Seeing the Sith advance quickly, Shalken braced himself for the Taz'goreii's attack. As the flames burst forth from the Darksider's palm, Shalken raised his left fist, conjuring before him a solid wall of pure Force energy. The Master mildly wished his brother were here, as he had superior knowledge of pyrokinesis; nevertheless, his defenses would not be penetrated, deflecting the flames into the walls and tapestries that lined the hallway. Seeing his opponent relinquish his assault, the Justicar cast his left arm forward, commanding the wall into the Sith in order to launch him down the hallway.

Advancing forward, Shalken once again grasped his blade with both hands, keeping his defensive stance. Every step he took was ground gained and conquered — ground that he would not yield.

@Dark Lord Kyle, just a heads-up: Sreeya, Phoenix, and Intratec have left the thread.

Good thing that the Taz'goreii didn't channel his flames for any significant length of time. He saw that the green flames were deflected and now the various tapestries along the wall and were lit on fire. Then the Justicar pushed the said force wall into the Taz'goreii. Xaxis'Kahal, having already brought out to be used defensively, then holds out his Kyber Staff out in front of him horiztonally. Using the properties of the Kyber Staff, which is as hard as phrik, to try and block the force wall. The Kyber Staff holds up against the wall, but Xaxis is dragging his feet as he is still being pushed backwards by the wall. He ended up being pushed two meters back before the force wall was fizzled out. Xaxis sees the Jusictar advancing. He appears to be going for an attack but still being cautious with his defensive stance. Xaxis begins to gather more power as the Jedi makes his advance as he keeps his on the Jedi. He will strike back... when the time is right.

Shalken observed the Sith's hesitation to attack with mild curiosity. Typically Darksiders often initiated attack, as they often learned the art of Juyo - but this Taz'goreii was extremely defensive, much like himself. ⁝⁝ What form does he utilize? Certainly not Ataru or Juyo, they are far too aggressive. Makashi would be an option if not for the staff he wields; duelists would be hindered by such a weapon. I must test his reactions in order to decipher his attack style. ⁝⁝ Continuing his advance, Shalken kept his defensive posture, fully aware of the amassing power building within his opponent. This Sith was a sorcerer, no doubt — his garb and staff proved as much — meaning that while he perhaps surpassed the Master with his knowledge of the Dark Side, Shalken's bladework was likely far superior.

Now only about a meter away from his opponent, Shalken unleashed a few precise, measured swings at the Sith's torso. He refused to underestimate his opponent, and discovering the Taz'goreii's attack patterns would reveal the path towards his defeat.

The Sith Sorcerer remained unmoving up until the plebeian Jedi got into lightsaber range, because he didn't need to. Xaxis then, using the power of the Dark Side he has been gathering while the Jedi came at him, then let loose a force amplified scream at his opponent just as the Jedi started his first of three swings at Xaxis. Xaxis doubts the Jedi would have expected an attack of this nature. Xaxis'Kahal used this attack on a Jedi Knight on Ziost while defending the arena to escape an otherwise fatal blow at the hands of the Jedi he was battling. The feeling of hatred fuels his attack, and innate Taz'goreii aggression further drives his scream. Xaxis'Kahal would then bring up his kyber staff up pointing it diagonally up to the right. It's ready to defend with in case the Force Scream somehow didn't stop his opponent from attacking, but at the same time it will be ready to use to go for his next attack if his scream did hit home.

Small fights were erupting all over the academy. Multicolored blades of dozens of Shadows clashed with the familiar ruby red sabers of an overwhelming number of Acolytes. The Academy was bereft of the Order’s greatest warriors, but what they lacked in skill they made up for in numbers. Thankfully, the Shadows were prepared. The obnoxious clashes were a feint. Small groups of Shadows were still carefully making their way to the generators. The Acolytes could be distracted with their attempts at heroics.

The group of Sith sent after one half of the well-known Jedi twins stumbled upon a Jedi trying some heroics himself. Five Acolytes were faced with Jalen Kron fighting all by his lonesome. They were practically salivating at the chance to kill a Jedi Knight. The 5 hooded and robed Sith charged forward. They all had one angrily glowing Lightsaber and one goal. Kill the Jedi. @Dark Lord Kyle

Just as Shalken engaged the sorcerer, his well-attuned senses detected the dark storm clouds building within his opponent suddenly break. The Taz'goreii's sudden sensory attack halted the Justicar's assault as he quickly channeled the Force to protect his ears from damage. The roar reverberated through the halls, extinguishing the green Force-flames that lapped at the curtains and setting Shalken's ears ringing and head throbbing even with his defenses up. Nevertheless, though his heel ground into the tiles of the Academy, he did not move. ⁝⁝ A Sorcerer indeed. Nevertheless, I must press the assault — his powers grant him strength at range, but he is weakest in close quarters. ⁝⁝

Knowing the Sith would not be able to execute such a powerful attack again right away, Shalken swung at the Kyber staff with a strong downward attack, angling his blade in order to slide it down the weapon towards the Sorcerer's hand. He would be forced to release his grip on the staff or risk having his hand removed.

The Jedi was unmoving with Xaxis' force scream, even with the amount of prep behind it, although he managed to shield himself from the force scream's worst effects, it wouldn't help him for long as the Jedi's concentration will be most likely impeded from his ears ringing and head throbbing. The Justicar made attack made his attack. Xaxis'Kahal, with his staff already in a defensive positon, then held up and moved his Kyber Staff to counter it while adjusting the angle of the staff to block the attack, while letting a decent amount of the force flow through his Kyber staff as well, as any Sorcerer worth his salt has more force reserves than just for two force powers.

The Kyber Staff, while it may look like a ordinary wooden stick with a red crystal on it, it has properties that make it as hard as phrik, enabling it to block that attack. With the angle Xaxis has his Kyber Staff, the hand the Justicar targeted would be safe, and the staff's crystal should be right in front of the Justicar with the bottom of the staff facing about a ten'o clock. Right after that, Xaxis would then attempt to use the Kyber Staff use it's concussive blast. It doesn't have the power behind it as the Force Scream Xaxis did earlier, but it should still be enough to knock the Justicar off his feet. If the Justicar decides to slide his blade the other direction down the staff, the staff's concussive blast should go off before that still.

Jalen wasn't surprised by the wave of acolytes that had chosen to single him out for death. It seemed all the Sith nowadays were desperately grabbing at power and attention, a sign of their faltering Empire. The young Jedi knew that it was unlikely he would be able to easily dispatch of all five advancing acolytes at once, and so he realized it was best to attempt to keep the confrontation at most a 3 on 1 at all times. With a thrust of the Knight's hand, three of the acolytes fell backwards into a pile of confusion and black robes. Meanwhile, the other two seemed unfazed by the turn of events and rushed the Kiffar, red sabers held hight above their heads in preperation for a downwards strike.

Jalen blocked the first strike with his lightsaber, and tripped the second acolyte before ending his bladelock with the first and swiftly jumping backwards. As a result of the first acolyte trying so hard to overpower the Jedi Knight, after Jalen moved his lightsaber continued downwards toward the second acolyte, slicing his body in half. One down, four to go. While the first was shocked by the move and pulled down by his momentum, the young Jedi darted back and stabbed him through the back with his lightsaber. Two down, three idiots left. By this point, the other three acolytes had regrouped and were advancing once again, more cautious than their dead comrades. Once again, the familiar silver Gen'Al blade slipped into Jalen's right hand as he took a defensive stance.

The trio attacked one after the other; from the Kiffar's left, then right, and finally center. He batted away the strike on his right and stopped the overhead slash from the right by crouching down and stabbing the acolyte attempting it through the knee with his Gen'Al blade. The crouch simultaneously allowed him to dodge the horizontal strike form his center, which passed through the air where the Kiffar's head would have been and instead cut open the throat of the acolyte to his left. Seeing as the acolyte to his right had passed out from the pain of his shattered kneecap and ripped ligaments, Jalen turned his attention to the last of the five acolytes. Four down, one left. The pair engaged in a brief lightsaber duel before the young Knight saw an opening and removed the acolyte's right arm, and as it fell (still clutching a lightsaber), he finished the acolyte off with a roundhouse kick to the face. With both weapons in hand, Jalen continued through the hallways of the Sith Academy, searching for whomever was issuing commands.

Even as Shalken's blade traveled down the length of the staff, the blast from its tip took him off guard, forcing him backwards and nearly losing his footing. The severe ringing in his ears certainly did not help him maintain his balance. ⁝⁝ He is overly defensive, only striking when the opportunity arises. He must be utilizing either Soresu or Djem So, like myself. ⁝⁝ Steadying himself, the Master sent out a telekinetic message: ⁝⁝ Vaskr! Bo. ⁝⁝

Maintaining a defensive posture, the Justicar then addressed his opponent before him. "I see you make use of the defensive arts, much like myself. For that, you have my respect; however, we remain at a standoff. Surrender, Sith, or flee into the dark places of the Galaxy from whence you come. Your very homeworld is besieged by Jedi and Mandalorian alike — and though the odds be against us, our resolve wavers not." The massive form of the Direwolf then slid to a halt at Shalken's side, bloody teeth bared and a ferocious snarl emanating from its powerful lungs. "Yield, sorcerer. The midst of battle is not a place for a librarian. Go, gather your books and ancient tomes, and torment the peoples of the Galaxy no longer."

The Sith Sorcerer listened to the Jedi's words. He crackled after the Jedi did his speech in defiance. But he has a point though, the ancient Sith homeworld is being attacked by Mandalorians, and Jedi, and anyone who itched for a chance to attack the Sith on their ancient ground. Xaxis is ready to keep up the fight, gathering more dark power, but an explosion happened in the background, and then another one. Then looking around and he sees acolytes are getting slain left and right. At this point, he decides he doesn't have any more time to play with the Justicar.

So, Xaxis then quickly extends his left hand with palm out at the Justicar with the dark side at his command, and then quickly points it upward just a tiny bit of a lead in front of him at the ceiling and then lets loose with a force blast with almost all the force energy he had remaining. Such an move would cause the ceiling to crack open and then collapse. Large pieces of stone would then fill the corridor until it's sealed off. Xaxis would be sure to jump backwards as that happened. Xaxis hoped that the the rocks falling would kill the Justicar, but Xaxis had a suspicion like any persistent pest, it would fail to do him in. With the corridor sealed off, the Taz'goreii then goes off to exit the Academy with an alternative entrance that the Jedi have no knowledge of. Even with Korriban being the Sith homeworld, in the end it's just a hunk of rock. This means nothing

Lara crept closer to her target. Her small band of five had managed to miss the drama of Corvo confronting his wife. They had moved largely unmolested through the Academy. The plan had worked flawlessly. The Acolytes were distracted by the planted pockets of battle. Her Shadows moved silently through the cold hallways, striking down those foolish few who strayed into their path. As she moved closer to the core she had been alerted a familiar Jedi had appeared in the Academy. Lara casually flicked on her commlink.

“Master Tanari, you are near one of the Academy’s generators. We could use a little help.” Lara would take any help she could get. @Shalken

Zeral Xexel kept his eyes closed as his mind poured over his home. His Acolytes fought bravely but they were overmatched. The Jedi had sent their Assassins to finish their purge. He sighed. He had always known this day would come. The Empire could not survive forever, their very nature prevented longevity. They would devour themselves. Zeral had lived a long and terrible life. He supposed he would die in the place he had made his home. He could sense a lone Jedi drawing nearer. He reached out and touched the heretics mind. “Come closer little one. Let me start with you.” He groaned as he stood. @Dark Lord Kyle

Shalken was foolish to think that the Sorcerer would leave without the last laugh. Wishing to preserve his strength, the Justicar dove into a side corridor, quickly summoning a barrier to ward away the collapsing ceiling closest to him and Vaskr. His commlink chirped as he rose to his feet. "Understood. I will assist you shortly."

Traversing through the war-torn Academy, Shalken came upon a small staircase that lead to the lower levels. His progress was halted by a group of three Acolytes at the bottom garbed with long, flowing robes, not unlike his previous opponent. Unperturbed, the Master advanced towards them. In a panic, the three of them channeled the Dark Side into raw electricity, the strands of power merging together into a beam that threatened to overcome the Justicar. Shalken ground his teeth in agony as pain shot down his arms while he tried to block their attack with a barrier. Knowing he could not withstand their attack for much longer, the teachings of his mentor resounded within him. ⁝⁝ The Force, as with any other energy, is like water. It flows strongly and swiftly, and you will be hard pressed to completely stop its advance with a simple wall. Even a dam cannot fully contain the force of a strong river. You must instead guide its flow in order to effectively disperse it — or even redirect it. ⁝⁝ Steeling himself, Shalken let down his guard, directing the electricity into his outstretched palms and letting it build within his core. The three Acolytes, realizing their efforts no longer affected the Jedi, stopped their assault — but it was too late. Lacking the proper training to defend against such an attack, they were vaporized on the spot, with nothing but dark soot marking where they once stood.

Finding the generator, Shalken attached his two thermal detonators to its underside. His work finished, he contacted Lara as he exited the chamber. "Charges are laid. Ready to detonate on your command."

Lara smiled as the voice of Shalken Tanari chimed in her ear. She had absolute faith the Jedi Master would make it to the generator. The Force always provided. They were close to their target, the Shadows slinking through the bowels of the Temple. She was close to victory. A few more turns and they would be at the generator. The Shadows turned one last corner before being met by 7 glowing blades. Lara didn’t speak, she simply nudged her fellows in the Force. The Shadows rushed forward. Multicolored blades clashed with ruby red. Lara and her sisters were not like most Jedi. They were trained to kill, and kill quickly.

They were assassins in all but name. A whirlwind of activity followed, two of her sisters fell. Pain shot through her heart. It was pushed aside. In the end, she stood tall with her three remaining kin. Seven dead acolytes and two Shadows scattered on the floor. “They will be put to rest with this Force-forsaken Academy.” Lara grabbed two thermal from her belt and waltzed into the generator room. She attached the two explosives to the powerful device. The voice of Master Tanari sang in her ear again. She quickly responded. “Set the charges to detonate in 5 minutes.” Lara set her own thermal detonators before activating her squadron wide coms. “It’s done. The Academy falls in 5.” She nodded to her companions and headed for the nearest exit.

--

Five Minutes Later

The thermal detonators did exactly what they were designed to do. Detonate. The generators exploded in a blast of colorful destruction starting a chain reaction throughout the academy. A massive explosion rocked through the center of the structure, collapsing the foundation. In one massively fell swoop the Academy crumbled inward, tumbling into the sand of Korriban. The pillar of Sith education ended in spectacular fashion.
