Born in the Sharp Stone Tribe twenty seasons before, Tapil is the eldest son in the large Madreck family. His ancestors had proudly fought alongside Bright Tree Tribe and their outworld allies against the skull warriors. Ever since a wolking Tapli was inspired by the tales of the Great Battle. Being from one of the many tribes still living for the most part traditionally there is great expectations thrust upon the descendants to honor the old ways. As the firstborn of his many siblings it is especially felt by him.
Tapli once he was of age often as possible accompanied his father and the other hunters on expeditions and trade efforts with other villages and some friendly offworlders that occasionally come.
One night Tapli ever the bold one snuck off with a few friends to explore the neighboring forest on their own. During the middle of this latest misadventure, they witnessed what appeared to be a falling star descending down toward them. Frightened the young Ewoks scattered and took cover the object narrowly missed them and crashed into a swamp. Shaken by the experience but curious they edged closer to the crash site.
Much to their amazement they discovered it was an offworlder starship though heavily damaged. They subsequently witnessed a wounded human in her late forties stumble out of the shattered ramp and fell unconscious. Tapli without hesitation rushed over to the stranger followed by the others. Together they tried to keep her alive while one of them ran back to the Tribe and soon returned with help.
The human was taken for treatment by the shaman who was supported by his apprentice and Tapli who volunteered. Two days later their unexpected guest finally woke up with a start. Restrained the offworlder finally calmed down and was given food. With the help of the chieftain who can speak decent Basic the stranger introduced herself as Seda Redwall, a Sector Ranger.
With further explanation Seda revealed that her ship had suffered an engine malfunction while traveling through the system. Due to her injuries the Ranger was forced to stay in the village to recover. Tapli always curious he tried to spent time whenever possible with Seda to learn more of the worlds and heavens beyond the moon he lived on. At first the ranger was annoyed with the pestering but grew to have a soft spot for the Ewok youth. Weeks later once well enough Seda managed to repair the ship communications to call for a pick up by fellow rangers.
She left Endor soon after much to the tribe‘s sadness who had become quite attached to the human. After a month Sharp Stone village came under siege by a large host of Duloks. At the height of the conflict as Tapli and his people fought for their very lives, Seda returned. Firing a few warning shots from her new vessel the Dulok attackers routed. Grateful for her return and assistance the Ewoks welcomed back her as a honorary member of their tribe.
Much to Tapli’s joy Seda Redwall revealed she was staying on Endor, deciding the Forest Moon needed a Ranger to help protect it. For the next few years Tapil now a capable warrior in his right became Seda’s unofficial apprentice and personal scout. With tribal blessing they patrolled and investigate across the moon, opposing local and outside threats, As time passes Tapli’s ambitions to become a ranger like his mentor grows more and more.

Brave and stubborn to a fault is one way to describe the scout. On a deeper level Tapli is someone who longs to prove himself as a warrior and an Ewok. This desire has developed into a strong combination of pride and determination, battling with the hidden fear of being unworthy somehow. The former is one of his weakest points as Tapli can be easily provoked when it comes to what he considers ‘matters of honor’.
Having a curious soul the young Ewok enjoys learning anything new from the outside galaxy, especially food, music and pranks. Despite this obsession Tapli is a devoted believer in his people’s spiritual beliefs. For him nature needs to be protected and honored for life could not exist without it. Displays of the force and magic can either awe or terrify Tapli, depending on what’s happening.
In combat Tapli Madreck fights like a ‘little demon’ so his mentor would claim. Only the ranger’s guidance about only killing as a last resort puts balance on him. Very mischievous since childhood Tapli enjoys coming up with what he sees as light hearted pranks, seeing it as a bit of fun. A friend or an associate will sooner or later be a target of his in that regard. Also Tapli is known to be pretty competitive with people even in combat.
While the not the wisest nor the most polite Tapli does have a big heart whether he admits it or not. Making him extremely loyal to friends, allies and family if given in return. This greatly fuels his dream to protect others.
A B I L I T I E S
Since youth Tapli has been trained as both a hunter and warrior for his tribe with an acute sense of smell. This includes the use of bow, slingshot, knife and spear. He has learned to make small simple traps on his own and can help with larger types if a group is involved. Not to mention Tapli is experienced with climbing trees, flying ewok gliders, slinging from ropes and riding mounts like ponies found on Endor.
His fighting style is a fierce mixture of tribal and modern. The former being taught personally by his father and the latter half by his human mentor. From the latter Tapli learned to shoot with light blaster pistols and rifles. Some of his finest skills are scouting, tracking and stealth. This works best in wilderness settings.
While Tapli learned from Seda Redwall how to make simple repairs to small consoles and engines, he can hardly fly a ship at all. Much of it due to size issues in cockpits and that piloting is more complex as well. He is fluent in Ewokese and can speak and read enough Basic to get by Tapli is still wholly ignorant of other galactic languages/dialects. Not to mention he can’t lift any heavy type of blasters or similar firearms much less use them.
He knows the basics of driving a speeder bike as taught by the Ranger Redwall, although Tapli wouldn’t win any races even such a vehicle in hand.
