DISCLAIMER: I already wrote one of the establishment posts to this arc because I'm old-fashioned and didn't realize there was a new system in place. For that I am sorry. Please find it in your heart to forgive me.
- What is going to happen in your plot?
The overall goal of this plot is to investigate Rebel penetration into the Imperial Republica government. That sounds way more intense than I actually want it to be. Basically Jacob is a journalist and a politician has died in a strip club which alone would be enough for a journalist to have a field day with looking into their private life. However, the stripper picked the man's pockets and found a datachip (this part will be in the second establishment post) with accounting books detailing the transfer of money to (rebellion) friendly companies or people.
The plot will be the journalistic, not criminal, investigation of this situation. Obviously since trolling through account books, which IRL would be much of this investigation, would not make for a particularly exciting story the investigation will be dramatized as a field report.
The final product of this plot will be a journalistic exposé on the existence of corruption among low level politicians published as a one post thread, written as a Holo News Network article. - What other players will be a part of this?
At present only Black Noise as Larisa will be part of this plot. - Where are all the places (if more than one) that your plot will be taking place?
The plot will be centered on Zeltros, with maybe a few excursions to near-by worlds such as Coruscant, Commenor or Kuat. - Please provide a basic in-character timeline of what you expect to happen.
The main plot points that must be hit are as follows.
[*]Politician dies in the Tickled Pink
[*]Jacob or Larisa learn about and recover the datachip the stripper lifted from the politician either by convincing her or somehow liberating it from police custody (journalistic ethics are not a primary concern here).
[*]They identify the transfer of money as aid to the rebellion.
[*]They identify the recipients of the money
[*]A plan is made to investigate why the politician was involved with said people or organizations as an aid to the rebels.
[*]The investigation commences.
[*]A certain amount of corrupt practices, shady dealings and political fixing is discovered. I should mention here that I don't want this to be on a massive scale since that would turn this in to a very complicated multi-thread faction plot. My goal is to keep it small scale but have a sensational aspect to it that would make for a good story and thus furthering Jacob's career. EG: Money laundering and a small rebel cell exposed.
[*]The investigation ends.
[*]Loose ends or residual conflicts are tied up or resolved.
[*]Article is written. - What do you or your character hope to achieve with this plot? What is the "end-game"?
As I said at the beginning, Jacob has noted that the scandalous death of the politician in a strip club would make for an excellent story that could return his name to the front page. The whole plot is simply following breadcrumbs that started with the death and went a little deeper. That, and that alone is his main goal. - Do you need any involvement of canon NPCs or faction leaders to be DMed by a staff member? If so, please detail who/what and for what purpose.
I don't think the involvement of canon NPCs is needed. Most characters introduced will be either personal NPCs in Jacob's story-line (friends, family, etc) or there for exposition reasons in the story and exit quickly.
