The Independent Assault Unit
A semi-autonomous sub-faction of the Corporate Alliance​

What is it?
The Independent Assault Unit (IAU) is a small band of mercenaries that carry out raids, attacks, rescues, escorts and various other missions for paying customers, such as the Accord, the Hutts, the Mandalorians and many more. Many of the members have had pasts in fields, such as Bounty Hunting, which is a desirable skill. What sets the group apart from others is that it is not aligned to one side, but rather works for whoever is willing to pay the price. Membership is kept to a minimum to maintain trust for each other and for efficiency (More money for each person might also be a contributing factor).

Intent
To create a combat group that is available to anyone, provided they have the credits, so that both missions can be carried out against other factions without them knowing who sent the attack, and so that factions can have combat support in battles, such as the Battle of Coruscant; A faction that doesn't care about what is going on in the galaxy, just how many credits they are paid.

Roles
Ranks are not really something that we have in the IAU, as we see each other as equals, which helps with the trust. Instead, we have roles:
Leader - While still seen as being equal to everyone else, they are allowed to give orders to others on the battlefield and make important decisions for the group.
Pilot - The person(s) that fly the ships and are masters in their field, a lot of the time.
Sniper - Someone who is content with hanging back, away from the front line and picking off targets from afar.
Heavy Gunner - A member carrying a big blaster and special equipment.
Trooper - The bog-standard member of the IAU, carries a blaster and is not afraid to get their hands dirty in combat.

sounds like a contractor/hiring firm where mercs and new peeps can try work for a wage and then if the larger factions like what they've got they can hire them on directly.

Through my weary eyes, I think I get the gist of what you're saying @Darasuum . Basically it's a group of mercs that people can hire to do stuff for them- assaults, rescues, escorts etc.

So i would like to pop in and say i started the Mandalorians out with a similar idea to this, the mercenary faction Ha'rangir's Chosen. I can say the idea has merit, especially if you are willing to pvp and do espionage.

You would become a sub-faction of Norb's faction, thus all that would be would be an expansion of his faction, which I can approve if all parties desire.
