Ysar stepped down the landing ramp of the freighter that had brought him to this planet. He didn't have to worry about the pilot taking off without him. He turned towards the side of the side of the landing pad and walked towards it, dragging something behind him. As he came to the edge he looked over, at the river of lava below. He brought his arm up over the edge, with the thing he had dragged off the ship over the edge. He let his grip on it go, and he watched as the object fell into the lava below. Yep, he didn't have to worry about being left behind by the pilot.

He turned back around to face the fortress that had been build into the side of the mountain. He began the walk along the treacherous walkway over top of the lava river below to the entrance of the fortress. Ysar had spent weeks researching a criminal syndicate that had last been hard of nine hundred years ago. He had managed to locate what had once been a fortress of the vast syndicate and had come to collect any relics that might be of value or use. He had tricked a pilot into taking him to the fortress's position.

Ysar reached the blast doors that led inside and walked over to the door's control panel. He tore the covering off the ancient console and took a look at the wiring inside. He moved the wires around, and assuming that there was still some power left, the blast doors would open. After a couple of seconds, a loud humming noise came from the doors and he turned his head to see the blast doors moving apart for him to enter. They stopped moving after halfway and Ysar stood up and walked for entrance.

The freighter's arrival on the isolated landing strip had set a number of things in motion. Deep within the bowels of the fortress a hyperspace transponder had sprung to life, sending a message through the vastness of space to distant Corellia. At the same time a number of guiding lights had illuminated throughout the corridors, leading from the main entrance to a small chamber where a single holodroid droid was seated in a chair. The droid was also connected to the fortress' mainframe, and was now coming to life as well. As a response signal arrived from Corellia, the droid's body started shimmering, briefly taking on the appearance of a young man, dressed in an immaculate suit. Edmund Veidt, once something more, now a rick entrepreneur living in comfort on Corellia. The droid, who had returned to its original appearance after that brief test run, was part of a communication system that he had set up not so long ago, when the fortress had been truly abandoned, a means to keep an eye on what was once the property of some of the most powerful men and women in the Galaxy but now belonged to no one.

Edmund had not expected to ever have to use the system, but he was not a man to take chances, this fortress had been a well kept secret, and only someone with the right knowledge could have found it, someone who Endmund would benefit from keeping an eye on. So he waiting, seeing through the eyes of the droid, listening through its ears, and if and when the time came, ready to speak through its mouth. Ready to welcome his guest.

As Ysar stepped into the fortress, lights were suddenly illuminated and they formed a path. Ysar, having no idea where certain places inside the fortress lay, figured that the path must go somewhere important. He followed the path of lights down a few corridors, before stopping as the lights came to a door. Ysar approached the door and it slid open, inside sat a droid, it appeared to be power on but he couldn't tell. Ysar stepped towards the droid. "And just what might you be?"

The droid looked up to face the one ho had triggered its activation, rising from its seat and walking towards him. Halfway it stopped, under Edmund's command. "I am the caretaker, you are intruding on private property. Please identify yourself and state your purpose." Lightyears away Edmund would be wathching with mild interest to see what the visitor's reply would be.

Ysar snarled at the droid."Private property? Nobody has used this place for a millennia. The last people to be here were the Black Sun, and they're no longer around. At least, for now they aren't. I'm here to revive the Black Sun."

The droid just stood there for a while as Edmund processed what he had heard. Reviving the Black Sun, now that was interesting. He entered a few commands into his terminal and an overhead holoprojector came to life. In between Ysar and the droid an image started taking shape, a small scale rendition of this very chamber, from a different time, a different age by the looks of it. The chamber looked cleaner, grander, lit up, richly decorated. Men and women, young and old, of numerous species walked in and out of the projection. Then the projection started changing, slowly but surely it started moving through time, a painting changed here, a piece of furniture changed there, but the people kept coming and going. Finally the image changed to somewhat resemble the chamber as it was right now, old, dusty, lacking for repair and upkeep.

"You see friend," the droid started speaking again, but this time with Edmund's voice being transmitted through its mouth from across the Galaxy, "you are right that the Black Sun were the last occupants of this fine establishment, but on the rest you are a little mistaken."

The image, that had been projecting the empty room for so long that it seemed it had came to a stop, suddenly changed, men and women started appearing once more, in smaller numbers, and the chamber wasn't as grand as it had one been, but the occupants still moved with the same purpose and sense of power as before. The droid also shimmered then, finally taking on the appearance of Edmund, a broad smile on his face as he stepped forward a step or two.

"The Black Sun are no longer around, but millennia, no, not so long ago. They were here, in living memory, a pale shadow of their former self, but a shadow nonetheless. And now that even that shadow is gone you come here, one who would bring back what once was. Interesting."

Ysar was surprised by the change in appearance of the droid, but he didn't show it. He looked the image of this man in a suit up and down before looking him in the eyes. "So what you're saying is that recently the Black Sun attempted to rise to power again, but it tripped over it self and left nothing but a Black Hole, a shadow of what it had once been." He began to walk in a circle around the man. "And in order for you to know that, you would have to have either been apart of the Black Sun or apart of whatever it is that cause it to trip. So enlighten me, which are you?"

Edmund's initial reply was a simple smile as he followed the intruder's path, as if he had raised a question about the weather and not the recent history of one of the most powerful crime syndicates in the Galaxy. "I am a memory, a shadow of a memory." He would click his hands and the image shimmering in the center of the room vanished. "But the past is history, the present and future are what matter. Why do you seek to rebuild the Black Sun? The name has power, but it will also draw unwanted attention to you, are you prepared for that?"

Ysar looked the man in the eyes. "It will only bring attention if it is casually used, thrown out there for anyone to grasp. As for why I want to see the Black Sun's revival. Why does any criminal commit a crime? For profit. They do it to survive because they can not do so legally. So if just being a criminal can get you profit, why try to revive the Black Sun? Because, organized crime pays the most, and it offers a better chance of surviving."

Edmund was silent, patiently listening to the visitor speak. "You speak with confidence, but I sense ignorance as well. I have seen the curse of a name, but I survived it, maybe you will do the same. If this is indeed your desire, who am I to stop you." He would then spread his arms out wide, gesturing all around him, "This is a memory, the legacy of a name, use it as you will. But remember, I will be watching, listening, and maybe helping. But who knows what the future holds, it is after all your future now, not mine." The last words would come with a sense of finality and to back that up the droid's appearance would shimmer once more, reverting back to its original appearance. Th droid would simply shut down then, waiting in slumber until such time as it was needed once again.
