The transport provided by Master Tik from Pilgrim's Point entered the Rooted Moon's atmosphere. Master Tik put his trust in Isen to recover the Master Mandibu's holocron as well as the other keys to opening it, and Isen put his trust in a group of others in the Order to get the memory crystal and the Lightning Tree. Isen, however, wouldn't miss an opportunity to be on the team that went after Master Mandibu's holocron. The other items meant nothing without it. According to a personal ledger of Astaal Vilbum, a former Caretaker of First Knowledge, there was good reason to believe that the holocron would be found here. The Vanquisher III had the holocron on board when it crashed in the recovery effort after the Great Hyperspace Disaster. The Hertzal System had a great many crises on its hands, and a full scouring and removal of the remains of the Vanquisher were never completed. According to the manifest of things that were recovered from the Galactic cruiser, the holocron was noticeably absent from the list. The hope, of course, is that in the rush to get the necessities and bodies off the Vanquisher, the holocron was left as an oversight and that it would still be on the ship.
The ship flew over the spot where the Vanquisher crashed and still laid. Its remains were still there, though they were surrounded by a lush green jungle of vines and thickets. Master Tik postulated that it was possible that the holocron activated itself and somehow caused this rather lush growth, surrounding the massive cruiser in a living, green prison. He also offered the possibility that the growth around the cruiser could be due to someone opening the holocron, learning its knowledge, and practicing right there at the ship. The Order lost track of the crystal long ago, and it also could have been on the ship at the time of the crash, only to be salvaged and finally end up in a different part of the galaxy. If all of that was the case, there was no guarantee that the cube would still be anywhere near there, possibly not even on the moon at all. If that were the case, the holocron may be lost forever.
One thing Master Tik was sure of- the plant growth surrounding the cruiser was not natural to the planet, and it would be more than an odd coincidence that for such growth to begin where this particular holocron that teaches such knowledge should be found.
The transport landed at a spaceport about 15 klicks from the site of the crash. Isen entered the commons and addressed the Sluissi padawan and the Dathomirian Knight. "We're not far. You have the coordinates on your datapads. We can rent some speeder bikes and get there in no time." He took a look at the Sluissi and wondered how he might ride a speeder bike. After being a padawan with a Vratix master, he learned not to underestimate species' abilities to adapt to humanoid technology. He may be an expert speeder bike rider for all Isen knew. Still, there were other options. "I think I also saw a landspeeder as we were landing if that suits anyone's fancy."
Isen opened the door of the transport and lowered the ramp before looking back at the team. "Any questions before we find Master Mandibu's holocron so we can return it to its rightful place in our archives?"
