somewhere, deep in the nal-hutta marshlands..
Boy what a cycle. First taking the fight to a jedi on some backwater planets cantina, now being directed to this damned swamp planet that felt like a damned sauna with its rains, could cremek ever catch a break? He awkwardly made his way through the marsh, this damned relic better had been worth it, his fellow "scholars" of the dark side of the force had laid the duty of seeking such items and sequestering them away from the jedi shadows and their ilk, who took pleasure in erasing history, as if it would never repeat itself again, "hah, fat chance.." to him. The waxy hot rains pelted cremeks breastplate, washing away the mud as he made his way through the marsh and into a clearing, "here..".

And there it was, crashed, half buried, but still sticking up defiantly. An icon of a fallen age, an age of sidious, grand empire, cruise liner. Standing like an oasis in this swampy hellscape of a planet. Cremek entered through the old engine with almost religious reverence for the history of this liner, a damned miracle the swamp had not consumed this piece of history, he ran his hand along the cruiser, this was from an age where his kind watched over the galaxy as its TRUE guardians, where everything was orderly.. right.. the Sith would truly enter the derelict ship, but today, he was not a sith sorcerer, but a historian, a retriever of history, so it may never be forgotten, nor forgiven.

EPISODE 5
SWAMPED WITH WORK

The remains of a downed cruiser having caught the attention of the Jedi Order on Nal Hutta, Jedi Knight PERUN has been dispatched to investigate. As he delves deeper into the wreckage, an ominous feeling creeps over him. It seems he is not alone.

As Perun had entered the dense and humid swamp on Nal Hutta, the heat, and humidity had hit him like a wall, making his fur damp and heavy. The thick vegetation around him made it difficult to see more than a few feet ahead, and he relied on his senses to guide him.

As he drew closer to the wreckage, the scent of rusted metal and scorched circuitry filled his nostrils, mixed with the stench of decay and rot from the swamp. The sound of his footsteps, muffled by the wet ground, echoed through the dense vegetation, and he could hear the buzz of insects and the croaking of frogs in the distance. Perun's keen eyes scanned the area, searching for any signs of danger or hidden traps.

The sight of the twisted metal and broken glass filled him with a sense of awe and dread. The ship was enormous, even in its ruined state, and Perun could see the faint outline of the old Sith Empire insignia on the hull. He wondered what kind of dark and powerful forces had once piloted this vessel and what they had brought with them to this planet.

Perun's senses were overwhelmed by the sights and sounds of the wreckage. He could see the shattered remains of the ship's interior, twisted metal, and melted wiring strewn about like discarded toys. The air was thick with dust and smoke, and he could taste the metallic tang of ionized air on his tongue. The heat and humidity were oppressive, making it difficult to breathe.

Despite the danger and the sense of foreboding, Perun felt a deep sense of curiosity and wonder. He had always been fascinated by the mysteries of the Force, and he knew that there were secrets to be uncovered in the wreckage of the Sith cruiser. He wondered what knowledge and power lay hidden within its shattered walls, and he felt a fierce determination to uncover its secrets.

Suddently, Perun's sense of caution heightened. He could feel the presence of something dark and malevolent emanating from the wreckage, an energy that seemed to seep into his very bones. He shuddered as the hairs on the back of his neck stood on end, and he reached for his lightsaber, ready for any danger.

Cremek had not yet felt the Jedis presence, then again, he was completely absorbed in the ship.

the broken twisted halls formed a maze, oh how he enjoyed mazes, he was silent when he went to climb an elevator shaft to access the deck, he would place his foot on a small hold, only for it to fall, he couldn't help but yell out in mando'a.

"HUT'UUN!"

Cremek managed to recover himself by grabbing onto a cable, then leaping into a hallway, he rolls

A loud clang could be heard when the peice hit the bottom, Cremek would dust himself off.

"Damnit.. this ship is falling apart by the second.."

The sith historian would continue on his way to the bridge, making sure this time, to avoid elevator shafts if he could.

"Well, well, well, what do we have here?" Perun muttered to himself with a smirk, his ears perking up at the sound of the distant yell and clang. He couldn't help but be amused by the apparent misfortune of whoever was lurking within the wreckage. "Seems like someone is having a bit of trouble navigating this death trap."

Perun cautiously approached the source of the commotion, his lightsaber at the ready but not yet ignited. He moved silently through the twisted corridors, his damp fur plastered to his body, the heat, and humidity only fueling his determination to uncover the ship's secrets and confront whoever else dared to trespass.

The Jedi's keen senses allowed him to follow the faint echoes of footsteps and the sound of muttered curses, leading him ever closer to the mysterious intruder. As he approached, Perun couldn't help but be impressed by the skill with which this stranger navigated the treacherous terrain. Whoever they were, they were clearly no stranger to danger.

At last, Peruncaught sight of Cremek, his curiosity piqued by the stranger's apparent fascination with the Sith vessel. The Jedi's carefree nature couldn't resist the opportunity to engage in some playful banter, even in such a perilous situation.

"Having a bit of trouble, are we?" Perun called out with a lopsided grin, leaning casually against a twisted bulkhead, his unlit lightsaber resting in his hand. "I must say, it's rather entertaining watching you navigate this labyrinth of doom. What brings you to this lovely corner of the galaxy, friend? Are you seeking treasure or perhaps answers to the darker mysteries of the Force?"

Though Perun's tone was light and teasing, his senses remained on high alert, the ever-present feeling of darkness gnawing at the edges of his awareness. He knew that Cremek might turn out to be a formidable foe, and he was prepared to react accordingly.

he clambered up, of course his enemy was here, why wouldn't they be, erasing history was a favorite of their kind. the sith historian growled a little.

"I'm seeking history, to protect it from your kind."

the sith sorcerer kept his distance, ready to unleash hell if he needed to, but he would much rather not, who knows what could happen to the ship if they fought here..

after his last encounter with a jedi, cremek was a lot more hostile towards jedi, he wasn't even bothering to hide the fact he was sith, his red mandalorian styled mask shined in the dark like a ruby, his orange lightsaber acting like a light.

"you're lucky fighting here would get us both killed, else I would smite you where you stand, desecrator.."

his voice dripped with uncharacteristic venom, cremek had always put on the facade of a playful attitude towards his enemy, but this perceived disrespect of his kinds history was something that made cremek throw courtesy out the window.

Perun's eyes gleamed with amusement, his jovial demeanor undeterred by Cremek's hostility. He could sense the raw power and anger emanating from the Sith historian, but he also recognized a shared love of history and the pursuit of knowledge.

"Ah, a fellow history buff! I can assure you, my crimson-masked acquaintance, that desecration is not my intent," the Jedi replied, his tone light and playful despite the tension in the air. "You see, I, too, am here to uncover the secrets of the past. I believe that understanding the history of both the light and dark sides of the Force is essential to maintaining balance in the galaxy."

Perun took a step closer, his unlit lightsaber still in his hand, but his posture non-threatening. He met Cremek's gaze, his eyes radiating a mix of curiosity and defiance.

"You must admit, it's a fascinating place, isn't it? The air is thick with the echoes of ancient power, and one can almost hear the whispers of those who once called this vessel home," he continued, his voice taking on a reverent tone. "Perhaps, instead of wasting our energy on threats and hostility, we could work together to uncover the mysteries that lie within these hallowed halls. After all, we both know that a single misstep could send this entire wreck crashing down around us."

The Jedi couldn't resist adding a cheeky remark to punctuate his proposal. "Besides, wouldn't it be a shame if we destroyed such a wealth of knowledge simply because we couldn't set aside our differences? I'm sure your Sith ancestors would be positively scandalized by such a waste."

Perun stood his ground, a daring smile playing on his lips, awaiting Cremek's response. He knew that forming an alliance with a Sith was a dangerous proposition, but he also believed in the value of cooperation and the potential for understanding between enemies. Only time would tell if Cremek shared his sentiment.

Cremek remained silent, before giving a burst of laughter, his hostile demeanor lowering slightly, but he still had his guard up. A clever one... you know what, why the hell not, it's not like this jedi had a death wish like the last one he fought, and neither did he, and he liked the attitude, it reminded him of himself somewhat, what did he have to lose?

"you know.. what the hell. Sure, i'll bite, but hear me, when I find what i'm looking for, it's mine, and our cooperation is at an end, but I have honor, I will let you leave once we are finished, do we have an accord?"

The sound of Cremek's laughter brought a genuine smile to Perun's face, his carefree attitude clearly making an impact on the Sith historian. He could sense the tension between them easing, though he knew they both remained wary of one another.

"Well, color me impressed," the Ma'alkerrite replied, his tone as cheeky as ever. "I didn't think I'd see the day when a Sith would agree to work with a Jedi. But don't worry my friend, I'm a Jedi of my word. Whatever treasure you seek shall be yours, and our cooperation shall end once our exploration is complete. We have ourselves an accord."

Perun extended his hand towards Cremek in a gesture of goodwill, the unlit lightsaber still in his other hand as a reminder of the fragile nature of their alliance. He knew that trust between a Jedi and a Sith was a rare and fleeting thing, but he couldn't deny the thrill of the unexpected partnership.

"Now, since we're going to be working together, I think it's only fair that we exchange a bit of information," the ape-man continued, his curiosity getting the better of him. "What exactly are you looking for in this forsaken wreck? Some lost artifact, perhaps? Or maybe a record of ancient Sith knowledge? You know, so we're on the same page."

The Jedi's irreverent demeanor shone through even as they ventured deeper into the wreckage, the oppressive heat and humidity doing nothing to dampen his spirits. Perun knew that he was treading a dangerous path, but he couldn't help but be excited by the prospect of uncovering long-lost secrets alongside an unlikely ally.

As they began their joint exploration, Perun remained vigilant, his senses attuned to both the darkness that permeated the ship and the potential danger that Cremek represented. He knew that their alliance was tenuous at best, but he hoped that their shared love of history might forge a bond that could withstand the inevitable clash of light and dark.

The jedi was right to worry, as their shared love of history was the only thing keeping cremek from draining or shocking the jedi to death, he did not take his hand, as a reminder of this.

"not everything has to do with extreme knowledge, sometimes it can be a banner, or a momento, it could even be a diary, I am searching for the report logs if I can. and if I can't, I'll simply go for any armor that remains."

The sith walked, keeping pace with the jedi, in truth, he was here for not just those, but a holocron left behind from one of the original sovereign protectors, a training manual of sorts, and a fine prize indeed. He understandably left that part out, Things like that were a closely guarded secret, even Cremek, a sith lore-master and historian, was most likely forbidden from reading this holocron.

"now, what about you, what are you here for?"

Cremek kept a cordial attitude, but he was ready to fling an ice spike at a moment's notice with cryokinesis if he had to.

Perun noted the lack of a handshake, the tension between them remaining palpable. He listened carefully as Cremek shared his goals, intrigued by the Sith's interest in seemingly mundane objects. The Jedi couldn't help but wonder if there was something more to the Sith historian's search.

"I can appreciate a good memento, my Sith friend," the Ma'alkerrite replied with a mischievous wink. "As for me, I'm here to learn. I believe studying the remnants of the past, especially those of the Sith, can help us better understand the Force and its role in our lives. There's always something new to discover, and every piece of knowledge brings us closer to a deeper understanding of the galaxy."

Perun led the way through the twisted wreckage, his eyes scanning the dark corners and hidden alcoves for any signs of ancient artifacts or long-forgotten secrets. He could feel the weight of Cremek's presence beside him, a constant reminder of the delicate balance of their alliance. The Jedi knew that one false move could spell disaster, but he remained hopeful that their shared love of history would keep them from coming to blows.

As they delved deeper into the ship, Perun couldn't help but be captivated by the eerie beauty of their surroundings. Abruptly however, the Jedi Knight was brought out of his reveries as his senses tingled with alarm as a pair of dragonsnakes slithered from a shadowy corner of the ruins, their sinuous bodies gliding effortlessly through the murky water.

The Jedi's heart raced, adrenaline surging through his veins as the creatures bared their fangs, hissing menacingly. Despite the danger, Perun marveled at the raw beauty and power of the dragonsnakes, their scales glistening like living jewels in the dim light. His casual airiness momentarily subdued, the Jedi swiftly ignited his lightsaber, the blade casting an eerie glow over the scene. His eyes darted between the creatures and Cremek, prepared to defend them both against the impending threat.

cremek had taken his stance, a quite odd one for a sith, niman, to be exact, with a few minor differences, his free hand on his brilliantly orange saber hilt. as well, emulating revans form of niman, before would finnaly use the cryokinesis he had been preparing to throw a bursts of ice shards at the creatures, his goal was to hopefully stun them for an easy kill.

"what a bother.."

He corkscrews back, in order to maintain his distance, the sith lore-master waiting for whatever would come next.

Perun watched with keen interest as the Sith displayed his unique adaptation of the Niman lightsaber form. The insolent Jedi Knight couldn't resist a quip, even in the heat of battle. "Well, aren't you just full of surprises? A Sith who can make it snow? Impressive!"

As the masked dark sider unleashed a flurry of ice shards, the dragonsnakes proved to be more agile than anticipated, dodging the frozen projectiles with surprising grace. One of the creatures lunged towards the Sith, its fangs bared and eyes filled with predatory hunger.

Unwilling to let his temporary ally face the threat alone, Perun leaped into action. The Jedi's lightsaber hummed as he engaged the second dragonsnake, its serpentine body coiling and striking with lightning speed. Perun's blade met the creature's attacks with fluid precision, the deadly dance between predator and prey a symphony of danger and skill.

As he fought, the Ma'alkerrite couldn't help but steal glances at his companion, observing the Sith's technique and prowess in battle. Despite their ideological differences, the Jedi found himself begrudgingly impressed by the historian's abilities.

Determined to dispatch the creature before him, Perun sought an opening in the dragonsnake's defenses. He feinted left, then struck to the right, his lightsaber connecting with the creature's thick neck. The dragonsnake hissed in pain and fury, but Perun's blow had weakened it considerably.

With a defiant smirk, the Jedi quipped, "These swamp-dwellers sure know how to put up a fight, don't they? Let's see if we can't finish this little dance and get back to our treasure hunt, shall we?"

His eyes still on the Sith and the other dragonsnake, Perun prepared to deliver a final, decisive blow to the wounded creature before him. The Jedi knew that they had to act quickly and decisively, lest the dragonsnakes gain the upper hand and jeopardize their fragile alliance.

Cremek sat there, waiting, plan A had failed.. plan B then.

Cremek had waited, then, when the creature went for a strike, cremek did a similar corkscrew, but this time, he slashed as he moved, like he was dancing, as his saber went right through its jaw, splitting it partially in half in an absolutely vicious counter, while saber straight up aggressive combat was not Cremeks forte, he was still competent with nimans flexibility for defensive counters. Even an intelligent creature such as a Dragon Snake did not expect this as it flopped to the floor.

"next."

Perun couldn't help but be impressed by the crimson masked force user's swift and brutal counterattack, the dragonsnake falling lifeless to the ground. "Well, that's one way to silence an unwelcome guest," he remarked, his cocky tone intact even amid the carnage.

Turning his focus back to his own adversary, the Jedi Knight seized the opportunity presented by the dragonsnake's weakened state. He brought his lightsaber down with a swift, decisive strike, severing the creature's head from its body. The dragonsnake slumped to the ground, joining its fellow in eternal slumber.

With their serpentine foes dispatched, Perun extinguished his lightsaber and turned to the Sith, a hint of amusement dancing in his eyes. "You've got some moves, Sith historian. I must say, I didn't expect you to be so... nimble."

Resuming their search for the hidden treasures within the ruins of the Sith Empire's cruiser, the unlikely duo ventured deeper into the twisted wreckage. As they navigated the dark, narrow corridors, the atmosphere grew more oppressive, a palpable sense of foreboding hanging heavy in the air. Yet, despite the looming danger, Perun's natural curiosity and love of banter remained undiminished.

"So, Sith friend," he began, his voice light and teasing. "You mentioned armor earlier. Are you looking to add to your personal collection, or is it purely a scholarly pursuit? And, while we're on the subject, what's the story behind that striking mask of yours?"

As they continued their exploration, Perun couldn't help but wonder how long their fragile alliance would last. For now, however, he chose to focus on the task at hand, his keen eyes scanning the darkness for any signs of long-lost relics or hidden secrets.

"The force is my weapon, more so than even my saber."

He would shake his head, the flame orange saber diminishing and the hilt being placed on his belt. the only thing he valued on him was his mask, other than that, everything was replaceable.

"and to answer your first question, it is purely for historical value, the second question, it's a memento of a life that should have been mine."

to cremeks relief, they were closing in on the bridge, just a little further, and cremek would have his prize, then he can return home, and potentially earn glory for a job well done, though, it was not like he cared for glory, cremek was a sith loyalist through and through, maybe it was his roots as a mandalorian than gave him this sense of.. duty.

"Ni cuy' a Mando ures a runi"
"I am a mandalorian without a soul"
"to put it simply. Dar'manda."

"Ah, so you're a Sith with a Mandalorian twist. Fascinating," the Jedi mused, the intrigue in his voice unmistakable. "A lost soul seeking purpose through the echoes of history. There's a certain poetic irony in that, don't you think?" he added, his tone softening ever so slightly. Despite their differences, the Jedi couldn't help but be drawn to the enigmatic figure that was the masked Sith, his curiosity piqued by the unique blend of cultures and philosophies embodied by the Sith historian.

"You know, I've always had a soft spot for Mandalorian culture. Their craftsmanship, their warrior spirit... It's quite the blend of art and brutality. But as for being without a soul, well, I can't help but wonder if that's a bit of an exaggeration. After all, you seem to have more depth than the average Sith I've encountered."

As they drew closer to the bridge, Perun could sense the anticipation radiating from his companion, his desire for the prize within their grasp nearly palpable. Despite his misgivings about their alliance, the Ma'alkerrite found himself drawn into the thrill of the hunt, the allure of uncovering ancient secrets a powerful force in its own right.

"Well, Sith," he began, his voice once again taking on a playful tone, "I must say, this little adventure of ours has been quite the experience. Never thought I'd see the day when a Jedi and a Sith would be traipsing through a swamp together, united by a love of ancient relics."

With a sly smile, Perun continued forward, his lightsaber at the ready and his senses attuned to the Force. The secrets of the Sith cruiser beckoned, and despite the dangers lurking in the shadows, he couldn't deny the thrill that coursed through him at the prospect of uncovering long-forgotten truths.

As they finally reached the bridge, Perun took a moment to survey the ancient control panels and decaying instruments, his heart swelling with a sense of awe and wonder. "Here we are," he announced, gesturing grandly at the scene before them. "The heart of a once-mighty Sith cruiser, filled with untold secrets and long-forgotten stories. Let's see what we can uncover, shall we?"

"It's a figurative term, not a literal one, no one is soulless."

he could sense it, the holocron, finnaly, his prize, he sped walk to the captain's quarters, force pushing the door agap so he could slide through, then lifting the blood red, emblazoned with gold, the cloth long withered away, into his grasp from amid the semi collapsed room.

"And being dar'manda is considered a fate worse than death, a punishment that extends to you, your entire family, and your clan, unless they exile you as well. To be dar'manda is to be alone, but I digress.. I have what I want, so I will honor my word, and not kill you, therefore I will take my leave.."

"Oh, I'm well aware of the figurative nature of the term, Sith," the Ma'alkerrite responded, his sassy smile returning. "But sometimes, the best truths are hidden behind a veil of metaphor, don't you think?"

As the masked man claimed his prize, Perun continued his own search, his senses drawn to a particular corner of the bridge. Pushing aside a pile of debris, he discovered a small, intricately carved box, half-buried in the rubble. A faint aura of the Force seemed to emanate from it, whispering untold secrets and knowledge.

"Well, well, what do we have here?" the Jedi mused, gingerly lifting the box from its resting place. "Seems like I've found a little treasure of my own."

As the Sith prepared to depart, Perun turned to face him, his expression a mixture of amusement and solemnity. "Sith friend, our journey together may have been brief, but it's been nothing if not enlightening. I hope that, in some way, our time together has brought you a small measure of solace."

With a sly wink, Perun added, "And who knows? Perhaps one day, our paths will cross again, and we can continue our spirited debates on history and the intricacies of the Force."

As they parted ways, Perun couldn't help but feel a strange sense of satisfaction. Though their alliance had been born of necessity and a shared love of history, he had glimpsed a glimmer of humanity within the Sith historian. And in that moment, as he watched the Sith disappear into the shadows, Perun felt a flicker of hope that perhaps, someday, the chasm between Jedi and Sith might not be so vast and insurmountable.

With the mysterious box in hand, the Jedi began his journey back through the swamp, his thoughts a whirl of questions and possibilities. What secrets lay hidden within the ancient artifact, and what role would they play in the ever-unfolding tapestry of the galaxy? Only time would tell.
