Mecr'cemir, Concord Dawn
(All Mandalorians, feel free to ask me to join!)
Srucayr walked the bay between the row of seats, patting @Reiel Mal Crowholde 's helm as he passed. "Iron Skin Resistance and Orar'da'yadr forces have intensified the fight drastically over the last thirty six hours. We're the reinforcements. The second wave. The first wave has successfully taken the gate, though Malinkar's forces intend on surrounding them. We're to attack from the main gate then fight our way into the city. We also double as more than the main force, we're also the distraction for a secondary team. So let's make it as easy as possible for them. I'll be leading our wave.." he'd pause before @Laren Vano "Any questions?"

The Kom'rk class shuttle would rock as enemy flak explodes all around them. "Ninety seconds!" The pilot would shout back.

Below, they could see the faint outline of Malinkars forces repositioning to attack the first wave. Srucayr would pause as he received a comm from @Vraes Trenessar , the Sith had attacked Taris, a close planet. And he was engaging the enemy. Sru closed his eyes, praying to the gods most of their number returned from the battle. Today would be a test for their kind.

The mission was pretty standard. Laren has done infiltration and the gun-ho style attacks. This was different. It was home. His focus would be on the words of Srucayr as he was mentally readying himself to fight alongside the true Mandalorians. His only wish was that either Cas or his brother Rakiss were to join him in this mission. It was fine though, he had Srucayr and Reiel. They were strong, and could fight well. This would be fun no matter what.

Then Srucayr had asked for any questions and looked to Laren. I guess the younger Mandalorian usually asked questions a lot. Not a surprise, just a newsflash that maybe Laren could not open his mouth all the time. Though now he was being spoken to so of course his mouth would open,

"I understand plenty. For anyone that needs 'Srucayr for Dummies' he said we make things go boom for other guys to infiltrate. We follow Sru to attack and we kill anyone not on our side."

Laren looked to Srucayr as he gave a thumbs up before checking his equipment one last time to be sure nothing would malfunction. The ship was a little rocky, Laren was just ready for the attack to begin. Malinkar's forces had distinct looks about them that Laren would remember and attack accordingly.

Anxiety should be wracking her nerves right now, considering that she had been waiting for this moment for far too long – but it was exactly that very same reason that Reiel felt calm and composed as opposed to what she felt on Sorgan in what felt like a lifetime ago. She had been trained for this, by one of the best fighters in her clan, and she wouldn't let her Buir down. Nor the man she called her ori'vod, the corners of her lips tugging upwards in a smile as she playfully swatted Srucayr's hand off of her helmet.

Anger would've clouded any other person's thoughts, but it cleared Reiel's. Add calm into the picture and she was more than ready to make Malinkar and his forces regret ever having to set his eyes on any Mandalorian territory and its people. The small Mando was well aware that she couldn't do all the killing and avenging on her own, but she would be a hypocrite to deny ever imagining such a scenario. It was all rather lovely, but nothing beat a reality where Malinkar would fall under the might of united Mandalorians.

Reiel looked over at Laren as he felt it prudent to summarize her ori'vod's words. Grinning at the younger Mandalorian, she added, "I'm sure that there's a 'Keep damage to a minimum' right in between – gotta keep the city still standing, after all."

It was both a teasing and a reminder, and while it might be difficult to follow Reiel made sure that she would follow it herself to the best of her abilities. Malinkar's forces had done enough damage as it was; there's absolutely no need to add more to that, right?

Looking over to Srucayr, the small Mandalorian gave the War Priest an encouraging nod. The ship shuddered but Reiel remained steady in her seat, not really questioning the way her heartbeat remained even.

She'd promised a handful of people that she would not die today – that she would come back to them. Buir. The clan. Carrick. And while she knew thag nothing was set in stone she would damn well be stubborn enough to keep her word. Promises were meant to be broken, she already knew that... but this one was meant to be kept. She won't die here, and if someone threatened that promise Reiel would gladly beat them bloody.

Kind of arrogant to challenge even Death, but eh.

"Don't you dare die," she shot at Srucayr who seemed to have paused upon receiving a call she couldn't hear. Then, turning over to Laren, amusement and sternness mingling in her voice, "You as well. If you're gonna respond with an 'Of course' then make sure you keep your word."

She couldn't say the same for the rest, but the thought was there nonetheless.

Srucayr would pat Larens shoulder at his 'translation' of his own orders ,though he'd nod in Reiels direction with her addition. "Perfect. Trademark color for our foes will be blood red. All friendlies have been advised to temporarily avoid such a color." He'd roll his shoulder, despite his age, he was very much eager for the fight. "Let's take back the city." The fighters would accelerate as they lowered, skimming the ground, and Srucayr would walk amongst the bumps, one hand using the overhead rail for stability when it got a little too bumpy.

"Today is as good a day as any to die. Kad keeps no secrets from me, I know my time has already been decided." He offered Reiel another nod as he stepped by, his gait would stop near the ramp, his helmed gaze focused on the younger verd ( @Trainspotting ) who sat there. She was unknown to him, but she answered the call. All who did this day, were kin. The ship would slide to a halt, hovering as the ramp lowered and the War Priest would charge out, blade in hand. "For death and glory! For Our people!"

Ancient silver and blue beskar which had seen service in every major Mandalorian war since the days of the Old Republic, would add a new war to the mix. With their kin focused on the gate, Malinkars men had thought they would get the drop on them. They would be sorely mistaken. Ancient beskad would slice an arm at the the elbow and the shield that accompanied it would shove the lead onto his back. Srucayr would twirl the blade in hand, before driving it down into the fallen man's jugular, ending his writhing.

The second foe would level their rifle at Sru and squeeze the trigger, cursing as he side stepped the first bolt and his shield absorbed the next three. Blade would slide between the man's chest plating with a sickening squish until the hilt. Releasing the hilt of the blade, Srucayr would pull his warpick free from his belt, using his shield to bash the next attacker and stagger him. "Kad wills it!!" He shouted over the din of the fighting, before stepping forward and wading deep into the enemies line. As the third opponent started to recover, that warpick would come downwards with enough force for the beskar tip to puncture the beskar helmet. The Blood Legionnaire seemed surprised as his body seized and his legs buckled.

Kad Ha'rangir was hungry for war, and none could do it better than the Mando'ade.

Blood red color to the enemies' armor sets. That would be an easy target. Laren was eager to fight, the transport was getting close as the sound of blaster shots were getting louder and more frequent. This Mandalorian war was definitely the first type of attack that Laren would take part of, but as far as battle goes, this is definitely not his first rodeo. Malinkar's men will perish for being on the wrong side of the war for Mandalore.

Reiel was wary about the Mandalorians on the ship dying in battle, Laren believed it to be the only real way to die, though today was not going to be that day. Laren laughed at the comment from the likes of Reiel, and then composed himself before continuing to reply with,

"Of.. Course."

A two fingered salute would follow the answer from Laren to Reiel. Then his attention back on the words of Srucayr. The day would be a good day if Laren planned on it, but unfortunately it was not an option.. for Malinkar's men that was. Laren was skilled enough this would be another mission to chalk up on his resume. Though sentimentally, it ment so much more to him than just another mission. It was the beginning of his goal.

The ship began to lower it's ramp as it was landing. Srucayr was the first to run out into battle. Laren ran out and lifted into the air thanks to the jetpack on his back. Once he was flying through the air, he began to fire his blasters at all of the red armored foes attacking the Orar'da'yadr's men. Laren was drooping enemies one by one. This battle proving to be the one he envisioned. Flying back down to the ground to land next to Srucayr, he was ready to take on enemies hand to hand.

The Mandalorian in purple and black clad, would pull out his lightsaber brandishing a purple hue as he would chop down enemies. Sending the saber into their portions of their bodies uncovered by armor.

Dying in battle was indeed the Mandalorian way. Reiel knew that as much but it didn't stop her from wanting to see her vode hale and well after the battle. A little injury here, new battle scars later there, sure, but alive. Her advice might have been frowned upon by some but she would let them.

She had dreamt of those words days before the battle, as if the stars themselves putting the words to her head to be shared to her fellow Mandalorians. There were brothers and sisters who would perish today, yes – but the stars, the voice told her that the words they gave her were meant for individuals who would see Mandalorians united and fighting against a pretender to the throne.

It was an odd dream, kind of prophetic if she could even use the word. The stars and the voice were compelling, however, and so Reiel Mal Crowholde held no reservations in telling her vode not to die today.

Life will be in your favor when the day of the reckoning comes, Child.

"Darasuum kote," Reiel muttered under her breath as she rose from her seat to follow Srucayr out of the ship. Blaster bolts whizzed past the small Mandalorian and she paid them no heed, a serene confidence overtaking her as she pulled her blasters free from their holsters and began firing back at the enemy. Clipping one legionnaire on the flesh unprotected by their armor, Reiel's foot crashed against the enemy's knee with a sickening crunch. With a pained yell the legionnaire dropped on their uninjured knee before their shout was cut off by a blaster bolt to their neck.

Close combat wasn't really her forte so Reiel fell back and scanned the battlefield. Catching sight of the nearest building she decided it was time to fight smart and utilize the fighting skill she excelled the most. Kicking the door open she stormed in along with five of her fellow Orar'da'yadr, making quick work of Malinkar's men within the first floor. She quickly ascended to the top floor and couldn't stop the grin from crossing her face when she spotted a mounted sniper rifle by a window beside a pair of MPL-57 Grenade Launcher.

"Good find, vod," one of her companions told her. "Let's put them to good use, shall we?"

"Ha, we shall!"
she replied, holstering her blasters and making a beeline for the sniper rifle. Adjusting the weapon before taking position, Reiel spotted a lightsaber carving a path down the enemy lines. Recognizing who the wielder was, Reiel patched through Laren's comm and greeted the younger Mando again with a snicker.

"Nice weapon," she would tell him as she felled one legionnaire after another from her position. "Mind sharing where you got that lightsaber?"

At least it wasn't blue or green like Carrick's decoy lightsaber or his real one. She would've only missed her sorcerer.

One of the Orar'da'yadr gave Reiel's pauldron a light pat. "Are you cool with switching buildings? We can't stay here too long or we'll make easy targets for the enemy's firepower."

"Yeah, sure. Of course,"
the small Mandalorian agreed, hefting the rifle on one shoulder and grabbing some spare powerpacks. The group of five stepped out of the room just as blaster fire began pelting Reiel's previous perch.

Srucayr was lost in the thrum of battle, the blood-song of Kad Ha'rangir. He moved as if each attack was prophesied, sidestepping and blocking with a surreal ease. His warpick would find it's home in the chest of another foe, the pick itself getting caught in bone beneath the armor plate. Releasing the weapon, he turned to catch the incoming blade on his bracer, the sound of durasteel hitting the beskar bracer. As he stepped forward, he drove the shield into the chest of his attacker, felling him, before stepping over the mans body and bringing the shield downwards with both hands onto the mans neck. The force from the blow would sever the spinal column, leaving the shield embedded in the ground beneath.

Rising back to his full height, his right hand would tug the warpick free of the fallen Mandalorians chest. As the Akaan Salyr advanced, those before him began to withdraw, and in order to keep them from escaping the War Priest would fire his repulsor and drop them to the floor as the ran. Around seven of them would hit the deck from the blast, far too many for the warrior to kill in the precious few seconds he had. Thankfully, he could hear the ground crunch as Laren landed beside him.

The hammer side rang out in a swing, the blow of the impact against the helm causing the neck to snap from the force. His free hand would pull a thermal free from his belt and he primed it for two seconds before lobbing it at the three legionnaires at the back of the group. He turned, knowing the blast would kill them, and Laren would kill the other three. Left hand would wrench his shield free of the ground as he surveyed the field. "We need to relieve the forces at the main gate!" he'd say into the comms before heading for the location in question.

"Kryze, join our forces on the left flank. Time to earn your keep." The older Mandalorian would say over the comms. It would be a rare sight for his Coalition, they fought beside Wrens, Kryze, and even some Death Watch. The times were not the days of old and maybe these new alliances would hold. But for now, they had a world to reclaim.

--

At the main gate Kormac Dha'rekr, Alor of Clan Dha'rekr, was holding the enemy at bay with only a handful of men. The aged Alor fought with the vigor of a man a fraction his age. And though he wielded a blade, he held the gate with the vibro-hammer of one of his fallen men. Dozens of dead Legionnaires littered the ground around the main gate, and he would fight to his last to ensure other countless dozens joined them. Him and his men had been fighting for several hours now, and the time was starting to stack up with the body count. "Hold the line, lads! We bleed them for every inch!" he would sidestep a wrist rocket, which soared past him and destroyed an incoming Coalition speeder, before he brought the maul down in a two handed grip, gravity and power would all but fold the poor sot in half, snapping his neck and spine at various points.

Val was neither Orar'da'yadr nor Iron Skin Resistance. Most days, she was merely a bounty hunter out of Kalevala. But she was always Mandalorian, and Concord Dawn had not been theirs for far too long. There was just one problem.

"Where the hells is the left flank?!" she shouted back into the comms embedded into her helmet.

The battle was chaos. Moments ago, somewhere off to her left, a speeder was blown to high hell, showering her with gears and scraps of metal. She was pretty damned sure the old man who had side stepped the rocket that smoked it was every bit as proud of the explosion he'd caused as she would have been if she'd done the same. But now she was disoriented, and there was only two things that kept her focused and shooting.

One, the enemy's armor was red. Easy. She shot at every flash of red that passed her with surprising accuracy. Two, they needed to reinforce the main gate, where Kormac, the aforementioned old sod, was bloodying his maul. Considering she could see the bastard flinging about his maul out of the corner of her visor, she assumed she was already in the right place. But what did she know? She had only joined this assault for the credits and the glory, and now she would be lucky to make it out with her hearing still intact.

But it'll make one hell of a drinking story when I get back to Kalevala, she told herself.

She could always use another good drinking story. @Rhogar @Forsythe Crowholde @Scoobert @Trainspotting

In the midst of battle he received a message from Reiel through the comm link asking where the lightsaber was from. He could go into detail over the story later, for now the Mandalorian would give the other Mandalorian a nice short and sweet answer to appease her wonders,

"Well, long story short, I killed guy for it. Now I use it."

Once Laren had finished the execution of a false proclaimer, he listened to the words of Srucayr about relieving the main forces at the gate. That was the new target. Laren could do that easy. He began to run towards the main gate. It was swarmed in red armor. This will be one hell of a fight.

Malinkar's men were fighting well, though not well enough. The warriors of the Orar'da'yadr had been fighting with precision and skill that the false warriors lacked. Laren was glad to be here to exploit it.

Killed a "guy" for it, huh? She was acquaintances with a few Jedi and had made friends with one, but Reiel felt no offense or wouldn't even attempt to call Laren out for it. For what purpose, really? She knew enough of Mando history to have at least the common sense to feel no hint of offense or any other negative emotions from that one bit of information.

So instead of a rebuke bright laughter was what Laren would hear from Reiel's end of the comms, coupled by loud explosions as she and her fellow Orar'da'yadr engaged the enemy. Death screams mingled with the laughter, blaster fire, and explosions, none of the first coming from her side of the team.

"That'll be quite a tale to hear. Lookin' forward to that," she commented before shifting her focus back on the battlefield. A blaster bolt grazed the top of her helmet, prompting a laugh from her companions as one member of the Orar'da'yadr clad in green armor retaliated by blasting through the group of legionnaire with a rocket launcher.

"Got the advantage of being tiny, don't ya, ad'ika?" said the Mando with a raspy chuckle while he ushered the team forward.

The small Mandalorian really didn't appreciate being made fun of because of her height. Losing her cool over something so petty (to them, anyway) would not do her good, so she decided to redirect her annoyance to the enemy before them. Engaging one legionnaire in close quarters, Reiel showed how advantageous her height really was by expertly dodging the beskad aimed for her head. The enemy had to lower their aim but before they could get their bearings the small Mando had already sliced through their unprotected shins with her vibroknives. Falling to their knees with a sharp cry of pain that soon tapered into a gurgle as one vibroknife slashed through the space between their helmet and chestplate, Reiel shoved down the dying legionnaire before shooting the older Mando a sharp smile he couldn't see.

"Of course!" she replied cheerfully as she sheathed her blades in favor of arming herself once more with her blasters. "Better watch out for your shins next time, Kaled!"

Laughing uproariously, Kaled proceeded to lead the group while relaying Srucayr's order to them. Armed with the weapons they have taken, the small company had forgone their initial plan in favor of relieving the forces at the main gate. What made Reiel's day significantly better was the sight of a familiar blue armor that landed beside her, its owner deactivating his jetpack before further heralding his arrival with a sharp cry of warning against the advancing legionnaire.

"Ba'vodu Dell, nice of you to join us," Reiel greeted her fellow Crowholde as they blasted their way side by side through the enemies' defenses.

Dell snickered, amused. "Couldn't let you hog the body count now, could I?"

On this side of the battlefield, Malinkar's men were overwhelmed both with blaster fire and explosives, coupled with uproarious laughter from a small company of Mandalorians led by Kaled, Reiel, and Dell. Slowly but surely the group advanced towards the main gate, leaving a pile of red armored corpses in their wake. Their arrival to said location was heralded by explosions from a pair of stolen grenade launchers, tearing through the lines of the legionnaire's defenses.

With the right flank having been overrun by the forces of the Orar'da'yadr, the only one struggling was the left flank, with the arrival of the second wave, even the center at the gate was beginning to stabilize. Surveying the current state, Srucayr would activate his comm. "Crowholde, join the left flank! Laren, we'll breach the gate!"

Kormac would catch a blade on his vambrace, then with his old man strength, shove the man backwards until he fell over a corpse. As the legionnaire started to sit up, Kormac brought the maul down, killing him in one blow. He would grunt as a bolt pierced his side, bringing the old warrior to a knee. Another legionnaire would surge forward, a spear in hand and try to drive it through the old warriors chest. The strike would never come.

The spear tip would stop several inches away from it's mark as Srucayr grabbed the weapon by the haft and kicked it's owner in the chest as he ripped it from his hands. Spinning the weapon around, the War Priest would drive the weapon through the assailants throat. Turning to the older Alor, Srucayr would offer a hand. "Up and at them, old man." he'd say with an audible smirk.

Kormac would laugh a bit as he gripped the War Priests forearm, the latter hauling him to his feet. "Easy there, boy. I still got a few rounds left in me." The pair would clank their helms together in a sign of respect. "Get em moving, now. I'll keep up the morale, boy."

Srucayr would nod as he wheeled on his heels. "Push forward!" He would shout to those around him as the forces of the Orar'da'yadr stormed the gate. The fighting as the Coalition forces entered the city would grow fierce as the members of the Blood Legion would try their hardest to rally and hold them back.

With Srucayr at the head of the wedge, he would pull his war pick free and as the first line of Legionnaires charged, he would fire his repulsor, sending them to the ground. As he walked past, the pick side would find itself embedded in the throat of the closest enemy combatant and the resulting spray of blood would shower the others as he pulled the weapon free. "Laren! Clear the walls!"

Kormac, now back on his feet, would be using one of his men as support as he advanced in the middle of the wedge, the remainder of his men having fallen back to regroup with the arrival of reinforcements. "Forward! Send these cur to the gods!"

While the Orar'da'yadr couldn't quite use artillery on the city itself, they had been using it to suppress the enemy on the walls, but with their own forces at the gate, they were forced to seize fire. Laren and the other Mandalorians that accompanied him would find the walls starting to be swarmed by Legionnaires as they tried to get some form of high ground on the Coalition forces.

--------------------

Along the left flank, the Legionnaire forces had already begun to erect machine gun nests along the walls and were opening fire on the dwindling Coalition forces there. Several nests would focus on @Valeska Kryze 's position raining fire down on her from above, some of their fire killing their own forces. The downed speeder would be some of the closest cover for the warrior.

Laren received orders on the gate. He knew what he had to do. Running in that direction he noticed the overwhelming amount of warriors at the main gate. There was no easy way to rid them of the area, but Laren was going to try. Igniting the jetpack, he would fly through the air begin blasting his blaster at followers of Malinkar.

Everything around him was chaos. Men and women dying all over the place. The killing didn't bother him, only the deaths of people who were brainwashed. It felt slightly wrong though it wouldn't be enough to stop him from fighting the good fight. Instead when he was given the orders to clear the gate, he would.

"Coming up boss man!"

Laren flew through like a drive by on his jetpack and would drop grenades below him in front of the gate. Knowing the gate would be fine, the men fighting for Malinkar would suffer from fragmentation being launched into their bodies. Pieces of bodies were also lying around as it was enough force to rip some of them apart. A horrific sight, but necessary.

"Alright, should be able to push through I'm on my way to your location"

The sight of the battlefield truly wasn't for the faint of heart. Reiel, however, had no time to muse on the more philosophical and moral sides and implications of war as she listened to her ori'vod's command, nodding in affirmative even if he obviously couldn't see it. The small Mandalorian made a gesture at Dell, thumb jutting to the direction Srucayr wanted them at.

There were orderd to keep damage at minimum but it with the Legionnaires erecting machine gun nests and open firing with wild abandon at the Coalition, keeping that command in mind was put in a back burner in favor of eradicating the mountibg threats that grew with each passing moment.

"Gladly, ori'vod," replied Reiel as Dell led the charge towards the left flank. The group wasted no time in picking up munitions and explosives from the fallen of both warring sides. With the firepower focused on Valeska's direction, the small Crowholde took the opportunity to wrench free a jetpack from a fallen Coalition warrior. Making use of the device after checking that it was still charged with fuel, Reiel and a green-armored warrior from the Orar'da'yadr shared an conspiratorial nod before the latter fired towards the nearest nest.

The resounding explosion, dying and pained screams of the Legionnaires, and crumbling walls were enough to guarantee a distraction to the enemy's forces. Taking their distraction as an opportunity, Reiel and her group were free to blast the other machine gun nests to smithereens with their stolen grenade and rocket launchers. Violent explosions rocked the walls, leaving the Legionnaires stationed there staggering. Their arrival rallied what was left of the Coalition forces, and soon enough they were joined by reinforcements.

"Those bastards knew no shame in killing their own men just to send us to the afterlife!" Dell shouted, enraged. "How about we show them what we Crowholdes think about such disgusting display of cowardice, little one?"

Armed with the rocket launcher she had pilfered earlier, Reiel shot her ba'vodu a feral grin. Handing the sniper rifle over to one of her comrades, the small Mandalorian aimed at one of the nests that survived their initial assault and fired.

Now beginning to struggle to maintain their positions on the wall, the Legionnaires on the ground retreated from the mixed assault of their own forces and the Coalition's newest arrivals.

The sound of the crashing walls would make the anger rise in Srucayrs chest, and so he would send a personal comm to Reiel, so as to not dress her down before the whole of the Coalition. "Reiel. You disobeyed a direct order and are setting back our efforts with reckless abandon. We were trying to avoid destruction to show the people here we are the goodguys. You destroying their walls works against us. We will have words when this is over. Perhaps you are not ready for war if you cannot listen nor control your emotions." He would cut off his comm to her, before shoving an enemy back.

His current anger at Reiel would be directed into the enemies he fought, his war pick cleaving through armor and flesh alike. He could feel the will of the enemy breaking with every push forward.

"Srucayr, it's Skjorn, we got the docks. Taking the shipyards now." would come the familiar voice over the comms.

"Good news. How is Minerva holding up? And Ramail?"

"Good boss. We'll see you shortly. Skjorn, out."

As the comm ended, the relief from the lack of machine gun nests was evident as more of the Coalition stormed through the gates and helped push the mass of Orar'da'yadr forward. Srucayr would shove through as far as he could, his visor fixed on the apparent leader of the Blood Legion forces, a man happily leading from the rear of his army. "Reiel, clear the city of snipers. Do -not- destroy any more property. Laren, clear the barracks, no explosives."

It was time to take on the barracks. How fun. The soldiers in there will be in bulk, so Laren would have to be prepared for a big fight. With a nod to Srucayr and jab of his saber into the gut of another enemy, he would fly into the sky with his jet pack and begin soaring towards the barracks. Mnay questions rambled through his head as he flew. Such as: How many troops are in there? Do I have enough troops to fight alongside me? Will I even need the troops? What do I wanna eat after all this?

The Mandalorian would find himself landing right before the entrance to the barracks as he would announce it through his commlink to the rest of the crew.

"Made it to the Barracks, I'll keep you posted."

The younger of two Vano's would then begin his assault by breaching the door with a spartan kick and the blasting of his blaster. When he made entry enough he would duck behind cover and watch his troops follow suit. The barracks had a good size to them. Taking this place would do well for Clan Vano if they decide to join the Iron Skin Resistance.

Contrary to Srucayr's words – spoken out of anger, something she could definitely understand – Reiel knew how to listen to commands and keep her emotions under control. About her readiness for war, on the other hand...

Call her less of a Mandalorian than those who openly disrespected their Creed, but she despised war. Even if it was the way of life of the culture she had been adopted into, Reiel – just Reiel, not the Mando she was supposed to be –hated it. More so the pointless ones. And while the current battle she found herself in had a good cause for her people, she just couldn't find it in herself to fully revel in it. The reason why she didn't like this particular war was because her brethren had been deceived to fight for a madman who thought himself to be Mand'alor, a pretender to the throne. She longed to see Mandalorians united under a single banner, a single cause, not fighting one another because of a fake who was cowardly enough to not show even just a sliver of his shadow in the battlefield.

As for Srucayr's anger, well...

Certain decisions had to be made, sacrifices needed to be done, if they wanted to advance and turn the tide to their favor. She understood why they had to minimize damage while fighting this battle but Reiel couldn't exactly let the members of this Coalition die needlessly and helplessly under a hail of enemy fire that could never be stopped if she didn't do something about it. Walls could be rebuilt, but the lives lost because she wasn't ready to disobey a direct command?

There had to be another way other than blasting the nests of turrets to kingdom come, but Reiel didn't exactly have the luxury to ask for more time to create an elaborate plan. She was more than ready to own up to the perceived mistake, nonetheless.

The comment about controlling her emotions still irked her, though. She wasn't even angry or feeling particularly murderous, Manda's sake. What was there to control when she was operating under logic – no matter how twisted he might make of it?

Reiel didn't bother replying to Srucayr's next order, aware that she might say something distasteful out of annoyance towards the insinuation that she could not control her emotions. Yep, that irritated her more than being called unprepared for war and unable to follow commands. Swapping the rocket launcher for the sniper rifle she'd appropriated earlier, Reiel broke off in search a decent area she could turn into her own private sniper nest.

The advance of the Coalition bode the Blood Legion stationed on the walls' retreat. Clear of enemy presence, the small Mandalorian began her ascent. She stopped by a portion of the wall that she had blown off earlier, frowning at the sight of bodies adorned with red armor and the blood splattered on the walls. Reiel moved forward, eyes scanning the city before her. Setting up the sniper rifle once she found a passable spot, the small Mandalorian took a deep breath before assuming position.

It was easy to pick off enemy snipers who were more exposed than the others. Reiel's only problem was for their opponents to pinpoint where her shots were coming from, something she had a relatively simple remedy to. Once a sniper bolt struck the spot just a few inches off her head, the small Mandalorian "packed up" and moved in search for a new nest. The cycle would repeat until the city was cleared of enemy snipers – and of course Reiel took the opportunity to replenish her ammunition with every move.

Between the start of Kormac's attack and their own, the city had been the site of this battle for hours. But prior to that, the Coalition and Malinkar's forces had dyed the plains red in blood. Every inch of this sector of Concord Dawn had been earned in blood and mettle. Sections of the outer wall had been destroyed and with the blasts, homes had been leveled, innocents slain. They were fighting for the soul of the city. Citizens who didn't ask to be apart of the battle, unlike those of the Coalition who had volunteered to fight and die for their people. Oaths were sworn, die were cast.

Unlike Reiel, Srcuayr had been partaking in battles since he was much younger than she, probably younger even then when she joined their people. He knew why she did what she did, and though she might try to argue the logic of it later, there would be none that supported it. She may have saved four lives in her explosions, she could have saved seventy. But if the whole city rose up due to the damage, there would be no happy ending. No victory, only defeat for their people. He would need to sit her down and discuss such things in the future.

But for now, he needed to keep pushing them back. Kom'rk and his Iron Skin Resistance had managed to keep Malinkar's troops form reinforcing the city. Shield raised, Srucayr would continue to force the enemy back until he penetrated deep into their lines. The hole he made was quickly filled by other Coalition members until the Legionnaire ranks were being overrun. The leader of the Blood Legion would take his rear guard and begin to retreat deeper into the city, giving Srucayr cause to pursue them.

Thankfully, the War Priest didn't have to go far. The A'den Kal would advance from the docks to cut off the leader and his retreat forcing him and his warriors to fight.

---

Back by Kormac, the overrun Blood Legionnaires would begin to surrender, throwing down their arms and raising their hands in defeat. Though it wouldn't be a city wide surrender, a good portion of the remaining force had stopped fighting.

Coming out of cover, Laren was ready to take out the group of false Mandalorians. False alors had led them astray and now they must deal with the consequences. The younger of the two Vano's had begun firing on the troops following Malinkar. To the naked eye it was a warzone of chaos, but to Laren it was nothing short of being disgraceful. He was prepared to handle thing peacefully to avoid this much blood shed. To avoid war. It was far too late for peace however. Now he must eliminate the enemy until they surrender.

Sending his blaster bolts into the enemy, Laren was able to aim true enough to hit the throat, and ribcages of the enemy, sending them to the ground dead. He could their cries of pain but he knew it was necessary to bring Mandalore back to a good state. Besides, if he took out these enemies, he would be a hero. Just as a true Alor would be. The goal is to become Mand'alor but ultimately, bringing back the ways of Mandalore is enough for him.

After the false Mandalorian army had seen that their numbers began to dwindle, they slowly let down their weapons and placed their arms over their heads in a sign of surrender. Laren made it halfway through the room and was slightly disappointed that they didn't put up too much of a fight.

"Alright brothers, arrest these men and women and get them to cells. I am going to meet Srucayr about the next step."

"Aye sir!"

"Sru, where are you at? The barracks are clear. Seems they don't have that much fight in them after all."

Laren walked out of the barracks and flew into the air with his jetpack. He began surveying the field to see where his allies were for the sake of regrouping.

The thing about out-sniping enemy snipers was that it helped clear Reiel's mind, and she'd come to the realization that her ori'vod's anger towards her was justified. Hells, it was more justified given the orders she knew she had to follow. The small Mandalorian felt bad about feeling angry, about wanting to argue to prove her point. Her thoughts went to her Buir, and she was sure that while he might be able to see where she was coming from – damn, she was an open book to him – she knew he would ultimately take Srucayr's side on the matter.

In her pursuit to live in the present she had overlooked the future.

Making her way past the dead bodies of both the Coalition and the Blood Legionnaires, Reiel couldn't stop the pang of pain from cutting through her. One of her dreams was to see Mandalorians united, and the mere fact that there were Mandos who were either forced by Malinkar into submission or having been fooled by the pretender made righteous anger burn fiercer in her soul.

A sniper bolt whizzed past the left side of her helmet, snapping Reiel back to the present. She looked up, rangefinder picking up the sight of a Legionnaire on the second floor of a nearby building.

"Last one," muttered the small Mandalorian, eyes narrowing behind her T-visor. She made a run towards the building, dodging another sniper bolt on the process. Passing by the building's threshold had been a blur, more so climbing up the stairs and searching for the room where the shot came from. Before Reiel knew it the enemy sniper had already abandoned his post in favor of tackling the smaller Mando to the floor, trying to crush her neck with one arm while he fumbled for the vibroknife strapped to his belt. Reiel, choking for air as she was, hastily beat the Legionnaire to it and grabbed the vibroknife before he could. Blindly she shoved the weapon into his uncovered side repeatedly until the vibroknife slid from her blood-slicked hand.

Black spots danced on the edges of her vision as the Legionnaire retaliated by pressing his arm further down her throat. To his credit the Legionnaire kept Reiel pinned under him until he stopped moving, the arm pressing against her neck becoming slack moments later. She gasped for air while the other Mando lay atop her, a deadweight pinning her down on the floor.

Still panting for air, Reiel would send a ping on Srucayr's comm and would report in between ragged breaths, "G-Got the snipers, ori'vod. All of 'em."

Srucayr and those with him would charge from the rear and the A'den Kal from the front. As both groups collided with the small retreating force, the Legionnaire leader would try to get to the middle of his men, staving off the worst of the charge. The War Priest would wade into the enemy, his warpick swinging as it punched through helm and cuirass, battering warriors to nothing but a weak pulp.

His visor would remain fixed on the leader as he advanced, his shield knocking some to the side so his own warriors could deal with them as he focused on the true target. Closing the distance, the warpick was flipped to the hammer side, they needed this one alive. The Leader would draw his own beskad and aim a slash for Srucayr's torso, his shield moving to block the strike, before he threw his own weight behind the shield and shoved the opponent backwards. The War Priest would then follow up with a swing for the Legionnaires side, which was blocked with the mans blade and followed up with a kick to the shield for clearance.

"You vermin are nothing to Malinkar! The fall here is nothing!" He would shout at Srucayr as he surged forward, putting all of his weight into a kick to force the shield away from Srucayr's body and thrusted his blade forward. The veteran would step into the strike and twist his torso, allowing the weapon to gorge a line into his cuirass as he drove his elbow into the man's helm. The force of the blow would snap the head backwards and force a backpedal, which Srucayr took advantage of and swung his hammer downwards, shattering the Legionnaires knee from the force of the impact.

As the knee buckled and the Commander dropped, he would slash at Srucayr's thigh, scoring a hit along the gap in his armor. Pain was a virtue for his kind. For his Covert. For his Order. Driving his shield downwards, Srucayr would force the blade from the Commanders hand before the hammer collided with the top of his helm. Though he would live to regret it, the blow wouldn't kill him, only knock the man out and open his life to an eternity of neck pain. As the Commander crumpled, the rest of his men would throw down their arms.

"Take them into custody." Srucayr would order. "Have him brought to the command tent for questioning." He would step away as his men carried out his orders and activate his comm. "All stations, congratulations. We own the city. Set up triage in the barracks and get your injuries looked out. Kom'rk and his Iron Skin have already began the second phase. Those who can still fight will be joining them in the morning. Srucayr out."
