THE RETRADE FLEET

Led my Underlord "Admiral" Tsu Ordan, the Retrade Pirate Fleet has evolved from a group of rag-tag pirates to a well-organized division of the Retrade funded by private businesses and galactic governments alike. It is the fist of the Retrade, the greatest and most direct weapon in its arsenal, and it is constantly growing and changing shape.

Because of the evolution of corporate sponsorship and the abnormally public renown of the Retrade's space supremacy, the term 'Pirate' is gradually being dropped from the Retrade Pirate Fleet; this is not reflected in the official designation for the ships, however, which remains RPF regardless. Each of the ships, in accordance with intergalactic law are registered to a company, none of which links back to the Retrade. Most of these front companies are scattered around, some are listed as being owned by Lemonade stands by women who have been listed as deceased for nearly six thousand years. Others are listed to legitimate and current businesses that are not even aware that legally they own a military-grade vessel.

Below is a list of the 'primary' bulk of the Retrade fleet. (This is not a complete list, and does not account for 'loaners', mercenary or personal ships. Nor does this list account for fighters, bombers or small transports.)

The Keldabe is an ancient and venerable design, now recreated and downsized for commercial sale. Though it sports a lighter armament than the original and is nearly half the size, it still possesses heavy armor, powerful engines, and all the reliability and rugged toughness that MandalMotors customers have come to expect.

This ship is designed for maximum shield and armor strength, sacrificing speed for maneuverability, and attack power for a defensive advantage. The Phalanx-Class Frigate shielding gives it the same defensive power as a battle cruiser, focusing most primary power sources to the multiple shield generators. These reinforced barriers take away energy from other systems when intensified to its maximum effect, forming a protective wall in the front lines of a fleet. This makes it a perfect decoy during battles, and serves as a defensive support ship.

A redesign of the ancient Crusader Gunship, every aspect of the Mark VI has seen an extensive overhaul, though the overall structure and appearance has remained very much the same. While the stock model is equipped with ten escape pods, they are often traded for laser cannon emplacements or concussion missile launchers.

The outer hull is a thick, armored shell, leaving the interior entirely open for large, rectangular cargo pods. This open-space design can hold up to 19,000 metric tons of cargo. These highly modular pods greatly increase the speed and ease of the loading and unloading process. Not only that, but they are interchangeable with life support equipped pods, which allow the entire transport to become a personnel carrier. Many other types of pods have been manufactured, making complete conversions possible. The most prominent conversions are lander, fuel tanker, and hospital ship.

Once loaded, a magnetic shield locks any cargo pods that aren't already connected in place, while at the same time holding back the vacuum of space. A command pod is located toward the rear, near the engines, and houses a fully enclosed cockpit and a cramped crew quarters. The stock model includes space for up to forty passengers, but that feature is almost always traded for increased cargo capacity.

While the stock version is equipped with basic shielding and a low end hyperdrive, upgrades are possible at the cost of storage capacity. It is even possible to attach light weapon turrets to the exterior, though this would cause a significant power drain without upgraded or modified generators.

Visually, the Prudii appears to be a cross between two famous Incom starfighters, the X-wing and the A-wing. It was originally designed to serve in a multi-role capacity, but with the invention of the Kar'kade-class Space Superiority Starfighter, it has been relegated to a stealth and reconnaissance role. This stealth variant sacrifices armor, shielding, weaponry, and speed for an extensive array of stealth hardware and the ability to alternate between traditional fuel types and the more expensive tibanna-x without modification to the engines. The entire craft is painted a star-flecked matte black and when the stealth mode is active, the cockpit viewport tints automatically and mimics the appearance of the hull.

A much lighter cousin of the venerable Kar'kad-class Space Superiority Starfighter, the Kar'tracyn is a superb interceptor that combines speed, firepower, and reinforced armor to outperform almost every other craft available on the civilian market as well as many military grade starfighters.

    The Copperhead-class assault shuttle is designed to deploy troops into a wide variety of conditions, environments, and situations with or without atmosphere. It is best-suited for insertions into 'hot' landing zones, as its armor and shielding enable it to withstand small-arms fire and its weapon system enable it to clear the zone for its troops.

    In situations of critical emergency, response time can mean the difference between losing an asset and gaining one. An immediate, decisive strike can often prevent a more serious catastrophe. It is in these circumstances that the Retrade's Rapid Response Team is dispatched.

    Kept on retainer for emergency deployment, the Rapid Response Team is a hand-picked selection of soldiers meant for surgical strikes in tactically delicate situations.

    SIZE:

    ARMAMENT:
    Equipment selection is up to the operators and their CO. All forms of weaponry is authorized and powered armor is encouraged.​

  • GROUND RECON/ASSAULT MILITIA
    [GRAM]
    UNDER THE COMMAND OF PRIME EXECUTIVE LORELEI MELRAVA

    After the Retrade-Hutt confrontation on Nal Hutta and Nar Shaddaa that led to the loss of Retrade presence in Hutt space, the necessity of a dedicated ground force became apparent beyond the capacity of E-SEC. As such, a training program was developed on Dantooine and Ryloth to train and recruit a committed fighting force that could act in response to hostile threats to Retrade planetside assets.

    Some militiamen live within their assigned enclave, but all must dwell near a Retrade-approved rally point or staging area unless otherwise authorized.

    SIZE:
    Between 100-300 militiamen onsite per fully-established enclave​

    ARMAMENT:
    • MAGDUS AC-31 Assault Carbine
      [This weapon, produced by the Retrade-owned manufacturer Pondervan Interplanetary, is used for its incredible versatility and modularity, allowing GRAM forces to be fine-tuned per deployment as well as role differentiation while using the same weapon and ammunition as fellow brothers-in-arms. Its expense is considered a worthwhile investment.]
    • Larboard CX-C1 Heavy Pistol
      [Standard issue sidearm for all militia forces, the Larboard CX-C1 provides a solid balance of size, power, and capacity for its shooter. Its general issue color changes per deployment but is most often matte black, flat dark earth, or OD green.]
    • Medium-grade duraplast-based combat armor and helm with standard HUD configuration

  • ENCLAVE SECURITY
    [E-SEC]
    UNDER THE COMMAND OF LOCAL ENCLAVE UNDERLORD

    Managing the security of each facility and its inhabitants, as well as access control and internal policing, E-SEC is a staple of enclave operations. Fully trained and geared for combat roles if necessary, E-SEC is prepared to defend each enclave and its inhabitants with equal ferocity of a ground militia, but lack the numbers and the specialized extensive force-on-force training undergone by militiamen.

      [This pistol replaced its precursor, the Larboard P-10/20 Pistol, upon being recently released as a more versatile and efficient weapon. For most E-SEC officers of base rank, they are issued only this sidearm along with policing gear such as wristcuffs, a report/uplink datapad, a commlink, and a stun baton.]

  • FLEET BOARDING FORCE
    [FBF]
    UNDER THE COMMAND OF ADMIRAL TSU ORDAN, LEASED TO THE CAPTAIN OF ASSIGNED VESSEL

    On every ORF vessel meant for ship-to-ship combat, there will be a contingent of FBF 'pirates'. These men specialize in low- or no-atmosphere combat and in all forms of ship-boarding. They are heavily trained in CQC under rigorous conditions, and most come from a lifestyle of fight-or-die in situations very similar to their future deployments.

    SIZE:
    Varies with size of ship; between 1-2 parties of 10 per freighter, to 30 parties per capitol ship.​

    ARMAMENT:
    • IsoQuanta QBL-H Heavy Battle Rifle
      [The primary weapon of boarding parties, used when no-gravity conditions are involved, sports a massless projectile that gives the user zero recoil, allowing for normal use without gravity.]
    • MAGDUS S-04 Scattergun
      [A long-time favorite of Retrade pirates, the MAGDUS S-04 provides devastating firepower at the typical range of encounter during boarding confrontations. It is sometimes replaced with the MAGDUS AC-31 CQC Carbine for greater versatility during combat. Many boarding parties prefer a portion of members to have greater range capability. Either way, the weapon is considered secondary and is only for use once the party has boarded the interior of the target ship; until then it remains strapped to their back.]
    • Larboard CX-C1 Heavy Pistol
      [Standard issue to most Retrade soldiers, this pistol's addition to the FBF arsenal ensures that it sees action on all forms of battlefield across the galaxy.]
    • Up-armored/militarized DSO NV-1 Pressure Suit
      [This suit has been privately adapted and fitted with a new helm for greater head coverage and new plating constructed of a duraplast/kevlar composite and hardened duraplast plates.]

Hitting a werker will result in a bagillion credit fine and up to ten years in my disfavor.

The Copperhead's thick armor, military-grade shields, and heavy armaments make it the Retrade's preferred assault craft when dealing with surface-to-air threats. It is meant to deploy troops into hot zones, and is designed to be most effective against ground forces; while it can respond to airborne threats as well, it is not engineered for it and can be trumped by more nimble fighters that also have the power to punch through its shields.

The KLOWN MkII fulfills the role of mobile artillery on the battlefield, provided through a Retrade associate company. It plays an important role in battlefield dominance on the rare occasion that the Retrade is forced to take open ground against an enemy.
