The Drast Dynasty

fgPqRNK.jpg

The galaxy is ruled by the Sith Empire, founded 500 years ago by The First Sith Empress, Andraste.

It was she who took the Jedi Exiles and united them.

It was she who took the Sith homeworlds and forged anew the identity of Dark Side users throughout the Galaxy.

It was she who was The First Sith.

It is her line, her Dynasty, that rules the Empire today even 500 years since her time. The Imperial Throne may have moved to rest on Coruscant but a Drast has always sat upon it, ever since she was first succeeded by her first born, Elix Drast.

Having had three husbands, the Drast Dynasty has many branches with many different important families marrying into the most powerful Dynasty in the Galaxy, strengthening themselves and the Drast Dynasty itself.

History

Introduction

Dmxsfve.jpg
Never before has there been a family like the Drasts and never before has there been such a need for someone to write about them - someone to set the record straight for the entire Galaxy, for the rest of time! It is with grace and humility that I accept that I am the most qualified to actually undertake this. It is through my words that the history of the Drast family shall be explained and it is through my words that the filter of history shall look upon them!

So sit back and relax as I, Gildered Lockheed, recount the glories of the Drast Dynasty!

And please remember to see the end of this book to see a fully listing of my published works - I'm sure you'll find that they are uttlerly captivating and well worth your time!

The Birth of Alais

GZT0jBc.png
Exert from "The Glories of the Drast Family, as told by Gildered Lockheed" by Gildered Lockheed;

"Alais Drast was born to a Jedi known to the Jedi Order as Tiana.

Having children was something that the Jedi Order still actively forbade at this time, having seen that attachment so often led to the Dark Side, even if their first hand knowledge of the Dark Side itself was limited only to fighting the Exiles at this point. Her mother was not an exceptional Jedi but she was respected and she had some measure of skill.

Now, by pretending not to be related to her, Tiana was able to become the Jedi Master of the young Alais Drast and began to instruct her in the ways of the Force. When she believed that the two of them had formed an unbreakable bond - she informed Alais of the truth and Alais, mindful of the Jedi Code, turned her own mother over to the Jedi Order.

What happened to her after that? No one is quite sure. Some sources say she was killed, others that she was exiled and others still say that she was merely relocated within the Order itself.

Now, you could begin to assume that this means that the Drast Family is a Force Sensitive legacy because of Tiana - but you would be wrong. Tiana herself was the daughter of a very powerful Jedi Master, the Grand Master of the Jedi at the time in fact. Indeed, Syresh Lapar, the Jedi Grandmaster turned Exile Warlord, fathered Tiana which made him the grandfather of Alais Drast.

Truly, it seemed as though Alais Drast was born for Greatness."

The Exile of Alais Drast

MLJENGM.png
Exert from "The Glories of the Drast Family, as told by Gildered Lockheed" by Gildered Lockheed;

"Convinced that she would be safe if she came back to the Jedi by Kal Vox, Alais Drast presented herself to the Jedi Order at conclave. Despite having several notable members of the Jedi Order stand in her defence, the decision of the Jedi Council was that she was too dangerous.

They feared her potential and her strength.

The Jedi Council demanded that Alais Drast be stripped of the Force, to remove the danger of her becoming a strong dark side user. But it was too late - already, Alais Drast had people ready and willing to fight for her, to kill for her.

Alais Drast and Kal Vox escaped the conclave through the careful application of violence and many of the Jedi in attendance being sympathetic to their situation."

Unifying the Exiles

8476.jpg
Exert from "The Glories of the Drast Family, as told by Gildered Lockheed" by Gildered Lockheed;

"Before the rise of Alais Drast to the mantle of Andraste, the Jedi Exiles were a mostly divided faction of Warlords who held their own agendas and their own plans. They did as they willed and only ever worked together to harm their mutual enemies, the Jedi Order.

Alais worked hard to establish herself as the dominant Exile within the faction - already she had the power to rival them individually but she needed more than just power to make sure her voice was heard about all others.

She grew her personal power-base while making sure that she took part in operations that was very visible amongst the Exiles, raising her profile within the faction.

In those early days, Alais had a rival within the faction - Leviticus.

Showing that she could be both ruthless and merciful, Alais stomped Leviticus and claimed his supporters as her own through the right of conquest. She did not, however, kill the Exile Warlord. Instead, she allowed him to live to serve her, showing both mercy and pragmatism.

Two attacks on Jedi Temples - these attacks solidified her as a fighting commander and leader of Dark Side users. One was merely to improve her standing within the faction and the other was more personal. No records exist of the full battle, but what is known is that Alais Drast entered the Temple, Alais Drast fought one of the Jedi Council Members who had sought to judge her and branded her to shame her forever.

And then Andraste left the ruins of the Jedi Temple.

Some say that Andraste had been born when the Jedi first Exiled her and that this was just the moment that Alais finally accepted that she was Andraste. Others speculate that this was the beginning of Andraste.

It is the opinion of this most humble historian that it simply doesn't matter when Alais accepted that she was Andraste. By announcing herself as such, she became the woman who would hold the entire Empire in her grasp."

The First Sith

Exert from "The Glories of the Drast Family, as told by Gildered Lockheed" by Gildered Lockheed;

"Many of the Exile Warlords called Andraste their Master but the former Grandmaster of the Jedi Order, Syresh Lapar, was always going to be an issue. Taking some of her loyal forces, Andraste forced a confrontation with the former Grandmaster, slaying him on Illum.

With the last of the Exile Warlords under her control, she turned her sights to something else - giving the Jedi Exiles an identity of their own, something to unify them as much as she had already done so. The idea was to give them an identity that was their own.

Something that men and women would fight, kill and die in the name of.

Having become aware of their existence, Andraste and her Jedi Exiles led an invasion into the territory of the Sith, subjugating the red-skinned natives through superior martial ability. Andraste herself slew their king in single combat and assumed the title of Empress of the Sith.

She passed down the name, the title, the identity to her followers and the Jedi Exiles followed her example. Andraste was the first Sith and she gave it to her followers, giving them the identity that they had been longing for for years."

Creating the Empire

ALp0tOh.jpg
Exert from "The Glories of the Drast Family, as told by Gildered Lockheed" by Gildered Lockheed;

"And so began the aggressive expansion of the Empire! It started with planets, brought it as allies, as clients and as subjects. This was all well and good but then it got bigger!

Better!

Entire sectors of space swore their allegiance to the Sith Empire and all of them began to produce for the Empire. Planets like Lothal produced food and people in such abundance that they supplied the Empire with both while planets like Mon Cala provided the Empire with shipyards that sucked in resources and poured out ships.

And in a Galaxy in such disarray, ship production was like a license to own the rest of the Galaxy and the Sith Empire knew this, specifically targetting worlds that could increase their naval might. Now I'm as fond of a naval uniform as the next man but it seemed that the Drasts of the day had something of a love for their ships, the bigger the better!

And was it worth it?

Oh by the Force yes it seems to me it was!"

War on the Jedi

veARVqX.jpg
Exert from "The Glories of the Drast Family, as told by Gildered Lockheed" by Gildered Lockheed;

"Ah the Jedi... when Alais Drast was born, the Jedi Exiles were the only threat to the Jedi Order and their back had been broken during the Hundred Years Darkness. The Jedi Exiles were frightened beasts in hiding - dangerous when cornered but without the intellect, without the willpower, to attack and be dangerous to the Jedi Order as a whole again.

But by the time Alais had become Andraste and the Sith Empire had begun to take shape? Well by then there was little the Jedi Order could do but sit and wait for the ships and warriors of the Empire to arrive on their doorstep.

They battered Jedha!

They crushed Tython!

And when the Jedi showed their hand, when they pushed their last ditch efforts against the full might of the Empire?

Well, what happens to a candle in the wind? The Empire snuffed them out as an organised threat."

War on the Galaxy

WRZpiMV.jpg
Exert from "The Glories of the Drast Family, as told by Gildered Lockheed" by Gildered Lockheed;

"The Jedi Order was removed as a threat to the Sith Empire and all that remained where the forces of the Hutt Cartel and the Republic. Truly, the Hutt Cartel had been taking a brutal beating at the hands of the Republic by this stage and only the Republic, with it's ineffectual senators and legendary soldiers, stood between the Sith Empire and total Galactic control.

At this stage, the Sith Empire and the Republic were actually allies. Together, they faced down the remaining Cartel forces on Alderaan. The battle went well for the Empire and the Republic, ending with the Blue Jewel of the Inner Rim liberated from the gangsters and their slimy clutches.

But the Republic, flush from their victory against the Cartel, assumed that the victory meant that they could make decisions for Alderaan's future. The Empire and the Empress were displeased by this assumption it seems!

Much of the details have been lost but what is known is that Andraste and Kravos marched across the Galaxy, annexing the Republic by diplomacy, threat of force and the careful application of said force.

The Republic folded and became what we know today as Imperial Republica."

The Elix Years

XNKxZpR.jpg
Exert from "The Glories of the Drast Family, as told by Gildered Lockheed" by Gildered Lockheed;

"When Elix the First ascended to the throne of the Sith Empire, he came to power with most of the Galaxy under his direct command. But most was not enough for the young Drast and dangerous still lurked and he knew it.

The first big push from Elix the First and his siblings?

Together, they brought Imperial rule to the Cartel territories, stomping out the last remnants of the Hutt Cartel's ruling elements and replacing them with their own. Elix personally executed every single member of the ruling council of Hutts, putting them to the sword live across the holonet - and there was much rejoicing!

To make sure that the Hutt territories stayed in line however, Elix set in place a strict system of laws and enforcers. The aim was to never let the Cartel or another syndicate of criminals gain enough sway to rule there while the Sith Empire still lived.

Once the Hutt territories were secure, Elix and his siblings swept across the Galaxy, tracking down the last remnants of the Jedi Order and executing them. By the time Elix passed away peacefully in his sleep, the Jedi were nothing more than a mention in history textbooks and the Sith Empire had expanded to it's furthermost reaches, limits that would remain unchanged for hundreds of years.

Truly, a magnificent ruler and, I must admit, a personal favourite of mine."

Good King Siris II

q9wGWHJ.png
Exert from "The Glories of the Drast Family, as told by Gildered Lockheed" by Gildered Lockheed;

"A commonly held belief is that the originals were better - that the original Elix was far superior to Elix II and Elix II was superior to Elix III and on and on until the end of the royal Drast line. One possible exception is in the case of Siris II - known to history as Good King Siris, son of Elix. Now, Siris II's accomplishments were not insignificant but the true reason for his moniker is not what one would expect from a Sith Emperor. Good King Siris was not a conqueror and he was not an unmatched user of the Dark Side. No, this Sith Emperor was made famous not for what he destroyed but for what he built.

Siris II was the Emperor responsible for improving trade between the old Republic space, the old Imperial space and the old Cartel space - bringing wealth to the capital of Coruscant in droves, in ways that were unmatched by even the peak of the Republic. He co-ordinated with his family member, Vesemir, and set up the Imperial military branches and he built up production bases within all three major sectors of the Empire. Public institutions sprang up and Sith and Imperial academies of glorious splendour were built under his watchful gaze.

The Imperial Academy of Corulag even produced me as one of their alumni!

But the Dark Side is not without it's double edged nature - indeed, Siris II was a good Emperor, a just Emperor and an Emperor who embodied so many virtues of good rulers. His reign was almost free from strife, save for the strife that he invited into his heart! The poor man, the poor King, loved two women, Triana Dopla-Drast and Gartha Evants-Drast. He married Triana after a long love affair that began with the two of them at the academy but Triana was rendered infertile in her pursuit of the position of The Eternal, all in her efforts to remain by his side I'm sure. This meant that Siris II married Gartha purely for an heir... at least at first.

Soon, the Good King grew to love both of his wives as Gartha fell pregnant with his child. Triana, her mind having been warped and twisted by the Mask of The Eternal, saw no choice but to slay Gartha - and she chose the moment of childbirth as the time to strike. She managed to fatally wound Gartha before Siris II could react and the two lovers duelled as the healers sought to save mother and babe. In the end, the Emperor managed to defeat his wife, The Eternal, and the babe was saved.

Gartha Evants-Drast died of her injuries however.

In his grief, Good King Siris executed his first love, his wife, Triana, by beheading. He tore the Mask of The Eternal from her head and threw it to the ground, declaring that future Eternals would not have the Mask, that it was to be locked away until such a time as the Empire needed the use of such a double edged sword.

He named his daughter Alais and raised her alone."

The Might of the Kravos Line

v1nvdNd.png
Exert from "The Glories of the Drast Family, as told by Gildered Lockheed" by Gildered Lockheed;

"But the main line of the Drast family, the Imperial Line as it were, was not the only important part of the Drast Dynasty! Indeed, with a family as wide and as broad as this, the opportunity for greatness is spread out over a great many number of people.

Kal Drast, the Dark Lord Kravos, sired only one child with the Empress but this daughter was strong. Evalyn Drast outlived two of her husbands, who were killed during her time aiding her brother Elix in battle against Jedi and Hutt Remnants. Her third and final husband gave her a son and there was talk in the Imperial court that the line of Kravos may well die out.

Legend has it - and I'll include it here because it's far more interesting than the, likely, boring truth - that Evalyn Drast presented her son to the Imperial court and declared that though her bloodline may never be as widespread as those of her brothers or sister, her blood would endure. She declared that her bloodline would never bother with being numerous because one of her bloodline would accomplish more than ten of another.

This lit a fire under her son, Vesemir.

17uvzil.png
To prove himself, he spent a fair few years hunting down pirate gangs almost by himself, killing them all and seizing stolen assets back for the Empire en masse. Finding time to get married, Vesemir returned to the Empire with a son, Eskel, who wanted nothing to do with him and a son-in-law Azarn, who had married his daughter Vesna.

While Eskel was off romancing his way through the Empire, Vesemir and Azarn bonded over one thing they both found inexcusable about the Sith Empire - apparently they both found the Imperial military to be lacking in discipline and structure. The two of them went on what can only be described as a crusade.

They modernised every single part of the Imperial war machine from training to the very battlefront. Ranks were established and everything became ordered. Under the watchful eyes of Vesemir and Azarn, the Imperial military changed from a collection of Sith warriors leading non-force sensitive men and women into battle and relying on the Sith to survive and win... to what we see today.

They created a military where force sensitivity didn't matter - where a sentient with nothing but their wits and a good aim with a blaster could excel and go beyond their station. It isn't really any wonder that Vesemir is now known as The Father of the Imperial Military and Azarn known as The First Son of the Imperial Military.

Truly, these great men did their part to ensure the continued dominance of the Sith Empire."

For the Sake of Blood

NrnFAYG.jpg
Exert from "The Glories of the Drast Family, as told by Gildered Lockheed" by Gildered Lockheed;

"In what was perhaps an odd twist of fate, or a diplomatic coup, the second daughter of Elix the First, Lagertha Drast, managed to secure a marriage between her first born son, Ivarn, and Kira Alemannii - the daughter of one of the most respected members of the Deucalian Clan Alemannii. Despite the past antagonism between the Sith and the Deucalians, the marriage brought large numbers of the Deucalians into the Imperial fold. Many ethnic Deucalians call the Empire their home to this day and it has it's roots here with the marriage of Ivarn and Kira and the start of the Alemannii-Drast branch house.

Indeed, the Alemannii-Drast branch of the dynasty persists to this day, though exactly how Deucalian they are after 500 years of breeding with non-Deucalians is really up for debate.

But while this marriage did something to cause the tensions with the Deucalians to simmer down, it had the opposite effect on the Mandalorian side of the family. Damion Drast, second son of Siris and Andraste herself, married into clan Kryze and the Mandalorians remembered how the Deucalians had raided them.

To say that there was bad blood was to be making a grievous understatement.

No one is really sure who started it but if we're betting credits it was likely those with the Mandalorian blood - everyone knows those Mandalorians are a blood thirsty bunch of savages really. In the end though, it doesn't really matter - all that matters was that it started.

The blood feud between the two branches of the family was made far worse by the addition of each branch's clan. Clans Alemannii and Kryze went to war with each other and Drast branch fought Drast branch to the death.

This bloodshed came to a head in the Battle of the Icy Plane, a clash on Hoth between Deucalians and Mandalorians, the Mandalorians invading the territory of their hated foes. In this brutal clash, the Mandalorians were baited into using melee weapons only and they agreed as this rivalry, this feud, demanded that the foes fought each other in a true test of skills. It was a bloody battle that stretched on for a day and a night - neither side retiring for the night as it would have been as much a loss as retreating in the eyes of their foes.

In the end, Bijorn Alemannii-Drast slew both Zeck Kryze-Drast and Justa Jendri-Drast by himself in the middle of the battlefield for their killing of his brother Halmond weeks earlier. The battle was over with the death of the joint commanders of the Mandalorian forces and the Kryze-Drast family retreated with their allies.

The battle had been long and it was not the only one fought. The blood feud resulted in the death of eight members of the Drast dynasty before the Emperor of the time, Good King Siris, descended on them with an iron fist. He executed the two leaders of the branch families personally and declared the blood feud ended - marrying the children of the branch houses off to families who's loyalty to the throne was absolute to further shackle them, to prevent such a feud happening again.

As we will see soon however, this became less relevant as time went on."

The Purifying the Blood

bVcFKDY.jpg

Exert from "The Glories of the Drast Family, as told by Gildered Lockheed" by Gildered Lockheed;

"Throughout the course of history, many of the branches of the Drast Dynasty have faded away into nothing. The effects of time mean that many families just die out and this is true even for mighty dynasties such as the Drasts - some of their branches just break off.

Sometimes, however, the fall of these branch families is something that more sinister.

The Alemannii-Drast branch of the dynasty can no longer call themselves Deucalians, for example, due to how much breeding has been done in different gene pools. The Mandalorian side of the family however, the Kryze-Drasts, suffered from the same but also more than a few 'accidents' while patrolling the Mandalorian areas of the Empire with the local forces.

Now, far be it from me to throw speculation into my writings but I do find it odd that no less than three members of the Kryze-Drasts died in Mandalorian space in 'unfortunate accidents against dissidents'.

But I'm sure it's nothing.

Regardless, many branches that came from areas of space such as Deucalia and Mandalore, now find themselves members of said culture in name only, limiting their influence over members of these cultures."

The Velvet Glove

UuEhDcg.jpg

Exert from "The Glories of the Drast Family, as told by Gildered Lockheed" by Gildered Lockheed;

"Sometimes it's easy to forget that the Galaxy is a big place - that a Galactic Empire is a huge thing and that everything a planet needs to survive, the Empire needs in massive abundance.

A planet needs food, a planet needs water and a planet needs credits.

An Empire the size of the Sith Empire? It needs planets dedicated to supplying each of it's many needs. During a relative lull in the Galaxy, a rebellion sprang up around Lothal, encompassing many planets and moons surrounding the area. Considering Lothal and some of the moons and planets surrounding it supplied the core and the original Empire with vast amounts of food and raw materials, this was something that needed to be addressed.

The demands of the workers' rebellion were rather simple in all honesty - they wanted better working condition and the like. Nothing that the Empire couldn't provide. The Empire had two main options however.

Crush the rebellion or work for a peaceful solution.

Kal Thul-Drast, grandson of Lyanna Drast, volunteered to speak to the rebel leaders and was allowed to land freely to discuss it with them due to his family's history of supporting the planet. Once there, Kal Thul-Drast slaughtered the rebel leaders with the aid of some members of the Black Hand he had helped planet-side with his shuttle.

With the rebellion crushed, Kal spoke to Alais III, the ruling Empress, and asked her that the Empire show mercy on the people. It was agreed that the people would be shown mercy but the leaders were killed and their families executed afterwards as a warning to all.

One might very easily say that the velvet glove of the Drast family lives on through the ages? Or perhaps the Drasts, by this point, had just come to realise they had very many effective ways to suppress rebellions... who's to say?"

The Poison Queen

dHt2TdF.jpg
Exert from "The Glories of the Drast Family, as told by Gildered Lockheed" by Gildered Lockheed;

"Empress Alais Drast VII ascended to the throne of the Sith Empire after the death of her father, Cregan Drast II, when she was rather young. At the age of just sixteen, the young Empress was forced into the spotlight and almost immediately was courted by innumerable numbers of Sith suitors. Indeed, it seemed that young Alais and her young brother Siris were without anyone really in their corner amongst the hostile elements within the Imperial Court.

Alais herself had not inherited the power of her namesake or even that of her father - by all accounts, Alais the Seventh was a rather small woman of average power with the Force and, while beautiful in her own right, not as stunningly attractive as many of the line before or after her.

She was ripe for being taken advantage of!

Or was she?

The answer, simply put, is no.

Aware that she couldn't match some of the powerful Sith Lords in pure power, Alais used her cunning to pit them against one another. Through the use of spies and rumours, Alais triggered a blood feud between two of her main dissenters and used the fact that they had broken the law against blood feuds (a law brought in by the ever-respected Good King Siris) to have them both executed.

During her plotting and scheming however, Alais discovered that her father had been assassinated by poison rather than merely dying of ill-health. Aware that the Court was scheming against her, Alais accepted the invitation to a Grand Moff's gala. Knowing that it was to be a trap, she instructed her brother Siris to take some loyal Lords with him and prepare the Navy in secret while she presented herself at the Gala.

The chief conspirator waited until she had drank of her wine before loudly announcing that she had been consuming poison for weeks and that she was dying, that she would only receive the antidote if she bowed to his whims and married him, becoming his trophy wife with himself wielding all of her powers.

To which Alais replied that she knew. But she had had the Black Hand infiltrate the staff as well so that everyone present had taken the same poison as she had, only in a much high dose. Heedless of the threats of their families seeking revenge, Alais was able to watch all of her enemies choke to death on their own blood before she succumbed to the poison herself.

I daresay that no one drinks easily in the presence of royalty after this!"

The Fury of Siris the Butcher

di8a4P1.jpg
Exert from "The Glories of the Drast Family, as told by Gildered Lockheed" by Gildered Lockheed;

"Siris Drast V - Now there was a man who was good at one thing and made sure that the Galaxy knew it. When you mention Siris Drast V to people these days, you will likely only receive blank stares. No one really knows who Siris Drast V is unless they have studied Imperial History. However, there is a name that all know him by.

Siris the Butcher.

Hardly a regal title but one that the young Emperor worked incredibly hard to earn. The younger brother of Empress Alais Drast VII, The Poison Queen, and son of Cregan Drast II, Siris the Butcher was sent away by his sister to make sure her move to kill off the leaders of the dissenting factions was done without risk of him being a possible weakness for them to exploit. His sister gave him command of a fleet of starships and he was told that if the plan went awry, he was to use the military might to crush the leadership of the families who coveted the power of the throne.

He received word of the success of the mission but, overcome with grief and rage over the death of his sister, this was not enough for Siris. Written accounts from the bridge crew of the Star Destroyer described how Siris went from crying at the news of his sister's death to being possessed by a white hot fury that seemed to burn in his eyes.

Rather than leaving the death at merely the leaders, Siris began the systematic slaughter of every member of the families who had dared to plot against the throne. If it were merely a purge, this wouldn't be that strange and he wouldn't have earned his title as The Butcher - but the scale of this purge was massive, culling over 60% of the Imperial Court of Coruscant, and it had a more personal touch to it.

This Emperor, this man driven by righteous rage and grief, made sure that he was there for every home raid and every execution. He personally dragged men, women and children from their homes and executed them in front of assembled crowds of civilians and military personnel. Once every living member of the traitorous families had been killed, the Emperor held a summit of his Lords and Moffs and addressed them personally.

And that's all we know for sure.

There are no written records of what was said or done within this summit and the Lords and Moffs invited told no one, having been sworn to secrecy. Rumours have it that the Emperor had the heads of every family member lined up on spikes throughout the Imperial Palace and led the Moffs and Lords through the Palace to see them all - as a silent reminder of the price of betrayal.

Other rumours say that they ate a formal meal, which the Emperor revealed was actually made from the bodies of the traitors only after the assembled guests had eaten.

All that is known for certain is that Siris Drast V's reign ushered in a period of peace, known as The Quiet Years, through rivers of blood and a hard hand that still has his name whispered to children even now as a cautionary tale.

Take care to listen to your teachers, they are told, lest they call upon Siris The Butcher to teacher you a lesson!

Truly, a man who shall never be forgotten."

The Quiet Years

S0FQZ4Z.png
Exert from "The Glories of the Drast Family, as told by Gildered Lockheed" by Gildered Lockheed;

"For a while, it seemed that there was a period of constant conflict within the various branches of the Drast family- different periods of infighting, outside threats to their rule, and pirate activity that Drasts went and made names for themselves fighting. It seemed that the Drast Dynasty was plagued - cursed - to always have a fight in one way or another.

A subtle decline in these conflicts had eventually led to this - a period of relative peace.

This period, known as 'The Quiet Years', was roughly one-hundred years which offered them the opportunity to build on their name and to focus their effects on the capital, Coruscant- leaving Korriban almost entirely. The capital had been moved during Elix's reign but Korriban had still held much significance prior to this period but now the Drasts gradually moved several of the official offices that had once been held on Korriban and moved them entirely over to Coruscant.

Though this period of time was relatively quiet, it held significant purpose to furthering their continued growth and their continued integration into the culture of the Core worlds. It was marked by no threat to their rule, allowing the Drast family to situate themselves comfortably as leaders; their numbers bloated and their strength, already known within the Empire, became increasily important.

These Quiet Years, ended with an increase in rebellious activities across the Galaxy as people seemed to sense that the Empire had grown large and clumbersome. Tensions within the Empire were beginning to rise and, naturally, things went from bad to worse with the death of the Emperor, Siris VI."

The Death of the Last Emperor

vCmP6dh.png
Exert from "The Glories of the Drast Family, as told by Gildered Lockheed" by Gildered Lockheed;

"Our Emperor is dead.

Truly, there can be no witty word play or jokes said about such a subject. Our Emperor is dead and we can do nothing but honour him for the life he lived and for the way he ruled. While attempting to perform a retinue jump to lightspeed, the ship carrying both the Emperor and his consort encountered hyperdrive failure as they were being accelerated to lightspeed. The nature of this accident, if indeed it was an accident, meant that no bodies could be recovered to be honoured.

Emperor Siris VI Drast ruled the Sith Empire and he was a man of conviction and a man to be respected - the Galaxy is poorer for his loss. Unfortunately for the Galaxy, our dearly departed Emperor found himself beset by issues on all sides, working hard to hold the Empire together while continuing to put down rebellious and seditious sentiment violently and with gusto.

This leaves his son, Elix V Drast, to face the problems of the Empire alone, his mother, Luna Vex-Drast, having died a number of years previously.

500 years of family history rest on young the shoulders of our new Emperor - but he has the blood, he has the right and we shall soon see if he has the strength of will to bring the Empire to glorious new heights!

Our Emperor is dead - Long live the Emperor."
