Gaunerei wasn't sure when he had passed out, He had been in the dreams when it happened. It wasn't a bad thing. It usually stemmed from when he lost focus and everyone involved ended up either sleepwalking, or a hangover. So, he wasn't too shocked to see that he was in a room, with a bed. It was a nice change from an imperial cell.

He smirked. Not that he had to worry about that now, did he? Gaunerei gave a good long stretch. He loved to stretch. He gave a content sigh. Real freedom. He finally had it. He found his paradise. He chuckled to himself. Who would have thought?

He heard a commotion in a kitchen, and the smell of something baking. His mouth watered. He was certainly hungry. He started to wonder where Ebberla was in all of this. He found her, in a hot kitchen, preparing food. He raised an eyebrow.

"Rei-rei." a toddler chimed. He saw Vida. Okay, now he was really suspect of the situation.

The Force surged into his hands. He reached to any cords of the subconscious. His own, another's, and gave a firm tug. It was his way to double check that he was awake. He then shifted his hands. In the dream, all illusions would have melted. It did nothing but make patterns on his body glow.

"Oh, if I'm dead, none of this would work anyway." he said.

It took all the toddler's effort to climb onto the bed, eventually tossing her Ryshcate slice onto the bed as she pulled herself up. She left a trail of crumbs, but found her way to sit in Gaunerei's lap. She gave him a wide grin and held up her cake to him, waiting for him to try to take it, Vida would pull it from his grasp at the last minute, having a giggle fit every time.

Eventually Ebberla returned to the bedroom to check on Vida and Gaunerei, her hair was pulled back and she was dressed leisurely, more specifically, she had kept the tunic she had gotten from Sacul. She grabbed a towel before joining the two on the bed to wipe Vida's face. The toddler let out a yelp and fought with Ebb as she quickly wiped off the larger crumbs before tossing the towel onto the floor. "See, done!" Ebb smiled showing nothing in her hands and kissed Vida on the forehead.

"Finally, you have awaken." Ebberla greeted Gaun as Vida reached over with her dirty sticky fingers to grab Gaun's hair. The towel snapped to Ebb's hand as she quickly snatched Vida's before she could dirty up Gaunerei.

"Yup, I'm dead." Gaunerei said with a smile. The child in his lap played and teased him, and Gaunerei happily allowed the child taunt him with the cake. Seeing Ebberla in snamreg tunics caused him to stare fr a moment. He never thought she would willingly wear that.

"So what killed me? Was it a mushroom? Am I still dying? Is this a coma?" Gaunerei asked Ebberla as he embraced Vida.

"Hopefully not Geist Weiss when he figures out he cannot track you." Ebberla responded, "I got you off of Corellia, so from here, you are free to go where ever you think is safe."

Ebberla climbed further onto the bed, leaning against the backboard as Vida climbed away from Gaunerei to her Mother's lap. Vida nuzzled her mom and Ebb gave her a gentle kiss atop of her head. "But before you go," Ebb paused, thinking of her words carefully, "Before you go, I wanted to ask you something. The future is uncertain and if anything ever happened to Thaed or I, I want to know that Vida is safe and will be raised happy. So Gaunerei would you be Vida's godfather?" The Corellian asked, giving Vida a squeeze as she wiggled to get comfortable.

Gaunerei blinked. His memories of countless mothers asking for luck to be granted to their children flashed in his mind. He has mostly declined, preferring to remain under the radar and prevent himself from going mad from worship as a certain mongrel had. But in a way, he had fought to protect them, didn't he? The dark side should have driven his race extinct. And yet, they not only remained, but the few that were set loose in the Galaxy caused grief for many a sith.

Gaunerei had not protected Della that night when she was stolen. Gaunerei had gambled. The odds of one of those children escaping were small, but he took that chance. And sure enough, one of them did.

But he was no longer a god betting the odds with the Threads and mortals. He had freedom. He had life. He gently held Vida's tiny hand. His smile graced his face.

"After everything that has happened? You would choose me over so many others?" he said. His obsidian eyes sparkled.

"She will have the trickery of a rabbit. There will be none that can find her, unless she desires to be found. Vida will have enemies in the thousand, but not one will be able to destroy her. She will run across the stars, seeing their roads faster than any other. Of course I will be her god father. " Gaunerei gently kissed the child on the top of her head.

" When you find my people, Vida, they will call you One blessed by the Sunstealer"
