Jedi Temple - Tython
Halls of Archives
Present Day
Theme
Bardottan Jedi Master Bruce Guleya stood in the center of what constituted as the archives within the newly restored Jedi Temple on Tython. Bruce looked over the collection of entries before he started to make his way around the chamber, his left three fingers ran across the bookshelves, feeling as many of the entries as possible. The archives were incomplete, but at least they stood for many of the current generation of Jedis as well as future generations to enjoy.

The Jedi Master smiled at the knights within the halls, soaking in what information they could. Bruce had found himself within these halls more often these days, it reminded him of a simpler time, a time of less woes; but those days were gone and Bruce had to accept it, at least for now.

While the archives were without a doubt incomplete and not as vast as they could be, they were still leaps and bounds from nothing at all. Thanks to Jedis like himself, Jedis who valued the importance of knowledge and preserving the teaching of the Orders, even in the worst of times. Some of the collections here were vital, others were just a reminder, and some were just for reading - who says the Jedi can't enjoy a good non-fiction story, anyways? The bardottan smiled as he stopped at one section of the wall, it housed a few children's stories, something the younglings would find exciting. Children were the future of the Order, that was without a doubt, so what better way to keep them interested then providing them some silly stories that still held lessons?

This archives could have been worse for wear had the Order not thought to act fast. Some of the books still contained the charring of a narrow escape, a painful reminder of the truth that had fallen upon Ossus and the dark cloud it wrought. Bruce removed a single book that had barely made the escape, he looked it over gently turning the pages without reading it - it was book he had read many times before. As he looked it over, tears welled up in his eyes as he relived that fateful day.

The Great Library - Ossus
A memory of long ago
Theme
Bruce looked around the room, the structure beginning to crumble down exposing it to the elements of Ossus, a few cracks is all it was but none the less it was the grime reality he had to face. The bardottan scanned the room his lightsaber clutched in his right hand, his body trembling from the disaster of the situation, he had escaped the meat of it all - at least for a time he had rallied here with fellow Jedis; not to escape the battle partaking outside but instead to take on a mission of preservation - a mission that the Jedi Order NEEDED to complete if they ever thought to stood a chance, to maintain the strong hope that burns deep within each and every member of the Order on this day. They had lost the Jedi temple long before this day and now it was time for the job to be completed.

An explosion soon ripped the unnatural silence within the Archives he had held up in. His attention immediately dropped form the ceiling and the walls that had had stolen his gaze, and now fell to the doorway ahead - it had been barricaded the best they could at a moments notice, but the explosion indicated that this would be no safe harbor for much longer. The Sith were coming and they were coming to erase their existence; to remove the 'propaganda' of the Jedi Order - or whatever they wanted to call it. They had lost their ways by now - they were once an opportunity to salvage but with time and unity, they were no longer considered Exiles and their status as Brothers and Sisters who'd lost their way was neigh. The Sith were now their own entity and the Jedi Master suspected they liked it that way.

Bruce looked around the room at his fellow Jedis, they had looked to him a moment for direction it seemed - or maybe he had just done something subconsciously that caused them to give him this attention; it was hard to tell since the scene was becoming uneasy and the impending chaos was starting to rise.

The Bardottan Master still had the aura of a Jedi, he had kept his emotions and his panic in check for now, but he wasn't afraid to admit - he was starting to become afraid. Afraid of losing their Jedi Order, their culture, their beliefs, their knowledge. His heart was starting to beat faster, and he pushed to keep a cool, clear mind as he formulated a plot.

"Brothers! Sisters! We need to act fast, the Sith are almost upon us and we mustn't allow them total victory. The Sith have managed to push far into our library and we cannot stop their advance, we can't even think to try. They have bested us for the day, but we will not give them the satisfaction of wiping us clean." Bruce needed to be direct for the moment, "We can ensure that by saving what we can. Spread out, and start gathering what you can! We must preserve these entries, everything in here is important." Bruce had motioned to several steel crates that had been brought here since the battle had begun - this was the Bardottan's plan above all else. The Sith had managed to get them off-guard and the Master was quick to accept that so this was his alternative.

The goal here, it wasn't to fight and save the day - no! It was to preserve as much of the knowledge they could right here and right now. They'd load up what they can and transfer them to a shuttle or two on stand by - provided the Sith hadn't caught onto their hiding place. The information contained within was plentiful - ranging from legends, history, philosophy, techniques, children's tales, and lists of critical information vital to the continuation of the Jedi Order.

Bruce hoped they could salvage it all, but it'd be up to this companions to filter if need be.

This is a Plot marked as OPEN to JEDI CHARACTERS Only, please. While it is considered OPEN I would also like to impose a limit on the amount of Jedis participating as it'll make the thread flow smoother and be less of a hassle on our DM; quick breakdown is we will be facing off against PvE enemies (Sith Troops) who's only goal is to hamper our efforts and secure or destroy the information contained within.

Participants will be:
@Bruce Guleya
@Fennex Zeerda
@Azar Torsin is welcome to join.

PLUS
2 - 3 Jedi Vacancies

Please respect each other and our DM (@Cazar); let's have some fun. In the interest of time let's enforce a 24-48 hour post rule.

FINAL NOTE: After about 24 hours have past from this post, I will post which will LOCK IN the participants and our DM will start with the opposition.

Azar had been around the Jedi and this war long enough to know how things worked. The Jedi had suffered a terrible loss at Ilum, but so had the Exiles. They had been shattered, divided, and leaderless. The Jedi had struggled similarly, but they had grown comfortable in their victories and in their apathy, the Sith had risen. A terror that was now leveling the Jedi: one temple at a time.

The adrenaline was still pumping harshly through Azar's system as he ran into the temple from the battlefield. It didn't take a genius to figure out that the day was lost and they needed to retreat to fight another day. They wouldn't win this one and he'd already seen too many of his brethren cut down.

The battle had been fierce and Imperial soldiers had supported Sith across the field. The smell of burned ozone still filled his nostrils from the blaster bolts and sweat poured from his face. There was no one else behind him coming into the temple whose saber wasn't red and the Jedi Knight locked the door behind him. It wouldn't slow them down for long with lightsabers in hand, but it would be one more piece of resistance... no matter how arbitrary.

He charged down the hallways, making quickly for the library where he sensed the presence of other Jedi. It was a beacon of light against the darkness that seemed to press in on them from every side and the Jedi slammed that door behind him as well.

Master Guleya, they're coming. We don't have long, he said after the Jedi Master finished addressing the others. His own saber flashed out in an instant as he began to replace it onto his belt. Should I begin preparing defenses? Buy time for evacuating the archives? he asked the Jedi Master, not absentmindedly waiting for an answer as he began to load books into the carts.

Many of these books brought back memories of his early days of training. He had spent hours in the library after his grumpy Master barked at him for not knowing his materials well enough. It felt like an eternity ago now and he barely remembered it, but it almost made him sad that the items left behind would be destroyed. So much of his time and life would burn at the Sith's hands. It was more of the same, it seemed. But he would save what he could.

Dune Tarn was here and ready to serve. As was his faithful varactyl companion, Gab Gab. Fortunately, the great beast would be able to be loaded up with many books, artworks, and artifacts - more so than Dune could carry on his own. He gave his faithful mount a pat on the nose before he listened intently to Bruce's words.

This was not Dune's place of choice. While he was an avid reader, the shy Devaronian Jedi preferred visiting libraries on their less busy hours to avoid so many people. He was only here because he heard that the library was in danger and he knew that the building had too much valuable information about his beloved plants, animals, and Force powers to be lost. So, he was here to preserve that and help as best he could. He quickly set about finding all the texts that he could by the great Jedi botanist, Herro Het. That work was a divine read and wasn't even fully transcribed yet. Once that had all been collected and loaded onto Gab Gab, Dune set about finding just about anything related to nature that he could - field guides, outdoor manuals, biology books, copies of The Flora and Fauna of Jedha - it didn't matter. All that could be saved, Dune hustled and bustled to make sure he could save it.

"Should have had more coffee this morning..." Dune grumbled to nobody in particular as he sweated and strained with the effort of finding and loading all of those works into the metal crates on Gab Gab.

Jubba shifted uneasily, he hadn't been confident enough in his fighting ability to defend the temple and now it was all ruined. Master Guleya sought to save what they could from the temple's archives and that at least was something Jubba was capable of doing. Taking his large robe off, he was able to create a temporary sling to fill with as many works as he could before dragging the pile over to the boxes and filling them carefully. The thought of leaving so many behind that himself had thus far been unable to read left him saddened but there was at least the hope that he could fill in the gaps by sourcing the missing pages as it were from the great library of Jedha.

He would cart anything within reach to the boxes, unless otherwise instructed.

Participants locked in. Opposition will begin. Loco is still likely to post with Fennex, which is quite alright.

Azar's words cut deep into Bruce like a razor's edge. Their time was just about up; and the suggestion of building up the defenses would have been a welcoming addition and a factor that could turn the tide of the battle, but it was too late. He wouldn't have time to set up a hefty defense, in hindsight though - Bruce did acknowledge he had some oversight on his part, but he knew not to dwell on that factor; as he listened though, he found a book in his hands, a scripture that highlighted some of the Jedi Trials and locations of not widely known Force locations. He slipped the book into the folds of his Jedi Robes before he moved on.

Bruce wasn't familiar with anyone in the group at the time; he was somewhat familiar of a few of the Jedi Order Archivists that had joined them, and he knew the name Jubba, which wasn't hard considered the Jedi Order didn't have a slew of Hutts slugging about. Lastly he was surprised a varactyl had joined them as well; having the few members here gave Bruce a slightly more optimistic view of what could happened in the future, but he was still cautious. Bruce was preparing to address the requests from the gathering Jedis, but before he could speak up chills ran through his body.

If Bruce had hairs on his body they'd be standing up right about now as the Force whispered into his ears giving a warning; his attention was ripped from the rest of the immediate surroundings as the warnings indicated that the approaching opposition were now closing the gap fast. They were right on their doorstep now, quite literally actually.

The Bardottan quickly took up a position at the front of the room nearing the entry way. He turned around and faced the other Jedis, he spoke loudly and clearly. "Brothers and Sisters! They are gathering on us and will be in this room much sooner than we'd like to admit. We make our stand, right here. We will show them that we will not be belly up and that the Jedi Order is NOT extinct and will NOT be a push over despite what they think. Our knowledge and our entire livelihood needs to be preserved but we're out of time. Salvage what you can - but double your efforts and retrieve what is essentially - though it pains me to say.

"Brothers, Sisters, we fight as one. The Jedi Teachings will not be lost this day! If they come, let them come and we will face them with the Force at our backs and deep within our hearts! Let. Them. Come!"
Bruce ignited his golden lightsaber blade as he turned around to face the door, bringing his lightsaber to his right side facing the ground as he extended his left hand to prepare to use the Force if needed. As the Bardottan finished his efforts of trying to inspire his fellow Jedis, he commanded the Force to grant his allies a slight boost in their spirits.

Fennex grunted as he shifted the little pack full of books and datacards slung over his shoulders. The Master knew this was already a losing battle, but the least they could do was manage a fighting retreat. The Amaran held both blades in his paws as he came running out from between stacks of the library and into the group of other Jedi. At least he wouldn't be fighting this one alone, he thought to himself. The Sith were going to capture this world for their own use and pillage what they wanted from its knowledge, but that didn't mean it had to be easy.

Fen sparked his sabers to life as Bruce finished his words of inspiration, ready to fight their way to the shuttles. He just hoped there were still shuttles left when they got there. With a quick hit of the Force, he keyed the warning sign he'd arranged with KR3CH before he'd set off down here. He could only hope that, for once, the droid got his ish together and came through.

The invasion of Ossus had begun at the order of the Sith Empire's high command. Troops from varying divisions were deployed to help destroy the Jedi presence. Platoon Aeron, as it had been called, was one of the first to hit the temple alongside their Sith Master Commander. The library was an important target for these troops. It seemed the Jedi Order loved its books and old lore. Sith Command demanded these be destroyed as a true blow to their enemy. Killing Jedi and destroying temples wasn't enough. Knowledge damaged the very idea of the Jedi's existence. Knowledge was much harder to replace than temples.

"Master Aeron has ordered us to clear this library and destroy the books inside." Came the muffled voice of the Shock Troop Squad leader to his squad. "For the Empire! For the Empress!"

A squad of Shock Troops would be the first attack wave to attempt to enter the Library. Each troop wore Imperial Shock Corp Armor and wielded an IPR-5 Pulse Rifle. They also had a 4-C pistol clipped to their right hip and a vibrosword clipped at the left. These troops were the front line shock and awe of the Sith Empire. They would take this library by force. All twelve members of the Squad climbed the stairs up to the building spread out to avoid area attacks. The first two to reach the door, including the leader, threw in flashbangs to possibly blind and deafen enemies inside before their entrance. A split second after they charged into the room and fired three shots each from their rifles towards Master Guleya, aimed around the torso. The Jedi Master had become an easy spot with his golden lightsaber already ignited. Six total shots would be coming quick and they would be deadly if not properly managed.

The next four troops to enter the room did so with an impressive practiced speed. They engaged the four other Jedi, each one taking on an enemy doing the same tactic. Two shots would fire from each rifle as they engaged the Jedi, hoping to hit their torsos and kill them quickly. A seventh man entered the room after everyone else and began working to destroy information. It would take around two rounds of combat for him to start fire to the main bookshelves along the walls if not stopped. More men were outside, moving in quickly within the next round to join the fray. Twelve in total would be coming, but they likely would not be the only squad to try to stop the Jedi from saving the library books.

The emissary had been away for a majority of the battle taking place at Ossus, though word traveled quickly through the realms that her place of solace had been desecrated by the Sith. Realizing the grave danger their precious education would be in, she had initiated a haste journey back towards Tython. Arriving at the temple grounds through secured passageways, she navigated herself up into the main hall. Ears of the Chiss caught wind of the upcoming troubles, squadrons of shock corps were not the most silent of foes and their heavily armored presence would have been an offending sight to the tranquility of the order's sacred temple. As blaster shots rang forth from the epicenter of the hall, her quickened pace soon commenced into a full sprint. Delicate fingers clasped one of the doors open as she burst inside, sliding to the ground as eyes quickly surveyed the scene in front of her.

Eyes would match those of unengaged troopers, right hand pulling out the purple bladed saber as it ignited and came to rest in a 45 degree angle in front of her body. Senses on full alert, her free left hand cackled with force energy; "Fiendish Foes! You dare attack our solace?!" She roared out in anger, defensively prepared and ready to assist her fellow Jedi as she could.

And here it came: the attack he was expecting. Imperial troops burst into the room with weapons raised, and began to open fire. The Jedi Knight made quick movement just as he finished setting a book down. He could sense the malice growing closer.

Then they burst in with their weapons at the ready. He darted aside and his saber activated rapidly. The nictitating membranes native to his species spared him from the worst of the flash grenade. Bolts streaked through the air and the Jedi Knight fell back onto his primary saber form: Soresu. It was defensive and incredibly adept at blaster deflection. His saber moved in a tight pattern from his own left to right in front of him. Even as he swung his wrists, he began to pull his arms the other direction. As soon as his saber caught the blaster shot and smashed it into the ground, he swung outward.

His saber made impact at that perfect angle to send the heavy shot back into its firer. It was only possible with the Force, but such was the strength of a defensive form: to provide protection.

Dune didn't see or sense the flashbang but fortunately, he didn't need to. His pet varactyl's senses were better than his own and so it naturally heard a small, ball-shaped object roll into the room. Assuming it was another game of fetch that his master liked to play with him, Gab Gab the varactyl pounced on the flash bangs. While it ultimately muffled and shielded Dune's eyes from the blast, it unfortunately totally disoriented the poor varactyl. The thought of an innocent creature being harmed made Dune's blood boil and he leapt into action and ignited his sabers.

"Gab Gab!" he screamed. Unfortunately, he couldn't do anything right nowto help his animal friend as shots were currently being fired at him. Crouching low and protecting himself with his two blades, he worked on deflecting the bolts back to their source.

"Don't you hurt him!"

As soon as the doors slammed open, the Jedi Master instinctively tossed up a Force Barrier by gesturing his hand upward like an uppercut while turn his head away from the doorways with his eyes closed; this whole process would take a mere second before he'd be able to look back at the incoming force. The Force Barrier would hopefully be able to absorb some of the blaster bolts coming at him as well as dampen the ringing from the bang that would come off of the flashbang. As soon as the muffled sound of the flashbang rang out, years of training ended up putting his senses into overdrive just enough to tell him he needed to get the heck out of the way; Bruce didn't need vision to see where he would be going though - he had been in these halls many times before the day of its destruction; giving him the knowledge to function through muscle memory.

As the explosion rocked the room, Bruce leapt from his position extinguishing his saber before ducking down into a roll and in the direction of a nearby pillar; he didn't need the Force as he would relay solely on his natural abilities; as soon as the roll was completed he shot himself back up slamming his back against the pillar, cursing the need to reposition - but it was his own fault.

Bruce needed to go on the offensive, it wasn't like he was hiding or anything. They would have easily seen him run from point A to point B if they'd been in the room; it wasn't like he magically vanished. In a matter of moments they'd like have him pinned down, with that thought he needed to formulate a plot and push the attack. He took a moment to recall what was setup as a method of trying to hold the attackers back; while he couldn't quite recall what was used - he did know where a distraction might lie.

Bruce would wait for just a moment between blaster fire before stepping out and using one big push of the Force to flip a table nearby hoping to sending to toward the doorway - perhaps he could take some of the opposition out, if anything he could at least have a distraction. After tossing the table he'd make the efforts to try and return to the pillar, scanning the room to see how the others were doing.

The Sith probably didn't know this, and even some of his Jedi allies might not have known this - but there were ways out of this room without having to go through the main doorway now blocked with armor clad soldiers armed to the teeth.

Bruce would have to take a moment to himself before he could reveal the ways out to those who were unfamiliar.

The Jedi Master was also so focused on escaping from harm's way that he did not see the soldier looking to torch the largest bookshelf; at least not yet he hadn't.

Jubba wasn't a fighter by any stretch of the notion but he had been trained at least sufficiently as a Hutt knight could. The emergence of flashbangs did nothing for Jubba who was far too busy to notice their arrival behind them although the loud clamoring of Imperial boots would finally draw his attention, taking his lightsaber in hand. The ignition of his saber was not to be done lightly as it would either end in his foes death or his own, neither of which were really appealing to him. The lone trooper ahead of him was merely following orders when he raised his blaster to shoot at Jubba, firing two shots.

Jubba watched intently and relied upon the force to guide his movements, seeking to deflect the incoming blaster bolts back toward the shooter. If he was fortunate enough, he hoped to disable the man rather than outright kill him although the bolts may not even head in the right direction while he stood still watching for what might come next.

As small as Fennex was, things that appeared tiny to most people were rather large and noticeable to him. Things like flashbangs, for example. Poised and ready to fight, Fennex saw the little canisters come flying through the open doorway nearly as soon as they left the throwers hands, and the Master sent them flying back out into the hall with a quick burst of the Force and a flick of his tail. When the fuses finished, the diversionary devices would explode right in front of the squad preparing to make entry, disorienting them as they came into the room. Some of his comrades had prepared their own defense against the grenades, which would further insulate the Jedi from ill effects- even out in the hall, the sound was still quite loud.

That done, Fennex darted forward. One saber was held aloft over his ears, pointed toward his opponent, and the other preceded him, held horizontally. His low profile and dual sabers made for a nearly impenetrable little bubble as the soldiers began firing. Fennex would deflect shots in the general direction of their assailants as he moved until he came into melee range- which would take mere moments at his speed. His front saber would lash out, seeking to take his first enemies legs out from under him just below the knees.

The fight was on.

The Soldiers had confidence and training. They worked with the Sith and understood that their primary enemies would be Jedi. Shocks troops above all else understood this fact. They were aware of the risks and were willing to die for their cause. Willing to die and easily dying were different things entirely. These Troops came for war.

One of the soldiers had been aiming to kill Azar Torsin (@Phoenix), a Jedi Knight in the library. Both shots flew true to their target, until the Jedi responded by redirecting the pulse shots directly back at him with a lightsaber. The soldier was totally unable to avoid the first one which slammed into his helmet and send him reeling backwards. It would have easily been fatal if not for the helmet. A second shot came slamming into his chest as he was stumbling backwards and ruined his torso armor. Finally, he hit the floor and dropped his rifle next to his pained body. While not dead, this soldier would need a round to recover before jumping back in. Plus, most of his armor was now moot.

Dune (@Fantasy Liver) also confronted with a soldier who took the same actions as the others. His deflection was not quite as effective as his comrade Azar, but it got the job done. Both pulse shots were deflected away. One went into the floor while the other glanced off the offending soldier's helmet. It did not cause stumbling but it did essentially render the helmet useless. Anger flooded the trooper who decided this Jedi would pay in blood for nearly killing him. It seemed the Jedi was attached to the now blinded and hurt beast. One that was rather defenseless. He turned his focus away from the hiding Jedi and fired two shots at the Varactyl to hopefully finish off the beast. That would be good payback for the helmet.

Shots rang out towards the large mass of a Jedi as well (@Xorism). The Hutt would be a large target but for now only one soldier engaged it. Jubba's hopes of disabling the soldier were dashed rather quickly. The knight was not powerful enough to command such precision on short notice at this range. Both pulse waves were reflected directly into the soldier's chest before it could dodge. The soldier had assumed the Hutt an easy target and underestimated it. A Sith Shock Trooper would be the first death here at the hands of the pacifist Hutt Jedi.

Part of training to fight Jedi meant knowing that grenades and flash bang devices could be returned to sender. The Jedi Master who sent them flying backwards had done so skillfully, but the troops were ready. They had already been spread out to avoid area attacks and knew the tactic would be to flash the room first. The canisters would be slightly disorienting but they were expected. This had caused some of the soldiers to not dodge as well, but for the most part the effects would be gone by the time the battle heated up to the next round.

The small Jedi Master (@Loco) deflected shots back at the soldier unlucky enough to choose him. The soldier's right wrist was hit breaking the armor and causing him to drop his rifle, the second shot slammed into his chest to make him stumble back a couple of steps. The blinding speed and injuries almost made him an easy target but training kicked in. The vibroblade at the left hip was quickly maneuvered into the soldiers left hand to try to block to low slash quickly, managing to just by the skin of his teeth save his legs. His right arm, pained already, would lash out in a punch towards the creature's head from above in hopes of stopping the other lightsaber from slicing and dicing him.

The first Jedi Master (@Zigara), the biggest threat and the first target seen upon entry, was quick to make an escape from the barrage. The barrier lasted long enough to take a couple of hits which was all the Jedi needed to start running. By luck, the force, or a combination of the two he was not hit by the pulse waves coming in before finding his cover. Material exploded as one of the shots his the pillar, and the troops would clearly know where he was as the Master figured. These two troops now had other targets as well, so only one stayed on the Master; the squad leader himself. He fired another pair of shots at the pillar in an attempt to compromise the cover and scare the Jedi out into a fight.

A table flew through the room and did not manage to hit any engaged soldiers who had quickly moved from the opening to allow for their squad mates to enter. Instead, the door clamored against the door frame and took out an additional soldier who was about to enter. He tumbled down the stairs in pain and would likely not be entering this fight before it was over. The door became an obstacle to slow entrance of additional troops, but they would still be coming.

The second soldier that had been set on firing towards Master Guleya had been motioned by the squad leader to break off and engage a new entry to the fight (@Faded Truth). This soldier turned to see the blue woman yell and did indeed dare to attack their solace. The female soldier fired three shots at varying locations on the woman's body, hoping to disable the Jedi or kill her. From about 30 meters away, the shots would come quickly and the soldier knew to be ready to dodge redirected pulse waves.

Azar was glad to see that his shots struck home, but there wasn't time to celebrate his victory. It was a small miracle that the Shock Trooper had survived the bleed-through to his head, but if he was alive, he'd still likely be blinded... hopefully? He really hoped so, but he wasn't banking on it. He kept moving to make himself a more difficult target. The Force continued to flow through him as it guided his saber's movement.

With no more incoming gunfire against him, he took the opportunity to reach out to the Force quickly, gripping the butt of the soldier's rifle and smashing it down onto his head with enough force to bounce it off the ground and knock him out. In an instant more, his saber was back to full defense and he never stopped moving throughout the process, only performing the attack when his body was half-covered by a pillar. @Cazar

With the flick of his wrist the Jedi Master ignited his golden lightsaber blade, the bardottan knew that his opponent wouldn't let him go. The pillar the Jedi was behind began to dwindle sending stone shrapnel flying with each impact; he would have to beat back even for a moment to regain some room to breath. Bruce brought the blade up and across his body while he used the pillar as a shield, when given a simple second the Master would step out at the ready, if any blaster bolt were the seek him as a target he'd quickly attempt to deflect the bolt or bolts as they tore at him. He knew he was a little bit safe as the fire on him had been reduced so he had suspected he was the target of only one trooper.

Bruce would use the Force to deflect and precisely return to sender any shots coming at him from the exposure; in addition he would unleash a large burst of kinetic energy in the direction of the squad leader and his lackeys. The blast of energy would be designed to incapacitate or kill if that were the outcome, but the main point was to push his opponents away from their advance to allow the Jedis to move. Bruce would then shift his attention if given a moment's break, his attention would shift to the solider looking to set fire to the library, while Bruce understood that saving anything beyond what was already crated was not likely to happen - he wanted to prevent the room from filling with smoke and obstructing the Jedis and hindering the combat. With the trooper in his sights and no additional attacks - he'd toss his ignited hilt straight at him, looking to impale the trooper before returning to the Jedi Master. As the weapon would return to the Jedi he'd take cover behind the nearest thing book case, before moving on.

As Bruce was carrying out his defense, all of the crates had been pushed far away from the battle near the back of the library as they prepared to initiate a full retreat. By now the crates would be nearly out of reach of the trooper's range; and since they weren't engaged and left unchecked it made sense.

Jubba was dismayed that in his attempt to disarm the wayward soldier, he instead took the man's life. The tragedy would have to wait before he could reflect further upon it as the sounds of blaster fire and lightsaber swinging filled his ears. Most of the soldiers appeared preoccupied including the one that had split off from the group and had begun attempting to set the library ablaze, thus Jubba moved to intercept him.

He attempted to use the force to remove the soldier's weapon away from him if successful Jubba would then press forward to try and force his surrender while keeping a safe 5-meter distance at a minimum. If the soldier attempted to shoot at him, he would use his blade defensively to deflect the incoming rounds.

What an idiot, Fen thought as the soldier flailed at his head with his fist. it wouldn't do anything to stop the Masters lightsaber. A quick twirl of his topside blade would sever the Sith's arm and follow through to sever the other arm too, holding the blade locked with his first saber. As soon as the enemy's blade was out of the way Fennex would continue his first attack, taking out the mans legs and finishing the fight. He was a Jedi Master- this was nothing.

That done, Fennex would search for a new target wherever it seemed another Jedi needed help, or to help Bruce keep the library from being burned down just yet. Failing that, he'd send the next jackbooted thug coming through the door back from where he came. Any of the options would work- Fennex was just looking for an opportunity to present itself, all the while wary of attacks coming from a new direction.

The pantoran jedi was young, but she was no fool. She had been properly trained in the Jedi arts and was prepared physically and mentally to defend this temple against any opposition. Force gathered around her as she embellished in its purity and light, granting her conviction and focus. Eyes studied the movements of the female officer who had come to engage her, but the Jedi decided to act even before the fiend could pull that trigger.

A quick movement to the left as the first shot came forth allowed her to easily move out of harm's way. Stepping with the right foot forward, two hands clasped the hilt of the saber as her elbows tucked inwards and moved sharply from right to left. The second bolt was deflected to the ground but the third, she aimed to fling it back towards its originator. Saber still in hand, she sped rapidly towards the officer, senses on alert to defend against any incoming attacks while she closed the gap. Once within melee range, she planted with her right to momentarily change her trajectory and make herself a harder target to hit, saber slashed at the trooper's left to right in an attempt to severe the blaster rifle or the hand that held it.

Dune reached out with the force to grab a nearby table and sent it hurtling towards the one shooting at Gab Gab. It was coming straight forward at the soldier so it would hopefully block any shots the Sith trooper took at the varactyl. Of course, it was also a heavy duty library table so it would also knock the man down if it struck. Regardless of if it hit the man or if the Sith managed to duck, Dune would stride towards the trooper and aim to behead the man with his shoot, keeping his other saber in a defensive position, lest another attack occur.
