He stood, silent as the night. The rain fell hard upon him and he smiled, his leather clothes becoming wet with the deep saturation of the water. Jabiim was a dirty, muddy world, filled to the brim with slavers, pirates, loyalists, and everything else. And he was one of them. A Loyalist. With the major battles going on throughout the Galaxy, Jabiim had largely been forgotten. Succeeding from the Republic as quickly as possible, Jabiim stood on the brink of rebellion, as many loyalists were tired of the sickness, the raids and the violence. And Caelum was one of them.

Barely trained in the ways of the Force by a Jedi that he never could agree with, Caelum fiddled with his Masters lightsaber. Cutting him down in the middle of the uprising pleased Caelum, and he stared at the saber as the rain came down all around him. Wearing leather robes which were ripped and torn, Caelum looked like a poor man. Two belts around his waist kept the robes from falling, and they hung loosely to his body. With long, scraggly hair, the Human looked dirty and ugly.

He ignited the saber, the flash of light startling him. He flipped it inbetween his hands and looked all around him. No many people stayed in Choal anymore. The forgotten city had all but been evacuated, due to the massive riots and shootings. The light, cerulean blade lighting up the ground around him, Caelum stood still, soaking in all of the memories.

The Jedi would come for him. And he would meet them here.

(A small practice duel with a character I just randomly created. I'd like this to be no-death, but hey, idc. He is of Padawan ability mind you. )

Erak Carr crept slowly through the streets of Choal, his dark robes blending into the shadows of the alleyway. The pouring rain masked his footsteps as he neared the location of former Padawan Caelum. The boy had killed his master, and the fresh Jedi Knight, a Consular by nature, had been handpicked for the job of attempting to return the boy to the light side and, if worst came to worst, subdue him forcefully.

Carr picked out the human boy's presence in the Force easily and quickened his pace down the streets of Choal. The empty streets of one of Jabiim's ghost towns were not expected to be full of people, but Erak could count on his fingers the number of people he had seen since he had made the journey by landspeeder to the town.

Erak rounded a corner and in the distance made out a faint blue glow, that of a lightsaber. Carr stepped into the middle of the street, stealth no longer necessary. Erak strode forward and extended his hand, calling his lightsaber hilt to his outstretched palm. He left the weapon unignited as he approached the boy. "Caelum," he called, his high pitched voice coming out in an almost boyish squeak, but one that projected to the boy. "I'm glad I found you," he said, focusing on the boy. He was grimy and dirty, but it was definitely the padawan boy that Carr had seen in the picture shown to him by the Council.

"I've come to talk with you, Caelum. Much has happened since you left." He paused. "Why, Caelum? Why did you do it?" The short human man's bushy eyebrows furrowed as he gazed intently at the boy. His hair also was drenched and clung to his head. His Jedi robes were heavy and sodden full of water. "I've come to return you to the temple, Caelum. I've come to take you back where you belong."

The Jedi Knight had approached Caelum from nearby. Just as expected thought Caelum. Holding the Cerulean Saber close to him, Caelum stared intently at the Knight. His thoughts bounced around fast and quick, sporadic as ever. The Knight wanted him to come peacefully. Peace? Caelum had not felt peace in what felt like years. His scraggly hair was long, unkempt and full of rain and mud, no doubt from the struggle he endured from the throngs of Rebels.

"I am not going back." Caelum turned fully towards the Knight now. He couldn't stop staring at Carr. The young man did not look familiar, but then again, Caelum barely knew what anybody looked like anymore. Caelum moved closer and he was obviously not in the right mind. "The temple was only restricting my abilities. I..." His voice trailed off as a unexpected event hit him like a rocket.

Carr's face contorted into that of his old Master, and Caelum took a step back. His eyes narrowed, as the rain continually battered the ground around him. Caelum looked around, then started having what appeared to be nervous ticks. He strided forward towards Carr, his saber at his side. He was slow, not moving very much and seemed to be almost stumbling.

"You could not defend yourself!" He screamed this towards Carr. He stood, now a small distance away. He was twitching involuntarily and it was clear that he was out of his mind by now. He was not going to listen to Carr now.

Erak watched the tormented boy's face become twisted with hatred. The taint on his soul was powerful. Carr opened himself to the light side, feeling it flow inside him, extending tendrils of the Force to attempt to calm Caelum's frustrated mind. Carr fought against the walls that the Padawan put up, waging an intense war in the boy's mind.

The boy screamed at him then, standing only a small distance away. Erak could make out that his body was twitching, his nervousness translating into ticks. He seemed almost to stumble forward, like a man after a long night at the bar. Carr raised his lightsaber's hilt, not activating it but keeping it close to him to defend himself if necessary.

"Caelum, the light side is calling you! Your mind is damaged! Do not rely on yourself, but the Force!"

Caelum felt the Force that came from Carr's mind. It probed his mind, tried to calm him. He took a breath, a deep breath, and for a few seconds, he felt happy and calm. The pounding rain slowed down, and Caelum felt finally peaceful. He closed his eyes, smiling as he never had before. Memories flooded back of his family. The family he never saw again. Tears fell down his face, and his smile turned fierce suddenly. Something had enraged him. The only thing Carr could feel or get from the sudden anger was a single name: Emilee.

Caelum's face turned almost immediately. The peaceful smile that was once stretched across his face now looked much darker and twisted. Holding the Lightsaber close to his body, Caelum stalked towards Carr now, taking small steps towards him. It was obvious he had snapped and anger was all that fueled his mind now. He would give the Knight one final chance to leave, if that. Clenching his fist tight into a ball, Caelum readied his Force Powers, almost selecting them like books from a library. This was of course readable by the Knight.
