Name: The Sons of Mandalore (The Mandalorian Rebels, the Mandalorian Revolutionaries)

Intent:
This will serve as the foundation of the Mandalorian Faction. This will begin with the formation of the Mandalorian Rebellion, a movement to be addressed in story and plot development. This rebellion will lead to what will become known as the official Mandalorian faction in this timeline. This serves as an established faction for those that wish to partake in Mandalorian culture, stories and explore interactions with other factions.

The primary intent of creating this as a faction is to bring together a cohesive unit of players that share a common goal. That goal can range anywhere from wanting to play a Mandalorian specifically, or being a part of a familial setting. The structure of the Mandalorian faction is unique in the sense that it is broken into houses/clans and ties formed by lineage. This is what sets the faction apart from unaffiliated independent characters that simply originate from Mandalore.

The intent of this faction’s plots and storylines will be to grow it to be a dominant player in the timeline. With a cohesive unit of players under one shared vision and structure, we hope to offer a bigger involvement and role in the war. The opportunity to form stories with other direct members with Mandalorian origin will help foster an ecosystem for players that’s well grounded and established.

Goals: The removal of the weak Mandalorian government by replacing it with a government which values traditional Mandalorian values; the unification, strengthening, and expansion of the Mandalorian people and their territory; to ensure the ability for the Mandalorian people to protect themselves, their prodigy, and legacy. In short, the reclamation of Mandalore, establishment of a traditional government of the people of Mandalore, by people of Mandalore, and for the people of Mandalore. And the creation of a unified Mandalorian Dominion.

History: The Mandalorian Rebels has its roots in the past several years of misdeeds and malcontent. For over two decades the people of Mandalore have been subjected to the most inept and incapable leaders. Leaders who chose to weaken Mandalore rather than strengthen it. These Mandalorians surrounded themselves with sycophants and yes-men, and then took the credit for the hard work of those below them, pretending that they had done all the work themselves. Those that spoke out were silenced. Those that resisted were removed. And those that challenged them were killed in mysterious circumstances.

Even the defense forces grew weak under their care, the tension between the clans and houses began to grow. The Protectors, the ancient guard and police of the Mandalore's abandoned their duties, infighting grew again, and small skirmishes often broke out between the clans. Even the Mandalorian contingent to the Border Alliance wasn't as strong as it could be.

Then eleven years ago a contingent of Force Users attacked Sundari, killing a prominent Mandalorian, Gideon Vizsla, several police, and wounding more. This even displayed the prominent inability of the Mandalorian government to protect even their own planet from incursion from a hostile group. A group which actively sought out harm and mayhem against itself and its people.

During the next decade, the situation only worsened as the Mandalorian people, becoming more aware and more discontent, started to put pressure against their leaders. In response, the government used heavy-handed ploys to put down any notion of insurrection. Forcefully disbanding protests, dissolving clans, imprisoning the leaders, if not outright assassinating them.

The Sons of Mandalore were formed recently by Ral Vizsla and several like-minded Mandalorians who were tired of the current weak Mandalore's ineptitude and heavy-handed tactics to maintain control. Ral, the son of the murdered Gideon Vizsla, a surprisingly charismatic Mandalorian who had been raised since childhood to lead had returned home to unite his people and bring about a new order on Mandalore; he was tired of hearing and seeing the results of the injustices inflicted upon his brothers and sisters, and so after eleven long years returned to make a change. Finding many similar-minded Mandalorians he spoke to them of his plans to reunite Mandalore and make their home great again. These were Mandalorians who were also upset at the loss of prestige, and the weakened and vulnerable state that Mandalore was in. These Mandalorian citizen-soldiers believe that they are doing what is necessary to save their homeworld and their culture, but they won't be so foolish as to challenge the "leaders" without broad support and backing from those they wish proclaim to represent. Organization:
The Sons of Mandalore are a small force, hiding in plain sight, and using safehouses when the open is too dangerous or risky. They do not currently use bases, nor do they have a large amount of ships or warriors under their command. Their greatest tool is secrecy, and the fact that no one knows what they plan on doing. There are no true ranks other than the leaders of the rebellion and those who fight for it.

Assets:
3 corvettes, 1 frigate (Under the guise of loyalist PDF Forces)
1 squadron of dropships
2 squadrons of fighters
200 NPCs
Safehouse in the Concordian city of Es'pir

Roster:

Bardan Kryze
De'vad Kryze
Tyrin Kryze
Caedryn Vizsla
Ral Vizsla
Zevi Nora Vizsla

Cool, a Mando faction. I was wondering if there would be one of these. How come all your characters are related?

I might make a character for this. :)

Feel free to make a character! We'll be doing threads here for people interested to join! :D

And Ral is only directly related to Caedryn, Zevi is like an adopted sister because he rescued her. Can't speak to the Kryze's though other than they're from the same clan/extended family.

So a bunch of writers just decided to tie their characters together with family ties? That's cool. :)

Yeah, My Kryze is not directly related to any, other than they share the same clan. Which is a bond of sorts :)

Mhm! That's the gist of how we're having clans work this timeline. Each clan is an extended family, so if you make a character from a clan there's a good chance you'll have a (distant) relation to someone in it, or at the very least as Tsunami said, you'll be bonded together by a family tie.

It's like a trend for there to be some kind of Mandalorian faction which has to tie in with some kind of revolution or crusade etc. every single time. I for one, would argue let the Mandos have their peace where deserved.

I, for one, argue that the Sith and Jedi should make up and have pizza.

Go through and have a count of how many Mando PC's there are, i'm sure there is a large number of them. In fact I know there are a large amount of them. However, we are not a main faction, we do not start with territory, so we build from the ground upwards. Why not start by taking back are homeworld?

This looks really good @Ral . Jett is already happily tied to Czerka but might be willing to lend a hand to the cause.

Because it's Star WARS and peace just doesn't really fit very well...

It's just that in each universe, Mandos are always splinter factions (Like now) that are angry marines and wanna take back something or get revenge because of so and so reasons, because Mandalorians are all Death Watches right? It's like everyone forgets that the Mandos aren't always a race of angry marines, but it makes them look supah kewl and badass so whatever right? Honestly I'd be more hyped up to join a Mandalorian Trading Company/Faction. Mostly my main complain is that most Mandalorians I've seen refuse the status quo and keep on pressing for the 'good ol' glory days of kicking asses' instead of accepting the challenge of a peace-oriented Mandalore and playing along with it. My opinion anyway.

Peace oriented Mandalore doesn't exist in this era, that would be the future, where from what we know the New Mandalorians are just the Vocal Minority. It's always been one war or the other, with scattered peace through out. Peace, being one of the goals of the Sons, but you can't have peace with out stability and security. Hence the rebellion against a failing government and the desire for a new one and for the Mandalorians to secure what is theirs and defend it. Stuck between the Sith and the Republic being a group of pacifists concerned only with peace wont get anywhere nor be particularly interesting. We are either stuck with the myriad of Mando Wars, which are canon and lead to the rise of the New Mandos, or we be pretend New Mandos and just end up completely rehashing the plot from TCW.

Either way, the "Peace" you want to see from them, is an impossible pipe dream.

One of the NPC's in the Mando faction is literally just a chef. He can't fight. He cooks.

Just the Chef :D
Just the chef. I'm going to give y'all a quote from Terry Pratchett that sums up this circle of 'Mando Death Watches':

“But here's some advice, boy. Don't put your trust in revolutions. They always come around again. That's why they're called revolutions.”
Terry Pratchett, Night Watch

Most Mandalorian writers don't wanna break free from the ways of, 'Mandalorians are all badass warriors and nothin' else' because that's the most convenient way of making them look interesting. It's like no one considers any other choices than making the Mandalorians look like underdogs of Big Bad Mo' Fo'ing conquerers.

Give me a Mandalorian Medical Faction that goes around helping the underdogs of wars with medical assistance and rooting out corruption in local governments. I'd go for that.
