Haven smirked. kouta had forgotten that her left arm was cybernetic. Rather than fighting the grip on the mechanical elbow, Haven folded her forearm back so that kouta's wrist would be forced into an extremly uncomfortable position if he continued to hold on. With her lightsaber hand, Haven stabbed at his lightsaber which was headed towards her neck, intercepting the attack before it reached it's intended location. With her lightsaber hand's elbow now pointed towards kouta, and at a close proximity, Haven took a large step forward, throwing her weight into the shoulder barge. it was possible that Kouta's hand, which was still holding onto her cybernetic hand, might be injured if Kouta's body was thrown back, but there was no point in sparring if realism was not enforced.

And anyway, the Jedi have the best medical assistance to offer in the galaxy...

Haven's tactic was sound, she reversed the lock with he mechanical arm, Leaving Kouta in a painful position. However, The flaw came in shen she tried to charge him, the movement of Haven, Gave enoguh room for Kouta to twist his hand, sliding it down to her forearm, and ,using the force of her charge against her, Twisted the robotic arm behind her back. held his saber to her neck once again, "Close quarters is my area," he said softly, with a slight grin, "Though i admit, you are far better then many of those i have fought, and this is mere practice..."

OOC: i actually grapple in real life, so it's a pretty dangerous place for you right not lol :P

((Cool! :D, i did wrestling at school for P.E, but that's about it haha))

Laughing, Haven nodded her head. From his view, kouta would probably only be able to see her white hair and pointed ears. The rather large grin on her face was hidden. "I concede this one!" Haven called out, in a jokingly submissive manner. She had indeed lost the hand-to-hand 'brawling', and this she was willing to concede. However, kouta still needed to remember an important point. An opponent instructed in the force was unlike any other. Even when you think you've had them defeated for sure, the only thing you can 'know' for sure is that they'll come back to sting you in the ass.

Still smiling and without looking, Haven applied a quick burst of force onto Kouta's body with her left hand. Not powerful enough to injure, but the force pulse was more than competent enough to knock one onto the ground. Turning around, Haven, smiling warmly, deactivated her lightsaber and offered a hand to help kouta up if he needed one. "Hope you don't take any offense, you had certainly defeated me in graplling!" She said apologetically.

Once Haven had instructed kouta in a suitable sword form, she was sure that he would become a capable lightsaber duelist too. But before that, Haven wished to instruct and guide kouta through the applications of the force as well as the Jedi's belief system. After all, even though the Jedi were taking a more active role in the war, without guidance, what difference would divide them from the Bogan or the Hutts?

Besides, it would be much easier to comprehend the sword forms once one was in tune with the force itself.

Kouta was the victor!... on his terms... "And the master is defeated!" he joked, only for an impact to slam into his chest, sending him backwards, Rather then being knocked straight down, he rolled backwards, landing on his feel in a low position and slid backwards. "Ow..." he grunted, rubbing his chin slightly. "I still feel accomplished, You are a knight after all," he claimed, grinning.

It was nice to learn about you though." he told here, "I'm pretty good at getting to know people based on how they fight., and i believe i learned quite a bit." Kouta deativated and set down the training sabers, "So... now that we've broken the ice, what's next?"

"Next, as i had demonstrated..." Haven replied, laughing. "is what seperates the Jedi from being purely swordsman." Though many Jedi dedicated themselves to lightsaber combat, Haven thought it was safe to say that without intensive study and knowledge in the force itself, one could not truly master a lightsaber form. Nevertheless, knowing how to utilise the force purely in applications was still not truly understanding it. But Haven understood how difficult it was to truly understand and comprehend the concept. We've all been there...

Because of this, they would start with the basics. For force training, the interior of the Monastery was hardly the most ideal location. Which was why Haven, as she always did, was going to take kouta outside of the Monastery, and into the wilderness of Tython. "if you would care to join me for a walk, as i take it that you have not seen the natura landscape of Tython yet, we will begin the next stage in your training!" Haven beamed. So far, kouta had been enthusiastic, and Haven hoped that he would show as much passion and capability for force training as much as physical combat.

((realised that i kinda started the thread with Haven being new in Tython (Something that i changed), She had in fact lived at the Monastery from pretty much birth -> knighthood, and now she has returned there))

Kouta nodded, "The only land i saw on here was the overview from the freighter, and the monastery." he explained to her, "The walk will be nice." HE mentioned, Putting his shirt, and cloak back on, setting up the holder of his vibro-swords, though he had a feeling like he wouldn't be using them for much longer. "The travel will give us time to get to know each other, if you like." Kouta firmly believed that one must get to know the ones people work with. It allows the bond to grow past one of master and student.

Let us go then" HE said warmly, opening the door for haven.

OOC: lol, short post, time for transition! :D

Haven nodded, and led kouta out of the training room. Leaving the Monastery gate, they would immediately come across the luscious forest growth of the planet. The trees seemed like ancient guardians, having been rooted in their locations for thousands of years without any change.

After walking for nearly an hour, Haven and kouta reached their destination. A waterfall, not too large in size, but running with clear crystal water. There were rock formations which looked like natural stepping stones, starting from the grass banks by the river to the bottom of the waterfall. It was a place that held significance for Haven, always a place to retreat to for solace. "if you are tired at all, we can take a break if you wish, but frankly, i don't think i even need to guess what you wish to do!" Haven laughed, turning to face kouta.

Gesturing towards a few rocks by the riverside, Haven stepped towards them, raising her right hand when she stopped. A tremor in the force, and three of the rocks levitated from ground, floating towards her loosely held hand. The three rocks circled each other, their speed changing as Haven willed it to. Dropping her hand, the rocks too returned to their motionless state. "What i will first teach you, will be telekinesis. Likely one of the simplest applications of the force, but undoubtedly one of the most important facets of training. Before we begin, how much do you understand of the force and it's nature?"

Kouta walked with Haven for some time, trying to get to know her, though didn't learn much compared to what he did during their bout, still, the walk was enjoyable. "After warming up with you, then this small distance, i believe i still have some energy to spare," he chuckled softly. Turning his attention from Haven to the waterfall, Kouta felt a rush of relaxation wash over him. Never before has he been in such a tranquil place. Even the monastary didn't hold an atmosphere such as the one this simple waterfall possessed, "Beautiful," HE spoke softly, looking at haven within the scenery, speaking without thinking. Snapping back to attention he saw Haven twirling the stones, before letting them stop. Kouta's last experience with using the force... didn't pan out very well. He rolled up his sleeve, exposing his right hand and forearm, which seemed to have scars trailing up in lines to the center of the hand, "My first attempt with a telekinetic push, i became angry and put too much force into it, almost lost my arm." He explained, "You and I, seem to share physical augmentation in common," his eyes moved from his arm to her, "About half of the bones in my arm are metal, least the ones that weren't recoverable." His arm retracted within his clothing once more, "Control, i believe, is what i really need."

((Thank goodness you returned again! Thought you left again XD))

Turning to face her charge, eyebrows raised with a frown. To have done so much damage to oneself through an initial mistake... Her own story of how the entirety of her left arm was replaced with a synthetic one was rather different. indeed, it too was also during training, but it involved a malfunctioning training droid. Haven made a clicking noise with her tongue, wincing at the pain kouta's accident must have caused. "Nevertheless." Haven said, chuckling sheepishly. "i'm certain that when you try telekinesis now, no such 'extravagance' would occur!"

The mechanical parts of their arms were no inconveniences for telekinesis. The hand or any other part of the physical body was purely a 'guide' for the process. "Take a careful look at that rock now." Haven pointed, gesturing to a medium-sized, ball-like piece. "Do not let it's size deter you from your efforts. if you wish, closing your eyes might also help. Don't touch it, but mentally picture yourself lifting the rock into the air. Feel the force currents guide your actions, but respect them. The force flows through us all, for it is not simply a tool."

Stepping back to give kouta some more space for his attempt, Haven too closed her eyes, allowing herself to more closely follow kouta's actions and his presence. Eyes closed and smiling, she quickly jokingly added. "And don't make me have to heal you!"

Kouta listened to his teacher's wisdom, closing his eyes. before him, Kouta envisioned the stone. It wasn't very large, yet it could prove to be rather difficult to pick up by brute force. HE created a self image of himself approach the stone, and attempt to pick it up. Holding out his hand, Kouta did not move the rock.

He stopped, pondering what he could different, what was limiting him. After a moment, Kouta was struck by a memory, one of his old master. "with the force, there are no limits as to what you can accomplish, any feat is attainable" his master told Kouta, before he leaped, or flew, to the top of a tower on Nar shadaa. If that's true...

Kouta turned his hand over, so his palm was facing upward, and slowly started to lift his arm, though it seemed strained, the rock slowly started to lift in conjunction with his arm.

"So the force is not a tool," Kouta half stated, half asked, as he opened his eyes, "Well, that makes much more sense. At least why i couldn't use it before.

OOC: sorry! lol i was completely covered in homework, i still am really, so i may be a bit slow.

((By the way, signed us up for a mission to do. Once that gets accepted, we'll go from there :D))

Haven clapped, congragulating her Padawan for having overcomed a former obstacle. "The force is our Ally, our mentor, our 'friend in the background' if you would prefer it that way. We cannot truly understand all of it's meanings and intentions, though undoubtedly, it was the force itself that had guided yourself to this place." Haven explained, clicking her fingers while she spoke.

Making this breakthrough, Kouta had succeeded in learning the early stages of telekinesis, as well as developing his ability to detect and sense motions and presences through the force. A good start, but certainly many things to still learn. Haven stuck her thumb into her mouth, gently biting it as she thought absent-mindedly.

Kouta had shown talent in the field of hand to hand combat. it would make sense now to instruct him body and mind enchancing capabilities, as they provided a significant advantage for when Kouta would have to face an opponent himself.

"Now, relax your body, and remember the way the force had guided you moments ago. Feel the force currents surround you, then let it fill every aspect of your being. immerse yourself fully, body and mind. When you feel ready, attempt the physical drills that you as an Echani would have been taught. This technique is called force-valour, and as a future warrior for the Jedi, it would prove to be crucial."

Haven would watch Kouta perform his exercises. Once he was satisfied that he had mastered the technique, he should return to her side for the next stage in their training.

Kouta stood, His training sabers in holsters on his hip, each on their respective sides, and his vibroswords on his back held in an X shaped pattern. Slowing his breathing, Kouta closed his eyes, envisioning the surroundings as he did before. With each breath, a pulse, as Kouta inhaled, a small whip of air was drawn towards him, as he exhaled, the air was pushed away, animated by the grass and plants benting to and from Kouta in unison.

With heach inhale, Kouta could feel the force around him, being drawn into his body, when he exhaled, rather then the force leave him, it swirled, coursing through his very veins.

Kouta drew is blades, opening his eyes. His movements were much faster then before. Fusing his vibroswords he began to twirl it around him with deadly precision, his acrobatics with his blade was nothing like he was able to do before. Each and every one of his movements was fluid, and precise, like a true echani blade master. when his show was done, he looked at Haven, with a sense of gratitude, with a little bit of surprise in his eyes. "So this is how it feels, to accept the force into oneself, and to just let it flow naturally."

"This is just the beginning, but indeed. Force-users have the potential to achieve and accomplish many deeds, but unfortunately, many of them put their talents to misguided uses. As Jedi, our talents are not for personal gain or interests. We use them for the good of everyone, not simply the Republic and our designated 'Allies'. Many others may disagree with me, but believe me when i say do not let others sway you from our cause. We defend the innocent and uphold justice, and the Republic on the other hand do not always uphold the same standards." Haven advised. The time for further education in Jedi values would come soon, but for now, Haven intended for something that Kouta would definitely look forward to.

"it's getting dark, so we need to be returning to the Monastery. Before we set-off, this is another opportunity to learn another of the core force-aided capability. Similar to before, allow the force to seemingly seep through your body. This will allow you to perform physical actions at much higher efficiency as well as reserving stamina much more competently." She instructed.

"Race you back to the entrance! And remember to try the force-aided athletics! The more you practice, the more quickly you'll become comfortable to it!" Haven laughed, sprinting back into the forests that they had come from. Almost a blurr, she leaped from tree to tree, nearly flying over the fallen logs that were sprewn about the forest floor.

So even if the innocent in question was apart of another faction, say the bogan, we would defend them against our own forces?" he asked, curiosity taking hold of him about her. Before she had time to answer, however, she was gone. her speed impressive, aided with the force no doubt. Still feeling the effects of the valor Haven taught him, Kouta took of as well.

Seeing as he had some distance to catch up on, Kouta took a more... direct path. in stead of traversing around the waterfall as they had to get there, Kouta went over it. His feet lightly touching the stone as he jettisoned upward. With each breath, he took in a little more energy, like he did when he practiced valor. his energy reserved never dwindled much. Within little time he was on top of haven, his speed relatively equal, "Well this is a relaxing jog" he said, midair with a small dash forward, "I must thank you for showing me all of this, but i have a race to win" he said to her with a small grin, a salute with his right hand, and a small wink, he turned, one leg planted into the ground, and launched forward. the world around him was nothing more then a blur, yet he was able to catch the details, step where he needed to. this did take some focus though, for Kouta was concentrating the force to where he needed it the most in his body, allowing for such a greater speed. Legs for running, moving to arms when he caught a branch to shift direction, back to legs, and wherever else it was needed. Kouta already had an amazing physique, do to the life he once led, and the force seemed to just be amplifying everything he had.

Kouta never thought such a think was possible for him to do, but there was a lot he did not know when it came to the force.

Shaking her head, Haven smiled, continuing to sprint forward at a comfortable pace. Though she didn't see herself as being 'old' as such, the enthusiasm of the young was something that had left her. Nevertheless, in order to maintain Kouta's focus on this exercise, Haven put some more effort in, closing the gap between her and him. As they approached the entrance of the Monastery, Haven made a huge leap, covering far more distance than any purely athleticism based jump. Though such acts would be deemed 'amazing', force-users knew that such applications were of the most simple and straightforward ones. The force covered many fields, and this was but one of them.

Haven turneid around to greet Kouta, who presumably had reached the entrace shortly after her. "Great run huh?" She joked, bemusingly, puffing slightly. "But the reason that i wanted us to return slightly early is because there is some homework for you tonight."

Without explaining what Kouta was to do, Haven, without speaking another word, lead him through the monastery once again. Coming to a stop in front of the Armoury, it should become slightly more evident what Haven wanted Kouta to do. Entering the room, there was a myriad of shelves, all filled with different tools, mechanical parts, and most of all, containers of carefully stored lightsaber crystals.

"Tonight, you must construct your own lightsaber, or lightsabers if you are more comfortable with handling two, though that would mean some more work." Haven said, waving to the equipment and materials behind her. "Sense your surroundings. Find the crystals that resonate with yourself, then, start your work. You'll find me in the training room that we were in this morning. Be there at 8, and don't be late!"

Alas, Kouta was beaten, but not by much, a few paces at most. though as he was led into the armory, he realized what he was to do. "Before you go, Haven, i felt something coming from a cave off the path as we ran back here, If felt as if the area was... calling me. it spoke to me in a voice that was much louder then any of these crystals in here." he turned his gaze from the supplies in the room to her, "What is in that place?" he asked, if what was in there could aid him, he definitely wanted to check it out.

Before she could answer though, he was already searching through the supplies, having an idea of what he wished to create.

Haven was just about to leave, presumably for a long shower followed by a brief meal before leaping into bed. Without turning her head, so Kouta would only be able to see her white hair, Haven responded.

"You speak of the crystal cave? i'm rather surprised that you had sensed it..." She slowly replied. it was rather dark now, and one could easiily lose himself in such an environment, but Kouta seemed fairly determined.

"Very well, but do make haste. The cave contains crystals similar to the ones stored here. Perhaps you'll find one that is more in-tune with yourself..." Haven said, slightly absent-mindedly. There was something on her mind, that much was certain, but she would leave it for the morning. "Do take care." Haven turned around, giving Kouta a gentle smile.

She would be waiting for Kouta in the morning.

Kouta nodded, stepping out of the training room, and ultimately leaving the monastery. If was already dark by the time Kouta reached the edge of the forest. Having little to no vision, he made his way down the path he remembered. Kouta was traveling blind, but the call he heard from before beckoned him. The call was no doubt the force guiding his path, Kouta would go where he was meant to go. Roughly half an hour past by before he reached the cave. Knowing that there would probably be wildlife in there, Kouta activated both of his training sabers, illuminating the area around him. The cave was dark and damp, with winding passageways that grew too small for a man of his stature to pass through. Through an hour of exploring, Kouta found a passage that seemed to lead to the heart of the cave. the heart being the appropriate word. the sight Kouta beheld was beyond words, Spires of crystals jettisoned towards the roof, walls lined with formations of many a color, some of which Kouta did not know of himself. There was one formation that stuck out to him personally, though. as he approached it, Kouta observed the crystals closely, it seemed that they we're swirling on the inside, "Story of my life." using his vibrosword to crack it, Kouta collected a bountiful amount of the crystal,, placing it in his back. along with that, He collected other crystals that seemed to speak to him, as well as a color that reflected him nicely.

Packing the last of his treasures Kouta turned to leave when a slight movement caught his eye. a large bulk of what seemed like rock shifted in the background. Kouta pulled out his blades, knowing the sabers we're hardly deadly, and slowly approached it. As Kouta turned the corner for a better look, this large 'rock' burst through the formation separating them, sending Kouta rolling backwards. Scrampling to his feet as quickly as he could, Kouta was able to get up in time to put up his blades to block a large claw as it sweeped towards Kouta, The claw, massive in size, shattered Kouta's swords, and sent him through a thinner stone wall.

Kouta ran, this beast was more then a match for him, and Kouta knew it. He didn't know what it was, but it smelled of death, and the energy it gave off felt as if Kouta was being consumed.so he ran. As fast as he could, the loud stomps of the beast hunting him. Desperate, Kouta filled every ounce of his being with the force, speeding back to the monastery in record time, the beast giving up on the chase. in the main hall of this sanctuary, Kouta dropped to his knees, breathing heavily. it was there he stayed, until around midnight, where he stood, walking slowly towards the armory, each step sending a jolt of pain through his body. with the crystals in his pack and the hilts of what remained of his vibroswords in each hand, Kouta began to work. grabbing the right chassis' and lenses, Kouta couldn't figure out the battery he wished to use. The energy output must be precise, or the saber would be to weak, or worse, rupture from too much power.
it was then it dawned on Kouta, he disassembled the hilts of his blades, removing the batteries that powered the vibration cells. Putting the correct pieces in place, all was left was the focusing crystal and the color gem. he carefully cut a small piece of of each, placing them into their proper location, Kouta finished assembling his blades, turning them on. with the familiar hiss of an igniting lightsaber filling the air, Kouta beamed with pride.

it was roughly three in the morning by that time, and Kouta moved to the training room where he was suppose to meet Havok. Bruised and beaten. Exhausted from the ordeal, Kouta passed out in the middle of the floor, a twin bladed lightsaber hilt in each hand, he had some explaining to do in the morning.

OOC: well that was fun to write, and i did my research, and the beast i am refering to was indeed still alive, and on tython at that time. do you know what it is?

Haven had set her alarm for 7 o'clock. When the alarm sounded, it was met by a pulse of force that promptly reduced it to a pile of scraps. Returning to her sleep soundly, Haven smiled, unabashed. Child, teenager, adult. Hardly mattered. The only thing Haven needed for an extended period of sleep was time. A full hour and a half later, Haven sat up in her bed, her white hair messy and draped over her face. Blowing some air forward with her mouth, strands of her hair fluttered upwards, revealing her still sleepy eyes. Then, she realised her predicament, noticing the ruined clock. Swearing fairly audibly, Haven jumped out of bed, having been too lazy to change before going to sleep last night.

Reaching the training room, having checked the time during her sprint there, she was thinking of an excuse to apologise for her lateness. Realising there was no valid excuse at all, Haven sighed and entered the room. Her eyes widened, noting Kouta sleeping on the cold floor, his body fairly battered. Haven walked quickly to his side, checking on his status. Superficial wounds, must have been the exhaustion...

Tapping him not so gently on the shoulders, Haven called to his still form. "Anybody home?"

Kouta's eyes bolted open, pain shooting from his shoulder down through his ribs and into his back. What didn't show outwardly were the small hairline fractures in many of the bones on his torso. not many people can be thrown so violently through a stone wall and walk out unsaved With the adrenalin finally worn off, Kouta felt everything. Kouta coughed heavily twice and looked up at her, "H-hey" he muttered looking around, "What time is it?" he asked, only to notice Haven's hair was unkempt, and looking as if she had awakened only recently to herself, smiling slightly, "You look like you had a rougher night then i did." he playfully teased.
