With the step forward, Nox expected the sorcerer to remain in his bubble but instead, he redirected the flames right back at the Mandalorian. With it only being a step, the distance was only shortened by a foot and left plenty enough for him to react fast enough at eight feet. As his gaze remained locked on the Knight the entire time, he was able to still spot the flames rolling along the ground to him and redirected to his head. His right hand would remain on his holster instead of drawing his blaster out.

With a lean back but towards the right, Nox activated his jetpack to fly backward slightly and then to the right, in the form of J in one smooth motion. It allowed him to get out of the range of the fire and deactivate the flamethrower as well. Before he could chargeback in, he watched two stun bolts strike the Knight and knock him out immediately. Disappointment flashed through the Solus but he didn't linger long, as he shot straight off and let Gett'se claim his prize.

As he gained a little altitude, he loaded his wrist-rocket once more with a fresh explosive. Nox was able to spot Arthos with his new trajectory and his target more importantly and angled towards them. As the Senator avoided the bolts from the Vizla and took aim to fire at Rayyan with his new position, the Solus would be aiming his wrist right at the bush.

As he shortened the distance and the Senator (@Nor'baal) opened fire on the Kyrze, Nox would let loose his wrist rocket as it propelled itself and closed the distance of about 20 meters rapidly. The rocket would be aimed behind the man and bush as it would strike the area right as his third bolt finished leaving his barrel, providing little time to react. If the rocket found its mark, the shrapnel from the explosive would tear through the armorless Senator easily. If it didn't injure or kill the Senator, it would at least force the man to move out from his cover and expose him for someone else.

After the wrist-rocket was fired, Nox pulled out his blaster and landed on the ground as he faced their general direction, ready to open fire on the last two standing who resisted them.

Arthos scowled darkly as the senator ducked behind the pillar to avoid his shots and continued skulking in the shade like a coward. This was the man who had challenged Mand'alor to single combat? It was an insult in and of itself. As Starros was relocating, avoiding Arthos' last attacks, Arthos tapped the button on the side of his gauntlet and jumped - his jetpack kicking into gear again to lift him higher into the air and closer to the bush the senator was rushing for.

With himself now hovering in the air, Arthos lowered his aim at Starros. From the angle he was at, the bush was far less effective as cover. It had served Starros well and in a fight against Sith Troopers it would have been adequate but Mandalorians? Mandalorians fought in three dimensions.

As Starros was letting off his second shot at Rayyan, Arthos fired two shots of his own at the Senator from above. From the angle he was hovering at, he would be above Starros but still within a good 25m distance so that his pistol would be just as effective as it had been against Bak-Ru.

His second shot would be timed, happily enough, to coincide with the wrist rocket from Nox exploding against the ground near to Starros. With the distraction of the rocket, alongside any damage it could bring down on the senator, his own shots and Arthos' odd angle of attack, he hoped that this would be the last they heard of the good senator in this battle.

There was pain. From his kneeling position, his leg was ripped yet again, dragged out from under him. As he was in full view of the Jedi when he kneeled first, he watched Laeo's hands move when he landed in his kneel. He sprung from his back, left foot, to try to avoid the sorcery, but there was no avoiding the inevitable. He had already been caught in the snare.

He fell to his back as his right leg was ripped out of socket. Foul, demented sorcerer. That was all he could think - all he could focus on - as the blinding pain of the snap took hold of him. After the Jedi changed his attention away to focus on his Mandalorian comrades, the most he could manage to to was to plant his left gauntlet into the ground, bringing his left foot forward and leaning off his injured leg to alleviate some of the pain that pressure caused it. He sat his right hand on his lap, barely able to pull himself up to an upright sit, eyes still narrowed on the wicked Jedi.

After the painful ringing in his ears subsided, he heard his comrade issue an ultimatum - his life or his honor. Fenyang knew what he would choose, if given the opportunity. Now to see what the Jedi think.

Rayyan kept his eyes trained on the white-bladed Jedi the entire time, watching the exchange between him and the Mand’alor. As a result, the Kryze had a full view of the exchange between them, and he watched as the heavy rifle bolts were directed laterally and in front of him, cutting through the air directly into the direction he was flying.

Even if Rayyan saw the deflected bolts, they were directed in his flight path far too quickly for the Kryze to avoid them entirely. He abruptly drew back on the thrusters of his jetpack and angled his body downward, and while it was enough to dodge the first of the plasma bolts, the second found purchase against Rayyan’s pauldron.

The heavy blaster bolt cut right through the durasteel alloy of the Mandalorian’s armor and the bodysuit underneath, carving a molten channel through the muscle and flesh of his upper arm.

A pained cry of agony escaped from Rayyan’s lip as the blaster bolt found purchase, his right arm dropping slightly as the pain radiated out through his body. It was enough to force the Mandalorian to come down for a harsh landing at roughly the same time that Laeonas turned his focus onto the Mand’alor, his body plummeting towards the earth.

As soon as his boots touched the ground, Rayyan dropped and rolled forward - skidding forward before eventually coming to a halt, forcing himself into a crouch - positioned about half-way through his original flight path and just to the flank of Laeonas.

As a result, the Kryze never had the opportunity to get off his three additional shots on Laeonas. It also meant that Rayyan was several meters out of range of Starros, ensuring that the Senator’s blaster fire - once again - fizzled out well before it reached its target.

Rayyan didn’t linger on the ground for very long, gritting his teeth as he forced himself back onto his feet. His attention snapped back towards Laeonas as the Jedi concluded his low-blow on the Mand’alor’s leg, raising his blaster pistols once more towards the Jedi.

Switching both pistols to stun, Rayyan pulled the trigger in rapid succession - sending a volley of three blue rings towards him.

The single shot from his right arm - on account of the damage and difficulty raising it all the way - was dangled downward and towards the Jedi’s legs, while the two shots from his left arm were fired towards Laeonas’ torso - forcing him to defend against bolts to multiple regions of his body and with the inability to deflect them back at Rayyan.

Zerath felt his strength fading. He’d been firmly on the defensive this entire brief battle, and the Mandalorian he was facing had applied almost overwhelming firepower in a matter of seconds. The strain of projecting the Force Barrier combined with the blistering pain that had been his left hand had greatly taxed the Jedi Knight, and even his efforts to redirect the flames were in vain. The shimmering Force Barrier collapsed as the Mandalorian reactivated their jetpack and zoomed out of flamethrower range, even as the all-too-familiar warning of danger from the Force alerted Zerath to yet another threat; the rifle crosshairs locked on his body.

Even if he’d wanted to, his leaden limbs would’ve been too slow to react to the incoming shots, so instead Zerath reached out towards his primary adversary (@Orbit); not with his hand or lightsaber, but with his mind. He would brush against the Mandalorian’s consciousness, replaying the scene of the mother being executed by the Mand’alor and sending with it the sorrow that Zerath felt at such a despicable act. Four words would accompany the images; a simple accusation in the calm voice of the Jedi Knight.

“Where is your honor?”

Then, the stun bolts hit, and it was lights-out for Zerath.

Words. (@Arcangel )A demand for surrender, one that had come right after he'd brought down his opponent. Yet the man was bargaining for one of the lives of Laeonas' comrades. The fresh pain in his back and intensified pain in his leg begged him to accept, but another part of him sang louder than the Mandalorian's offer of peace. He sang a song of retribution to himself; a song where these beskar clad barbarians who'd brought war would have it served back to them firsthand. A song whose opening verse had reached it's first crescendo when he'd destroyed the Mandalorian's leg.

If their honor permitted them to bring war to innocent worlds and threaten unarmed opponents, it wasn't an honor he'd trust with surrender either.

Laeonas never answered the other mando's call for surrender-- didn't have time as another (@Altaris ) swooped down just thirty feet away. Instinct kicked in again, and finding no cover with which to defend behind as the other raised his blasters, Laeonas would fall into a crouch-- and summon an ally that wasn't being held hostage. The force would coil around the fallen Mandalorian's form, yanking it up and pulling it to cover his flank.

Even if Fenyang's body hadn't been yanked in front of him to catch the two shots from Rayyan's left blaster, Laeonas had fallen in such a way that the two would harmlessly pass over his head. However the third shot, fired from Rayyan's right blaster, would whizz underneath his fallen comrade, and collide with Laeo's right thigh. A gasp escaped his lips as all feeling was lost in his leg, and the body he'd summoned as a shield would fall as he lost focus for a moment, while his lightsaber slipped from his fingers.

But as the moment passed, he found himself still awake-- still alive, with the force flowing through him. He couldn't hope to walk, so his fallen saber would be useless at his current range. But his fallen opponent had a number of toys he'd used to bring Laeonas pain, and now, he'd turn those right back on the man's allies. Reaching out with an open hand, the man's Galaar 15 would fly into his palm. The man's accuracy had never been exceptional, but as he turned towards Rayyan, his trigger finger felt steadier than it had ever been.

He pulled once, recoil throwing the barrel back as a single shot whizzed toward's Rayyan's center of mass. There were no screams, no elaborate tricks, no rolls. Only the desire to see those before him die.

With the wrist rocket hammering into the ground behind him, Starros was propelled forwards, his own momentum and that of the blast forcing him forwards. His armour, light though it was, protected him from the best of the shrapnel - but was rendered useless thereafter.

And that was when the shots hit him.

Two fired from an airborne assailant who he never saw, shooting a combatant in the back. Starros fell to the ground, lifeless - his challenge to the Mandalor unanswered.

The white hot pain receded towards a dull, throbbing intensity. It was immensely painful. But it was a different kind of pain, one that could be adjusted to.

His hand hand never released his carbine. Years of training had taught him to never surrender his gun. As the Jedi began to tug the Mandalore, Fenyang would swap the firing mode to 'stun' and shoot twice at his chest. As they were essentially next to each other, and the Jedi was being pinned down by his allies, Fenyang expected the Padawan could not maintain the concentration required to pull him into his cover and avoid getting hit by stun blasts.

Should this somehow fail, Fenyang would not prove the helpless human shield the Jedi would hope for. He would continue to fire more stun shots at the Jedi the closer he was pulled, and slam the butt of his carbine into the Jedi's face if he was fully summoned to his side.

His gun, too, would not so easily wrested from his hands. He would struggle the whole time with the Jedi, using his arms and body to throw off his aim.

Gett'se shouldn't have been surprised that his call for surrender was ignored, if it was even heard. The noise of battle was beginning to die down as the aruetti resistance grew slim, but the Kryze warrior he had fought alongside moments before landed and fired at white-blade and the man continued fighting. Or perhaps he had chosen his honor.

Snapping his rifle up to his shoulder without firing into the unconscious Jedi's chest, Gett'se didn't waste the time or ammunition on the stunned man as he trained his crosshair's on the Jedi as the sorcerer dipped into a crouch, and pulled the trigger.

The Mand'alor was off to the side and busy shooting at the Jedi himself which would likely keep the man busy as Gett'se fired off three red blaster bolts in quick succession. The first aimed for the mans right leg, the second for his left, and the third and final one aimed at his chest, which would hit if he remained upright after having his legs blasted out from under him.

The rocket had found its mark and revenge for its brother. With it striking the ground, the explosion rocked the Senator from behind and would launch him out of cover. His protection was shredded from the shrapnel and it left him wide open to be taken down by another fellow Mandalorian, their shots piercing through the man's flesh easily.

Nox wouldn't inspect the results for long as his gaze would instantly snap to his Mand'alor and the Jedi close to him. With their leader on the ground and attempting to struggle over the gun, the Solus could only assume that he was injured and not able to decapitate White-blade right then and there.

With the beskad still in his left hand, Nox would lift that arm and bring his forearm in to form the limb into a ninety-degree angle as a firing base. The sword would remain in his hand as in one smooth motion with his other but free hand, he swung the rifle attached to him with a sling, forward and rested on the front half on top of his forearm, offering a stable foundation and letting him be able to hold both weapons.

Nox would begin to walk towards the Mand'alor and in an arc toward White-blade's flank. The two were in close proximity and the Solus wasn't going to risk shooting his own Mand'alor and then get killed right after. Instead, he would have his head lowered as he aimed down the sights of the rifle, the barrel locked on White-blade (@Tom) and ready to fire upon him if he tried to make an escape or left enough space for him to take a clean shot. Nox would be more than ready to capitalize on the opportunity.

It would've been such a glorious song. A song of a Jedi, valiantly defending a world and it's inhabitants from barbarians. With all comrades brought down, he'd bring justice to the enemies of peace and light. What would that make him, besides a hero? "Murderer," some might say, but was it murder to kill a man that pointed a blaster at you? Who'd attacked the planet you were on, shot at you, and demanded you surrender to what amounted to kidnapping?

Ultimately, the questions didn't matter. Because this wouldn't end with the triumphant victory of a single Jedi against five Mandalorian warriors. There was no victory in a scenario such as that. Perhaps if things had gone differently; if they hadn't been outnumbered, if they'd been stronger, maybe they could've won. But, as Gett'se had said; "This day belongs to the children of Mandalore."

The Jedi didn't acknowledge that though. Instead, when the Mandalorian whose leg he'd ruined came to, the man would promptly drop him, the first two stun shots from the Mandalorian firing off into the air behind him. He barely had time to shift focus when a shot buried itself into his lower right leg. The man felt no pain, as the previous stun bolt had temporarily shut off his nerves. Still, with his attention as divided as it was, the man could hardly defend from what came next.

Twisting his saber down, he batted away the shot that was aimed at his left leg-- while the shot meant for his chest instead shot through his wrist, and would graze under his left armpit as well. His saber would fall from his hand as an agonizing scream escaped from the Jedi's lips. His hand hung limp, the bone and tendons that allowed him to move it having been destroyed. Yet through the pain, he would reach down again, with his other arm. He wouldn't stop, couldn't stop.

That was until that first opponent of his finally landed a stun shot on his chest.

Collapsing backwards, Laeonas' bright, aquamarine eyes were left wide open as he lay on the battlefield. He couldn't move, yet his mind battled against unconsciousness. Internally he screamed and yelled and cursed as loud as he could, while externally, his lips would twitch just slightly. His right leg was gushing blood, small pools forming under his calve and thigh-- which if left unattended would only get worse.

And so, Laeonas Tannaras, last defender of Lothal, Jedi, allowed himself to slip into unconsciousness. Whether or not he'd ever wake, and where, was entirely dependent on what his opponents chose to do with him.

Gett'se watched two his three shots hit their mark. Or, at least hit a mark. The bolts blasted his leg and saber hand, and Gett'se watched the man fall to the Mand'alor's stun bolts over the rim of his scope. Another Jedi down. His earlier words summed up the situation. The day belonged to the children of Mandalore.

The surrounding battle died down and came to an end as the Lothalian troopers surrendered, retreated, or died. Spotting the Jedi's lightsaber laying near his foot where it had rolled from his deadened grip. Stooping down he picked up the sorcerer's weapon with his left hand. Just a simple hilt with no blade. His gloved thumb rubbed along the metal casing until it found the activation switch, where it rested heavily for a moment as he considered activating the Sorcerer's blade.

He hung the lightsaber from his belt, letting it ride his left hip as he turned and walked to the boy Jedi he had stunned. He stripped the sorcerer's gloves from his hands, holding them up to inspect them. His comlink lit up in his helmet as he eyed the gloves and he quickly stuffed them in a pouch on his belt. Vizsla forces were pursuing the retreating Lothalian force as it abandoned the city. Their orders were to drive the enemy hard, force them to fight every inch of their flight.

Letting his finger hover over the activation button for his jetpack, Gett'se turned his head and looked across the field of battle for a moment. Just a moment. He had walked with people, like these, in a different life. Protected them by hunting down their criminals. It had always been for the clan though, for the currency earned, a majority going to support the clan. He had walked among them, but he had never been one of them. He stood above, he realized now. Watching his brothers and sisters pick among the dead, alive and victorious he felt both great pride and great sadness.

He watched, for a moment.

Just a moment.

Gett'se finished his button press and rose into the sky. He joined his clan in the hunt as they chased down the native soldiers, ignoring the pang he felt in his chest for every bolt he put through an aruetti's back.

/End.
