Nar Shadda 12 P.M. local time

Ju sat outside a small cafe. An unusual site for the smuggler moon, the cafe was actually quite charming. Though Ju figured it had something to do with he neighborhood. The area was one of the nicer places on Nar Shadda, mostly populated by upper class business and resorts. It didn't make the place any less crime ridden than the rest of the moon, just different types of crimes were commited here. You wouldn't find petty thieves and smugglers. No, these criminals frequented penthouses and lavish boardrooms to plan their extortion, blackmail, laundering, and assassination.

Ironically enough though Ju was here to take part in one of the oldest crimes in the galaxy, grand theft. Grand theft of space vessels to be exact. That was why the particular cafe he'd chosen sat across from a well known Hutt spaceport. The Shadow Syndicate had already taken part in destroying the Hutts local sky palace, so now the work was to begin finish the Job and get the slugs off the Smuggler Moon. They would accomplish this by taking whatever the Hutts hadn't nailed down and making it their own.

The 3 ring sipped his caf as he eyed the space port. Their seemed to be a lot of activity today, with many ships coming and going. No doubt the Hutts were probably trying to get any assets they could out of Nar Shadda and consolidate them on Nal Hutta. It was smart and what Ju would've done the same in their situation. The Hutts wouldn't finish in time however, and their focus on packing up what was left would only make the Syndicate's job easier. So Ju simply sipped his caf and waited for his accomplice, a human who'd recently joined the family as a number. Ju had no idea how useful he'd be but they could go over mission details once he arrived.

It was weird to be out and about on Nar Shaddaa, yet Reese found himself fitting in more than he had hoped. Turned out they liked the way he looked, or at least his impressive resume as a commercial pilot of a wide range of ships. Reese knew they only recruited him for his smuggling potential and he was fine with that. Now that the Empire was taking hits and Imperial space wasn't as safe as it was two years ago, Systech Corporation had requested Imperial ships to escort their bulk freighters to and from Dromund Kaas. With Reese's job outsourced and transferred to piloting bulk freighters again, he found himself suddenly looking for not only more credits, but a way to maintain the level of excitement as well.

Guess that made him an easy target for the honeyed words of the Shadow Syndicate. Today he and other freelancing pilots were waiting around the corner to a Hutt owned spaceport, eagerly eyeing the ships that were coming and going. They knew they'd be flying away with as many as possible, which meant they had to pick their vessels wisely to maximize efficiency. "Alright it's twelve," Reese said as his eyes lef the wrist-datapad he'd been so focused on, "I'll message you guys once the boss gives the okay."

Exiting the inconspicious speeder van, the Systech pilot casually walked over to the cafe and ordered himself a Bantha-milk before approaching the three-ring. "Lotta ships to take, Bossman."

Ju kept staring at the port as his cohort, Reese Spon, approached after ordering a drink.

"Yes, I assume your pilot crews are ready? My crew will come in from the air once we can somewhat secure the port. The spaceport crews are distracted with the evacuation so our infiltration should be simple. We are not to be seen unless absolutely necessary." Ju looked at the pilot now as he continued. "Be ready to eliminate anyone in our way."

Ju would finish his caf just as a small drone would return to him. He usually didn't carry drones but he selected one for this mission as any intel on the port would prove useful. He pulled out his datapad and transferred the drones data to it. He tapped a few times and a holo recording would begin to play. At first all that would bee seen were plain metallic walls of the ship yard, but then a decent aerial view of the inside could be shown. At first it seemed the port wouldn't include anything better than a few bulk freighters, that no doubt held some value, but were useless to the Syndicate. Then into view on the hologram came a welcome sight a Shukala-Class Corvette. Oh yes that would be a very welcome addition to the Syndicate. The recording continued to show a few dropships and starfighters that could be useful and the recording finally ended showing off a rather large ship. At the end of the port was a PPF-10 Cleaver being loaded with cargo. Now that was the prize of the day. If they could bring that into the Syndicate, Ju knew Caiden would likely shower them in credits. He looked to Reese whom he assumed had watched the holo recording.

"The 2 larger ships should be our priority. We should have enough pilots to get the ships out of here. Any other pilots can be ordered to grab any dropships or fighters they can to escort the frigate and corvette. Agreed?"

Reese watched the plans for a moment as he sipped from his glass of milk, "Agreed." If if he hadn't, his unfamiliarity with the Shadow Syndicate and Ju Oko in particular made him reluctant to be a wise ass about a straightforward approach like the one the three-ring proposed. "Some of my boys worked on a Cleaver before," the pilot winked, "so I'm pretty sure we can get that one to your location of choosing." He wasn't completely truthful, as their implied roles in navigation and piloting of a frigate were actually more related to the kitchens and engineering. Still, Reese knew his way around a bridge and he knew he'd be able to get it from point A to B without much of a hassle.

"You take the lead going in," Reese hoped the three-ring had some sort of plan set up involving bribes and whatnot. Surely the Hutts didn't pay their people much now that they were in a free fall from power and wealth. "I only got the one ring, you see." The Systech Pilot smirked and put down his now empty glass of bantha milk.

Ju nodded as Reese agreed to the targets. Ju gave the pilot a quizzical look as he brought up his number of rings. He must have be joking about Ju's, now considerable, salary.

"I'm fine taking point. Getting in shouldn't be a problem. It's doubtful they would even notice us enter the starport with so much cargo to load. Getting out will be harder as they will probably take notice once some of their last few valuables begin to leave without them. I didn't see much security however, and it seems like any command structure left is tenuous at best. I believe our best option is distraction. I have a few remote mines that can be set on the west side of the port. Once they detonate it should send the whole port into chaos. Chaos we will use as cover to accomplish our mission. If that's acceptable then let's get to work."

Ju would stand and start to make his way toward the port. Cargo was still being brought in by means of haulers. Only one beleaguered looking Rodian was present to check the haulers in as they passed through the gate into the port proper. Ju would look behind and gesture for Reese to follow close as he crouch ran behind one of the cargo shipments and made his way to the opposite side of the inspector. With a bit of patience they would pass the gate unseen and into the spaceport grounds. Ju would then begin to work his way toward the west side of the port as he moved from cover to cover. Once in position he'd wait for Reese and whisper.

"I'll set a mine here," He pulled 2 thermal mines from his hidden tactical vest and hand one to Reese. "Set this one a few meters further in. We'll make our way to the east once they're set."

"You got it, boss" Reese followed Ju and pulled his SP-30 as they began crouching their way passed the lonely rodian guard and into the spaceport proper. It was a strange kind of excitement for the Systech pilot, especially since he had never really stood his man outside of a cockpit or ship's bridge, and the unknown both scared him and gave him a weird thrill he only ever got with spice before.

It was the first time he broke into a Hutt controlled spaceport and definitely the first time he held a thermal mine in his hand. Kriff He had no idea how these things worked. "Few meters further in, roger." Not wanting to show himself the rookie that he is, Reese turned away from Ju and placed the thermal mine against one of the metal containers and felt it magnetically attaching itself to it. A sigh of relief was uttered, but there was still the question of which button to press. "There really should be a note," Reese muttered, "press this button to explode on proximity," he couldn't help but envision it blowing up the moment he'd try to step away from it, "-and this button to allow remote detonation." As he said it he noticed two small icons in almost the same color as the mine itself denoting which button for him to press and he did so with considerable elation.

"Mine's set, boss." Reese grinned as he turned back to the three-ring and began going east. He was slower than need be for not wanting to ruin the surprise with his sub-par sneaking skills, but he found himself getting closer and closer to the cleaver and about forty yards from it he pulled out his datapad to message his crew back in the speeder van outside the spaceport.

"Your sign is gonna be a big kessing explosion. Drive the speeder up to the Cleaver and help me take control."

Reese's heart was racing and the SP-30 felt slippery in his sweaty right hand, as if the moment he'd have to use it the damned thing would slip out of his hand, fall on the ground and accidentally shoot himself in the gut. Once those mines went off he'd only have a couple of minutes to get the Cleaver's external doors locked down and the engine firing up. It was going to be a wild ride and it would all start after Ju Oko's signal.

Ju set his mine with practiced efficiency on the underside of a cargo loader and waited for the one ring to finish his. It took a minute, as Ju simply figured the man wasn't trained in explosive use. He offered a silent nod to the man and wished he'd been given a partner with a bit more infiltration training. He'd have to make due as it was far too late to turn back now. Reese at least had the since to carry an SP-30.

His partners lack of stealth was even more evident as they made their way back toward the east end of the port and toward their targets. Ju pulled his own pistol and took it slow so as not to leave Reese to far behind. Though as Ju had predicted the entire staff seemed to be scurrying about with loading tasks. Ju doubted they even needed to be this careful, but Caiden had been adamant about not being seen. As they finally neared the ships he saw Reese make his way closer to the Cleaver. Ju would focus on the Shukala in that case. He took cover behind a few cargo crates about 30 yards from the loading ramp. He pulled his data pad and sent a quick message to the crew that waited only seconds away by dropship.

"Mission is go. Your signal will be an explosion on the west end of the port. Your target is the Shukala corvette."

He insured Reese was in position and assumed he had notified his own crew. It was time. He would have the detonations staggered by about 30 seconds. He set his own off first and the mine detonated, the cargo loader overloaded and went with it. He could only barely make out the form of the the loader as it crashed back down, a flaming wreck that drew everyone's eyes. Many went to investigate, and as they did the 30 count was reached and Ju triggered the next mine. What resulted was a brilliant white flash and massive explosion that shook the ground beneath Ju's feet. What looked like a small sun had been born and engulfed many of the Hutt staff as they looked on. What Reese hadn't realized is that his mine had been placed on containers of Rhydonium fuel.

As the explosion finally died down the port descended into complete pandemonium. Many of the staff just outright abandoned their post, while others just frantically tried to figure out the source of the explosion. Either way it drew almost all attention away from the loading efforts thus leaving the ships wide open. Ju bolted to the Corvette no one taking notice as he made it to the loading ramp. An unfortunate dock worker attempted to approach Ju from the top of the loading ramp, only to be shot down. The workers lifeless body rolling down the ramp with a burning whole in his chest. He held position and soon heard the sound of the dropship and his pilot crew of 20 disembarked. The dropship ascended to provide any cover needed and the pilots approached the 3 ring.

"Two of you grab fighters to cover our extraction. The rest with me. We need to clear the ship and get it airborne. No prisoners."

With that Ju would lead the way up the loading ramp and into the ship.
