The Boonta's Eve Offensive

With the Imperium being pressed more and more in the Core by the Defiance Armada, the time has come for the Rebellion and the Cartel to launch the offensives they've been planning since the Battle of Naboo. In order to keep the Imperium off balance, and prevent them from bringing their full might to bear down on any single group, the plan is to launch three coordinated invasions of Sith Space from different areas. This will prevent the Imperium from shifting its reserves in order to respond overwhelmingly to any single one of them, and give the Defiance allies a shot at breaking through, opening cracks in the Imperium through they can drive a wedge. Massive Rebel, and Hutt, fleets are positioning themselves to launch an attack with the aim of linking up, and cutting off a section of the Imperium stretching from Mandalore to Zeltros, and Saleucami.

The Second Battle of Saleucami Spaceport

Rushing across the DMZ, the Cartel's fleet loudly announced the criminal organizations entry into the war in earnest. The massive fleet is well prepared to slug its way through whatever defenses the Imperium may have before breaking out in order to link up with the Rebellion. In addition, thanks to the position of Hutt Space, the Cartel's strike force is well positioned to open up a front in old Imperium Space, which has remained largely untouched from foreign invasion. The first major obstacle for the Hutts is at the planet Saleucami, site of one of the earliest battles during the Alliance-Imperium War over a decade ago. As the battle rages across the planet, a large spaceport facility near the planet's equator has become the focus of the fighting in the region. The spaceport is an important location, its seizure will allow the Cartel/Rebel forces to better establish a foothold on Saleucami, and begin routing supplies to other fronts on the planet with more efficiency. It is up to the Imperium defenders to prevent this from happening in order to keep the fighting on Saleucami in flux.

OOC Information

  • This is a 1 vs 1 ground battle
  • As with other recent battles there will a 48 response time limit. If a participant has not responded within 48 hours they will skipped, any attacks will connect/the battle will be forfeited.
  • No NPC's may be used at all, under any circumstances. Any party that uses NPC's will automatically lose the battle.
  • In the interest of not dragging things out OOC, if three reports are made that require ruling to be made, the battle will end automatically with an administrative ruling as to the outcome.
  • A time limit of 14 days is imposed. If the battle lasts longer than 14 days it will automatically end with an administrative ruling as to the outcome.

The first major obstacle for the Hutts is at the planet Saleucami, site of one of the earliest battles during the Alliance-Imperium War over a decade ago. As the battle rages across the planet, an old farmstead on a hill has become the focus of the fighting in the wetlands. Though not important in and of itself, being just a farmstead after all, whichever side is able to take it will gain a tactical advantage that might turn the entire battle in the region in their favor. Both the Imperium, and the Cartel have deployed forces with the intention of seizing it.

The Second Battle of Saleucami Tunnels

As the battle rages across the planet, the old tunnels once used by the Confederacy of Independent Systems for a variety of projects have once again become an area of interest. Though after centuries, nothing of the valuable cloning facilities they once housed remain, the tunnels remain important for the movement of personnel through the more mountainous areas of the planet. Control of these tunnels would allow either the Imperium or the Rebel/Cartel forces to more safely shift resources across the planet, and each side has sent teams in with the intention of securing them. A chokepoint near the ruins of one of the old cloning facilities has become the site of a battle for the control of the tunnels.

Is this [death-enabled] by default? Somehow I'm hesitant if I have to meet a FU in close quarters with only my blaster. Do I have to ICly purchase equipment for it to be admitted in the thread? Say I have to fight a Sith, something in my prefers hiding behind a dozen landmines.

In all honesty, equipment only gets you so far in practical terms. It just means you need to fight innovatively - many folks like that challenge. Especially Mandalorian characters, it seems

As for myself;

Not to get this thread off topic, but I would recommend having something more than just a blaster. @Korvo is right, creativity is the most important by far, but it also helps to have a toolkit to work with. Feel free to PM me if you want to talk about it more so that this thread doesn't veer off topic.

All creative genius aside: the tunnels are a chokepoint which means fighting against a FU without an extensive toolkit is a death sentence...not a battle. I'm also not making my PC a master tactician just to win.

Keep in mind that there are plenty of non-FU's also signed up on the Imperium side, and odds are the FL's will hash it out so it's as close to an even playing field as they can get. If you're picked, the odds of having to go up against a Sith Lord are extremely low IMHO.

I'm popping my cherry with this one, after all.

I think you just need to write in your equipment before the fight starts. Credits are, as of now, virtually useless

A: We play for keeps. Of course it's death-enabled. Don't be boring. ::D:
B: You work for the Cartel and are going to battle for the Cartel. Buy some equipment that rocks, but have it LISTED ON YOUR CHARACTER SHEET BEFORE THE BATTLE BEGINS
C: Yes, I'll personally be trying to match Non-FS with Non-FS and FS with FS blah blah blah. That said, I suppose there is the possibility of non-FS versus FS but I'll check to make sure it's OK with both parties before doing that.
D: Good luck. We're all counting on you.

I'm withdrawing Davik from the Offensive as I don't think it very much fits the character. Sorry if this causes some problems with assigning players.
