Name: Thustra

Coordinates: O-7

Hyperlane: Hydian Way

Climate: Thustra is a world of varied climates, the majority of which is covered in an arid climate, with large mountains and wide grassland valleys, as well as the occasional desert region. There is a lush belt of greenery along the equator however, with dense forests and hilly valleys, well suited for growing food and supplying the fresh air of the world. Thustra has a mostly all-season environment, spring and fall mostly existing without getting into summer or winter, instead the planet sporting a rainy season. However, the more extreme temperature changes can be found on the green belt of the world, where the winter months often result in heavy snow to match the heavy rain of other places, and the spring brings with it a dry and very hot summer.

Terrain: Thustra is a rocky world with many towering spires of rock and large valleys, which often serve as the centers of communities within the large world. While most of the planet's geography consists of this type of weather, there are exceptions. The equator sports a green belt of lush, dense forest nearly 1000 miles wide. These forest areas are alive and vibrant, and sport their own tall mountains within their area, Thustra itself being a planet primarily of mountains and valleys. Besides the main continent of Thustra, there are many smaller pieces of land scattered to the north and south of the super-continent, which tend to have colder, harsher climates as they get closer to the poles. There is 1 large ocean on Thustra, and a number of lakes and rivers. However, water is a concern for many, which makes its close proximity to Aquaris a venerable lifesaver to the planet. Thustra is rich in minerals, with mining being one of its largest exports, and sports a large collecting of precious, hardy metals and metallic substances which help to give the planet plentiful wealth and resources for technological advancement.

Rotation: The planet has a day and night cycle equivalent to a 24 hour period of time.

Inhabitants: The planet sports a wide array of fauna and flora, it middle belt sporting a vast array of flowers, trees, and berry bearing fruit, while its arid plains sport many types of grasses and cacti, as well as nut trees. It posses a unique number of quadrupeds, such as the Thustran Four-Horned Elk, found in the green belt region. Along with Nerfs, one of the most eaten animals on Thustra, there are the Thustran Nerf-Houds, dogs bred to aid farmers in herding and taming their livestock. A number of birds are also present on the world, including the song-hummer finch, the red tailed raven, and its planetary animal, the Golden Hawk, a massive bird nearly 12 feet in size and an alpha predator of the arid mountains, often rumored to swoop down and snatch full grown nerfs for their food.

However, its more prominent spcies are the Sephi, a sentient people who reside on the worlds surface, the Sephi are a long lived race, with middle age being 200 years of age, and old age being considered in the 400's. Sephi are a naturally tall people, but fall within the height ranges of most humans, just a bit on the tall side. They are humanoid in shape, but their skin comes in a variety of odd colors. Light tones of Pinks, Violets, Lavender, and Purples are the most common color, though more extreme colorations are also possible, albeit rare. Hair is similarly varied, with their hair color ranging from White to Red to Brown to Black, blond not being in their genetic makeup, and silver serving in its place. The most striking feature they possess are their ears, which are long, tapered, and usually go either upwards or back along the persons head. These ears are very sensitive to sound, and are partially moveable, capable of twitching, swiveling, and flattening, often in conjecture to a Sephi's mood.

Resources: Thustra is incredibly rich in mineral wealth, in particular sporting a sizeable amount of Platinum, Gold, Tungstem, and Iron, but its largest mineral resources being Titanium, Aurodium, and Chromium, which are abundant in the many towering mountains and spires of Thustra. This wealth has resulted in both technological and economic dominance within the region, and make it a powerful contributor to the galactic economy. Bronzium is also present, as well as Electrum, but in much smaller and trace amounts, and is generally considered not worth mining compared to the other minerals available to them.

Government: Thustra has long been an ally of the Republic, standing with them as staunch allies in their military, being one of the planets to help send members to the Border Alliance, before the official military of the Republic was created. Its encouragement of people to take up the Wanders Vows leaves it a people who rarely impede upon individual rights, and a people rooted deeply in its traditions. It is ruled by a Monarchy, 3 kingdoms being present within the Planet, and each pledging their loyalty to the High King of Thustra. The king of the northern air rules over the region north of the green belt, the king of the southern stone ruling the region to the south. The High King of Thustra resides within the green belt region, in the capital of Ains Urol Goun, the largest and oldest city in all of Thustra.

Among the kings, there are also a number of Lords, who rule individual fiefdoms and fall under the dominion of the 3 kingdoms. While not nearly as powerful as their kingly rulers, the lords act as the governors of their respective territories, carrying out their kings will upon the land they are given to rule, and each lord inheriting their position by blood. While not holding sway on galactic affairs, these Lords do hold power in the day to day local affairs of Thustra, and are the gears and cog that keep the government running.

Among these Lords, stand 13 who are exceptionally wealthy, martially powerful, politically savvy, or simply hold a large enough swath of territory or people to influence the world at large. These twelve royal families are as follow.

The Vinsoth Family, The Yarhan Family, The Aldrich Family, The Isz Family, The Pheumera Family, The Nahar'Fal family, The Caedan Family, The Slaine Family, The Lucatano Family, The Yakobu Family, The Yankis Family, The Aeramyna Family, and the The Ains Family, the oldest bloodline on Thustra and current ruling bloodline on the planet.

There have, however, also been notible disgraces among the nobility, in which the course of action is a purge, followed by the destruction of former property and the land to be divided up to the neighboring Lordships, as superstition around inherited hearths make such a prospect unsavory. Notibly, there are 5 families who are reviled among the Sephi People, and have had their bloodlines purged from the planets surface. The Gotthard Family, who used their force sensitivity to attempt to create a dark side nexus on the world. The Reitanscrasch family, whose use of slavery and attempted sale of the Sephi people to the zygerrians nearly cost the planet. The Oran'Rell Family, who attempted to slay the king and their own first born son in a bid for political power. The Irithando Family, who betrayed the king in the great Oran'Rell Rebellions. And the Volfe family, who attempted to use the dark side of the force to ascend the political ladder. For each of these families, their actions led to the utter destruction of their lands and capitals, and the execution by the Royal Guards, the planets security forces and the Knights of Thustra, the elite fighting force of the planet.

Culture: The planet of Thustra sports an odd culture that appears to be somewhat stuck in time. While it possess modern technological capabilities and resources, it holds tightly onto its traditions, and its way of conducting its own affairs. Thustra is a planet where Honor, Duty, and Family are the main pillars of all of Thustra's society. It's military mirrors that of the knights of old, dressed in metal armor and wielding melee weapons into battle upon mighty steeds. However, times have led to changes as well, though merely in terms of avaliable equipment. Vibro-lances and Blades have replaced the weapons of old, Armors of Titanium and Phrik has come instead of Steel and Iron, and the 4 legged war animal has been replaced by the Speeder Bike. But honor is still honor, and a code of condcut in times of both peace and war are expected to be upheld by all those in society. Duty to ones betters, and loyalty to ones family, are tantamount to Sephi society, sometimes to the determent of society in the name of individualism or tribalism.

The ability for the common man to rise within society is hard, many finding themselves stuck in the middle or lower class, with only the hope of luck in marriage being the key to raising up the social and political ladder of Thustra. The monarchy holds a strong hold on the planet, but is benevolent, or else faces the wrath of the countless lords it employees as its power base. While some may look at Thustra and assume because of these facts, that they were a backwards and backwater planet, they would be wrong. What Thustra does not value in civil rights or the people's hold on government, it makes up for in its pride for technology and research. Its defenses are on par with most other planets, its fleet well trained and outfitted, and its people absorbed its military pride. For in Thustra, to serve ones planet in war or peace, is to commit to a duty beyond any other, and those who do are often compensated handsomely with both credits, and with fame, which holds a strong place in Sephi society.

The use of blasters is seen as a tactic of necessity, Sephi believing that Melee combat is more honorable then the use of blasters or explosives. However, each Sephi is trained how to fight at a young age, and is then given the choice to pursue this career or to live their lives as something else. Those who do pursue the military fall into two camps, The royal guards who protect Thustra and serve as its security force, and the Knights of Thustra, who are the elite warriors dedicated to spreading Thustra's fame across the galaxy, by fighting in wars and aiding the republic. Some view these knights as little better then mercenaries, but many seek to earn a name for themselves via battle, not credits or wealth. Knights often form bands of adventuers and can sometimes never return to Thustra, a fate which is frowned upon by many as an isolationist people, but not fully shunned or looked down upon. One such band, the Golden Hawks of Thustra, are famous knights armed to the teeth with plate armor of Quandium Steel, marked gold with their insignia, and are some of the most prestigious knights to join.

Oaths are a heavy part of the Sephi's social outlook, viewing such an agreement or vow as a binding, fully legal contract. Contract law, additionally, happens to be one of the primary professions many Sephi Lawyers specialize in, should they pursue such a career path. To go back and break ones word, to become an Oathbreaker, is a mark of shame for any self-respecting Sephi. To commit the crime of cold blooded or senseless murder, or worse, to become a Kinslayer or Kingsalyer and kill ones royal superior or blood relative, is an unspeakable crime on Thustra. Those who do so can expect to find themselves sentenced to death for such acts, and no amount of self-defense clause can stop such an execution, with banishment being the only other solution, and even, being left to the Kings discretion.

Technology: Thustra is on par with many technologically advanced planets, possessing a naval unit of star fighters, frigates, and crusiers, as well as a few carrier vessels that patrol the Thustra system, and monitor Thustra to ensure control of who can come and go from the system. It possess AA-Cannons in most of its major cities, allowing it to fire on targets out of atmosphere or entering atmosphere to attack them. Many of the cities possess defenses of their own, such as automated turret systems, droids designed to help sure up the royal guards, war walkers to help them in combat, an abundance of fast striking speeder bike riding combat troops, and a shield generator which can be deployed to protect it from incoming fire or attempts to siege them. There are blind-spots however, such as the more rural and less populated countryside or archipelago nations that reside away from Thustra's mainland. Many of their weapons, such as the vibroswords or their blaster rifles, are standard galactic models, and their armor is often made from Titanium mixed with other metals, due to its abundance on their world.

However, the world does possess technological prowess in the form of their knights armor. Made from the finest materials, and often with an ornate styling to them, Thustra Knight Armor is somewhat simple in nature. Designed to take hits, it lacks many of the systems involved with modern combat armor, such as a HUD, but does possess some modern creations. Boots with magnetic locking systems to help anchor the user to metal or magnetic surfaces were common, as were oxygen systems that supplied the armor with 1 hour of oxygen when sealed. Often, these knights wielded melee weapons or shorter blaster rifles which they could utilize on their speeder bikes, specializing on close quarters combat, fast and hard hitting blitz's, and closing the distance between themselves and foes quickly.

And example of armor, worn by a member of the Golden Hawks of Thustra.

Satellites: Thustra is located in the Thustra System, and does not possess any known moons, though may sport other planets in its solar system. Its neighboring system houses Aquaris.

History: Thustra was once a planet locked in constant civil war with itself, made up of various lords who battled each-other for scarce sources of drinkable water or an abundance of food for a year. Many died in these battle, enough that there were questions if the Sephi would survive such a conflict much longer. That was when a young child rose to lead a small band of men from the woods, this small band winning victory after victory. The young mans name was simply Ains, and he fought and battled his way to supremacy of Thustra, dubbing his ruling city Ains Urol Goun, or "Great Land of Ains", and established that his family would rule Thustra for all time. The reign of the Ains family has been a constant on Thustra ever since, his defeated foes taking note of the high king, and adopting names for their families as well, laying the groundwork for the world to become orginized and centralized, to a certain extent.

When space travel was discovered, the Sephi developed a sense of manifest destiny, first stumbling upon the Watery world of Aquaris and using their technolgoy to harvest water from that world to help give water to Thustra, allowing the planet to develop much more farmlands and explode in population moreso then they would have been able to do previously. When the republic made contact with them, the Sephi were at first hostile, but after meeting with the republic representatives, and finding them possessing a vast population and capability for war, it was decided by Aldrin Ains the III to join the republic, rather then face such odds needlessly. Soon, credits began to pour into the once isolated world, as their mineral wealth was discovered, and tapped by a few lords who recognized what they were liteally sitting upon.

As centuries and millenia have passed, Thustra has risen to become a power in its own right, helping to supply the republic with troops, resources, and knights. The knights of thustra, clad in plate armor and riding their steeds of war, have fought in republic militaries in small numbers. Some have turned to mercenary work after some time, but every knight usually spends 30 years abroad as part of their Knightly Vows, to wander the stars and help all those who need it as part of ones duty. Thustra has viwed the republic as an ally for a long time, and the republic has benefited from the planets riches and loyalty. This relationship however has led to a bit of stagnation, as Thustra culturally has the means to sustain their monarchy indefinitely, with the ability to import any good needed to keep the populace placated, and the royal families well funded, there is little incentive to change how things are. While Honor, Duty, and Family mean everything on this world, the common person of no remarkable blood means little, and if one peers beneath the surface of the almost fairytale like society, they can see that Thustra has become a world of the haves, and the have nots, while keeping the have nots out of sight, and out of any history they may write.

Intent: My intention was to expand on a planet whose race I have made use of, and who lacked a write up for this timeline. It is to provide players looking for a certain kind of race or character to utilize to their full desire. Those who wish to play certain archetypes may find them in this race, or those who wish to tell a story that inverts such archetypes are free to do so with the Sephi now.
