This is an interview conducted by the American Enterprise Institute, a non-partisian public policy think tank, with Cass Sunstein about his book, "The World According to Star Wars." I find it to be criminally unnoticed compared to their more standard political discussions.
There are a lot of interesting questions posed in this interview, talking about numerous topics such as how the Galactic Republic's corrupt, restrictive legislature giving rise to the Empire can be reflective of the state of American politics, the importance of the freedom of choice in politics, the religious tones that Star Wars set, how the story of Star Wars' success is a perfect example of how public opinion works, and more.
I should note that significant portion of this interview is also dedicated to talking about the saga's religious tones.
