The Vindicators

“Our enemies will know that we are watching. They will know that we are coming for them. They will learn that there is nothing they can do to stop us.”

Picture this: You’ve just watched a loved one get brutally murdered. You stand there, aghast, amidst their blood. What do you do? You go to the authorities. You wait for them. They gauge your report and decide how to prioritise. In the meantime, you are left alone, utterly alone and waiting for justice. Is it justice you’re waiting for? Or simply for them to do the job they are paid to do.

Would they do it for nothing?

The concept of justice is arbitrary. The Jedi are willing to sacrifice and commit to binding rules that forever ally them with the concept of righteousness, ultimately tethering them down. Those existing within the law have their own limiting jurisdictions. Ultimately, everyone has a side, a conviction forever sealed and set in stone decided by authorities above them. We exist outside of that law. We exist outside of the universal give and take policy.

You owe us nothing.

You are with us or against us.

Why? Because our justice is not blind.

What does the group believe?

You are either with The Vindicators, or against them. There is no middle ground when it comes to the pursuit of justice. Refusing to cooperate, or even interact with any government or organisation, The Vindicators operate outside of the law, and almost exclusively by themselves. A force for good, they protect the weak and deliver justice wherever it is demanded, and in any manner required of them, be it criminal or otherwise.

What goals does it want to achieve?

Ultimately, The Vindicators seek to protect those who cannot protect themselves, and to affect justice where there is none. They seek to police the galaxy, and as a result, aim to create a galactic reputation or retribution, to discourage and strike fear into the hearts of those that oppose them.

How will it achieve its goals?

The methods The Vindicators employ are as old as the stars. Through displays of strength and acts of heroism, in addition to constant interference with the affairs of those that have declared, in any manner, as their enemies, The Vindicators will create a reputation, and force their will upon those that oppose them. The team will be built upon the backs of powerful individuals, made more powerful by their association with the team.

Where does it operate from?

The Vindicators operate from a number of bases scattered around the galaxy. Underwater bases on Selonia, Manaan and Kamino serve to support operations in the Core, Inner Rim and Wild Space, respectively. A base buried beneath the sands of the Dune Sea on Tatooine services operations in the Outer Rim. These bases are, to begin with, little more than a collection of rooms. With engineering spaces and living spaces, the base provides the necessities. Always heavily armoured and shielded, the bases are both well hidden and defended. Each base can support the whole team for two months before requiring re-supply.

With what does it operate?

The public face of the organisation is the Vindicator’s themselves, a team of seven individuals who are deployed to the field. They are in turn supported, from behind the scenes, by a team of eight operatives.
Individual Vindicators operate with whatever skills and equipment they can bring to the table. They are further augmented with high science and equipment where requested, or as required by the mission.
The Operatives act as handlers for the field team, and perform maintenance on equipment as required by their operative, in addition to monitoring their health. Furthermore, they are responsible for maintenance of the base at which they are currently stationed. The eighth member oversees the finances of the group, as well as maintenance and security for unoccupied bases.

How does it operate?

The Vindicators act across the galaxy, regardless of jurisdiction, in almost any manner conceivable. Engaging in all manners of operation, from guerrilla actions to terrorism, as well as street brawls, space battles and of course 'super heroics'. In addition, they will employ kidnapping, murder and ransom as and when they are appropriate. The entire team might deploy at once, or in any number of smaller sub-teams; right down to single person deployments. Each member will always operate with their handler, regardless of the size or nature of their deployment.

What resources does it have?

Whilst initially reliant on Eden’s personal resources, the group will come to rely on the money generated from its operations as well. Thanks to a very small scale and a very solid infrastructure, the group is able to rely on a relatively small flow of credits to maintain its operations.

How is it going to act in the RP?
Ongoing objectives:

1. Recruit to fill gaps in roster.
2. Enter threads to capture or kill evil or criminal characters.
3. Prevent the successful completion of evil (all?) faction missions.
4. Acquire (by any means necessary) high technology.
5. Interrupt, or successfully complete, any and all quests possible.
6. Oppose any action by any character or faction that adversely affects ‘the people’.
7. Increase strength and influence of spy network.

Short term objectives:

1. Scout out new locations for bases (starting with three (Star destroyer, Kashyyk, Tatooine)).
2. Kill one high profile target (any faction).
3. Capture one high profile target (any faction).
4. Create a spy network (by placing moles or turning characters).

Mid term:

1. Create and maintain a reputation as a dangerous, potent force.
2. Destabilise competing ‘good’ factions by;
- Kill one high profile target
- Capture two high profile targets
- Interrupt 1/3 of all faction missions
3. Attack ‘Evil’ Faction by;
- Kill two high profile targets
- Capture one high profile target
- Interrupt ALL faction missions

Long term:

1. Destruction of an ‘evil’ faction by;
- Killing the faction leader
- Capture or kill all high ranking subordinates
- Capture or kill all middle ranking characters
- Kill all low ranking characters
2. Destabilise all opposing factions by;
- Capture or kill 3 high ranking targets
- interrupt ½ of all missions.

Obviously objectives will change as the story progresses, this is just a bare bones structure to give a rough idea of its
procedure and goals.
