DESCRIPTION​

The T-87 attack speeder is a combat airspeeder manufactured by Incom-FreiTek. The successor to the Galactic Civil War-vintage T-47 airspeeder, the T-87 incorporates a number of improvements over the original design, largely inspired by Rebel Alliance field modifications used during the war. Unlike the T-47, which started life as a civilian cargo hauler, the T-87 is intended solely for combat.

The T-87 is a single-seat design, cutting out the rear gunner position of the T-47. The craft is armed with an under-slung dual repeating blaster turret, plus a concussion missile launcher with a magazine of 8 missiles. Replacing the T-47's tow-cable launcher, which was famously used by the Rebellion to trip up the Empire's heavy walkers, the T-87 mounts an anti-walker bola launcher. This simple device, consisting of a pair of spherical weights linked by a duranium chain, can be fired to entangle the legs of a walker up to the size of an AT-AT. Performance-wise, the T-87 has a maximum speed of 700 kph with excellent maneuverability. For protection, it is equipped with sturdy alusteel hull plating, plus a light shield projector, allowing it to take some hits.

The combat role of the T-87 is primarily that of an anti-infantry and anti-walker blastboat. One of the more agile combat repulsorcraft on the market, it is adept at hovering and moving laterally to strafe ground targets and avoid incoming fire. Because of its dragonfly-like performance, durability and heavy armament, it is one of the most feared war machines on the modern battlefield. At low altitudes against infantry and even armor, it is a force to be reckoned with.

The T-87 is primarily used by various military organizations, including planetary defense forces, mercenary groups and occasionally even law enforcement. Thought they are hard to get, T-87s are available on the black market as well.

T-87 airspeeders are military craft, with military-grade weapons and construction, and enough firepower to decimate whole squads of infantry and even heavy vehicles. In pvp, this speeder can only be used against other ships or vehicles; it is to be treated as a starfighter, and is bound by same restrictions starfighters are.
