, he'd pull up his Sector Rangers badge and show it to her. "Sector Rangers. It's for his protection. Please tell me where he went." he said sternly. With the badge, the lady went on the terminal in front of her and then inputted the infomation. "He went to the Uscru Entertainment District ." Alton nodded. "Thank you" he muttered as he turned and walked away, then he would comm to his partner.

"Jace went to the Uscru Entertainment district. Lets regroup and we can take the speeder there" he said over the comms.

"Yeah, I'll...I'll be there." Kal had just done what first aid he could do to himself, which meant he wouldn't bleed out but the pain was sure as hell distracting. Making his way to the speeder landing, he grimaced as he met back up with his partner. "Wrong place, wrong time. I'll be fine, finding the Judge is the top priority." By the FORCE it hurt, though. He'd better get hazard pay for this. He was able to drive them to the location that Alton had found out, familiar with it, but as they landed and he stepped out one of the bandages slipped a bit and a small bit of blood fell to the ground. Right in front of the attendants and the nearby traveling crowd. If someone was hurt like this, in THIS area, it usually meant they were criminals looking for a mob doctor or something similar. The local protection was regarding both Rangers carefully now, which would mean it would be harder to search for the Judge under their watchful eyes. "Ah, hells...I hope he's still alive."
