It would be fair to point out that a non force sensitive person wouldn't deflect blaster bolts very well and would lose to a force sensitive with equal training due to senses and powers. You're much better off with a blaster.

As seen in TFA between Kylo and Finn so Points to you Bauren! :D

but yeah but the point is that a non force sensitive is not restricted from using a lightsaber any more :D

I noticed that all the trilogies are like each other.
Episode 1: Legendary force-sensitive found on a desert planet that helps destroy the blockade.
Episode 4: Legendary force-sensitive found on a desert planet that helps destroy the Death Star.
Episode 7: Legendary force-sensetive found on a desert planet that helps destroy the Starkiller Base.

I'm laaaate to the party BUT here's my thoughts, and they pertain mainly to EP7 but also pertain to the next two films in the trilogy.

Disclaimer: I'm not at all unhappy with the new episode, Rogue One, and also upcoming episode 8. In fact, they were great movies, and episode 8 could very well be just as good. My question is, could they have been better? I've seen a few videos and interviews recently on Mark Hamill talking about the new trilogy, and in quite a few of those interviews he didn't agree with the script for Episode 7, especially the parts near the end where neither Mark's chsracter nor Carrie's character were present for Solo's, uh,
death.

And I could agree. In my opinion, maybe someone else could have directed, perhaps one of the original cast members. They could have provided a bette outlook and taken their characters where they felt that said characters SHOULD have gone.

Thoughts? Again, I'm not hating on the new trilogy so pls no ban.

~THE FORCE AWAKENS SPOILERS BELOW~

tbh i didn't really enjoy tfa (i desperately wanted to, but i just didn't). Rey is sadly a pretty serious mary sue (sorry for hatin) and she somewhat destroyed the concept that force takes time to master (i mean are you kidding she just decides she has the force and viola, lets go kick some freaking sith's ass who i happen to be related to (I'm assuming they're going to bring that out later); in comparison to THE ANAKIN SKYWALKER, one of the greatest force-sensitives of all time, who took how long to get it figured out? The same can be said for Luke ~ didn't he have to train with Yoda for some time before he could use the force effectively?). They did introduce some cool characters tho, like Kylo and Poe. Captain Phasma was a disappointment ~ what she just gives up the lives of all her comrades so she isn't shot in the back? C'mon, ur supposed to be better than that. They might be able to save her if she plays a pivotal role in the next two episodes but i don't know.

and finn? he duels a supposedly-trained sith effectively for a good thirty seconds... i know, i know he's force-sensitive but that shouldn't make him be able to take on Kylo Ren.

and with kylo, shouldn't his physical pain increase his connection with the force as sith use pain and emotions as their power...?

i do like the concept for kylo ren but he really sucks. i mean snoke be like "Get Kylo, it is time... to complete his training." and kylo be like "What training?". they might fix that in episode 8 and say that he was purposely letting them live or whatever but for now it looks like he is a serious noob for someone trained by the sequels equivalent of the Emperor.

on the other hand rogue one was awesome so now i don't know what to expect from episode VIII.

i honestly do want to like it tho and sorry again for hatin...

Amen. About Kylo, maybe they'll introduce something like he's desperately trying to be a Sith but is unable to convert or something, seeing as he's so incompetent in a lot of fights. He also seems to try too hard to be evil.

I think you are making a few assumptions that don't really line up with what was presented in the movie. First of being, Kylo ISN'T a Sith. Wild right? The Sith are dead and gone, and there has been nothing to indicate that either Kylo or Snipe are Sith. As far as what's presented in the movie, he's a half trained Jedi who fell to the darkside, and is now a half trained darksider who depends on wild rage more than skill. Lacking is the cold efficiency of the Sith because, well he's not a Sith.

As far as Rey being a Mary sue... Yeah a little bit, but I quite enjoyed her fight with Kylo. She's a scrapper, but no lightsaber duelist, and it shows. Up until she lets the force guide her she is seriously outmatched, with the pain fueled Kylo (pain and the darkside being pretty much the only thing keeping him standing at that point) easily pushing her back into a compromising position. As far as the force taking time to learn, that's more of a prequel trilogy idea that was introduced later, with the original concept being more about finding your "spiritual" center and being at peace. Like was only on Dagobah with Yoda for a few weeks, maybe a month, if my memory serves. After that he didn't go back until Roth.

Agreed that Phasma was a huge let down.

On to Film's duel with Kylo. Kylo is injured, he's not at 100%. He has a grievous injury and is using the dark side to harness the pain to keep him going. Hell his mental state is probably wrecked, he just murdered his father, so the darkside is likely the only thing keeping him from having a BSOD moment as well. And he still wrecks Finn, who is a trained melee combatant.

Also yes, Kylo is basically a complete noob who had only received half training in both the dark side and the light.

Not saying you are wrong for disliking it, even though I enjoyed it, but you have a few misconceptions that might be skewing your interpretation of the movie, leading to more dislike.
