"Here's why you can't exterminate us, aruetii. We're not huddled in one place—we span the galaxy. We need no lords or leaders—so you can't destroy our command. We can live without technology—so we can fight with our bare hands. We have no species or bloodline—so we can rebuild our ranks with others who want to join us. We're more than just a people or an army, aruetii. We're a culture. We're an idea. And you can't kill ideas—but we can certainly kill you."
―Mandalore the Destroyer

-Preamble-
This is intended to be a faction where other clans/group/parties/cults of Mandalorians can join without having to worry about creating their own Faction/Clan and maintaining the prerequisite number of PCs in order to stay active. It is also aimed at pooling the remaining Mandalorian resources (few such as they are) into one single group instead of breaking it all up into several small clans. The idea is to give a faction where Mandalorians who wish to be a part of a larger clan (Fett, Skirata, Ordo, etc.) or a smaller/minor clan of their own making (or the clanless) can all join and do things that Mandalorians are known for. My hope is that this will increase and unify Mandalorian activity and bring the clans some focus both OOC and IC as they try to rebuild and survive in the Post-Genocide Galaxy. This is to simplify things in an OOC perspective for Mando players and clans so they can focus on doing Mando things and having fun. It is my intention to run this faction as both an independent group of Mandalorians and as an integral ally of the Rebellion much like how Clan Ordo is.

-History-

"Violence, naked force, has settled more issues in history than has any other factor, and the contrary opinion is wishful thinking at its worst. Breeds that forget this basic truth have always paid for it with their lives and their freedom."
-
Starship Troopers, Robert A. Heinlein
After Sisk Renelo's failed attempt to unify the Mandalorian clans under his rule and his untimely death on Zigoola, the Mandalorian named Ral Aran, one of the self-styled Mand'alor's lieutenants, took command of clan Renelo becoming its provisional Aliit'alor. Wishing to strengthen his position and ensure his clan's survival, Ral sought two Mandalorians. The first was the venerable and respected Aliit'alor of the clan Bralor, Echoylir Bralor, the second was Sisk's other lieutenant, the young, but fiery Inga Kelborn of clan Kelborn. Through calm and diplomatic means, Ral obtained both leaders' support and willingness to join with Ral and Renelo in a unified faction of Mandalorians. With those two clans, Ral plans on searching out the other clans and gathering others to join them with the same hope of survival and prosperity.

So, with the support of clans Kelborn and Bralor, Ral estrablished Te Atiniiryc Kisol, or the Enduring Few in basic. The title was taken from Mand'alor Vencu's separatists during the Civil War, and no aptly applied to the Confederacy of Mandalorian clans they were attempting to form. The rest, as they say, is history...

"I think it's significant that the casualty rate among commando squads trained by Mandalorians is lower than those trained by other races. Somehow, Mandalorians imbue their charges with a sense of purpose, self-confidence, and almost obsessive sense of clan—of family—that gives them a genuine survival advantage. Let us be thankful they're on our side this time."

-Purpose-
In Ral's mind the best chance for survival and propagation of their culture was to avoid suicidal attacks on the Imperium out of revenge or spite, and instead return to their roots as wanderers, nomads, raiders, and the like. By returning to the roots of civilian-soldiers, Ral believed they could grow and cultivate their culture and next generation of Mandalorians. His intent was to play both sides of the coin, combining the ancient Crusaders nomadic ways, with simple layperson lifestyle that many Mandalorians had known during times of peace. By doing this, he would advance the cause twofold: he would establish homes and outposts for his people when they wished to settle down, places to raise family and recruit new members into the clans; as well as rekindling the infamy and recognition the ancient warrior-nomads had once known. This would give the remaining clans a way of proving themselves in battle against warlords, despots, mercenaries, and pirates, or even doing a bit of mercenary and pirate work for themselves gaining acclaim in the Galaxy at large as warriors once again with the hope of recruiting through fame. Then with their fame (or infamy) earned they could return to their homes and raise and train the younger warriors of their clans.

Of course, Ral had no intention of abandoning the Galactic Rebellion as both he and Echoylir were members of the resistance movement and wished to rid the Galaxy of the Empress and her Sith, and so he devised a way to both unify the clans as well as support the so-called freedom fighters. Arranging it so that his coalition of clans would support the Rebellion with their warriors and ships, the Rebellion in turn would support the clans where it could. This would give the clan members who wished to attack the Empire and claim vengeance for the Genocide an outlet for such desires, as well as the opportunity to strike at those who wronged them under the purview of the larger resistance. In addition, Ral and the other clan leaders could train up their warriors and gain much needed supplies and support from the Rebellion.

Overview

Clan Bralor is one of the many extended family units that make up the Mandalorian culture. The Clan's formation is a long forgotten element of Mandalorian history. What is known that the Clan came to prominence under the reign of Mandalore the Preserver, with a Field Marshal only known as 'Bralor' becoming the Solyc Al'akaan, or Warmaster, second only to the reigning Mandalore.

Since then, while Clan Bralor has always been a clan who's fortunes have waxed and waned over the millennia since the Taung's pilgrimage to Mandalore, they have remained stalwart supporters of Mandalores in the past, a sturdy pillar of strength that the reigning Mand'alor could always rely upon. The Clan's population puts it among the smallest of the large clans, with just over 265 people under it's banner, spread thinly across the Clan's domain, the Norg Basin. This, however, does not stop the Clan from being hired en masse to wage war in the name of an employer, a practice that persisted even to the Clan's darker moments in history, when they could muster no more than a few dozen warriors.

Bralor has always boasted able shock troops and combat engineers among it's ranks, with many of it's warriors taking up artisan skills on top of their skill at arms. While like any Mandalorian Clan in that it's members are scattered far and wide across the breadth of Mandalorian space, the Clan has been oddly centralised in the last few hundred years, with the Clan's fortunes seeing a resurgence after the opening of two new beskar mines in 786ABY and 823ABY respectively, seeing a rebuilding effort for the Clan's ancestral abode, Norg Bral. These mines, however, proved to be a false hope. They ran dry due to overmining in 998ABY.

The Clan Wars [ 1,013ABY to 1023ABY ]

Under the leadership of Carien Bralor, one-time Mandalore and Warmaster, Clan Bralor grew rapidly, recruiting actively amongst the refugees of Rothana, and their allies within the Verpine, as well as orphans of war from their campaign in the Core, the ranks of both Bralor and the Mandalorian people as a whole expanding thanks to this and much glory was had in the name of conquest, with multiple astonishing victories, such as Alaskan and several battles around and on Coruscant ( including the storming of the Senate building ), were attributed to Clan Bralor's bravery and skill at arms.

After the death of Corden Vencu and the following brutal civil war between the Mandalorians, Clan Bralor retreated back home to Norg Bral, where they did their very best to keep out of the battles, claiming neutrality, but even they suffered casualties, other Clans invading and besieging Norg Bral for refusing to acknowledge their supremacy or to gain access to the Clan's depleted beskar mines in the vain hope of securing more of the precious material. One of these battles left a permanent mark on Mandalore. An emerging warlord, a former Protector no less, whom had rallied several minor clans under their banner, assaulted Mandalore and managed to capture Keldabe, turning the ancient fortress city and sole spaceport into his stronghold, and using it as a staging ground for his campaigns north against Clan Bralor and Clan Russan to the south, based in Sundari.

Outnumbered by a massive margin, Clan Bralor relied on the thick walls of Norg Bral, the natural defences of the Norg Basin, and the harsh winters to resist the invaders. Even with modern technology, moving troops through the thick forests of Northern Mandalore during the exceptionally harsh blizzards and winter storms is an exceptionally challenging prospect, with ice and snow interfering with sensors and repulsor drives, and challenging both walkers and tracked and wheeled vehicles, and making movement by foot nigh impossible. Bralor took full advantage. Snipers, sabouteurs, hit-and-run attacks by Bralor's warriors, which included the very last surviving members of the ori'ramikade, or Supercommandos, of the once great Clan Vencu.

Clan Russan suffered badly, ultimately being wiped out to a man by the invading forces when an infiltrator entered under the pretence of peace to detonate an atomic warhead, destroying the vast majority of the ancient cube-city, along with any chance of good will towards other clans from Clan Bralor, who have never forigven the dishonourable actions taken to eliminate their souther counterparts.

But even with the mighty walls of Norg Bral and the harsh winter, Clan Bralor could not outlast their opponents forever, which they knew quite well. The key to holding Mandalore was Keldabe and it's spaceport. Without Keldabe, their enemies could not land troops in any sufficient numbers to invade and hope to hold the planet, the city's warehouses and workshops contributing significantly to the invader's ability to maintain logistics. But Clan Bralor lacked the equipment and manpower to break the siege of Norg Bral on their own, let alone besiege and capture Keldabe.

Instead, a small group of volunteers of Bralor and Vencu members captured an enemy shuttle and used it to infiltrate Keldabe, with the aim of assassination or sabotage. As luck would have it, the kill-team managed to line up a kill-shot on the Claimant who so vehemently and loudly proclaimed his status as 'The One True Mandalore' and removed him with a single shot. This brave team, led by the Bralor clan leader, Echoylir, was forced to fight for their lives to escape, destroying many buildings and important infrastructure during a six day running battle as the invading force distintergrated into petty squabbling and bickering over who would take over.

The aftermath of the Siege of Mandalore showed the cost. Dozens of smaller clans had been wiped out or sold into slavery. Sundari was a ruin and Keldabe bears the scars of the battle to this day and Norg Bral is barely habitable. The areas around the Mandalorian homeworld are rife with glory hungry pirates and raiders, who still range far and wide to attack any whom they percieve to be weak despite best attempts at 'peace' enforced by Clans that Bralor has a very dim view of, regarding them as vultures swooping in to claim fake and undeserved glory over the bones of the dead.

As of the current date, after suffering in the Claimant Wars, Clan Bralor remains private, keeping to itself. It doesn't involve itself in attemps to govern the brushfire wars that spark over Mandalore, fought by numerous clans and bands of Mandalorians out for their own gain. The Clan keeps to itself within it's fiefdom, welcoming any who would come with no ill-intent, but ensuring that visitors stayed only for a short time. The reigning Clan leader, Echoylir Bralor, has no intent, will, or desire to see his Clan drawn into meaningless conflict over perceived power, over meaningless concepts such as 'Honour' and 'Glory', concepts that have resulted in catastrophic loss of life.

Clan culture

Clan Bralor has always held true to the classical ideals of Mandalorian culture. Courage, strength through challenge and battle, self improvement through strife and honourable conduct as set down in the Resol'nare and Supercommando Codex, the modernised version of the original Canons of Honour written by the Taung millennia ago.

The Clan holds onto is the practice of using simple colours to denote rank during battle, with the Clan having adopted the Neo-Crusader practice from ages past. Bralor warriors are highly visible on the battlefield, but this only spurs them on to greater glories and uniquely remain the only Clan to strictly maintain this level of reigmentation.

Bralor's were once universally gregarious, welcoming to all fellow Mandalorians, with a reputation for being great hosts. The brutal and bloody fighting during the Claimant Wars changed this, molding the Clan in the furnace into something altogether darker and pragmatic. A saying is oft repeated among the clan these days: 'Honour and Glory do not put food on the table'

First to Rise, Last to Fall

Clan Kelborn is one of the surviving Mandalorian clans left after the fragmentation of the clans during the Third Galactic Civil War. It is an ancient clan that first entered the chronicles of the Mandalorian histories during the dark times following the Mandalorian Wars. Kelborn has been a small clan that prefers to play behind the scenes. Their last known exploit was during the Mandalorian Civil War, when Kelborn sided with the Loyalists alongside members of Clan Skirata, Veshok, and Solus. Thought to have been destroyed during the Mandalorian Civil War, Kelborn retreated to the untamed planet of Circ'yiam, a cold planet of fjords and ice plains. It has been in isolation for the past ten years, seeking to achieve honor by hunting the vicious wildlife rather than returning to the galactic scale. Led during this time by Jarmouth Kelborn, Clan Kelborn established a thriving community with other formerly Loyalist clans. With the death of Jarmouth Kelborn and the ascension of his daughter Inga Kelborn as chieftain of Clan Kelborn, the clan is about to enter a new era.

Clan Ordo

Tradition. Those on the outside would see it as a crutch, a binding force that prevents the Mando'ade from becoming anything more than war mongering barbarians. They are ignorant to the truth, blinded by their lack of understanding and unwillingness to do so.

Mandalore's death was like a powder keg, blasting the Mando'ade asunder and driving us against those who we once called brother. Many saw it as an opportunity for power, something that would have been unheard of in years past. From their jungle fortress hidden within Dxun's harsh environment the Skyblade clan watched as their fellow Mandalorian's tore themselves apart. The sickening sight only worsened by the apparent abandonment of the Resol'nare. Clan's waged war over petty resources, allowing the great Mandalorian armies and Navies to fall apart. Even the border watch faltered, allowing Sith forces to swarm into the Mandalore sector. Their firebombing campaign took the lives of many more warriors, driving the death tole ever higher. Though they were successfully driven from the sector the action effectively quarantined the majority of Mandalorian space from the rest of the galaxy. All of these actions were driven not by tradition, but by greed and a lust for power. It seemed as if a darkness had crept into the Mandalorian people, something that clan Skyblade wanted no part of. Unfortunately for the small clan they would have no choice.

Months prior to the death of Mandalore and the beginning of the second Mandalorian civil war clan Skyblade sought to aid its ancient brothers of clan Ordo. The war had ravaged the once mighty clan and secrets of Imperial involvement in their previous leaders disappearance only brought ire upon the weakened ranks. Returning home from war they found their homeworld already the target of other more aggressive clans, unable to muster the forces to retake their home clan Ordo found themselves without purpose or a place to go. That changed with the ushering in of a new Skyblade alor, one who sought unity with clan Ordo to strengthen both peoples so that they might weather the coming storm together. They unofficially united only days after the fall of Coruscant and formally joined together when the remnants of clan Ordo entered the Onderon system. To further strengthen their bond, both clan's decided to share the same name, as they had when Canderous Ordo originally used Dxun as the launching point for his campaign millennia ago. With this pact clan Skyblade became one with clan Ordo. Many did not agree with the union however, there were some who had wished to see the name Ordo fade into obscurity.

Malice born from the rumors swirling around Ordo's involvement with the Imperium followed the clan to Dxun, casting the same upon its new Skyblade brothers and sisters. Many came to try and destroy clan Ordo, fueled by the glory of slaying the supposed traitors and claiming their resources for themselves. The attacks came in waves, made sloppy by poor leadership from a weakened and dysfunctional military command. To the defenders it seemed more like an attack from raiders, much unlike the disciplined Mandalorian warriors they had come to expect from their former brethren. Even with such savagery the invaders were driven back time and time again, either falling to the many fierce beasts that swarmed the jungles or by the blades of clan Ordo. Eventually the enemy clans exhausted their own people in a mad grab for power, leaving several derelict ships still in orbit around the demon moon.

This kind of existence went on for a time. Ordo regained contact with the other main clans, and a relative peace within the Mandalorians that had not been seen for more than a decade set in within the Mandalorian people. Several times peace talks were attended by the Ordo Alor, seeking to improve his clans standing with the others and remove the negative stigma the clan had gained in years past. These talks were relatively successful, with the major clans joining a loosely formed coalition known within its members as the Brotherhood. Lasting peace looked like it was finally upon the horizon as well as the hope that the Mando'ade would soon begin to regain their lost glory. Unfortunately, this hope nothing more than a pipe dream.

Several members of clan Renelo bent on running the Imperial blockade around the Mandalore system were caught during their attempted escape. Having been taken into custody, the action made the great Imperial beast stir. Darth Vereor himself was dispatched to have a Summit of peace with the loosely formed Mandalorian clans. Ordo's hope was to broker some type of arrangement that would allow the trading of good between the clans within and those that had escaped during the clan wars without having to dodge the Imperial blockade. This was not to be however, as several of the other clan Alors who were too set in their honor and pride made a mockery of the Sith Lord's attempt for peace. The Summit shattered, the talk of peace falling apart as quickly as the meeting had come together. Each clan once again going their separate ways, it would seem that a darkness was soon to befall them all.

Ordo's Alor, who was of a predatory mindset knew the Sith would not take such insult lightly and when several of the other clan's communications went dark, he knew death had come for them all. This theory was validated when a newly regained member of clan Ordo, a Jon Viggo, had a message sent to Ordo's Alor. This message read only one thing. Invert Reaper Protocol ASAP. To anyone outside of the clan it would have meant nothing. To the members of clan Ordo it meant hell was coming for them. With haste they readied what ships they had, loading them to capacity with whatever they could carry. Ordo had no choice; it was either leave their jungle home, or face oblivion at the hands of the Sith. Even still many chose to ignore the evacuation order, deciding to stay with the place of their birth and ride the coming storm regardless of the outcome.

With a heavy heart, Ordo was forced to leave their ancestral home. A place that had been their sanctuary for countless millennia now heralded their doom should they have chosen to stay. Their Alor would not allow such a travesty to go unanswered however. A frigate which had orbited the demon moon since the clan wars was their only chance of giving their enemy a taste of their anger. For the time it slowly drifted across Dxun's sky, it had been used by Ordo as a mobile gun platform to dissuade any unwanted visitors. It's reactor core had been heavily damaged, any attempt to reactivate it potentially causing a catastrophic meltdown. Loading it up with munitions, removing its shield generator and charging some of the warriors who chose to stay with the task of preparing the reactors to activate, Ordo fled the Onderon system. Though they would not witness the battle, a message had been left by their Alor for the Sith invaders, one filled with the malice of a people robbed of everything they owned. Once the one sided battle commenced, the frigate's reactor was activated. Causing a chain reaction that utterly destroyed it, a nearby Hyperion class battleship, and severely damaging several others in the immediate area.

For several weeks Ordo wandered the stars in search of a new planet to call their own. One that was outside of the reach of the Sith, were they could heal their wounds and begin anew. They found such a place in the outer rim, almost as far out as the star charts allowed. A small world by the name of Vestar would be Ordo's new home. Largely uninhabited, the planet's native populous had been wiped out by the original Galactic Empire long ago. It suited the people of clan Ordo, reminding them of their forever lost home. They chose to scuttle one of their few remaining corvettes, converting the vessel into a new home within the vast Vestar rainforest. The shield generator that had been taken from the damaged frigate was used to shield the new compound from aerial attacks, using the corvettes existing power supplies to fuel it and what weapons remained.

Life would be hard for Ordo. Removed from their home and forced to live of a foreign world, their Mandalorian zeal would be put to the test in a galaxy bent on their utter destruction.

Clan Compound

Dxun_jungle_concept_for_KotOR_II.JPG

The newly formed compound is the scuttled remains of one of the few remaining Shukala class Corvettes within Ordo's possession. Its relatively large crew capacity and storage space making it ideal for living quarters for the small clan. The corvettes weapons and shield systems are still quite operational, even more so due to the deactivation of the ships engine and life support systems. A shield generator pulled from a heavily damaged Cuyan class Frigate is used as a site wide shield generator, further protecting the small installation from orbital attacks. It remains deactivated the majority of the time, though can be brought online at a moments notice.

Once again the native flora is used as a way to protect Ordo from unwanted eyes. Shielding the bases heat signature and masking its presence from orbit. Should someone search on foot long enough they would be able to find it, though they would not live long enough to report it. The traumas dealt to Ordo have further reclused the clan, making them wary of anyone outside the clan.

Clan Structure
All are equal within the ranks of Clan Ordo, as it was when only Skyblades roamed the Dxun jungle. Even the rank of Alor, which in some clans presents almost a lordly figure to the lesser members of the clan, is more of a figure head put only in place to help settle disputes and add an unbiased voice in arguments. The Alor is also a liaison for the clan as a whole, acting in the clans interest as a whole when away from home. This job as a diplomat of sorts is shared with all members of clan Ordo however, being that one speaks for all. This does not mean combat prowess is ignored however, those who have shown their abilities are held in a somewhat higher regard, although they gain no special privileges outside of the norm. This strategy is meant to breed out those who seek to gain power through rank, only actions speak within clan Ordo.

Falling back to the ways of the hunter clan Ordo's military strength lies not in brute force and firepower, but in stealth and misdirection. Tracking prey without their knowledge of your existence is key to a successful hunter, the same logic follows every Ordo onto the battlefield. Emerging without warning and striking clean and without mercy.

Clan Renelo
Masters of Stealth
Infiltrators and Commandos
latest
Clan Renelo is a relatively new clan having been formed only within the last fifteen years by the Mandalorian Protector Sisk Renelo from the remnants of the Protectors that he led. The clan's history is filled with tragedy and loss. From the original dissolution of the Protectors, the bombardment of Mandallia, to the flight to the stars, the Warriors of Renelo are no stranger to hardship. After losing their Alor to the Empire and their Al’verd to his own quest for blood the Clan did whatever was needed to survive. From bounty hunting to mercenary work to paid gladiatorial combat the Warriors of Renelo looked after their own, wherever they were. When Sisk sent word of his return and his rescue by the Rebellion through encrypted channels, Marcus gathered the Clan and they left Hutt Space, following the coordinates provided by their leader. After two long years, the Clan was once again whole. Sisk’s first act upon his return was to declare a new mandate. To avenge those cut down in cold blood by their oppressors. They would operate where the Rebellion could not. Do the things that they could not. There was nothing the Clan would not do to rid the galaxy of the scourge that had overcome it. The Shadows would be their closest ally, the darkness their home.
Since the death of Sisk Renelo during the raid on Zigoola, clan Renelo has undergone several changes to its form, purpose, and structure. It is no longer the Clan that they were before the treacherous attack on the Mandalore Sector by the Empire. Driven from their homes by the sneak attack of the Imperial Fleet, Renelo has become a Clan of only one purpose.

Survival.
Under the leadership of Ral Aran, the clan had changed again in order to sustain itself in the long term. Ral has chosen to allow most of the clan to settle down and start families in order to rebuild their number. To ensure their warriors had better odds at surviving in battle, Ral changed the combat doctrine of the clan placing a greater emphasis on commandos and infiltrators as well as specialized scouts. The purpose of these changes is to ensure the clan has the tactical, and if possible the strategic, advantage when they strike allowing them to do maximum damage in the shortest amount of time while sustaining minimal casualties. During his attempts to strengthen his clan Ral has taken many of the lost and clanless warriors under his banner, as well as Mandalorians from shattered or near exterminated clans.

@Ral Aran

Clarify for me the military assets. I assume it to be the sum total of what each faction independently owns, yes?

That is correct. Renelo currently has 4 Shukala, 3 Haranov, and around 200 Mando NPCs with I think like 7 kids (3 of them being Sisk's). Bralor has 30 warriors and 5 kids (that are armored up), 6 Snubfighters, 3 Kom'rk Fighter-Transports, 2 Bombers, 4 Jai'galaar Dropships, 2 Basilisk War Droids as their faction page states unless they lost more in which case Silverface needs to inform me that their assets have been reduce. The extra Mandos, and the modular transport would be some of the assets we thought up Inga's branch of Kelborn would have plus a few extras from recruitment we might have gotten (Ral had been going around grabbing Mandos if the eclectic showing of non Renelo Mandos is any indication).

These clans would be unifying under one banner and not a loose association, yes? @Ral Aran

That's the impression I got from talking to people (correct me if I'm wrong guys). Since it seemed better OOC to unify under one banner and IC that it would make survival easier since we could pool resources and have strength in numbers/share experience, etc.

Approved w/ Conditions

The Faction must operate as a single unit. The independent faction histories are just that, history. Consider it a new era for the Mandalorians and make the best of it you can.

Agreed, it will. Histories are mostly for fluff and if someone new wished to make a Mandalorian belonging to those clans they could have easy access to some of their history, not to indicate that a clan is separate or different or otherwise not part of the whole getting to do its own thing.

Bralor's contributions are up to date, the old Bralor faction page isn't. The number of assets + warriors I told Ral is accurate given events that've occurred for the clan.

So, Ral, let's get the ball rolling.
