Every now and then, that burning desire to jump in a spaceship, roll on to the Unknown Regions and place myself at the mercy of the dice gods, hits me. Today is one of those days.
This is not going to be a plot, player characters probably won’t get any material gains from this, but, it should be jolly fun anyway. What I am looking to do is get a group of 3-4 people minimum, dedicated to a series of threads, in which we board a ship, and simply fly into the unknown regions. Our in character mission will be to ‘explore the unknown regions for the League of Xeno-Explorers’.
Every thread will be dice based, beginning with a ‘hazards test’, to see just what it is we come across. Asteroid field? Giant space monster? Who knows.
Fair warning, as we get further into the threads, so on thread two and beyond, the threads will be death enabled. I will also be upping the difficulty level as we go along. So, a few notes before people sign up:
- Death will be enabled from thread two and beyond.
- You will obtain injuries in these threads that may leave lasting damage depending on how we treat them.
- Once you join the expedition, you cannot leave. We have one ship, and one ship only.
- But don’t worry, you’ll be in a group chat with the other members, so if you cannot make a thread, we can cover for you till then next one.
- I recommend you either make a character especially for this, or use one you are not overly attached to.
- I will be accepting sign-ups from non-FS and independents first, due to me being pretty sure the Jedi and Sith don’t allow sabbaticals for interstellar exploration trips.
In case you had not guessed this will be dangerous and you may lose a character in the process, but it should be fun. View it not as a plot for a faction or character, but as a DnD game, but with more space monsters.
For those of you who want to sign up, please do so below! If we get more than 3-4 people, I’ll get a bigger ship and do it anyway because space fun.
Just to reiterate. You may die.
Sign-ups will close Friday 13th March 2020, because I believe in good omens for starting dates for missions depending mostly on luck.
