So, my college has us take a personality test called Myers Briggs (MBTI), which is a decently common trend among colleges, businesses, and jobs. But I think it would be something fun for all of us to see what we end up being out of the 16 personality types. The test is short, so it won't take too much of your time. Post the results below and let us know what you got! Without further adu, here's the free version of the test;

16 Personalities Myers Briggs Test

My result is INTJ.

This time, I got ISTP and will typically flit between ISTP, ISTJ, and INTP and am more of a mix of those three (with preference towards ISTP) than any singular type.

Quite an interesting mix. I used to be an infj, but after getting through a bit of emotional baggage, I became an intj, which I've actually become quite accepting of. It describes me best.

I got INFP, or the mediator, but I also swing back and forth between that and ISFJ, the defender. I've always enjoyed these type of tests, gaining a better understanding of the self is a valuable treasure second to none.

Aside from a time when I was trying to be something I wasn't (and so answered wrong, basically, according to the actuality of things) and showed up as ENFP, I've always shown up as an INFJ when I take it.

Which is funny, considering when you go deeper than the surface with it, you find out that INFJ functions and ENFP functions are basically introvert/extrovert mirrors of each other.

I agree. The mind is too valuable not to attempt to understand.

And I can see that, Elijah. I know a few infj's myself. Us intj's often get mistaken for entj's or infj's. It can be annoying sometimes.

I've always subscribed to the idea that everyone has two primary personality archetypes, an inherent personality and a reactionary one. The inherent personality is the most pure, the most true to being for that individual. It is what they are at their core, unfiltered by anything outside their own heart and mind. For me, my inherent personality is that of INFP, I'm a dreamer, a mediator, and a healer. Those are my most defined qualities, I'm an idealist and altruist at my core.

However, my reactionary personality is that of ISFJ, the defender. A reactionary personality develops as we experience different things in our life, it is literally how we react or adapt to the world around us in order to survive. Survival means different things, based on our inherent personality, as well as the various experiances we acquire over time. It's not difficult to see how the many traumatic and stressful events of my childhood through mid-teenage years forced me to adapt my personality. An abusive father, abusive stepfather, watching my mother slowly die of cancer, experiencing the deaths of multiple of my close friends over my teenage years, and most recently the death of my little brother, whom I took care of for nine years of my life. All of these things forced the dreamer in me to become a little more pragmatic, the mediator in me to become a little more assertive, and the healer in me to become more of a warrior.

I attempted to petrify my bleeding heart so that I could wield it like a shield to protect the ones I loved. I think it's all so very fascinating when we attempt to deconstruct our own thinking patterns. I've always attempted to do this with my characters as well, it's the INFP in me I guess, to project myself into my characters. Sairsa, my sith, is a great example of this, she both allows herself to be overwhelmed with emotion yet holds fast to something greater, something she simply can't lose because if she does then nothing matters anymore. We all have that in one way or another, the one thing that keeps us together no matter how much we fall apart. It's actually quite poetic, the idea of a bleeding heart of stone.

If your interested, this poem is basically the 10 commandments I've chosen to live by. I listen to it almost everyday.

It's very interesting to see how the mind and heart coexist like that (I presume the only reason one may have an inherent type with a reactionary type is because the inherent is the mind, with the reactionary being the heart). I find at my heart I can act much like my polar opposite sometimes; esfp. But truly, I know I'm an intj. I know my emotions can betray me, which is why, for my sake and the sake of others, I must remain in control of them. That video was so pure in its points, it was almost biblical.

Every time I've taken this test, I've come up as ISFJ-T (the Defender) which is 100% me, through and through.

ENTP-T And proud! :D
The Debater. And oh I do love arguing... We would have the potential to be geniuses if we weren't so God damn Lazy.
I especially love taking it for my characters, and seeing their results. Lanna is kind of my ENTP Alter Ego.
I'm the probably Lazy one, and she can be the genius.

I can second this; I live with an entp, and his life's purpose is to debate every human he encounters until they're broken emotionally. it's funny how he reacts with other intj's like myself too lol.

INFP every time I take the test. Used to not like being one as a man in this country but I met a wonderful INFP girl and it is heavenly. Helps we have similar values though since INFPs can be quite stubborn in defending those.
