BIOGRAPHY
Ki was a typical child born on Recopia just another kid on just another planet. The only remarkable thing about her birth was that it was 157 years ago. Born around 50 BBY, young Ki began showing signs of Force-sensitivity. Like other unfortunate children in that system born with a connection to the force, Ki was kidnapped as a youngling by the Seyugi Dervishes, a fanatic order of mysterious Force adepts that roamed the planet in giant repulsorlift barges. Raised in the tradition of the Seyugi, Ki became, like many dervishes, an weapon for hire. She operated in the Mid-Rim, adhering to the tenets of the Seyugi and honing her craft.
Then the Jedi took notice. The Seyugi had spread well beyond their system in the core. The Jedi began to hunt they mysterious and deadly dervishes until they were considered wiped out. Shortly before the Clone War, several hundred surviving Seyugi returned to Recopia to seek refuge. They froze themselves in carbonite on a remote island, guarded by a small number of Mallif monks who kept the secret of the surviving dervishes, even from their fellow Mallif.
One of those frozen dervishes was smuggled away and sold, becoming the prize of a wealthy Hutt crime lord. A resentful slave, eager to get back at the cruel Hutt, released the dervish from the carbonite and helped her escape. Ki was free. Shell shocked from finding herself in a galaxy very different than the one she remembered, Ki struggled both mentally to cope. One thing she did know, the elite assassins, spies and saboteurs of the Seyugi Dervishes who trained her, who raised her, were long gone.
With out their spiritual influence, or masters from which to receive instructions, Ki found herself wanting to separate herself for the things they had done. She sought not only a place to utilize her skills for something besides the revenge, greed and machinations of other people, she sought a moral compass and camaraderie. Would she be fit for the Sector Rangers? Would they even accept someone like her? Could she overcome her dislike of the Jedi who massacred her people 150 years ago?
Personality
Ki is in near constant internal conflict. Instilled in her are the dark ways and intention of the Seyugi who had been her family and influence for most of her life. Her 'resurrection' has lead to a moral dilemma with the discovery that her comrades and their philosophy had faded from the galaxy. Ki's moral compass has found a new North, with a determination to use this 'new life' for something good.
Ki has turned from drawing upon the Dark Side, even at the cost of denying herself some of the advantages it had offered her in her old life. She still struggles with the corruption inherent with the use of such power.
Ki is rough around the edges, lax when it comes to hygiene, and a little standoffish at first. Most of it is a defense, a way to cope with the confusion, loneliness and strangeness of living in a galaxy a century and a half ahead of anything she knew. Ki opens up with her most trusted friends and companions, that is if she happens to find any. Patience and concealing her emotions are traits indoctrinated into Force Adepts of the Seyugi, such as Ki.
Skills
Her linguistics are limited to Basic, Ryl and Huttese, and her accent and dialects are a bit strange, given they are over 150 years old. She is a decent vehicle pilot , knows the basics of piloting small space craft, and can use computers for most common operations.
Ki's Force training was based upon drawing upon the Dark Side. She has broken free of that, and has abandoned the Force techniques she had learned in order to draw from the Light.
